Does Speaking Latin During Rites Have To Be Done?

The short answer is no, as Latin is not the only language used in the Roman Rite for exorcisms. Other vernacular languages, such as Greek, can also be used for rituals and spells. Google’s service offers free translations between English and over 100 other languages. Las Posadas, a religious festival in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking nations, honors Mary and is celebrated before Christmas. Idioms, figures of speech, and quotes are found in the Latin Dictionary under various forms.

Linguistic language is closely related to modern liturgical Greek and Slavonic liturgies, which cannot be said for Latin. While there are now more regulations and requirements for priests to celebrate the Latin Mass, they can still do so. However, after the motu proprio, it is important to speak in Latin for part of the ceremony.

People who perform modern rituals and spells tend to use whatever language they actually speak, leading to atrocious poetry and atrocious poetry. It is essential to have a universal language for magic, whether it’s a foreign language, a made-up language, or a native language. An exorcist answers the controversial question of whether Latin is more effective than vernacular languages in driving out demons.

In conclusion, while Latin may not be the most effective language for exorcisms, it is still a valuable tool for understanding and practicing rituals.

  • The things I’ve seen and heard and now know make it impossible to doubt the reality of possession or the existence of a spirit world that’s probably more real than the one we now live in. As a young Christian convert, I had just stepped out of a church program and had strolled to a busy busstop intersection with lots of others milling around, when from the corner of my eyes I saw a man that was clearly mentally challenged and looking very derelict walking through the crowd and heading straight at me. He did not look aggressive or threatening but his eyes were affixed on me all the way until he came to where I was and then without warning sank on his knees in a worshipful manner. Others standing by simply stared, same as did myself because I didnt exactly know what I was to do or how. To spare myself from the discomfort of being the centre of the unsolicited attention, I walked away. Dont get me wrong, the whole thing could have been happenstance, but i have long reflected on why the man did not go to anyone else but to me and this was right after I came out of a Christian spiritual gathering. I can only speculate that he saw in me what most of the rest (including myself) couldn’t see. I also felt some remorse that I could’ve done something but didnt because of my immaturity. Perhaps I could’ve commanded the man’s freedom from whatever spirit(s) was(were) controlling him.

  • The priest stood his ground and honored his work by replying eloquently with integrity to Adam’s sarcastic comment! It shows he deals with people like this all the time and he’s comfortable! I like that Adam said he’s a skeptical but you have to also respect the person whom you’re interviewing, by saying “but I’d like to hear your experiences as an exorcist bc (fill in the blank)”

  • Father lampert his story is on paranormal witness him before he was an exorcist and he didnt want ths job its exactly why he got it they show father carmichael they show him learning in rome then when he gets back his first solo mission is legion and leviathian its amazing show n hes an amazing priest ❤

  • People so often equate skepticism with intelligence and yet the most intelligent people, the ones who have contributed most to this planet were not so. They were able to think and see differently than most and when all said something wasn’t possible, they proved them wrong time and time again. This will continue to happen and it wont be the skeptics who make the biggest changes. It will be the visionaries and believers. The ones who can see beyond what is presented to the mere 5 senses. The ones who know there is far more to this place than what we’ve been taught and conditioned to believe. The ones who choose to listen to their intuition rather than the crowd.

  • I didn’t think Adam was rude, I’m interested in the supernatural and paranormal sphere and its perfectly reasonable to be skeptical of this stuff. Exorcism and demonic possession is naturally hard to believe because of: 1. how secretive it is (you have to trust complete strangers who say its real) 2. it goes against natural law and order (I mean just look at the levitation aspect, it defies science as we know it) 3. even if you believe a possession is happening, it could be all sorts of mental and physical stuff going on The only way to know if possessions are real is to witness one firsthand, but so few have even claimed to see one. And where are the victims?

  • It should be articletaped for their personal records. Data points with these things are invaluable and hard to come by in the public scene. I was looking for a particular case where the exorcist describes the moment the entity is leaving, an electric POP occurs while simultaneously the lights flicker and blow out and static electricity was tangible in the air. He described them as electric beings which is in alignment with some alternative theories about what these entities are vs what we’ve been told they are. Electromagnetism can levitate items within the center a toroidal field so that would explain the levitation. There is just so little data to cross reference in this area. There are magnitudes of people talkng about ndes, obes, astral travel, ghosts, et abductions, shadow people, men in black, etc etc. but the stuff on actual entity removal is suspiciously lacking. One would think that if these things were really happening and one knew how to get rid of them, then i just cant imagine not wanting to spread that training as far and wide as possible. When analyzed thoroughly on multiple levels, not much of anything in this world is consistent with logical reasoning. Therefore it is logical to concur that illogical happenings are statistically more likely than not, to actually occur.
