You can use the rune spells to level up quicker as it tends to give you more exp per use then other spells at that level. You could also put a fire rune on the ground over like a grease trap and lure someone over it. Its not practical but it can have fun usages. You can also use runes to kill someone from a distance without getting caught.
My most favorite spells are Destruction:novice spells/aprentice spells/and adept level spells/fire/ice/lightning, they all have its uses even if you use them on nords/vampires/ dunmers/etc,lightning the most unique but it cost the most in magicka/mana cost expert level spells very powerful but the cost imho is ridiculously big,vampire drain can be upgraded during valkhihar quest line,you can also gain vampire drain spell via fishing quest line,also i like all the conjuration spells both conjure weapons sword/axe/bow,conjure atronach’s,and summon dremora lord good too but you can summon daedra aid via sanguine rose imho,also multiple reanimate spells but i also love summonable undead from soul cairn,illusion also very useful, once i thought it was useless but than i found it double edged sword,you either using it for purpose or just exp same goes for alteration it also have some useful spells but it’s also mostly utility spells like illusion you either use it for builds mage armor perks etc (i use armor on my mage builds imho) or again for gold ore equilibrium or just exp,and restoration magic spells if you level it pretty high you mostly can forget about healing potions although alchemy as a whole very useful thing to upgrade dont get me wrong,and i forget about elemental cloaks spells, they all good,but it seems fire cloak do imho more damage, although I’m not that into frost spells that much but ice storm/whirlwind imho the most aoe damage spell in game despite its beeing frost,again in destruction skill tree fire low cost most damage/ice damage health with stamina and slight slow effect but if you have that perk than slow effect tripled/lightning not that many enemies have resistance to lightning and it instant strike, expert level despite big mana cost so much damage but again cost alot of magicka especially its strong version that castable from two hands although my favorite is chain lightning, master level destruction is shit imho never used them know how they work but again i consider them very bad in design, so yeath thats basically it,I’m apologize for this enormous wall of text 😅,great article 😊👍.
Ignite is one of the most broken spells in the game. Once you get the perks, the buff it. You can get up to 21 damage per with aspect of terror, intense flames and Ahzidal mask. Even more if you account for dual casting and it only taking half a second to shoot. So you can really get it up to 42 damage per hit not accounting Necromage buff if you’re a vampire.
