Can The Consciousness Be Connected To Tarot Cards?

Tarot cards are a powerful tool for self-discovery, guidance, and connection with higher consciousness. They act as a bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind, allowing individuals to connect with their intuition and unlock the deeper messages of the cards. The process involves shuffled and drawn cards, which trigger intuitive responses and associations. However, there is no scientific evidence supporting the idea that tarot cards can connect with consciousness.

Tarot readings can serve as a gateway between our conscious and unconscious minds, revealing hidden truths and offering guidance for our spiritual journey. By focusing on the meaning and symbolism of each card, we can bypass the conscious mind and connect with our intuition. The connection between psychology and tarot reading can be boiled down to how the illustrious symbols and pictures on the cards drive the human mind to associate the images and meanings of the cards to fit the question you’re asking.

The tarot deck is sentient and conscious with a mind and will (and personality) of its own, or a type of living individual being with higher consciousness. For many practitioners and seekers, tarot offers something deeper: a gateway to connecting with a universal consciousness, which is your primal consciousness. The majority of psychic gifts and intuition reside here in your lower nature.

However, there is a downside to tarot cards: they can be unpredictable. When a Tarot reader lays out a spread, the cards might serve as triggers, activating deep-seated archetypal images and themes in the spread. Tarot cards are an effective tool of self-reflection on the journey on individuation, serving as bridges to the unconscious and illuminating the unconscious. They are a part of practices that many people call magic, as they foster self-awareness and are often used as divinatory and meditation tools.

Are tarot cards mysticism?

Tarot cards, originally used by Italian nobles and aristocrats as playing cards, evolved into a cornerstone of mysticism and spiritual exploration. They were initially used for skill, strategy, and luck in a game called “tarocchi”. However, they also had hidden potential for unraveling life’s mysteries, divining the future, and exploring the human psyche. Italy played a significant role in this transformation, with the Visconti-Sforza deck, created in the mid-15th century for the Duke of Milan, being one of the earliest surviving tarot decks. The deck’s intricate imagery and symbolism hint at a deeper, more mystical purpose, yet to be fully revealed.

What is the science behind tarot?

Tarot cards, a tool with a long history dating back nearly 700 years, have been used by people to predict the future and understand their inner issues, desires, and motivations. The major arcana of Tarot is believed to be based on the Egyptian hieroglyphic book of Thoth, also known as the book of Tarot. The use and interpretation of Tarot cards can be divided into two explanations: paranormal and nonparanormal.

The paranormal explanation claims that Tarot cards reveal hidden motives, portray opportunities, and offer a reflection of a person’s inner processes, providing clarity regarding questions or conflicts. The nonparanormal explanation argues that the entire phenomenon of Tarot cards can be explained by examining two simple psychological effects: the Barnum effect and “cold reading”.

Many standard Tarot decks follow the same 78-card structure, which is divided into the minor arcana (56 cards) and the major arcana (22 cards). The major arcana represents the main themes of human life, such as love, death, spirituality, acceptance, etc., while the minor arcana represents subtle mysteries of life.

The popularity of Tarot cards has continued to flourish, even in western societies, as it provides insight into how using the cards can influence our thought processes and mental state. Occultists believe that the cards reveal information about the quality of a moment for an individual, rather than predicting the future as if it is fixed. By creating more awareness about the meaning of a specific moment, clients can gain important insights and drive them to take control of their own lives and make changes that will be beneficial in the long run.

The nonparanormal explanation examines the use of Tarot cards through the lens of psychological effects, with the Barnum effect being the most emphasized. This effect suggests that vague predictions or general personality descriptions, such as those offered by Tarot or astrology, have specific applications to one’s unique circumstances. Cold reading, a set of deceptive psychological techniques, involves the use of sharp observational skills and a good memory when examining a client. Cues such as a client’s clothing, physical characteristics, and manner of speech can reveal valuable information that a reader can use to inform their statements regarding the topic of their reading.

What did Carl Jung say about tarot cards?

In his concept of “Individuation,” Jung suggests that the Tarot can be utilized as a tool for personal growth and self-development. This is achieved by enabling intuitive knowing in the conscious mind through the accessing of subconscious information.

What are tarot cards linked to?

Court de Gébelin claimed that the name “Tarot” came from the Egyptian words Tar, meaning “path” or “road”, and Ro, Ros, or Rog, meaning “King” or “royal”, translating to “the Royal Road of Life”. However, Egyptologists found no evidence to support his etymologies. The belief that the tarot cards are linked to the Egyptian Book of Thoth continues to this day.

The actual source of the occult tarot can be traced to two articles in volume eight, one written by Court de Gébelin and one written by M. le C. de M.***, identified as Major General Louis-Raphaël-Lucrèce de Fayolle, Comte de Mellet. The author makes no acknowledgement of de Gébelin and contradicts him over details such as the meaning of the word “Tarot” and how the cards spread across Europe.

Court de Gébelin made the first statements proposing that the tarot was “The Book of Thoth” and made the first association of tarot with cartomancy. He was also the first to imply the existence of a connection between the Tarot and Romani people, although this connection did not become well established in the public consciousness until other French authors began in the 1850s to promote the theory that tarot cards had been brought to Europe by the Romani.

Cartomancer Jean-Baptiste Alliette (also known as Etteilla) was the first to assign divinatory meanings to the tarot cards in 1783.

What mythology are tarot cards from?

In English-speaking countries, cartomantic tarot cards are available for novelty and divination. Early French occultists claimed tarot cards had esoteric links to ancient Egypt, Kabbalah, the Indic Tantra, or I Ching. However, scholarly research shows that tarot cards were invented in northern Italy in the mid-15th century and no significant use of tarot cards for divination until the late 18th century. Historians describe western views of the Tarot pack as a “successful propaganda campaign”.

The earliest evidence of a tarot deck used for cartomancy comes from an anonymous manuscript from around 1750. The popularization of esoteric tarot started with Antoine Court and Jean-Baptiste Alliette (Etteilla) in Paris during the 1780s, using the Tarot of Marseilles. French tarot players abandoned the Marseilles tarot in favor of the Tarot Nouveau around 1900, and the Marseilles pattern is now mostly used by cartomancers. Etteilla was the first to produce a bespoke tarot deck specifically designed for occult purposes around 1789, containing themes related to ancient Egypt.

What is the psychology behind tarot cards?

Tarot readings involve the use of symbolism, intuition, and the human psyche to access the collective unconscious and deeper layers of awareness. This process aligns with psychological concepts like archetypes, symbolism, and narrative therapy, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and symbolism in shaping our understanding of ourselves and the world. Three factors contributing to transformation following a tarot session include positive expectations, the placebo effect, and the belief in the effectiveness of the treatment. This optimistic outlook can lead to real improvements in well-being.

  • Psychics, tarot card readers, empaths are a nice resource if they are in fact authentic. Remember we are all online you have “people” sitting back studying, learning the language to mess you up. When dealing with a psychic most often you will be able to go to them and pay 10 dollars to ask two questions. Stay woke…🤦🤷❤️…infj, pisces, Rh negative here…

  • I am with ya! Um, I haven’t had any legit reading, but 2 suspect ones. Now the 1st time I got palm reading….phenomenal. I did a bit of research 1st so, I knew which hand represented the past and the other the present. I have 1 major line on my hand totally broken and starts again vs, a very even past. Dude really drove it home about how strong the gift was with me, and I have heard things throughout life like I used to work fast food drive thru. This lady was like wow you aura is strong! And yes a past tarot reading the person told me I have the spiritual gift. Through my own research, I feel I need a soul retrieval as all the trauma throughout life I have endured causes all that damage to the aura/protective layers/electrical outer body etc. There are specific expansions and holes I have that need to be healed and I will have much better protection. I am also looking to do a baptism of sorts, but not religious and its proving to be a problem.

  • My sister is starting to work more with tarot cards today she was in the car with me shuffling them as I came out of the bank, and she dropped one next to her seat but didn’t realize, after 30 seconds I decided to grab it for her and it was the king of pinnacles which apparently represents coming across a lot of financial stability and wealth. She asked me “you coming across a lot of money or something bro?” and sure enough I have more money saved in my account than I ever have had in my life, tarot cards are real even when your not in a full reading they like to tell you the truth.

  • Tarot cards informed me of the sexual misconduct, possible trafficking at work. then they informed me about mental mind games and cruelty that was referring to the gangstalking. I even did a reading the day I got the job and it mentioned debauchery, I had no idea what it was talking about till after a little while there with all the people and their uncontrollable sex and drug use.

  • I’m a tarot reader and some of my ppl cards I read for them they just don’t get it. People are so programmed. I hate it. These people souls are caged. I wish I could make them see but people are so scared of the truth. They never listen to the spiritual advice but they focus only on the material shit.

  • Enoch everything you said is sooooo true like I’m learning about tarot sage crystals and certain people in my family laughs at me for not eating meat like I use to calls me a witch or voodoo and that I work for the devil and All I say is ur not wok work and look within and maybe youl understand I just can resonate so hard with all the articles and information you say and thank you so much for sharing such knowlege

  • this message is very true. i use tarot cards and i’m always amazed at the information my spirits reveal to me. only thing i will say is that protection during a reading is very important. when you do readings you are opening a portal between the physical and spiritual realm. i personally have never had any problems but i taught to always protect ones self while reading. Many blessings to you and much love. 🔮❤️

  • I watched this vid around 12 in the afternoon I think the day you made it and at the end of that night my neighbor she gave me my own set she said your first set should always be giving to you I didn’t even ask she did give me a reading to a couple days before everything definitely happens for a reason

  • Awesome article Enoch thanks for talking about this subject because it’s so important and overlooked. Tarot cards are a great way to interact with the spirit world and open yourself up to your true potential! They have helped me in so many ways I would recommend it to anyone. Each card has an inner and outer meaning, a divine meaning and an overall archetype. I could talk about them all day! Haha

  • I have to interject on that …. sometimes spirits lie well the bad ones I’ve been lied too I’m just realizing that they lied to me they had me fight evil spirits for a man who is not in my life right like we don’t even speak! So I’m totally in belief that they lie or things change. But I’d like an update once they do. But have to say you’re correct the cards DON’T lie
