  • Here in Germany we never knew about him. I discovered some memes over the years and always thought “what an interesting person that is”, but never bothered. Now I watched the film and by the end, I was in tears. Such a personality, so much kindness, and a message that will never ever grow old. A true legend, in many ways.

  • Netflix is really coming through for Latinos! This is the kind of thing we need right now. I showed this trailer to my 80 year old mother, and at first she didn’t quite understand, but she lit up…. I then explained that this was a documentary about his life, and that it’s coming to Netflix. Once she understood, she literally cried. This is how much Walter meant to her, to the Latin community. And it’s not the astrology thing either, it goes so much deeper than that! Walter Mercado IS the Latin community!

  • This trailer make me a little emotional because we grew up with Walter Mercado, we learned so much from him and we didn’t even know it. He was an ICON, he was exactly what he wanted to be and he didn’t apologize for it.

  • Perfect documentary. I laughed, I cried, anger at betrayal against him, felt a fantastic love of life. Walter Mercado literally willed positive energy and good vibes to millions of people! Follow your heart and believe in yourself, God is within all of us. Mucho, Mucho, Amore! I’m gonna go have a good cry now and live my best life. Rest in Peace and thank you Walter T_T

  • I had no idea who he was, just finished perusal de documentary and I’m so emotional… I had no idea he passed only 3 months after the exhibition, it felt like he needed to be surrounded by the love of his fans one last time. As you watch it you get attached to his loving personality… I smiled and cried. I adore him now and I don’t believe in God and I don’t believe in astrology but I felt “mucho mucho amor” and that’s the whole point… may his message resonate on everyone, it would be a better world in a second.

  • Just got done perusal this. I don’t usually get touched emotionally in movies but this one really got to me. Just like any Hispanic child growing up with a mother and brothers of 4 I remember my mother being obsessed perusal his shows and I grew up perusal it with her. Didn’t know how much he went through to get where he was until they tried to destroy him. He lived a good life and he loved what he did for us the people. Rest In Peace Walter Mercado you will be missed!

  • I use to see Walter Mercado on Univision television and on television during my visits to Puerto Rico. As a person of Puerto Rican ancestry born in New York City and living in Washington, D.C., seeing Walter Mercado on television was both fascinating and funny. I enjoyed perusal the documentary of his life on Netflix because I learn things that I never knew about Walter Mercado. Even today when I am joking with my Puerto Rican, Afro Cuban, and Dominican friends, I always say Mucho Mucho Amor and we all breakout with laughter. This was Walter’s trademark saying on Spanish television. RIP, Walter; Dios te bendiga.

  • I remember seeing him on the tv as a child and not having one clue what he was talking about. I thought he was a psychic or a sorcerer of sorts. It kind of scared me not gonna lie. It wasn’t until til I got older that I came to realize what was going on with his segments. It takes me back to the days as a child in my great grandmas hot and stuffy small apartment that always reeked of stale perfume. His memory forever lives on in my mind. RIP Walter Mercado

  • I’m in my thirties now and I remember every time Walter would come on the screen, it’s like he gravitated energy and attention from everybody in the room. Granted, I didn’t understand horoscopes as a kid but I very well knew there was something special about him. He for sure had a gift.

Edit: Holy shit I had no idea he passed, I am sorry. Rest in peace icon you will be loved, have fun in other interdimensional astral planes with other awesome light beings like you. ❤🌑🌘🌙🌌

  • Netflix, someone needs to be working on something like this for Chespirito (I hope). Latin TV ICONS! Our heritage, our history needs this kind of documentaries. Whether you like Walter or not, no one can’t denied his Latino Pop Culture status and his gigantic influence in our TV culture. Same with Roberto Gomez Bolaños aka Chespirito. This are our icons, our pioneers, our creative TV innovators and wall breakers. We need this as well for our music Icon. I was never a Walter fan, never once watch his show, but I knew who he was, his influence in our media landscape and culture and so I know We need this! … we need more of this for all our icons or latin TV. Let’s start telling our own stories, we have enough subjects and stories of our own. PLEASE!

  • …The first time, that I ever saw, Walter Mercado, on TV, I remember thinking two things…one, he was so FABULOUS, with his fancy capes and giant cocktail rings, that he reminded me, of my Grandmother…and two, I wish that I spoke Spanish, so I could understand, what the hell he was saying!!? 🙈 Walter, you were my very first introduction to astrology, as a kid. Mucho, Mucho, Mucho AMOR to you 🙏🏻💓💋

  • Bella personalidad, muy, muy querido. Jamás dijo nada negativo y siempre regalo positivismo.

  • we all love him and you will be remember forever Walter. WE never heard negativity only love and that’s amazing. I cried perusal this wonderful tribute of his beautiful contribute to society. I hope we learn that love is everything in life. Thank you for giving us your love and knowledge. we love you forever

  • Everyone in my family watched Walter because he transmitted only love, and the possibility of a better tomorrow. His whole thing was transmitting love to everyone. He felt that people needed to be loved and there wasn’t enough going around. People that didn’t like him were those who knew they would never be able to fit in this man’s shoes.

  • He was such a gentle soul, he never gave any body negative advise and he was so much full of love it makes me so angry of that horrible man that took advantage of him. I wonder if he ever got panush? That’s a comb master. How could you not terminate that stupid contract? I cried it reminded me my childhood.

  • I would really like to know what Bill Bacula (Walter’s manager) gave Walter in return for his trademark name. There is something here in the Doc that doesn’t explain why Mercado would sign a “blank check” (which is the contract) over to his manager and without knowing the consequences of doing so. I think that Walter DID receive a lump sum but Walter was just to naive to understand the plain language in the contract or just didn’t care. Bacula later stated that he didn’t want to lease Walter’s name, but in fact own outright Walter’s trademark.

  • Wow I remember as a little girl. When Walter Mercado was on the TV. In a Puerto Rican household you knew. It as time to shut up. Everybody would be ready to write down there numbers & what to do. My grandma, aunts my & her there friends of friends. Everbody knew to shut up. My whole generation told me & my siblings shut up…lol

  • just starting to get to know Walter Mercado’s legacy and though he seems like a dazzling show business personality, i invite you to think about this: how much of this is very carefully calculated? if you look into how he identifies publicly — as a “virgin into his 80’s”, always avoiding questions about his personal life — would you think he masterfully played this knowing full well that if he honestly told he was gay, he wouldn’t have this mass success? would you agree that it’s much more acceptable for a flamboyant androgynous-looking entertainer to say “i’m just an otherworldly being with no sexual interests” — makes him appealing to everyone, the housewifes, the abuelas, even to the homophobes he might look simply “different”. if that same person said he was gay, to so many among that that audience he would automatically be just a “*aggot” — cause in all honesty, let’s agree that gay men who openly claim their genderqueerness enjoy much less acceptance among the public — androgyny is simply still very unattractive in the public consciousness, unless the androgynous person claims he doesn’t play in the sexual arena — like Walter. To me his story, apart from all the positivity and love he radiated, is mostly a reinforcement of a very outdated idea that in order to be acceptable as flamboyant, you gotta present as asexual. Sounds like a really sad closeted bygone era — sadly still very much alive in countries like Russia where entertainers similar to Walter, like Filip Kirkorov, still operate on those same terms.

  • Wonderful Film about a wonderful Person named Walter Mercado! Destroyed by a Sozio- and Psychopath named Bill who regrets nothing, because he only is able to love money and nothing else, and this Devil loves to destroy the Light. This remembered me of the story of Nikola Tesla and the awful J.P. Morgan.

  • Like him or not, Piers Morgen did NOT ruin his career. He’s bigger than ever. This list is only someone’s opinion. There’s a few people on this list, the people absolutely hate, and that will never ever change. There’s a few people on this list that I personally can’t stand myself. I wouldn’t say that they ALL Ruined their careers.

  • Bull Mahara career is exactly the same as it was before. What consequences did he face? He still has his Prime time HBO show and is making millions a year . He did not get fired and his show is as popular as ever and the only people who called him out were people who were not fans of his to start with.
