The Walking Wounded is a 2007 album by American singer Vinnie Caruana, who is the lead vocalist for Long Island punk band The Movielife and lead singer/songwriter for the indie/post-punk band I Am The Avalanche. The song features lyrics such as “I’m weak like a one-armed boxer”, “They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns”, “Duality”, and “Carry On”. Caruana has won several awards, including the Candidates earlier this year and the Olympiad with his team, scoring an impressive 9 out of 10 on the first board.
Caruana’s solo set includes songs from The Movielife, I Am The Avalanche, and more. He has also appeared on several albums, including “A Rite of Passage” and “Popular Science”. The album was produced by Kenny Gioia and Shep Goodman, with Chris Guglielmo writing the lyrics.
Pre-production was done at buddyproject.com in Astoria, NY, and Caruana appeared on “The Walking Wounded” courtesy of Drive-Thru Records. He capped the song off superbly with a guest spot on “A Rite of Passage” Bayside.
The album details Caruana’s personal evolution from a child coming-of-age in a Christian community, whose education, rites of passage, holidays, and other aspects of life were deeply ingrained in his life. The album’s production was handled by Jim Winters, who played a significant role in the album’s recording sessions.
