Does The Bible Address Funeral Customs Anywhere?

Christian burial is a traditional religious practice that has been performed for thousands of years, acknowledging the sanctity of life and the holiness of the human body. The Bible states that only God is immortal and has the power to save or destroy persons, their bodies, and their souls. Burial chambers, also known as chamber tombs, were natural caves or underground chambers dug out in hillside areas.

The Bible does not define cremation as a preferred means to inter a body, but there is no prohibition of the process in the New Testament. The Old Testament addresses touching a dead body primarily, with contact resulting in ritual impurity for seven days. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, I am the resurrection and the life”.

The Bible holds several customs for burial, including the first reference to cremation in 1 Samuel 31: 11-13 where the dead bodies of Saul and his sons are burned and then their bones are buried after. In the cultures of Bible times, burial in a tomb, cave, or in the ground was the common way to dispose of a human body. A burial may symbolically show that a person, body, and soul created by God, is given back to Him (Genesis 3:19).

In conclusion, Christian burial is a traditional religious practice that acknowledges the sanctity of life and the holiness of the human body. The Bible does not prescribe any specific burial rituals, but they are carried out according to the customs of a place and do not prescribe a specific method for burial.

📹 Will Jesus RAISE The CREMATED?! (Here’s what the BIBLE SAYS)

In this video I’m answering the question; Will Jesus raise the cremated? Or another way of wording this is, what happens to those …

Where in the Bible does it say you should be buried and not cremated?

The Bible does not explicitly state a command for or against cremation, and most scholars do not forbid it. However, some passages do describe standard death practices during certain times. The first mention of cremation is in 1 Samuel 31 where the dead bodies of Saul and his sons are burned and their bones are buried. The inhabitants of Jabesh-Gilead, after hearing about the Philistines’ actions, took the bodies of Saul and his sons from the wall of Beth-shan, burned them, and buried their bones under a tamarisk tree in Jabesh, fasting seven days.

Does God consider cremation a sin?

The Bible does not label cremation a sinful practice, as it is not mentioned in the detailed instructions for living and dying set forth by God in the Old and New Testaments. Instead, God’s people were laid to rest in tombs, usually a hewn rock with a stone seal. The bodies of loved ones were wrapped or covered in cloth, scented with herbs, and left undisturbed in their caves to return to dust in a natural state.

Cremation, the burning of the corpse, was a custom only practiced by numerous pagan (demonic) religions in ancient times. Some biblical references suggest that the enemies of God and God’s laws were promptly cremated as a form of capital punishment. The short answer is that cremation is not a sin.

What are the burial rituals in Christianity?

Some parishes still offer burial spaces, followed by a church service and a Committal for the deceased’s family and friends. The minister may say a prayer. If cremated, the body is taken to a crematorium, burned, and the ashes are given to the family. Catholic funerals believe in Heaven and Hell, but also in Purgatory for those who died in a “state of grace” (venial sins) and may not go directly to Heaven. Catholic funerals can be with or without Mass. The ashes are then given to the family.

What did Jesus say about the funeral?

Matthew 5:4 (NLT) emphasizes that grief is more than death, as it allows us to let go of our hurts and wounds. Grief involves a cycle of shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. However, it is not exhaustive or linear. Grief is the delicate art of letting go, as Henry Cloud calls it the “pain that heals”. It is a life experience that we choose to enter into, rather than something that happened to us.

God teaches us that we must enter it willingly, as it is the healing force that heals the thing that happened. By learning to grieve and reaching out to Jesus, we can navigate this difficult time and find comfort in the knowledge that God blesses those who mourn.

What is the Biblical way to be buried?

The practice of burying the dead facing east is a tenet of Christianity, based on scriptural evidence suggesting that Jesus will approach from the east when he returns. This practice allows Christians to prepare for their Savior’s face-to-face encounter at the rapture.

Does Jesus want us to be buried or cremated?

The Bible does not explicitly prohibit or endorse cremation or the keeping, spreading, or burying of ashes. The decision to honor the dead and recognize the spiritual nature of our existence is a personal one, and it is crucial to honor their memory and respect their wishes. While there is no explicit scriptural prohibition against cremation, some believers oppose it because they believe it doesn’t honor the doctrine that God will one day resurrect their bodies and reunite them with their soul/spirit.

However, it is important to note that cremation speeds up the natural process of a body turning to dust, and God can resurrect the remains of a cremated individual just as effortlessly as those of someone who was buried.

Does the Bible say not to go to funerals?

In accordance with divine decree, those who are in a state of mourning or expressing sympathy are prohibited from entering funeral homes. This is because the LORD has withdrawn His blessings, love, and pity from those who are in a state of mourning or expressing sympathy.

Is burial or cremation according to the Bible?

Burial was the standard practice for the Israelites and early Christians in both the Old and New Testaments. However, cremation was often seen as a form of punishment. The Old Testament passage “ashes to ashes, dust to dust” suggests that our bodies will eventually become dust after death, regardless of the burial method. The first mention of cremation in the Bible is 1 Samuel 31: 11-13, where Saul and his sons are burned and their bones buried after severe ravages, likely for sanitary reasons rather than religious reasons.

What Bible passage is burial ceremony?

Religious funeral services often use specific Bible verses, such as Matthew 11:28-30, John 10:27-29, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, Romans 8:38-39, Corinthians 15:54-55, Philippians 1:21-23, Job 19:25-27, Psalm 34:18, John 14:27, and Revelation 21:4, to provide comfort and hope during times of loss and mourning. These sacred texts offer solace and wisdom, offering a light in moments of darkness and reminding of the steadfast presence of faith. Selecting a funeral Bible verse is a deeply personal choice that reflects the beliefs and consolations of the bereaved and the departed.

The verses that resonate most often speak of peace, eternal rest, and the loving assurances of God’s promises. Funeral Bible verses can be included in a slideshow, readings, prayer cards, memoriam bookmarks, or simply in the funeral program.

What does the Bible say about funeral rituals?

The practices of burial in Christianity are based on superstition and faulty theology, not on the Bible. The Bible teaches that believers will be resurrected at the Coming of the Lord for the Church, known as the Rapture, not at Christ’s Second Coming to Earth. At death, our spirit goes to be with Christ, and our conscious self is not “in the grave” awaiting Christ’s return. Instead, we live with Him in the Heavenly realm while waiting for the resurrection.

Paul contrasts being “at home in the body” with being “at home with the Lord”, stating that being at home in the body means being alive on the earth, while being at home with Christ means our body has died and our spirit has gone to be at Christ’s side in Heaven. According to Paul, when a believer dies, their spirit goes into the presence of the Lord, while their earthly body remains buried.

  • I grew up in a Christian family that believed cremation was a no-no. It wasn’t until I lost someone close to me, whose family decided on cremation, that I changed my mind. During the most intense grief I ever felt, I heard God tell that my loved one is with Him and to not worry. It got me thinking about how some people die in house fires, and that God wouldn’t forsake them simply for dying in a fire, so why would he if they are cremated. My loved one was still buried, just as ash instead of an earthly body. Nothing will convince me my loved one isn’t with the Lord. 💜💜

  • I get so lost, sometimes Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart When I want to run away I drive off in my car But whichever way I go I come back to the place you are All my instincts, they return And the grand facade, so soon will burn Without a noise, without my pride I reach out from the inside In your eyes The light, the heat (Your eyes) I am complete (Your eyes) I see the doorway to a thousand churches (Your eyes) The resolution of all the fruitless searches (Your eyes) I see the light and the heat (Your eyes) I want to be that complete I want to touch the light The heat I see in your eyes In your eyes In your eyes In your eyes Love, I don’t like to see so much pain So much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away I get so tired of working so hard for our survival I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive And all my instincts, they return And the grand facade, so soon will burn Without a noise, without my pride I reach out from the inside In your eyes The light, the heat (Your eyes) I am complete (Your eyes) I see the doorway to a thousand churches (Your eyes) The resolution of all the fruitless searches (Your eyes) I see the light and the heat (Your eyes) I want to be that complete I want to touch the light The heat I see in your eyes In your eyes In your eyes In your eyes Accepting all I’ve done and said I want to stand and stare again ‘Til there’s nothing left, woah It remains there in your eyes Whatever comes and goes Oh, it’s in your eyes

  • Thank you I needed to hear this I lost my husband in 2020 and my 16 year old grandson on 2-4-24 they didn’t have insurance I had to pay for both of them to be cremated because I still had to make the house payment and care for my other grandchildren and couldn’t afford to bury them as it was 10,000 a piece God bless you

  • I agree with your assessment. To add another layer to your deduction, not only will God be able to reconstruct those who are “dust” from decomp or from the fires of cremation, Revelation 20 tells us that those who die (or drown) in the seas, whatever happens to their remains, they will also be reconstructed whether they were broken down due to decomposition or consumption from sea creatures. None of that will keep them from standing before God being made whole again. “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them” (Revelation 20:12-3, KJV). Just a thought.

  • I’m planning on being cremated because I believe it will help to purify my body for when Jesus Christ comes back. I believe that it’s not ONLY sins I as a human have committed in my life(nothing major) that I will be judged on BY JESUS CHRIST but because of the neurological disease (MS) that I’ve been fighting against for the past 24 years so far since I don’t know how old I’ll live to be when I die. I think it will be helpful when Jesus Christ comes back & raises my body to be judged. I think in a way it burns away the disease. I could be totally wrong but I hope 🤞& pray🙏 I’m not but that’s the way I choose to look at it.

  • The fact that it’s only the body that gets Buried or Cremated you are just Energy a Spirit the Light so when you die it’s your soul that goes to God the body has nothing to do with it Only when you are alive is body and soul together So God and Jesus can bring any soul back to life if they want Everything is Energy there is nothing else 🥰🥰🥰

  • I prefer cremation, first..if all the people in the world were buried we would have caskets uprooting the self and such with nature after time. It is already happening. Also, ash to ash..dust to dust. I take that very literal. Think elements, burn me like Incense and let my ashes fall to the earth and merge. I don’t want my family to remember me dead in a casket but rather wave in the wind ❤

  • Unfortunately, even for those who do believe in burial, wont have that option, due to the exorbitant expense of burials these days. I cant leave my family, who are already poor, to carry that burden of cost for years, to pay off my burial. Worse yet, my biggest fear is burning to death. Yes, i know i’ll already be dead, but that horrid fear still remains for me. And i dont know how to reconcile my mind to that one.

  • The blueprint of all physical bodies is in the Spirit. From the Spirit, all alive things get down, materializing first in the mental dimension, then the emotional (astral dimension), and then the physical. Plus, the Soul survives. Always. This is why I doubt if the old body needs resurrection or just the Soul. This doubt explored in this article shows how materialistic our society has become. But for the living people with their physical bodies, it makes all sense if Jesus comes to collect the Souls of those who already live in a body beyond the 3rd dimension (material dimension). People mostly believe that Christ will come to resuscitate the ones living already internally in the 4-5th dimensions and above – and remove them from the collective with their bodies.

  • For those who believe in God… Our bodies (dead or alive) are not OUR OWN property, they are just borrowed… we can not do whatever pleases us or favors us (skin tattoos, dead body cremation, self inflictions or suicide, abortion, sexual pervasion (porno), etc.)… We never PAY any sum of money to God when we were born, nor choose the body we need or the parents that we want… it is all FREELY given to us by God… Let us all give it back FREELY to God on His own Term and Conditions… if we want God to be pleased with us and be saved from the fire of condemnation… Amen.

  • That’s in the Old testament Jesus died on the cross for everybody even for that situation to happen no doubt in my mind I did bother me about my mom being cremated but I had a fight six seven other brothers and sisters she’s my dad all it does is make you worry which God doesn’t want you guys got to remember that’s a touchy subject for Christians

  • This is something I am in search for. I’m still not sure 🤔 In Genesis 50:25- Joseph wanted his bones to be taken by the sons of Israel – 🤔why is that? Exodus 12:46 Moses did carry his bones out. Joshua 24:32 when Joseph’s bones were reburied. Even the passover lambs bones was ordered not to be broken in exodus 12:46/ Numbers 9:12 But In numbers 24:8 God devours those who oppose him breaking their bones 2 Samuel 21:12 Saul and his son Jonathan’s bones were retrieved then there is 2 chronicles 35:5 where is talked about The pagan priest whose bones was burned psalms 141:7 where it says the bones of the wicked will be scattered without a burial. There’s much more passages where it talked about bones being saved because they belonged to the righteous and then bones of the wicked being crushed, burned and scattered. 🥴 So my family is considering cremation for a loved one but I oppose that option. I’m in search for a convincing answer maybe backed up by Biblical passages from the people who are living in Christ. I haven’t finished the Bible but if anyone could point me to the comforting passage in the Bible confirming that this is OK to calm my agitated spirit hearing about cremation. With respect.

  • I watched this article again and it occurred to me that I would count it almost cultic the way funerals are done today, that is using expensive caskets with fancy padding to make a dead person comfortable as though they are still in that box. It almost smacks of what the Egyptians did when they preserved the body for the afterlife, even burying their things with them. I am not saying it is sin, it just leaves a big question in my mind when I see people even at Christian funerals speaking to the dead person as though they can hear, more cultic practice. And, no matter whether or not the person has been born again they always say, “he/she is in a better place now”, even when they didn’t know their life, it is assumed that everyone who dies goes to a better place. I really hate perusal people praise a wicked person because they are dead.

  • for me i choose burial even is expensive, why because my family member who still in this world can visit the grave even sometimes, and also in my family culture as a christian every my family member must buried, there is no my family being cremated either my dad and my mom, why i’m anti-cremated because i don’t like to see burned corpse in my vision because it’s it’s kind of a nightmare for me.

  • Where did Adam and Eve get the IDEAS of Proper BURIAL?… When Adam saw his second son Abel’s dead body killed by Cain, did Adam burnt (cremate) or buried the body?… When Abraham and Moses died, were they cremated?…. God must have taught Adam and Eve how to respect, honor, and the proper way to dispose of the dead bodies that are pleasing to God’s sight… then the practice was carried-on thru generation after generation…

  • During the resurrection of the dead body’s will be reanimated. Imagine how advanced to be able to reconstruct a body from just atoms. Technology way beyond our comprehension. Book of revelation talks about how a giant cube,1500 Miles long, 1500 Miles wide and 1500 miles deep will set down on earth.. the new heaven

  • God instructed the nation of Israel that when they killed an animal for food or for sacrifice, the BLOOD must be “poured on the ground (earth/soil)”… and not to be burnt/cremated nor collected in a container/s. Does Christ Jesus had changed this instruction when God cleaned all the animals for human consumption?… Not at all.. still, the BLOOD is prohibited to be eaten/drunk/cremated…

  • Christ Jesus said, “SPREAD” the Gospel in the entire world and not “CONVERT” in the name of the Gospel… True Christian “DUTY” is to “SPREAD” the Gospel without “COMPROMISING” the “Spiritual TRUTH” to favor, convert, or win people’s (pagan/atheist/gentle/etc.) approval for the Sake of the Gospel… Just like what the Apostles and Martyrs have done approx. 2000 years ago, because that is the True kind of “Love” for our neighbor (both friends and enemies)… God’s duty is to “CONVERT” the heart of the people who “HEARD” the “UNCOMPROMISED GOSPEL TRUTH,” from the Christians even if causes their lives in the process… Amen.

  • In the case of King Saul we see a clear Biblical example of someone who commited suicide, was cremated and the Bible tells us Saul and his sons went to Heaven. 1 Samuel 28:19 KJV Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines. 1 Samuel 31:4 KJV Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. 1 Samuel 31:12-13 KJV All the valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth–shan, and came to Jabesh, and burnt them there. And they took their bones, and buried them under a tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days.

  • This is the LORD; God. Speaking to Abraham in Genesis 22:1&2. “After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 2 He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you. 4 On the 3rd day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar. 5 Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy will go over there and worship and come again to you.” 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together. 9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built the altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then Abraham took out the knife to slaughter his son. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” Cremation was instituted by the Lord when he directed Abraham to sacrificed his only son Isaac. (but at the time he the word cremation was not use but during the time the expression used for the act of cremation was called burnt offering.)

  • When we take our last breath on this earth we are finished with this body which goes back to the dust from which it came. The spirit returns to God who gave it. (ECCL chapter 12) We will be given a new body (Celestial Body) that Paul reminds us in 1 COR 15. When Moses and Elijah appeared as Men with Jesus on the mount of transfiguration (LUKE Chapter 9) they were NOT in the bodies that they walked this earth in. They were already in their Eternal Bodies when talking with Jesus. Flesh and Blood CANNOT Inherit the Kingdom of God. Cremation just speeds up the process of turning back to the Dust. BTW- Saul and his sons which included Jonathan were cremated after they died in battle.( 1 Samuel 31:11-13)

  • If PAID Soldiers/Law Enforcers/Firefighter, etc., were considered HEROES for doing their PAID duties/responsibilities that deserved the 21 Gun Salute and Proper Burial Ceremonies/Rites… how much more PARENTHOOD, who are NOT PAID to do their duties/responsibilities but out of their total LOVE, who had sacrificed their precious TIME, FREEDOM, their LIFE taking care of their families to safety so that their children won’t be liabilities but an ASSETS to the Society/Nation, be more than just a HERO Soldiers that deserve Proper Burial than CREMATION?…

  • I will be cremated. The thought of my body laying in the ground decaying. Just sickens me. I say get the praises over with. I also don’t want a long drawn out memorial funeral. I reather be cremated and have a dinner in my living family home. I’m planning on paying for my service upfront. So my family will not have to pay for nothing.

  • A person can be creamated it’s what you do with Jesus Christ putting your trust in him to save you Romans 10:-13 v. 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved so when people die who are in Christ in 2 Corinthians 5-7 tells us 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 9 Therefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted by Him. So people who are saved there soul goes to be with the Lord. the body is in the grave but when Jesus comes back 1 Thessalonians 4 13-18 v 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

  • Luke 9:60 (paraphrased) Christ Jesus had instructed and said, “Let the dead (spiritually dead but physically alive) BURY their own dead (physically dead).”… it is clearly stated not to CREMATE but to bury the dead body unless there was a contagious disease that will cause the epidemic/pandemic to the nation and also unless the person has no financial capabilities to apply proper burial lots and services to their dead love ones… then, with God’s kind understanding of “reason” which is unlimited, God allowed cremation. God does not like the smell of burnt dead bodies (flesh and blood corpses), that is why God stopped Abraham upon knowing his true faith from killing his only son Isaac to be burnt for God… In the Book of Ezekiel, God allowed to “BURN” the dry bones,… why?…specifically “DRY” Bones because it has no more Flesh and Blood attached to them…

  • For those who believe in God… Our bodies (dead or alive) are not OUR OWN property, they are just borrowed… we can not do whatever pleases us or favors us (skin tattoos, dead body cremation, self inflictions or suicide, abortion, sexual pervasion (porno), etc.)… We never PAY any sum of money to God when we were born, nor choose the Body/Soul we need or the parents that we want… it is all FREELY given to us by God… Let us all give it back FREELY to God on His own Term and Conditions… if we want God to be pleased with us and be saved from the fire of condemnation… Amen.

  • Give me or show me one verse in the Bible that CLEARLY show that God the Father and Christ Jesus TAUGHT His People or His Apostles/Disciples that CREMATION is a PROPER WAY of Honoring and Respecting Dead Bodies’ DISPOSAL… And I will give you many verses in the Bible, that BURIAL either by Tomb or below ground is the Proper Way of Honoring and Respecting the Dead Bodies’ Disposal… starting from Christ Jesus’ dead body even His Spirit is already gone, Joseph of Arimathea donated his own tomb and not to be cremated… They (Jews/Believers) never RATIONALIZED that even though they KNEW that the Spirit/Soul was already gone, they can now cremate or do whatever they want to the dead bodies as “NO IMPORTANCE” to the Salvation… only the people of today think that way including the Pastors/Preachers who compromised the Biblical Truth, to satisfy their members/followers… because they do not want to share the financial responsibilities/obligation to properly buried their poor members/followers… so they twist the Truth to allow Cremation because it is much cheaper, hassle-free, and not time-consuming than Proper Burial… On Judgement day, we will be accountable for this kind of teachings/Doctrines… The Easiest way is often the wrong way to salvation. Jews/Israel, Islam/Muslims, Catholic Christians both Roman and Greek never taught CREMATION… These Churches have both pieces of land as Cemetary to bury their members/followers… while most Protestant Churches taught CREMATION as the Proper Way of Honoring/Respecting the Disposal of their Dead loved ones.

  • It is the Bible that said that we (Christians) need to follow and obey Christ Jesus’ teaching and commandments if we love him… Christ said, “FOLLOW ME”… what to follow?… Christ SETS of examples… Again, I said if you read carefully my comments, there are exemptions but if you do not meet the criteria of those exemptions, God will judge and condemn you for that… If the bodies were cremated or exploded by fire, it is not the dead bodies’ fault but the one who burnt/cremated or exploded the dead bodies… If you cremated your loved ones, your dead loved ones will not be judged by God, but the one who is still alive that cremated the dead bodies… based on their MOTIVES why they cremated the dead bodies… If the person before he/she dies requests/wishes to be CREMATED, the one who cremated the person when he/she died is not responsible to God, but the one who requested/wished to be Cremated will be judged and condemned by God based on his/her motives… God teaches His followers and believers the proper method of Honorable disposing of the Dead Bodies which is BURYING… All Servants of God like Moses, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, etc… and all Prophets and Apostles of God such as Isaiah, John the Baptist, Jeremiah, Peter, James, etc… were given a proper burial and not CREMATED… If you can give me just ONE, Biblical Servant of God in the Bible who died that God himself allowed being CREMATED flesh and blood… (and not the DRY BONES for it has no flesh and blood)… then I WILL retract all my comments regarding CREMATIONS.

  • As Christians, who belong to God. cremation is destroying God’s property. Further in the books of Lev. 20:3, 18:21, 19:5, the children of Israel, God’s children, were told not to burn the bodies of their loved ones because it was a practice of pagans and their devotion to idols. God’s children had taken on this practice so they could be like other nations. God forbid it and called it an abomination! God said “I never told you to do that and it never entered my mind to tell you to burn the bodies of my people!” Why would a Christian practice the mores of a pagan society? Today, Christians are the children of God and Jesus is our example of what we should do with our bodies, that shall be raised at the General resurrection – first, changed and gloried as we are called from the grave. In I John 3:2 says that when we rise we shall be like Jesus. Further, Romans 8:11 tells us that “If the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised Christ from the dead shall also give life to your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you.” That is now and in the future. From where will the cremated rise? Today’s culture that does not believe in God are the ones pushing cremation because of unbelief in God, his son Jesus, and the afterlife. Cremation is not for the ones who believe in the resurrection, Jesus’ and the Christians. Those who have been burned or lost at sea by no fault of their own, God will deal with. It is the DELIBERATE decision to go against God’s will of cremation that shall receive due process.

  • Cremation is not for Christian, Jews, and Muslim practices, it is from Pagan, or Gentile practices… The Highest Honor that a person can give to their departed (dead) loved ones is proper BURIAL, either buried 6 ft. under the ground or buried in the tomb… because the body was once the Temple of the Holy Spirit… just like Christ Jesus’ dead body was buried in the tomb… Again just like all the Laws of Mankind, there is always some exemption with the Burial practices… But God will judge and condemn us if we are financially capable of giving our loved ones a proper burial service and without contagious diseases that will lead to an Epidemic/Pandemic in the nation, and then we cremated the dead body because it is practical, less or fewer expenses and convenience on our part… we may find ourself at the end strip by God without wealth on our pocket. I had my will testament with my spouse, should at the time of my death, my family is financially capable, I like to be buried 6 ft. under the ground just like my parents whom I am the one who shoulders the financial expenses for the proper burial services. I believe it is the duty of the Children to provide a proper burial to their parents… In the Bible, one of the 10 commandments of God is “Honor thy Father and thy Mother.”… God had promised the Children of longer life who “HONOR” their parents up to the last end of their life… “Honor” is the highest “Respect” a person can give to another person most especially to their parents.

  • There is biblical teaching of BURIAL that is specifically thought by Christ Jesus… Luke 9:60, Jesus specifically said, “Let the Dead (Spiritually dead) BURY their Dead (physically dead)”… Christ Jesus specifically ordered/commanded/instructed to “BURY” and not “CREMATE.”… Denial of this, is denial to God’s words in the Bible… God said, “Honor thy Father and thy Mother”… Honor is the highest respect you can give your parents… Just like our Heroes (dead Soldiers) given a proper burial with 21 gun salute… how much more our parents, they are our FAMILY HEROES, that is why we need to give them proper Burial and not to Cremate them…unless with contagious disease/illness that will cause Pandemic and financial incapabilities (poor) of the family to give a proper burial.

  • How do we know that God will not judge and condemn us if we chose cremation?… then we are the ones Playing like God… We are telling God that cremation is OK… We are dictating to God which is right or wrong for us… If God liked/wanted cremation, then God should have taught Adam and Eve from the beginning that they should cremate the dead bodies in the first place,…. but then why do they practice BURIAL, where do they get this IDEA of BURYING the dead bodies?… unless God had taught Adam and Eve from the beginning, the proper way to dispose of the dead bodies of their loved ones and the burial practice was carried on up to this days… most who practice CREMATION are non-believers (Pagan) of the Creator (True) God… except Ancient Pagan Egyptians who believe in Burying in Tomb (Pyramids)… but still not thru cremation… For God, the CREMATION will be the PUNISHMENT for Mankind at the end… God said to Noah after the flood, I will no longer destroy the world (earth) by FLOOD, but as Prophesied in Revelation it will be destroyed thru FIRE (cremation)… Amen…

  • Is CREMATION pleasing in the Eyes of God?… NOPE… many Biblical passages/verses that burning (cremating) human flesh and blood (dead or alive) does not please God… But for Burning flesh and blood of killed “animal sacrifices” for the atonement of the Sin of the Jews was allowed in the old covenant of God to Israel… In the book of Ezekiel, God ordered specifically to burn (cremate) Human “DRY BONES”… why specifically DRY?… Logically speaking, because Dry Bones have no more “Flesh and blood” attached to them, it is like a plain WOOD… Bones that have not yet dried, have still some blood inside the bone marrow… According to the Bible, the “BLOOD” is Life, it is sacred to God, not even allowed to be eaten much more to be burnt (cremated).
