Yes I had this thought before but people argued with me saying “no because even the witch queen and Gordon’s father didn’t get any bit of clue that might lead to the fact that Asta is indeed a devil hybrid”..the thing they didn’t understand is that Asta was only in his human state/form this whole time so I said he needs to have some kind of transformation for others to tell that he’s indeed a hybrid of devil and human just like charmy but they didn’t listen so I stopped pushing my ideas to them haha
Okay hear me out on this one. It’s long but I think it’s worth your time. Everyone uses mana, they change it’s properties based on the style of magic they have. Asta doesn’t do that. I don’t think anti-magic is a style of magic but rather an opposing energy to mana. Instead of taking it and manipulating it to change it’s attributes he just uses it in it’s raw form. What if we go full yin and yang on this. Asta’s powers lie in manipulating both anti-magic AND mana in their pure forms. He was born without his own mana, and without a magical attribute. Liebe has the ability to use anti magic, Asta had the ability to use mana. For some reason, someone sealed that ability away. Maybe it was too dangerous, maybe if it wasn’t sealed he would have died from Licita’s magic. If his mana was completely sealed away, he wouldn’t have any mana for her to drain from him so it would be the only way he could be born. It was a different story for Liebe, and he realized his anti-magic after being sealed in the grimoire. We know this entire time Asta has been using Liebe’s powers. I think who ever put this seal on him is waiting patiently to remove it until Asta and Liebe are 100% in sync so that when Asta’s Pure magic is unleashed, rather than destroying each other they can create a perfect harmony. Yin and yang. Now as to who and how that’s up in the air. I think it’s possible that Julius/Astaroth/Lucius used time magic to just pause his magic from ever developing, right from the moment his soul existed.
I agree with this theory. I think that Asta has a power similar to Lecita’s magic by storing lifeforce and mana in a magic less container. The time magic affected the area that Asta was in. He absorbed the magic storing it inside himself & used it to make himself stronger. The Heart kingdom thought he was using reinforcement magic which would fit with storing & strengthening magic less objects which was also included with Lecita’s magic as well.
I has thinking maybe everyone becomes magicless at the end of the series. I could imagine Tabata will do a sequel that focuses on magic items and they have to find the magic them to key in order to defeat Lucius and the Supreme rulers,but maybe the angels will interfere in and the angels have a major factor that through the story. Hopefully I could see there’s a sequel to be parallel to Black Clover like we had seen in the beginning with finding the Elf stones and demons. I really hope we will get a sequel.🙏
Hey Yunami sir hear me out sir pls Don’t you think those abilities of the swords you mentioned are not just usable by Asta? I mean, there are some evidence that proves that anti-magic isn’t the sole reason why Asta was able to reflect magic using the demon slayer or the demon dweller.. Licht as well did that trick with the demon dweller when he reflected Yami’s dark slash towards Zagred..Asta can use the unique technique of the demon dweller sword as well, and the demon destroyer’s too which negates the cause-and-effect relationship of a spell as stated by Gauche when he was possessed by an elf. This means that Asta can use the abilities of the swords the same with how Licht used them. And the fact that he can, doesn’t it mean he also has sword as his attribute? But since he has no mana, Liebe provided anti-magic for the grimoire to serve as its fuel replacing magic. Anti-magic is the complete opposite of magic/mana, it’s not that complicated if we really think of it so I think anti-magic is just being used as replacement for magic to operate the grimoire. Licht uses mana so his magic is called sword magic, and Asta uses anti-magic so his power should be called anti-sword-magic. And the way Asta stores his swords inside the grimoire, I also believe it’s another evidence that his attribute is indeed sword (anti-sword-magic) not just anti-magic as we all thought..I mean, that “was” a “sword magic grimoire” so I had this idea that Licht can store his swords inside it as well because it’s a sword magic grimoire.
My theory is that Asta is indeed a Hybrid since he was able to get a 5 leaf but that 5 leaf had sword magic which isnt rly liebe’s magic its Asta’s. I think liebe in a way polluted the grimoire to make anti magic which just got added to Asta’s grimoire. If this is true then its possible for Liebe to get a grimoire and Asta to get a second grimoire giving them 3 abilities to work with. If the Yuno theory turns out to be true and he gets a third ability then it would make sense for Asta and Liebe to have 3 aswell brcause so far the show keeps it so that when one character gets a new ability or smthn then the other one does too.
Interesting article. As a heads up, I don’t think Yuno has a hybrid form or elven mama, because in order to fully use elven mana, you need an elven body. He has two spirits hence two attributes but only one mana source (his human mana) We know this because William confirmed the elven posessed only have a little bit of elven mana left. And being loved by mana only requires an elven soul (not body or mana) since Patry, Rya, Vetto and Fana were still loved by mana in their human forms. Not yo mention Witch Queen was confurmedvto have mana on the level of the elves yet wasn’t loved by mana, while Lumiere had more mana than any other elf to only be matched by Licht, yet he wasn’t loved by mana. Hybrid forms share the same grimoire that switches between attributes while Yuno has two totally separate grimoires.
What if in the final arc liebe dies somehow like in order to protect asta that would be great and then asta is just powerless also as we all know asta’s family background is really mysterious i mean there must be a reason so i guess he could be like from a huge clan from before (example uzumaki clan from Naruto or something like that)

I thought that Asta is the physical form of Liebe after he is sealed on the grimoire but its not likely to happen because i think Licita gave up Asta in the church after birth. Since she found Liebe around a kid’s age, she also knows how long it is after she left asta so i assumed that its not likely to happen. Because of her curse, she gave birth to a no magic child and the father is still unknown. Maybe the curse is acquainted with her having a child to a devil that can be manifested to have a physical form outside the world. I’m also thinking that asta might reverse the other page of his grimoire back to 4 leaf clover because his mother have a sealing magic. He might have that same light magic but instead of using his own mana which he doesn’t have, he will harness mana from the nature and enemies to use the light magic. It would make sense because the anti magic sword can absorb curses and also mana which is also used by the elf leader. I’m excited on how the story will continue
i think asta’s second magic is quintessence. it’s also referred to as aether, which is the fifth element in medieval science. aether is sometimes described as soul/spirit as well. in black clover the soul is the link to magic itself. so possibly i can see asta having the magic ability to control magic itself. Asta’s second grimoire for this is Lucius’s Grimoire and him and liebe will eventually split apart with liebe taking his place as the King of the Underworld I can see asta having an ability similar to Ang in Avatar, where he can give and take away a persons ability to use magic and him bridging the underworld and overworld together.

I wonder Tabata’s planning to do a reboot of Hungry Joker as a sequel to Black Clover that will take place in Black Clover verse with Liebe gets reincarnates into a clone body of Asta that created by Sally. I could imagine he winds up fighting Demon/Human hybrids that created by Spade Kingdom and Lucius (that has taken over Yuno’s body) and finds an angel girl that he must to protect her. Probably he will team up with side characters (like Mars, Fanzell,Hana, Kahono from Sea Temple, and Marcella) to find Black Bulls and reunite with Asta (that everyone thinks he’s dead) to bring down Lucius/Yuno and his demon/Human hybrids army…Hopefully if we will get a sequel, I have a feeling that Black Clover will end very similar to the Eclipse Arc in Berserk where Yuno’s body has taken over by Lucius and he made everyone magicless with using Liebe’s anti-magic with Swallowtail. I could picture in the sequel that Asta have bionic arms and working as a blacksmith in the Dwarven city,but he don’t want to fight and wants to make magic swords to help people to fend off demons. All the hybrid talk is cool but the witch queen said he’s just a nobody not “one of them” or some such. And with hindsight ‘them’ probably referred to the devils. Or even if it didn’t she still checked his blood(and by proxy DNA) out and found nothing. It’s the word of an immortal Witch Queen with powers over blood and themes of family in her characterization. Speaking of themes and characterization Asta having some special Hybrid stuff would make all his null and void. Asta works hard because he’s not special. Yuno works hard despite being special(Royal + elf mana + ratio).(we don’t get much on screen training but that works because the implication is he is paralleling Asta at all times with training and stuff.) Noelle had to work hard to meet the expectations/standards of a royal and through hard work surpassed (arguably) all of her siblings. It would be a story telling monkey wrench that broke Naruto’s story to a lot of people. We don’t need Wizard Jesus just like we didn’t need Ninja Jesus.
A few problems with this theory. It wouldn’t matter if he way a half breed like Charmy because his body doesn’t produce mana, do to it being sucked out of him in his mother’s womb. So ether way he can’t cast spells cause no magic. If you want proof of this look at the chapters where asta meets the eye of the midnight sun for the second time. The old nun says she doesn’t know if the kids who had all there magic sucked out of them would ever get it back. Meaning if a child had there magic sucked for nine months straight they would completely have no magic power. To your point about them not being able to detect the second magic attribute in the half breeds. From everything I’ve seen they can detect magic power they have and not the type. Also yuno is not a halfbreed the elf soul in side of him is but he is not, and he probably won’t be getting a third magic attribute do to fact that is wind magic is already a combination of the parents of the elf spirit. That’s how he can make bows and swords out of wind. The first magic emperor realizes this when yuno makes a sword out of wind in the fight with the devil and says as much. Lastly it was said half breeds can have two magic attributes. Implying Not all do and since we’ve only seen the magic of two half breeds, one a combination of his parents and one with two two separate attributes I’m going to say the ladder is very rear.
I hope Asta doesn’t turn out to actually be Liebe himself. Cause what if Asta is thrown back in time in the demon world by Astaroth and reborn as a demon. With no memories of his past life. That Lucius/Julius say ‘Asta will die’ thing because if Asta doesn’t than Liebe would not exist to meet with the next verzion of Asta. Trap in an endless time loop where Astaroth has command over it.
I am a fan who disagrees with Asta being a Devil Hybrid. i do believe that Asta’s father was a powerful wizard from another country. The first clue of Asta’s father coming from another country was his absence before the birth of his son Asta. Even more ironic, there has only been one wizard in the series to date. The wizard is Drouot the Hage Village Grimoire Librarian. So far, only one vlog was focus on Drouot. There have been no Vlogs which focus on the Wizards of the world and their absence. Even in a fantasy like Block Clover, there should have been more information about Wizards.. Due to Asta’s own strength, he may be a Demigod. A demigod is half human and half god. It is more likely that Asta’s father is a son of one of the Kami Gods. Asta’s father can still be a wizard despite being a son of a Kami God. While a large art of Asta’s personality had inherited from his mother, his strength should solve the mystery of his father. Asta’s father is still alive as well as Noelle’s father and Yuno’s mother. Oddly each member of the Light Triad happens to be an orphan who had lost one of his parents. When it comes to Asta.s father, Tabata has been giving us many clues left and right. The majority of the clues about Asta’s father which Tabata had are red herrings. One of the best clues which Tabata had given focus on the identities of the members of the Light Triad. The Light Triad was form in response to the presence of the Dark Triad. Oddly the births of the three members have occurred with a period two Months.
Asta could have not been affected by time magic… Asta has anti-magic, I think anti magic affects the whole body of the owner of the magic itself… Practically anti-magic is still magic… If Asta was affected by the Time Magic during Spade Arc… Then Asta does not have anti-magic, but then he was in devil union when Time Magic was used to them… Contradicts the power of anti-magic… Can we say Asta also have Time Magic?
I think that would be dumb and kinda contradict the point of black clover and what Asta stands for. Like the same they did for Naruto. If Liebe will turn out to be Yuno, I could see it will end with a cliffhanger that’s similar to end of Eclipse Arc where Lucius has taken over Yuno’s body and ends up ruling four Kingdoms as his empire. Probably everyone will end up losing their magic and Asta is only one got his magic,but I think he will lose both of his arms (has possible foreshadows with the Witch’s Forest and the end of Lucifero’s fight)…Hopefully we will get a sequel out of it. Because I could see Asta will get bionic arms from the Dwarves in the sequel. I could imagine Yuno/Liebe will wake up in a clone body of Asta but a more like slender, taller version of him.
