The Oregon Duck is the mascot of the University of Oregon Ducks athletic program, based on Disney’s Donald Duck character. The mascot wears a green and yellow costume and a beanie cap with the word “Oregon” written on it. Oregon made a short-lived attempt to replace the cartoon mascot with Mandrake, a futuristic take on the duck, at the Homecoming game in 2002. By the following season, the “RoboDuck” was introduced.
Birds are one of the most common college mascots, and one in 1978 was created by student and Daily Emerald graphic artist Steven Sandstorm. He created “Mallard Drake”, who more or less looked like Daffy Duck, as a potential new mascot. The Oregon Duck mascot is known for his ability to instantly bring smiles to every face.
The Madison Mallards (Northwoods League) unveiled new logos and branding for the 2021 season, tying mascot Maynard G. Mallard with more local elements for the summer-collegiate team. After a rivalry prompted Ben Harrington to become the mascot for the Memorial High School Spartans, he added the Mallards “Maynard” to his roster.
The Mallard is a playable mascot in Crossy Road, and Andy Sum has claimed it to be his favorite mascot. The school mascots had previously been the West Bend Bulldogs and the Mallard Ducks. The Mallard is the deuteragonist of indie game Crossy Road and is the second mascot of the Duck-like block. The Madison Mallards baseball team has a Maynard the Mallard mascot costume made by Olympus Mascots.

Truthfully, as someone who works at a pet store, nothing brings us more joy during the day than having incredible owners bring their pets in to say hello! It’s what I look foreword to every shift! Haven’t seen a duck yet but I’m crossing my fingers! Haha EDIT: Many of y’all wanna know where I work, I won’t say which specific store number I work at but I can tell ya’ll that it is one of the many Pet Valu corporate stores across Canada. It’s a wonderful job. I’ve also worked at a franchise Pet Valu briefly after I moved but than I ended up going back home and I was able to get my original position back so there’s some background! Haha
Am I the only Wrinkle fan who is wearing out the “reverse” button on my television remote just so I can enjoy and share the cutest and funniest moments of her articles with my friends over and over again? She looked ADORABLE as she pranced down the aisle in that off white jacket! And the little tail wag after she walked up those steps was just so precious. She was clearly proud of herself! It is so obvious that Human allows her to choose what she wants to wear, as she literally “struts” just like a runway supermodel when she’s wearing something she really likes. Plus she has impeccable taste and plenty of confidence, which only exemplifies her Immense charm and charisma. That’s because her daddy allows her to choose and express what makes HER feel pretty and comfortable. Now if only other parents would do the same…. Thank you for being such an incredible dad and a wonderful person, Human. You truly are an intelligent, witty, talented and blessed role model who makes everyone’s life so much brighter!
Why is she more well behaved than 80% of the dogs that come into the pet store? FYI: This is completely rhetorical, I’m father to a very stubborn Border Collie and I know a prey animal won’t be as high-strung as a working animal, aka like 70% of dog breeds. (Citation: Made It Up) I love that I could make so many of y’all smile enough to like my little comment, but please the notifications filled with the same answer I knew from the start are making me wonder if it’s really worth it to keep this up.
Back in high school my friend went to our cities China Town and came back with a Baby Duck. He’d tie string to it and go for walks with her down to the marina and let her swim in one shallow little corner on the string, gradually everybody began to know them. His dream was to buy a big yellow American school bus and just travel around the country exploring it and giving hitchhikers or whoever else wants them free lifts. He passed away before his 18th birthday. He had a beautiful soul. I still miss him.
So unbelievably sweet and fun to watch. But please be careful and keep informed about any avian flu outbreaks in your area. My vet is telling me it’s pretty much endemic and its with us now and not going away and there will be more outbreaks. Just a heads – up as waterfowl/ducks are more prone to it (and there are scary things out there about what the feds can and will do in these type of outbreaks that would devastate bird owners). There is nothing better than seeing how well people tend to respond when you bring unique pets out in public. I take my rats out with me often when I go shopping, and while you get the occasional person that is freaked out (in four years, I can count those on ONE hand..), I’ve collectively spent HOURS with random people that just want to know all about them, or want to take a picture, etc.
this is exactly the wholesome content i needed today. giving the feather to the girl with the birds was so cute too, she was so happy. what a nice gesture. i suggest folding the sleeves on the sweater inwards, this is what people other do after losing an arm so the sleeve dont sway around, for wrinkle she could trip on them and we cant that baby to be as safe as possible ofcourse. ♥
