So, extremely overanalyzed theory time: According to the production bible/”stuff we wanted to show but ran out of time to actually put in” (S2 pls Trigger) Sucy was an orphan, abandoned by her parents and raised by a kind stranger (shown in one of the manga). In this episode, we see that for all her teasing, Sucy cares about Akko more than just about anything else; meeting her was her most treasured memory. This is also shown when the cute little mini-Sucy is offering her flowers (lilies at that, possibly showing her attachment may be romantic, but anyway). Every Sucy represents a part of her psyche; they’re wanton desires and thoughts that she “kills” to push out of her mind (and, being metaphors for wants and needs, presumably come back when she re-acquires the interest). We never actually learn exactly what mini-Sucy represents, but we can give it a good guess. Unlike every other Sucy, she has her left eye shown, and is a mere child compared to the other 16-year-old Sucy fragments. The real Sucy always keeps her left eye hidden- whatever mini-Sucy is representative of, Sucy is ashamed of or terrified of. Every other Sucy is the same age and stage as the real Sucy (excluding talkative Sucy, who is clearly aged up for comedic effect), and the Judge Sucy immediately recognizes her, implying it’s not her first time being culled. This Sucy has existed inside of her for a long, long time. So we have an old, lingering desire that Sucy is deeply frightened of from her youth. I would like to suggest that mini-Sucy is actually Sucy’s childhood innocence, and desire to be a normal girl with friends.
