Elvis Presley’s death in 1977 has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories, with some suggesting he may have faked his death to escape the mafia. Gail Brewer-Giorgio, author of the 1988 book Is Elvis Alive, recalled that these theories have gained prominence since then, fueled by reports of a secret autopsy and the release of FBI records. The conspiracy theory that Presley did not actually die on that day has persisted, underscoring his mark on American culture and revealing as much about Elvis as it does about American identity.
Sightings of Elvis Presley have been reported following his death, and the most popular and plausible theory is that Presley was indeed alive. As a global population, we are awash with conspiracy theories, but what effect do these have on the public as we go about our day-to-day lives?
One of the more satisfying aspects of conspiracy theorising is that sometimes they might just be right. The life of the conspiracy theory that claims Elvis Presley faked his death is an almost unbelievable journey through gimmick-crazy ideas. As a global population, the effects of these theories on the public are questionable, as they often hint at deep questions of national identity.

📹 Is Elvis Alive? Why These Fans Think So
On Aug. 16, 1977, Elvis Presley “left the building,” dying in his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. The man known as …
I know when a celebrity of his stature dies at an early age it is difficult to believe and will inspire conspiracy theories. The bottom line is that Elvis didn’t exactly take care of himself and passed away in a manner similar to other addicted musicians (although the toilet thing….). As much of an icon as he had become, on a pedestal if you will, he was an addict and there’s only so much the body can take if there is not a stop to it and recovery. I don’t think any man can handle being that famous and he had unwittingly created a prison for himself…a wall you may call it…
There is one thing about Elvis allegedly dying on the toilet, or rather having a heart attack and falling off the toilet dead… Well my very first day, and my very first patient in nursing school did that very thing before I could even meet him. I went to the room, found the bed empty and the bathroom door closed. I knocked, told him my name and that I would check back in a few minutes. I did that and then checked back yet again. After the last check, I talked with my instructor, who in turn talked to the nursing staff. They called maintenance to unlock the door, and found him deceased on the floor. That was almost my LAST day of nursing school. Almost, but it wasn’t. That happened 32.5 years ago. Now I’m retired and only have to worry about the hour ish time my husband spends in the restroom LoL. Anime is going to cause me to have a heart attack some day worrying about him in there.
You see this is where people get caught out that they’re not being entirely truthful. So on the one hand both Joe Esposito and Charlie Hodge state that they could see clearly that rigor mortis had set in, but then both proceed to state how Elvis’ doctor tried to revive him. Even if they were being naïvely optimistic, which imo they were not, it still doesn’t add up that a doctor would not know it would be a pointless exercise attempting to revive a rigor-mortised deceased body!
What still bothers me is the picture of him in his casket, that he looked so young. A girl sneaked her camera into Graceland where he lay “in state” and took the picture. Some say the picture was faked somehow. I don’t know if technology was that far advanced in 1977 to make him look really good or not, hearing about how he looked when he was found on the bathroom floor. The most outrageous rumor is that a wax dummy, not Elvis, is buried at Graceland. Some have even said that the hearse had an air conditioner in it!
God only created one Elvis and He left this world on 8-16-77. Please let him rest in peace with God, his Mother, his twin brother, his Father, and other family members. I love Elvis and know that he loved his fans . Elvis would never put us through the pain and grief of pretending to be dead. R.i.p. Elvis. You will never be forgotten!
A thought came to mind after reading much about Elvis Presley. After my grandmother passed away, I saw her sitting in our back yard where we had some logs. I recall keep staring to make sure I was just imagining what I was seeing. It’s perhaps possible the soul of the dead stays around for some time, in their familiar surrounding or among their loved ones. I think when we love a person so much, perhaps we do not want to let go of that person, hence the reason for the departed to stay with us. Time is a great healer and as the sadness wears off, the loved one get released from our wanting to hold on to the memories. That’s what I think.
Elvis is Alive,he wanted out of the limelight to live a normal life, the FBI and Col Parker arranged his funeral, the mob were after him and he had to disappear to save Lisa Marie from being kidnapped and ransomed for Elvis to give himself up to the mob for jailing a lot of gangsters as an undercover FBI agent,he is alive and visits Graceland in a regular basis.👑🎤🎼🎵🎶👑👍
there is a contridiction in what one of his friends said in this article…it was stated that when they arraived that elvis body was in rigamortus…but later it was stated that they worked on elvis in the ambulance…if rigamortus had set in then why would the am bulance people try to revive him….there would be no point in trying to revive him……..im even more convinced now that elvis did not die but had to escape his situation.
Okay, then why is the property still in his name, my dad died a year and a half ago, and it got spit up with his children. But does his X wife, or child have there name on it, plus he was getting tried of the lime light. What would you do when your fans expect you to be there singing your heart out day after day after day, even some thing you love gets old. If he is alive and living out the rest of his life in peace and quiet, so be it. I wish him the best of happiness, I just wish you so called close friends would just say nothing because if he is alive,I bet your still getting a pay check, or otherwise Graceland would be a trust organization and not still owned by him
Read the lyrics to the song Hound dog Man by Roy Orbison Hey Hound Dog Man Where you gone now Where you been …Sometimes someone like you Will give everything for what he wanted to do Hey hound dog man My old friend, do it again… Don’t these words say it all. He was very unhappy at the end, and dedided to fake his death to get away from it all.
If he was alive, he would not have made himself recognizable so if they thought they saw him it would probably have been an impersonator. Suppose for argument sake, he faked a death, then he wouldn’t be calling people. If he is alive and living under an alias, I would be happy for him to have another chance to live the other half of his life being able to go places without being mobbed. However, it would be too difficult to orchestrate this and not get caught!
Elvis is still alive and well. Long live the king of rock and roll. He’s still jamming in church and preaching about Jesus to his followers. I watch his you tube articles once in a while. He’s still going strong at his age of 84. Happy birthday Elvis! He still sings some of his old Elvis songs and sings gospel in his church. He is the real deal. There’s no mistaking it.
Make one about Tupac Some people say that he still alive that’s been going on for years just let the man rest in peace enough of all this conspiracy theories about him that’s been going on for too long and this year he would’ve been 48 Years old and also will mark the 23rd anniversary of his death that’s why his legacy still lives on and everybody still talking about him all these years later just like Elvis John Lennon Marvin Gaye Michael Jackson and Marilyn Monroe Jimi Hendrix And other deceased stars Tupac Is in that category he still remains The best selling artist of all time and he continues to sell a lot of records and he still remains relevant and huge in Today time Long live the king of rap
A terrible lot of Americans just cannot face reality. As to Elvis being “King Of Rock & Roll”, that title rightly belonged to Aussie, Johnny O’Keefe. O’Keefe controlled his OWN career while Presley allowed himself, wittingly or unwittingly, likely the latter, to be exploited by that illegal Dutch Alien that called himself Colonel Tom Parker. O’Keefe’s manager, Lee Gordon, played only a minimal role in O’Keefe’s career, managing O’Keefe’s finances was the extent of Gordon’s involvement. When Lee Gordon died, O’Keefe’s new manager, if there was one, had the same role as Lee Gordon. O’Keefe chose all his own material for live shows and records, planned his own tours, concerts and TV appearances. Johnny O’Keefe sadly died in October, 1978, the very day after his last TV appearance on the “Steve Raymond Show” that went out from Station TEN-Sydney on Friday Night(can’t remember the date). Johnny O’Keefe is sadly missed by his Aussie fans but we have faced reality and do NOT try to pretend he’s still alive. We remember him fondly as we listen to his back-catalogue of hits issued by Festival Records, his enduring legacy. Johnny O’Keefe did not start Festival, he joined Festival in 1956 but he is the reason why the record company thrived after Mainguard Ltd. (the company that first established Festival in 1952 as one of its subsidiaries) went belly-up after several other unsuccessful ventures.
J.D. Sumner knew Elvis from the time he was a child until his death, August 16, 1977. He would have definitely known if the body in the casket was Elvis or not. Also, Charlie Hodge. He lived with Elvis since the army days. They knew him the best and if they said he was dead I believe them. Elvis would not have faked his death. He had too much dignity and too much respect for his family, friends and fans to have put them through that kind of pain. Another thing is if Elvis Presley was going to fake his death why in the world would he have chosen to do it in the bathroom with his pants down. He would not have done that on purpose. Logic should tell people that.
Actually, I can believe that Elvis is alive, not that I’m pining my hopes on it. I’m hardly an Elvis fan. First of all, Elvis would have a massive motive to fake his death. He can slip out of the spotlight and back into privacy, away from the press of fans everywhere he goes. Oh, and he can boost his record sales big league from heart-broken fans. Retirement is virtually impossible, he can’t go anywhere, can’t enjoy life, without rock fans begging for pictures, autographs, performances, etc. Yes, he can fake it. He can bribe a coroner to make a fake death certificate, and if he has connections, pull sorts of strings with authorities to make it legal. He can then give a story for his associates to tell how he died. And then, he can pack his things and his bank account, move into a new neighbourhood under a false name (granted by his high-level connections) and settle down to enjoy life, while perusal the spectacle of fans crying over him.
they need to respect & let the king rest, most people now a days don’t have any proof to show that he’s alive but people definitely needs to respect Elvis family especially his daughter. It’s not right for people to say he’s alive without any proof & not to make up anything just so others can believe them .
Bro can we just let this man rest, he amazed this world with his brilliant performances and talent and he was truly a genuine person but now it’s time for the king to rest, he will live on forever no matter what and we still all love him no matter what…God just needed him back home, he was gone to long
He knows I know about his cars at JT Cadillac dealership and I was delivering food with my friend who owned Otasco store J T told us to come in and don’t peek out the windows Behold Elvis cars was all in that shop. and I was looking at them. And JT told me to stay back in the I’m gonna talk to my friend Phil he was taking the food in their main office, and he told me not to touch those cars Then a voice came out of the back and said. If you want to get in those cars you’re welcome to get in those. I turn in looked over in a corner. See who it was, and it was Elvis himself. He was hiding at JT cadillac dealership Because feel bo😅enough food for about 3 or Four people. I couldn’t figure out why I was waiting so long for the food. He sent me up there to order it. I ordered a bunch of food, and it is for Phil for JT. We took it over to the dealership, and all the little windows in the back were all taped up the brown paper bags. I held my secret in my heart for 40 years or 50. I’m glad to get that off me,there were no workers that day they were off for the week
I believe Elvis died but I accept the possibility that he faked his own death. Elvis was a world icon, living hostage of his fame, in his own home. He lived like a bat, could only go somewhere late at night. It is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to handle it a lifetime. Now notice what usually happens to superstars who live daily under great pressure: DRUGS, DEPRESSION. They either die of an OVERDOSE or commit SUICIDE. Elvis was very bad. There were only two possible EXITS: DEATH or the DISAPPEARENCE through an incredible plan with the fakement of death.
Gail never spoke to Elvis she hired someone who does a good Elvis impression thats on YouTube by the way and i’m friends with Elvis’s hairdresser who did his hair for the funeral and he gets choked up when he talks about it so Elvis is dead but people will keep spreading rumors that he is alive until he is 100 years old lol.
U know i felt a presents at his home and I’ve Saw Lisa Marie as a little girl and I told her and I saw as a ghost of a little I told her everything is fine when u grownup U’ll find out how many fans ur dad has anyways I’ve see the evidence of AA on his grave and I was shocked to see his grave but there was something I did understand if AA Aaron to As in Aron his middle name is always began with A for started even in his casket that wasn’t Elvis Presley face it was something wrong with his hair and Elvis long curled hair and a hair on his forhead if that wasn’t the oldest thing then look at ht pitcure and add a pic of elvis pitcure before he died and tape it onto the guys pitcure in the casket it just wasn’t Elvis and then let’s talk about M.J i know some of Yall thought was that Micheal at the grammys singing with Justin timberlake I swear he’s alive or is everything I know there died but there music still is strong as it was yeterday
I know some of those people..Sometimes they even cant tell the difference between the real elvis pictures and Elvis impersonator photos..They bragging about pastor bob joyce is Elvis..LMAO..Pastor bob joyce not even close to elvis on his looks and voice..Elvis famous for his voice and singing style. they should have known its elvis voice or not.
Elvis is Dead. This man was given a gift from God! A beautiful singing voice!!! He used his gift to reach stardom. Then he lost control. He jokes on several articles on YouTube about the ladies he screwed. (his female fans) he became rich and used that money to get the drugs he didn’t really need. All the while singing gospel music. (bet that made jesus happy) Elvis was called home for a reason!
you say he is dead, well how disrespectful were the family, that he did not have an American flag draped over his casket, a military funeral,,at least a 21 gun salute. Elvis deserved that,, no friggin excuses. All that man did for mankind,, gave the shirt off his back, literally,,, and never even got a decent funeral,,long live Elvis,,our Rock and Roll King.I hope he is alive and got away from the hell hole he was living..
Where is the person who sang spelling on the stone if you bring him forward I will believe Elvis is dead. Also the person talking to some one who sound an talks just like Elvis bring them people out an then I will believe he died. Priscilla slipping on Oprah saying that’s what Elvis said the other day.something sounds fishie. Never heard priscilla an Lisa cry for there king Elvis. 84 years old may be dead now
