Immolate is a powerful, unique spell that increases the damage of skills capable of hitting, such as Scorching Ray and Righteous Fire. It only applies to enemies that are burning, such as Ignited ones. The Immolation Support gem grants additional fire damage with hits against burning enemies. At level 20, Immolate adds a flat 205 to 308 damage, while an angry spell adds 83 to 138 flat fire damage.
As a solo fire PvE at around level 53 in Celestia, Immolate is a good choice for solo fire PvEs. It generates a Soul Shard Fragment when it ticks and additional Fragment on critical turns. Immolate is a high DPET, mana neutral DOT, and benefits from Destruction mastery. It deals both direct damage and damage over time, with an emphasis on the latter.
Immolate can work well with any fire spell, except Scorching Ray and Flameblast. However, it may not be the best option for specific scenarios. In a recent session, a Wizard cast Immolate on an opposing wizard and did enough damage to kill the already damaged target.
A guildie asked about Druid Spell: Immolate because it didn’t seem to be damaging the mob. A guildie tested this on a lion in North Karana and found that Immolate dealt 200 fire damage to the caster to deal 600 fire. However, Immolate does not do any damage after recent patch Spells.
In summary, Immolate is a powerful, unique spell that increases the damage of certain skills, such as Scorching Ray and Righteous Fire, only when the enemy is burning. It is a versatile spell that can be used in various scenarios, but its effectiveness depends on the specific scenario.

Can you stack poison spells?
Poison Spells are the first Dark Spell unlocked in the Dark Spell Factory, which is automatically unlocked once the Town Hall is at level 8. They slow down all enemy Clan Castle Troops, Heroes, and Skeletons within its area of effect and cause them to take damage over time. However, buildings remain unaffected from Poison Spells. The Poison Spell slowly ramps up in damage the longer a unit stays poisoned, and the effect lasts for an additional 6 seconds after the unit leaves the poison radius.
It can also slow the movement and attack speed of opposing heroes down, except for the Grand Warden, which is a defensive building on defense. Despite not being a popular strategy, Poison Spells can be used to stack damage, making it possible to kill any Clan Castle units with enough spells.

What is the pain of immolation?
Self-immolation is a practice that involves using accelerants to ignite themselves, which can result in hotter flames and deeper, more extensive burns. This excruciating process can lead to nerve damage and loss of sensation at the burnt areas. Some self-immolators may die during the act due to inhalation of toxic combustion products, hot air, and flames. The human body has an inflammatory response to burnt skin, leading to blood and body fluid loss.
If the self-immolator is not taken to a burn center within four hours, they are more likely to die from shock. Survival rates vary depending on the burn area and the self-immolator’s age. Self-immolation is tolerated by some elements of Mahayana Buddhism and Hinduism, and has been practiced for centuries, especially in India, for various reasons, including jauhar, political protest, devotion, and renouncement.
An example from mythology is the practice of Sati, where the Hindu goddess Parvati set herself on fire after her father insulted her in Daksha Yajna. Shiva, Parvati, and their army of ghosts attacked the sacrifice, and Shiva beheaded Daksha.

📹 Immolate & Conflagrate Build Guide – Ascension Season 9
Immolate + Conflagrate is by far the highest damage and best caster build in Ascension, by far and its not even close.
If this article gets 200 likes, im gonna do a livestream Can see people have different ideas and theoies, if snapshot still works so i went and tested again I went to a dummy, and casted an immolate kept refreshing it with Chaos Bolt. The tic is with 10 stacks of Elemental Destruction each test, and 0 other buffs: with 0 buffs, Immolate tic: 920 With 8% dmg, immolate tic 1013 With Arcane Power, immolate tic: 1064 With both buffs 8%+AP, immolate tic: 1171 With Fired Up proc(100% crit). immolate will keep critting even after you fresh it with Chaos Bolt Hope this help ^^ bonus tip: Penance & Icy Penance could also work to trigger the % dmg inc, just like Arcane Missiles. Other spells with multiple hits works aswell Other updates: Dont think the weapon swap are that worth it now, since you CANT snap pure Spell Power. The 2% dmg that stacks 4 times, can ONLY be stacked from 1 souce. Even if you have two diffrent talents, like meantioned with Arcane Divinity. So that combo dosent work, sadly..
Like the idea and seems like it could be effective for sure, but I think the highest dmg I’ve seen so far was someone using nature modifiers for Thunderstorm and the spell that takes it place, can’t remember the name. Someone in a heroic I was in though hit for almost 100k with a crit from what recount said. Keep the articles coming love to see the theory crafts
Great article! so about dots. afaik ascension is 335 client based, so in 335 server affliction warlocks do the same with corruption. “When Corruption is refreshed, the crit rating is not updated to the actual crit rating of your character or the actual crit debuffs on the mob. Instead, the crit rating you had when you applied the first Corruption keeps “rolling” as long as you keep refreshing it. The same is true for percentual damage increases, namely Tricks of the Trade and Death’s Embrace”. So i guess it works the same for every refreshed dot.
Late on commenting, but generally debuffs on the enemy are dynamic, there may be exceptions rarely, but id put them under the unintended bracket This basically means midnight flames, pyrolate and other such effects affect the abilities specifically while the debuffs are on the target Also while im at it, in case of conflag, it will prioritise the first applied immolate towards damage calculation and then shadowflame (if on target ofc)
Great article! Format and layout for explaining scalings, numbers and strategies is excellent, something people doing articles on other very mechanically deep games cough PoE cough could learn from. Edit: Also, thank you for not using some repetitive stale background music. It is a gamble, it might work, but it is a high-risk low-reward gamble 🙂
Fun and sad addition to the highest dmg in the game. That was and possibly still is astral storm with the correct set up it would crit for over 100k dmg. With healer gear and missing requirements the highest I got was 98k. This was also nerfed by 100% dmg. So where it sits now I don’t currently know.
First off Great build guide man! About the Snapshotting though. I thought that Ascension made it so that DoTs Dynamically update as you get increases or decreases to stats? That’s how I was lead to understand it anyways because the effects of Elemental Destruction and Midnight Flames wouldn’t work otherwise right?
