A mystic is a person who seeks to awaken, glimpse, and reclaim their innate spiritual Oneness at the core of their being. They are driven to surrender their ego and orient their lives toward deeply integrating the primordial truth that they are an individual. Mystics often engage in deep contemplation, meditation, and spiritual practices to gain insight and understanding. They seek to experience direct knowledge of God, the spiritual realms, and divine mysteries.
Mysticism is popularly known as becoming one with God or the Absolute, but may refer to any kind of ecstasy or altered state of consciousness given a religious or spiritual meaning. It may also refer to the practice of religious ecstasies, along with ideologies, ethics, rites, myths, legends, and magic. The hiddenness of the spiritual is an important characteristic of mysticism. Some mystics have referred to a “spiritual” sense, corresponding to the perceptual senses, appropriate to a non-physical realm.
A mystic may be defined as someone who practices mysticism and engages in spiritual acts of self-surrender to experience the sense of union with a certain deity (or deities). There are general characteristics that apply to those who refer to themselves as mystics.
Mysticism is a particularly focused part of spirituality, aiming at and believing in the attainment of such union. Mysticism is the spiritual encounter with a sacred mystery that cannot be put into words but may be embodied through feelings, conscious awareness, and experience. Mysticism refers to a deeper-seated orientation to life, as opposed to the adoption of one isolated practice. It cannot be tacked on to any arbitrary activity.

It’s true! There is a fine line between mental illness and mysticism; this happened to me! I thought I was schizophrenic for years, but my journey led me to self-realization about my true path. The ‘experiences’ of connecting with Source, other beings and other realms is what makes someone ‘different’ and mystical in nature.
The true Mystic leads a life like all others, the difference is, the Mystic knows it is in control. Have you ever thought of an old friend to have them show up at you door, or the everyday experience of thinking of a song to have it start up on your radio . These are mystical experiences, you see, you have created it.
Everytime someone dies i play the song natural mystic by bob Marley It’s a special song that has defined the most intense moments. Watch it when his body is driven to the funeral and you see the ppl line the country roads for miles in Jamaica. It touches my soul. We are all dust in the wind. The mist. Your mystical soul. There’s a natural mystic blowing through the air If you listen carefully now you will hear This could be the first trumpet Might as well be the last Many more will have to suffer Many more will have to die, don’t ask me why Things are not the way they used to be I won’t tell no lie One and all have to face reality now Though I’ve tried to find the answer To all the questions they ask Though I know it’s impossible To go livin’ through the past – don’t tell no lie There’s a natural mystic blowing through the air Can’t keep them down If you listen carefully now you will hear There’s a natural mystic, blowing through the air This could be the first trumpet Might as well be the last Many more will have to suffer Many more will have to die, don’t ask me why There’s a natural mystic blowing through the air I won’t tell no lie If you listen carefully now you will hear There’s a natural mystic blowing through the air Such a natural mystic, blowing through the air There’s a natural mystic blowing through the air Such a natural mystic, blowing through the air Such a natural mystic, blowing through the air Such a natural mystic, blowing through the air…
Wonderful. Thank you for sharing these thoughts and for the affirmations and reaffirmations that I feel from them. In your comments you have a sidebar mention of mental illnesses and say something to the effect of these topics needing a whole book to explore. You also talk about mainstream society. I have thought of mainstream society as if it was a single entity that I sometimes have felt in tune with and sometimes almost completely rejected by. Perhaps this is the feeling of being a wolf, in a pack and then a lone Wolf. Your website, work, and the spontaneous and heartfelt enthusiasm which it generates I think demonstrates that you may be a lone wolf but one is never truly alone, indeed surely non-duality shows that one is part of a greater one that is there is a thin line between alone and all one and it is the misapprehension of this that is loneliness. It is my experience that whatever I have from time to time feared and believed, even in the certain belief that I was somehow born to be broken and misunderstood and lonely and unloved and unlovable and in fighting against this slipped inexorably into hell such that I saw everything I had fought so hard to protect and conserve and nurture slipping away and judging myself a failure and doomed to hell that I was mistaken. Hope moved into my blind spot and I lost sight of all hope. Hope did not lose sight of me and showed me my blind spot. I think this is the thing that is ineffable, it is what creates a sort of tragicomic inevitability in writing about something that acts with anything but compassion other than ourselves.
Thank you.♡ As I listen I am also doing a checklist ~ yes, no, maybe, for sure, never thought of it like that, (more often that). The final thoughts are these; I think yes/agree I am that and then ask me, have I done enough to claim that? Am I missing things obvious/obscure, oblivious? I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. Loved this article♡
The people commenting here claiming they are mystics or have experienced mysticism missed the whole plot of this article. Publicly claiming that you are one is just a gratification of the ego, which is already a violation to mysticism. Once you understand or actually have experienced the real deal..you won’t need to flunt it. You may have been on the process or few steps away, but your ego came in the way and insisted that you celebrate. Real enlightenment is not that simple and all rainbows. It’s either you fully understand it and make you smile knowing you can harness it, OR you’ll go mad to the point of losing your mind and even your soul, that you don’t even want to speak or hear about it.
I was raised in a christian home, went to Bible College, and walked away because i just couldn’t BE something that is not who I am, and I couldn’t believe there was a God who only saves the Lucky few who have even heard of Jesus out of the gagillian people that have lived thru out all of time – all parts of the globe. I dismissed all of it. 30 years later- I had a NDE type experience just last year. It is through my new understanding of reality-and through Aaron, that I finally at age 53 have gotten to know the true Jesus. I will always have so much gratitude for this website. I am so excited for this new series.
Gotta tell ya man. I was lost in evangelical religion and feel found in Christ Consciousness. The way you communicate and share what you’ve learned has been an amazing blessing to me. I now understand what it means to be born again- to die to this egoic belief of dualism and to be reborn in the belief that I was always one and complete. And so is everyone else. Thank you 🙏🏻
Once, a Christian found a Zen master and asked if the master had ever read the Bible. “No.” Said the master. “Would you like to hear it?” Said the Christian. “Sure.” Said the master. The Christian began reading from the Sermon on the Mount. Halfway through the passage, the Zen master interrupted and said, “Whoever uttered these words is a truly enlightened being. This is the essence of everything we are trying to teach here in the Zen temple.” I loved this article Aaron! I’ve gained many insights from this one. I was raised Catholic but I only began to understand Jesus’ teachings after studying Buddhism, Advaita, and Nonduality. Beautiful work! 🙏🏻❤
Ya pal. I’m a 45 year old carpenter started my spiritual journey a little over 10 years ago. You put the hundreds of lessons, hundreds of teachers, al together as one and make it all flow in to a consciousness that feel in my soul. I cant even articulate my friend. Just thank you so very much, I will share your beautiful messages as often as I can. So much love and appreciation for you my brother ❤
At 23, in rehab, I read “And lo, I am with you always…” and had a profound oneness moment of aliveness and love. Sadly, the church taught me I was going to hell for eternity for being LGBT. I took this mystical path your teaching, and over time came to the realization that this truly is how to know and experience God. So glad you’ve started this series.
This is so true, thank you for bringing the light to people!!!! I grew up as a Jehovas witness, but it was actually when I distanced myself from the religion I found the truth about Jesus, oneness with him and God as love. In the mountains, nature and out at the sea I learned more about Jesus and God than many years inside the’ church’🙏 Its also very exciting to read the apocrypha, about the Ebionites/Nasarene as well and the forgotten gospel of Jesus. Jesus understood the oneness, also with with the animals and he spoke against blood sacrifice. I am so thankful for having him in my life, John8:31,32 “the truth will set you free. 🌹
As ironic as it may sound, you are the greatest pastor I’ve ever listened to. Thank you Aaron. I was suicidal and had a NDE (overdose) and sought explanation from many sources with the church being one of them but nothing they taught resonated with my encounter with “God”. The only time i resonated with the church was when we read about Jesus and his teachings. The Love Jesus preached was the same ineffable, incomprehensible Love that gave me a second chance and flipped my life 180. I literally died (or at least i thought i did) and was reborn again. I was a completely different person dead to my old sins. From the moment i woke up in the hospital, all i wanted to do was to share with everyone the Love, even if only a fraction of it, that was shown to me. I knew everything was perfect and i couldn’t help but see God in everything. The answer i had been looking for my entire life was right in front of me the entire time. It was so obvious i couldn’t see it. God IS. Love IS. Love is the ultimate unifier. So just let go and trust. Everything is connected. We’re all one. We’re all each other. Everyone was me and i was everyone. You are Life and Life is you. The observer and the observed are one. All is one. We suffer because we sow division and we try to separate. Through this we literally create our own Hell and become the King of it. Every time they would read passages, i sensed a difference in the way i read it vs the way they read it and you explained the difference perfectly.
Aaron, I normally do not write comments but I’ve got to tell you, perusal and listening to your teachings for a year now, and I feel like I’m coming home, like my world is starting to make sence! It’s an amazing feeling to have all these truth’s come together that were all once pieces of lies scattered throughout my psyche! What I’m trying to say is that i Can not express my appreciate for your time, efforts, and the reliable Knowledge that YOU share with us All!! Sending you much love and light. Thank You friend
This one Aaron…this one has special meaning to me…I can’t thank you enough…I turned to Christian fundamentalism when I was 18, I’m now 57…I spent years evangelizing and teaching the brutal damnation/salvation message… mostly to children, as the universe would have it, one of my three children was born severely handicapped, and to this day at 27 she does not speak and is still in diapers….my (so called faith) was tested in ways I hadn’t begun to imagine…as the reality of all of the worlds suffering along with the brutal teachings from my fundamental circles I eventually after decades caved in ….and admitted, down deep inside I did not believe that something as marvelous as the concept of an all powerful God could ever be so cruel….or indifferent to such suffering…I ended up leaving the church around five years ago and finally admitted to my wife and other two children I no longer could say I believed the scriptures…as a fundamentalist this was so difficult..nonetheless I could not keep lying to myself….I became determined to ignore all spiritual pursuits and focus on my family and friends…then one day my brother n law recommended the Power of Now!… wow! Did the light come back and in such a dramatic and wonderful way….then I found this website…I truly can’t say thank you enough..you bring light into my darkness!
Love these articles . I couldn’t get into Christianity because it seemed so judgemental and dogmatic, I can never agree with ideas such as being gay is wrong . However because of my perceptions of Christianity, the word “Jesus” and “Christians” kind of make me cringe and I immediately shun these messages out ( LOL this is like the opposite of your experience) But now I realized I am missing out on a lot of Jesus’ original wisdom, so THANK YOU AARON❤️❤️ you’re truly an amazing teacher !!
“The end of religion is the beginning of spirituality; the end of spirituality is the beginning of Reality and the end of Reality is the real Bliss. When that too is gone, we have reached the destination. That is the highest mark which is almost inexpressible in words.” One of my favourite quotes by Babuji… This is also where Christ and Buddha ended up on there journey, ultimately in the end words fall short
Thank you for this article. A reference from the Bible which makes it all clear to me is: “I know mine and am known of mine”. It always spoke to me, I give thanks. When you said Jesus Christ is your guru, I think I shed a tear. Beautiful article– so many more people are coming to know THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. We long for it, it is obscured from us no longer. Amen I say to you.
I grew up in the Nazarene church, stopped going in my late teens because I no longer felt comfortable there . I always felt something just wasn’t filling me up that there must be more to this. Since that time I have tried to find other churches, I just have always felt spiritual not religious. I am so glad I have found you. I love the way you explain things. Thank you Aaron for doing this. My heart sings again for Christ.
Thank you Aaron. Your story reflects so much of my own. My mom is a christian fanatic who even still pushes her fanaticism unto me, my cousin is travelling to be a catholic priest, and the rest of my family suffers from extreme judgement. None of what they said ever made sense to me. It pushed me so far from Jesus that I couldn’t even hear his name anymore. When I pursued my own spiritual path and began understanding the law of one, a decade ago, that I was able to recognize my own deep connection to Jesus and find the deeper meaning of my life’s journey to discover this exact understanding. Here is what I learned: Christianity, if studied in terms of an adult relationship is abusive. You are taught from birth that there is something wrong with you, you will always be sinful by nature, your only chance at becoming better is through Jesus but you will never be equal, if you make a mistake you will be punished forever unless god decides to save you. This is an abusive relationship by definition – it is SPIRITUAL ABUSE.
You have such a gift for explaining things and your calm voice helps to relax the mind and help the message get across. I was also raised in the church and it was only through leaving “Christianity” did I find the truth. Your articles on the Law of One helped bring me to the light and I am forever grateful to you. 🙂
Jesus is the son of God. I had a wake up in 2010 and again in January. Found out about the third eye through a one time meditation in January. I don’t like people who tell me to ask my spirit guides for answers and yet they don’t say to ask Jesus. They do this because they don’t believe in him. I’m no Bible thumper either. It took 40 years to realize I’m Gods child. I’m a free being. I follow Jesus and always will.
THIS IS AMAZING. THANK YOU. I can only hope that all those still kept small and fearful under the invisible shackles of religion will come to know Jesus as he really was – an enlightened being who wished for us all to elevate to that level of unity consciousness. I can only hope that those who are still falsely claiming Jesus as “their own” in the exclusivity of the church – an egoic pill of comfort – will understand soon that ALL of us are sovereign beings and are already connected to oneness, as you said. I say it often to as many as I can: Jesus is not the problem at all, RELIGION is. Thank you for your absolutely excellent eloquence here, as this topic is extremely difficult to express accurately due to the thousands of years of loss of translation of the meaning of Jesus’s word.
John 17:21… beautiful scripture. I had the joy 🤢 of growing up in a fundamentalist christian cult and it took years for me to grow past it. I’m going to love this series…my absolute favourite website. Loved it. I loved moving backwards for the reason that you can see the devotion you have to the ‘real’ jesus… eventhough I do have a few more decisions yo make on that bit of history, as I’m being a wannabe scholar right now, but the mystical jesus (and john btw) lights me up!
As a young adult I was “saved” into christianity but there were so many things that didn’t feel right in my heart so I often kept my religious beliefs to myself. Over the past 12 years or so I’ve felt the presence of God in my life but only when I went within, not when I reached out. I’ve since learned my overwhelming at times emotions are a result of being empathic. Over the past few months over started to get these downloads that I AM is really about God energy being internal . This article confirms my understanding in a way that I can understand and explain.
This is one of the most brilliant and enlightened statements about Jesus that I have ever heard. It makes more sense than anything else. It explains perfectly much of the mystery in the New Testament that otherwise would be more difficult to understand. I am thankful that god led me here to hear this message.
I was raised in the Mormon church and could never fit in, I was stuck in this false ideology of being less than, comparing myself to a perfect Christ and felt this disconnection with what I thought was an external source. I searched and searched for decades for the answer. It was after almost 40years returning to the same church when I realised that the answer was steering at me every morning and every night when brushing my teeth. I am the answer, It is an INTERNAL source, we were made in our creators image, therefore we are one and the same, faith in YOURSELF is faith in the creator, I hold all the keys, all the answers, I CHOOSE to keep them from MYSELF. Acceptance, forgiveness, compassion, gratitude and unconditional love for the self. “One love ❤️ ” The only connection I lost was with MYSELF. I have never returned since to church to be with God, now only living each day as a new, in an eternal everlasting now. In Lak’ech Ala K’in ☝️
Aaron, I was raised by a Jewish mother and never felt much of anything spiritual being immersed in Judaism. My father’s family were evangelical Christians and believed Jews were going to hell. I had a lot of emotional baggage about Jesus because I associated him with judgmental Christians. Recently, I have been developing a relationship with him through the Holy Spirit due to my ACIM studies. Your description of him as a “Jewish mystic” is just beautiful. Becoming a little more like him every day in how I treat my fellow man is my goal.
Thank you for your explanation that is very easy to understand. I grew up catholic and now practicing Buddhism. But I would like to go back to my Christian roots and re-learn all of Jesus’ teachings because I think it has been misinterpreted over the centuries. I love how you explain it and please do more articles on Jesus! Thank you so much for all the work you do and the message you spread. Love and light!
Wonderful!! That was awesome. Thank you for doing this series. Can’t wait to see it unfold 😃 I am so happy that even though I also broke away from the religious dogma of Christianity, I get to keep on loving Jesus, because when I was a Christian, he was my true love and only motivation for being “a good Christian.” #jesusfreak
Ahhh! Thank you for sharing this. I never connected with my Christian upbringing because it was traumatic for a child to be conditioned to believe in fear and hell. I had cognitive dissonance up until I finally distanced myself from religion and had my own come to Jesus moment as an adult. Everything make sense now because I move past the literal interpretation of his teachings. I am more connected to Jesus beyond the Bible stories and teachings I was programmed to believe. Thank goodness for my spiritual awakening brought me back to the real Christ Consciousness. Thanks Aaron. 🙏🏼
I am impressed by your breakdown of the word. As a person who has gone through a death experience that was not like most you hear, but negative. I walked into darkness when I came back and was in more then one reality for many months, seeing the lower realm out my psychical eyes. Then literally waking up to the true teachings of Jesus Christ, I feel close to Jesus always. I personally know who we are as humans beings. We are capable of amazing things. We are one with everything ❤️
At last, a real interpretation of Jesus . I was always sceptical of the current pro-political religious ‘mis-interpretation’ of the real Jesus, to favour conversion and control of the masses . Jesus as a god-mystic absolutely resonates with me and my Sikh understanding of god-centered teachings and behaviour Thank you
Just wanna take this opportunity to thank you for the time and effort you put into these articles I tell you they have really changed my perspective on spirituality and life as a whole it hasn’t really been that long since i embarked on this journey but they have really impacted my life in such huge and positive way in short amount of time thank you dear soul your work is deeply appreciated by me
THANK YOU THANK YOU AND MORE THANK YOU, as an ex jehovah witness that learnt the truth after he left the BS, i have preached the same message to many and most have nooooooooooo clue and it is refreshing to see that someone else is actually putting out for others to see, most are blinded/veiled because of heart condition, mathew 13 as i see it we are in last days and once the sorting is finished this planet will get wiped and those that are awake and part of the whole will go home, the rest, back into 3d to learn what you have not
Like you I came up through the church and realized they told me lies. When I realized I couldn’t progress spiritually through christianity because it was about conformatity over spiritually I reached out. Jesus Christ said ye are God’s, the kingdom of God is in you. This realization changed my perception. God is in us not In the sky. Ministers never talk about that because they don’t want to answer challenging questions from the flock. You are young and get it. I got this truth later in life after much pain. Thank you for this article, fearful Christian’s need to hear the truth no religious dogma. Though all the painful drama I still consider my self a christian. Jesus Christ is still my Lord no matter what. 😇😇✝️✝️🌞👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️🤗💖💯
Thanks for sharing your understanding, that came to me by way of Peter Anastasia who is a North American teacher residing now in Belgium. I am surprised that there are contemporary Christians who have this understanding, though after listening to you it is no longer so surprising. I was a monk, actually a Trinitarian Friar studying in Baltimore, Maryland, and Salamanca, Spain for the Roman Catholic Priesthood, 1973-1977. Was very attracted to the personal narratives of Meister Eckhardt, Sister Teresa of Avila, Shunryu Suzuki, and many others who’s teachings parallel Advaita Vedanta. The turning point in my understanding came early in 1988 when a former co-worker introduced me to Nisargadatta Maharaj’s “I Am That.” My agenda when first reading “I Am That” was to disprove its teaching. Fortunately I realized, it disproved me. In 1992 I encountered Ramamurti S. Mishra MD aka Shri Brahmanananda Sarasvati, who took me on as a disciple. No Biggie, I was a light maintenenance sishya (disciple). Eventually I went on to complete my BA at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA in Dec 2010. I was 63 yrs old back then. Subsequently I went on to complete the MA in East-West Psychology with 3 years Sanskrit studies in May 2014, at 67 years. Now I am 73, it’s 2020, and the scene on the planet is very tenuous. My sadhana, spiritual discipline of performing the vedic fire ceremony at Sarasvati Mandiram at Brahmananda Ashram, the Yoga Society of San Francisco, for over 20 years gradually opened up this teaching you profess to me.
Jesus was manifest here to fulfill the old testment prophecies of proclaiming the grace of God told of his coming .He was the only guru, profit or mystic to raise from the dead! The question is who do you say I am? Christ consciousness and love, forgiveness is the grace the truth that Jesus showed us that saves us ! (Thus “our savoir came for man kind”!) How wonderful !It is great great news! Thank you for enlightment of the mystical Jesus !
About 50 years ago I was in my teens and thought about this. The most difficult part was trying to share and talk about this with others. I was already a baptized, so-called born again Christian and teaching and conducting the choir. Before I reach 19 I was kicked out of my position and judged as a ‘backslider’ for performing in a (what they used to call) “bear-garden”, (any place where any kind of liquor was sold and consumed). Something similar happened two more times in different areas of the country. I had already figured that far too many people were vastly misled concerning the teachings and life of Jesus. It is quite refreshing to see a article like this. I have perceived the “theory” of oneness for more than 45 years and chose to be super reluctant to talk about it.
Thank you for this. You put into word my thoughts could not express. I was wrapped up in the Evangelical movement for years, but I did come into my spirituality there and I am grateful. After being run over by the gospel train on more than one occasion and more than one Church I left. My Evangelical friends think I went rougue at this point because I left the mainstream westernized version of Christianity. But nothing could be further from the truth. I just have a different View of Jesus but have never lost the love for him.
Excellent Aaron! Thanks! My Journey began at age 23 in 1981 experiencing very strange things. A week after age 24 Unknown to me the lighting bolt Kundalini came. Fast fw: The bliss state was happy tears running down my face Yelling God you are Amazing! We are all of Which is One! Recent Kunda activities got me searching again and you have lifted me with knowledge to higher level. Hope we meet someday!
I can’t get over this series ! So needed in today’s world, as a man that grew up Christian with so many questions as to why religion teachings pushed me away for being gay – always felt his truth was being twisted, it created so much shadow energy for me as a young kid, that I’m still working through today but no matter all that was taught to me, I always felt his love, like he was always rooting for me, no matter how different I was. I understand now, that the pain was needed for me to heal and help others heal, this series is going to be life changing- and so glad that you are breaking this down for the world to see 🙏🏼✨ & to be a part of this journey w| someone that brings light to this, like you do, Thanks brother – ♾ soul fam ♾💚
My family was never a Christian perse, and I would go to church here and there, and whatever people preached about Christ never resonated with me… like how can someone who preached love for humanity could doom you because of who you love, or who you identified as, or why we had to give money to the church when Christ himself never begged for a dime. Aaron you have brought a new sense of love and love for Jesus, thank you so much!
Thank you so much for explaining this! I grew up in an extremely Christian fundamentalist church. I can relate so much to your story and am grateful that Im not alone. I have been searching for the reason why they teach Jesus had to come and die for our sins as well as accepting him as our savior. When Donald Trump was hailed by my parents as Gods anointed to save America from itself, it broke me and woke me up.
You are BLESSED Beyond Measure !! Being female, I’ve been afraid to say this. I Love His Love.. He wanted us to fallow NOT WORSHIP. I’ve been told to give my soul to him, worship him. Ect. Society is getting close to understanding his TRUE Message. You Really Have Clearly ( To me at least ) have the wisdom and connection. I could feel the Breath of life filling me again. As you spoke TRUTH. I have been dying inside thinking I may be wrong. Thank you for being you and being available . I look forward for more.
ahahahahahahahaaha your clarity and sharing of wisdom only opens up more questions. There are so many paths to walk and directions to take. Lucky I am in k_no_w hurry to find enlightenment. I reckon the journey is going to be more memorable than the destination. Cheers mate. Quality article from the editing, script, lighting and message
Absolutely beauiful. I think this is your best yet! This is the Jesus I have come to know since I walked in Isreal November 2019. I wanted to experience the man named Jesus and since then my life changed. I had an spiritual awakening since then and Jesus has become more real than ever. Since then I have left Christianity and thats when Christ consciousness opened up within me and not only do I know Jesus I get to truth understand in Christ. ♡ THANK YOU BEAUIFUL SOULF OR MAKING THESE SERIES. I just seen this one cant wait to view them all.
I just found your website. Wow. This is great. I was raised a Christian in an abusive home which included my brothers suicide. He wanted to escape and go to heaven. I prayed my eye’s out for Jesus or God to intervene but it only got worse. Spiritual fear was the mainstay. I had to come to conclusions about that praying for help process. I left behind what didn’t work. I became a runaway as a young teen and lived for a short time on the streets in Seattle. I ate from garbage cans, and panhandled. I was taken in by a helpful man who along with his buddies, promptly molested me. The course of life led me to many learning situations and today I am grateful for my life and my experiences. That was an incredibly difficult, but necessary road in order to gain life from my beginnings. I have learned how to and the importance of stripping naked and standing on my garments. (Gospel of Thomas, v37) After learning Eastern teachings, I eventually had another look at Jesus and yes, you have to read him in a vacuum, and understand his verses are inner, spiritual, teachings nested in his native, cultural hues. Nested. In the same manner as all the worlds spiritual teachings. Yes, you have to take his words out of the Roman Catholic/Christian bible. His lessons are still there, but nested in a shallow religious shell. A shell that looks pretty for the masses to carry, though they cannot see what is inside. Many are called, I think I just found where the few chosen come to share. Subscribed. You come across so clear and succinctly.
This is the only way Christianity ever made any sense to me. I thought I was alone in what I believed. So I stopped going to church. The whole “Jesus died for my sins” never made any sense to me. To me it’s a weird religion, very judgemental and kind of creepy. Never thought Jesus would be a christian if he was walking the Earth today. Then I felt bad for thinking this way. The guilt trip.
It seems many here have had OBE and NDE experiences. I’m also one of them, and around that time period the Book of John took on a lot more meaning, but I found that when I described my thoughts to others they couldn’t grasp what I was saying. To them I guess it was as if I had gotten drunk and hallucinated, but to me it was/is 1000 times more real or beautiful than anything in ordinary life. I have not had to doubt or fear death in the slightest since then. When my parents passed on I worried that it would be difficult but I found myself to have unlimited faith that our love for one another will reach a fruition.
I’ve never been religious but I know a bit about it. It never really seemed like it was for me. I thought it was stupid that there was an old man in the sky judging everything I did. I started plant medicine in my mid twenties and I was truly born again! I experienced ego death for the first time and I went from looking through a keyhole to having the door blown open. I’ve tried to talk about it with people but they look at me like I’m from outer space. “They know not what they do,” I guess eh? The people I’ve talked to are so lost in separation that they can’t even hold the concept of unity in their mind. I really want to help them wake up but as you know, only they can do the waking if they want it. Thank you Aaron for your knowledge and your work.
I want to preface this that I did not grow up Christian but I had an experience last week where I was shown an image of Jesus with his wounds from the cross and his crown of thorns. He showed me how my own interal wounding was likened to that and how his rising up is represented of what happens when I heal my own wounds.
Brilliant! I was not raised with any faith, but I grew up in a Christian community and I saw so much hypocrisy amongst them. I’ve always believed in Jesus ‘the man’ as an enlightened Being, but I never believed much of the Christian teachings. Eckhart Tolle often shares the true meaning of the teachings of Jesus. I am so thrilled to have Aaron do this series!!! I love it! Thank you Aaron <3
Thank you for this new series! I to had to walk away from the organized religion of Christianity but Christ is my guru. He what is the voice and the idea that laid the foundation for all the experiences and the education that I sought out in trying to understand my own connection to God and what spirituality resonated with me. Only To leave me right back to him. Thank you, thank you, thank you I cannot wait for the next one.
I tried tried expressing this message but people are not ready to give up their beliefs. I had a life changing event were my NDE did not lineup with the New Testament and went on a quest for inner peace. Along my journey I found the teachings of Bill Donahue and it really connected the dots in my so-called paradigm. Great stuff! Thank you for sharing your insight! Peace people!
I was raised a Catholic, and very religious, but I adore this article because it is so much more digestible and relatable than religious teachings. It is the way I understood god the entire time, I feel religion is wrong in seperating us from god, instead of focusing on oneness. Amazing article! Hugely inspirational as always!
THANK YOU, SO REFRESHING, to see someone who has moved through the Christian faith and sought out the very core of the teachings. This ultimately is Heaven on Earth when all beings recognize this ultimate reality, that the ego is that which separates us and when we can let go of ego attachments, projections and delusions we may truly embrace all others as brother and sisters, as our own selves or SELF. This is an important message for these times of discord, but ultimately out of darkness comes light and the light of self knowledge is the core of all the great belief systems and mystic traditions. You clearly a light worker for this age, please keep up your good work.
My father who art in heaven hallow be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I give you this day my daily bread and I ask for you to be one with me here in the house you built within me. I offer myself as a token of appreciation for who I Am and I ask for you to claim your place where you belong. I Am the house of God standing here today, and I ask for that which is me to reside in me for the kingdom of myself has risen and I Am here to be.
This soooo confirms my belief. I really don’t like the age-old mantra that I see repeated everywhere that he died for our sins and that all you have to do is believe that is true and then you are ‘saved’. I totally believe he was a mystic, studied at mystery schools and preached that God is within us, not separate and outside of us. In fact, I have come to believe that modern Christianity has become evil. I hope you will get into Gnosticism and Sophia. Thank you so much for spreading the truth.
I love that article so much. You don’t even know how much clarifications this brings to me. It made me understand so many things that I had such a hard time wrapping my head around (conflicting ideas in my head). All that was needed was the understanding who Jesus (and I believe the other disciples of God) was, his state of non-duality, his Oneness with God (free of ego). What a beautiful understanding really, thank you so much Aaron ❤
Ewwwww excited to find you!!! I too was a “preacher’s kid” and have had a VERY out of the box experience. I wrote a book because GOD INSISTED I do so. Periodically, I get harassed and fussed at and called “deceived” by those still in their limited understanding but they’re rantings cannot override the amazing journey I’ve had. I got very ill while sitting in the church scene so I did what most Christians do, I went forward for prayer and began seeing doctors. After 18 months and 11 doctors I was MUCH WORSE so I canceled all medical tests/appts and began chasing God for answers. He showed up 6 months later after I’d proven that HE was my only option. I admit that I’d wanted to know what GOD COULD DO if a human got out of His way and yielded their life for His scripting for a very long time and I was now given the chance. I wholly believed the verse where Jesus said “but because I go the Spirit of Truth will come and teach you all things”. AND THAT HAPPENED! I was led to health and awakening, rejected by the church folks who are STILL bringing in the Coke machines, junk food, and prayers limited to the Rx writing doctor while my journey led to a complete reversal of Hashimoto’s Autoimmune and I was even able to ditch the 90 mg’s of Rx thyroid meds I’d been on since 1990. I reversed Advanced Cervical Degenerative Disc Disease and 11 years of crippling sciatica after He choreographed a fall from a bridge and a broken spine, likely because I had not written one word of the book He asked for in 2 years. The first morning home from the rehab hospital I began writing. It took 21 years to finish it as I had to live through proving my ideas and allowing Him to lead me to my answers. I left organized religion over this and see them now as a very dangerous “hive” mindset that is completely closed to any applied wisdom. Anyway, I can’t wait to see what you present as my story took me into learning about frequency, energy, the subtle energy anatomy of the body, our energetic world, chakras, copper antennas in a dead garden, energetic healing…. A WHOLE NEW WORLD and I NEVER PUT JESUS IN ANY OTHER CONTEXT THAN WHAT I SHARED. “led by the Holy Spirit”. Thank you Jesus! Oh, and I’m likely going to start a podcast this fall so maybe we can do a show/s together and talk about our “preacher’s kid” foundation and what we learned. Blessings new friend, Kathy GettingWellGodsWay.com, NoMoreTowersInTheOzarks.org, and NoATT.blog are where the journey took me. <3
Thank you Aaron! You are a great teacher😀 your helping me build some bridges in my journey. With no formal training in religion and almost know exposure to spirituality as a you person, I am amazingly discovering so much at age 58 through Qi gong and all kinds of eastern guidance. I was give “A course in Miracles” in 1998 and kept trying but could not grasp due to “religious” language barriers😁I knew there was something there for me. I am really relating to and appreciating your efforts and teachings. THANK YOU 🙏🏼
Thank you, the first time I watched this article. I started crying 😢 😭 because I finally didn’t feel alone!!!! I’ve always felt in my soul(spirit) exactly what you explained….however I was sooooo confused and being misguided and told that I was wrong and that I was shitting on there God because of the questions that I would ask and things I would questin…I truly feel Oness NOW for that I am truly greatfull and Blessed! Thank you for being a vessel for God!🙏
Oh my goodness! I’m exceedingly grateful to have enjoyed this article! It’s been a long while since I turned my ear to your teachings, so I was newly blown away by your outstanding capacity as a teacher for sharing these monumentally important concepts in an easily digestible way!!! Wish I could hug you to pieces!!!!
That was amazing. Jesus has also been described as God’s word made flesh. So when he says I am the way, the truth and the light that means God’s word is the way or path for us toward oneness realization. The Holy Consciousness sent his word throughout time and different geographical areas around the world which created all of the various different religions. But the message is all the same. Study and understand God’s word and take time to meditate and reflect inwards. And you will realize three levels of oneness. Oneness within yourself/individual consciousness; oneness with group consciousness and oneness with eternal consciousness
Beautifully put! I have been feeling this about Jesus my whole life, and it really wasn’t until I left Christianity and searched for my own quest of knowledge, that I realized my view of the world is much more mystical if you will, or yogi-ish, much more Eastern (btw, Jesus hiself was not a Westerner, he was from the middle east). But when I started understanding Oneness, meditation etc. all of the sudden the way I looked at Jesus’s life started to be different. I started to really feel like Jesus was more of Guru/Yogi.. I mean Jesus’s whole vibe was cooler than a cucumber 🥒, he was the coolest, chillest and calm guy. Nothing, like a religious person is. Religious people are constantly condemning people, there always seem To be a certain character trait of condemning in religious people, and its my belief that, that character trait was exacerbated by the religious folk in Jesus‘s time, and Jesus was nothing like that. It really wasn’t until I left religion then I started to really understand the life of Jesus. This is truly a message to pierce the heart of man. Once you truly understand the example that Jesus was giving us was how he lived. So when he says “I am the way”, he is truly saying “I” (as in the physical manifestation of the universe) .. am the way let man go to father but through me (let my life be the example for one to be complete is his oneness with God) .. It saddens me to know that so many people who have grown in regular church, have and may never search beyond the church, therefore will never get the understanding of the One, to understand the true Mystic nature of Jesus.
Thank you Aaron. I’ve had a similar path into spiritual awareness. I just read that same gospel passage for the memorial of a dear friend who recently passed. I have resonated with this higher perspective of Jesus for some time. You shared it beautifully. The love that surpasses all understanding to you and all. We are that.
When the student is ready the teacher will appear. This is the best (informative, fun, straightforward) presentation on Jesus I’ve seen. Thank you. I followed the path of Christ Consciousness for several years but something in me (or something energetically attached to me) didn’t like it. I lost my way for a long time & felt too weak to try again. I imagined that what I experienced was just fantasy. I’m ready to begin once more.
Just wanted to thank you. While my Guru is Adonai And padmasambhava, I grew up in a Christian household. Have been looking to share higher consciousness vids with family that understand more of the Christian faith to build the bridge with others whom have Christian beliefs. Being that religions have been used in various negative ways over whom is right. Thank you very much. 🙏
A true Christian goes above and beyond traditions and religious dogma. There cannot be a broad stroke for any religion because even in mystical environments, there are people who don’t really “get” to the spiritual plane. Everything is a religion until the person becomes one with their creator, and becoming one with our creator does not come from one specific religion. But there IS only one way out of the timeline loop, which is through the cross of Jesus Christ. God Bless you.
Love it! Your message makes it so much easier to reconcile my Christian past with my current Spirituality “presence”. Thank you! I now have a place to direct others who struggle understanding these concepts and believe they must choose between the two which I’ve never felt compelled to do. My feeling that one SUPPORTS the other has been in sharp contrast to others’ beliefs that choosing one NEGATES the other. You’ve done a beautiful job of explaining how it’s possible to “convert” to Spirituality while still embracing and loving Jesus… at least to those who seek Truth with an open heart and an open mind! 💜
I love your heart for others and I know you have a desire to see others walk in freedom. God does have great plans for your life. You mentioned that Jesus never said anything about coming to die for mankind. These scriptures from Jesus show that He truly knew His purpose was to save mankind and bring them into a right relationship with the Father. Many Blessings on you 🙏❤️ “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28 ” For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11 “Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!” John 12:27-28 “Jesus answered, “You have said so.” While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the(b) covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:25-29 Luke 24:44-49 “He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.
You got it Aaron. He is my guru also. But like you, I only got religious Jesus from churches. Believe and you’ll go to heaven. Else hell. I cannot believe after 2000 years of Jesus they havent got beyond say 2nd or 3rd graders in the Spiritual school, whereas they should be doing PhD by now. Hopefully this will get corrected soon. Like you I learned MOST what Christ taught when I STOPPED attending Churches! It’s an irony like the entire story of bible is fraught with ironies and paradoxes . Anyways I’m more at peace now. Jesus talks to me everyday ( if I’m sin- fasting… His pure n holy Spirit cannot bear sin). He explained to me ” son conversion was always converting hearts to turn AWAY from sin and turn TO …LOVE” But we converted people from one religion to the other ( Christianity ). But thank you for uploading this GEM and explaining TRUE spiritual nature of Christ . God bless 🙏👍
I agree with what you are saying Aaron. I think all dogma in the future will dissapear, when the higher consiousness her on Earth will rise. When i experienced oneness with God in 2010 through meditation, it was so soooooo beautiful. Like an endless ocean of bright light, like millions of suns shining and the moste profound feeling of love that the mind will never understand.
Iam so thankful to you. My mind was going crazy! I love Jesus so much but i cannot believe in salvation or that God chose some people and harden the heart of others. I don’t believe God is cruel or unjust or accept a himan sacrifice.. I believe God is pure love i belive in non duality and because of your article i found peace.thank you .❤
Aaron I want to thank you for making this article. I know I’m going to love this new series and get a lot out of it. I’ve already watched this article twice, I find I understand more on each watch. I was raised Christian but over the last few years have turned more towards spirituality as I struggled to understand everything the church taught and just accept it. John 14:6 and also John 3:16 were two of the verses I have been really stuck on, as Christians use it to justify that Jesus is the only way to heaven and he died specifically for our sins. I just found that hard because although I live in a western country, millions of people around the world do not, and they grew up in other cultures where Christianity is not the main belief. They can’t all be “wrong” and need to repent simply because they were born in a place where for example the main religion was Hinduism/Buddism/Islam/anything other than Christian. I believe God is bigger than just one religion (and a specific denomination of it). The way you explain that Jesus’ ego was completely out of the way, and he was effectively a website for God/unity conciousness, wow I have never heard it explained like that before! Now those verses start to make more sense. I know it will sink in more over time for me (though my mind wants to figure it all out now!). I wonder how different church teachings would be if the preachers moved beyond seeing thing through duality (another topic I still have a lot to understand – all in time). The bible would be discussed in a completely different way!
Oh you are so correct! He was a prophet and came here to teach us how to heal and we too are children of God. He is the son of God and we are the daughters of God. He wasnt quiet ir passive. I saw a websiteer who brought him through and he also said.. My Father did not kill me.. the romans did .. What kind of God would kill his own son? We were brainwashed with lotsof dogma!! They did this to control the masses!
At any moment everyone is speaking both from the ego and from what you call oneness. Just because one is concealed doesn’t mean it’s not constantly there and constantly teaching you, in you, and in everything around you. That being said there’s immense responsibility knowing that you yourself speak for so many different layers of reality. So don’t say the wrong words, because people may misunderstand you. Even moreso, don’t put your words in other’s mouths.
Love the term transmitting conduit, recently hosted a workshop at a gathering called Sacred Organized Union for the Realization of Collective Evolution or S.O.U.R.C.E. and i called the workshop Conduits of Source because thats what we all are transmitting stations of God and conductors of source energy and the etymology of conduit comes from the latin conducere which means to bring together and as we come together as conduits the Source energy begins to flow exponentially. SO grateful for teachers of Source like you and Jesus and all
