The 22 Major Arcana cards represent life’s karmic and spiritual lessons, while the 56 Minor Arcana cards reflect the trials and tribulations of life. Tarot is a divination practice, and reading for someone without their knowledge or consent is in bad practice. However, the romance of their ancient provenance and their connection to witchcraft have made them popular in recent years.
Witchcraft has gained popularity in millennial and Gen Z pop culture, and Tarot cards can be used for various purposes within magical spells, incantations, and rituals. The difference between white magic and black magic is that white magic is a tool for establishing intent and pure focus in spellcasting and “white” magic.

What is the trick behind tarot cards?
Tarot cards are not magic tricks or fortune telling machines, but a sacred mirror that removes the disconnect between inner and outer self through synchronicity. A standard deck of Tarot cards consists of 78 cards, including 22 Major Arcana cards (numbered 0-21) and 56 Minor Arcana cards (numbered 0-21). Major Arcana cards represent key milestones in life and often feature archetypal illustrations like The High Priestess, The Devil, and The Death Card.
What do Christians think about tarot cards?
Many Christians object to tarot cards due to their association with divination and fortune-telling. However, some are using them for self-directed spiritual contemplation. Gil Stafford, a retired Episcopal priest, incorporates tarot cards alongside the Enneagram and Myers-Briggs. Brittany Muller, author of The Contemplative Tarot: A Christian Guide to the Cards, uses tarot cards with the Book of Common Prayer for visio divina. Carl McColman offers an online course on Meditations on the Tarot, a classic Christian mysticism text with an afterword by Swiss theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar.
What is the true origin of tarot cards?
Tarot cards originated in Europe during the mid-15th century, with the earliest known decks being created in Italy for a game called tarocchi. These decks, like the Visconti-Sforza deck, were hand-painted and commissioned by wealthy families as symbols of their status. The Major Arcana, consisting of 22 cards, represents life lessons, spiritual themes, and archetypal energies, with each card having its own unique symbolism.
The Minor Arcana, consisting of four suits (Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles) corresponds to the elements of fire, water, air, and earth, focusing on everyday matters, personal experiences, and challenges and opportunities encountered in life.

What religion do tarot cards come from?
This literature review examines the relationship between Tarot cards and New Age religion, emphasizing their function in the contemporary study of the New Age movement.
How did tarot become spiritual?
Tarots were first used for occult and fortune-telling in France around 1780. Each card in the major arcana has a specific meaning, with the minor arcana focusing on business and career ambitions. The tarot deck is shuffled by the questioner, and a fortune-teller then lays out a few cards in a spread pattern. The meaning of a card is modified based on its position in the spread, its orientation, and the meaning of adjacent cards.
What is the psychology behind tarot cards?
Tarot readings involve the use of symbolism, intuition, and the human psyche to access the collective unconscious and deeper layers of awareness. This process aligns with psychological concepts like archetypes, symbolism, and narrative therapy, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and symbolism in shaping our understanding of ourselves and the world. Three factors contributing to transformation following a tarot session include positive expectations, the placebo effect, and the belief in the effectiveness of the treatment. This optimistic outlook can lead to real improvements in well-being.
Is manifesting a sin?
Manifestation is a manipulation of influence to be honored, rather than honoring God. Romans 1:21-26 offers cautionary wisdom, reminding us that those who knew God chose to resist the opportunity to honor Him, leading to darkened hearts and fools. Many people have exchanged the immortal God for images and the truth about God for a lie, serving the creature instead of the Creator. It is important to avoid serving the creature instead of the Creator and to assess cultural trends presented as Scripture. The enemy twisted Scripture to tempt Eve to eat the fruit, and this same trick is still being used today.
Is there any truth to tarot cards?
Early French occultists claimed that tarot cards had esoteric links to ancient Egypt, the Kabbalah, Indic Tantra, or the I Ching. However, scholarly research reveals that tarot cards were invented in Italy in the early 15th century for playing games, and there is no evidence of significant use of them for divination until the late 18th century. The belief in the divinatory meaning of the cards is closely associated with a belief in their occult properties, which was propagated by prominent Protestant Christian clerics and Freemasons.
From its uptake as an instrument of divination in 18th-century France, the tarot went on to be used in hermeneutic, magical, mystical, semiotic, and psychological practices. It was used by Romani people when telling fortunes and as a Jungian psychological apparatus for tapping into “absolute knowledge in the unconscious”, a tool for archetypal analysis, and even a tool for facilitating the Jungian process of individuation.
Are tarot cards mysticism?
Tarot cards, originally used by Italian nobles and aristocrats as playing cards, evolved into a cornerstone of mysticism and spiritual exploration. They were initially used for skill, strategy, and luck in a game called “tarocchi”. However, they also had hidden potential for unraveling life’s mysteries, divining the future, and exploring the human psyche. Italy played a significant role in this transformation, with the Visconti-Sforza deck, created in the mid-15th century for the Duke of Milan, being one of the earliest surviving tarot decks. The deck’s intricate imagery and symbolism hint at a deeper, more mystical purpose, yet to be fully revealed.

before i really start this article, as a relatively new Christian (~2 years) im firmly convinced a true practicing Christian will know in their heart if what theyre doing is sinful. i appreciate how simply the bible defines what to do and not to do, and feel the holy spirit informs us when we have doubt. i dunno how revolutionary this is to more seasoned Christians but it really seems like to me a lot of “Christians” dont actually listen to the guidance God provides us on a daily basis. maybe the answer here, like the answer to many things, is to pray more.
A true Christian will exhibit fruits of the spirit and have a testimony of regeneration and sanctification. This is why large churces do not work. There is no accountability and there is a lack of church discipline. If we modeled the Church in Acts 2 we would have closer relationships and see the needs of our brothers and sisters.
She’s trying to serve two masters which won’t work she’s rebellious against God even the devil acknowledges Jesus Christ and God the father but doesn’t mean they serve God and they don’t serve but only themselves. she’s lost in sin and doing what her true master wants and that’s the devil do unholy acts say your doing them for God it’s a mockery to him…
King solomon practiced magic. He goes into great detail how he did it in the books that were left out of the bible. however your relationship with god is the only thing that matters, follow the path jesus laid out for you. If you want to attempt to tap into the ability to do miracles like jesus did but always remember it’s not what matters. God’s love matters. The reason why the people of the past left those books out of the bible is simple, magic is another way to distract yourself to seduce yourself away from God. King solomon went of in the deep end bad. And that pattern with anyone who practiced magic regardless of motivation was pretty obvious.
My ex wife left me for this life. She said she worshipped Gods now. After 3 years I can tell you perusal from the sidelines of the road that life leads. It’s so empty and it amazed me how GOD worked through that time. From not having custody of my son to horrible financial circumstances to complete heartbreak, then GOD showed up. I now have custody of my son and now married to an amazing woman, I had to learn a very hard lesson and I cherish this woman and extremely thankful for the life I currently have. You will know them by their fruits. I pray for these people, the overall reasoning of this practice is control, controlling things and living a narcissistic life. There is no white or black. Pray for these people.
Magic is an act of allowing forces to work through you, it is very real, I’ve seen it and it is terrifying. Christianity has a form of this that spares your soul the burden of consorting with demons or trying to do any of this yourself. That is Jesus Christ, he instead does this all for you and does exactly only what is needed not only for you in your selfish personal perspective of your own life but also to turn the hearts even of those whom you may hate or judge. That is the real problem with magic, it is based in personal will and survival as if surviving this life confers any benefit besides a few extra years which mean nothing because it ends anyway and the latter years are like a waiting room. You are likely naive to the price of this thing if it attracts you, your soul doesn’t age like your body except for in moments when you truly fall. Christ ask of us to put this burden upon him and that is all that you should be concerned with doing.
The scripture says by this, the world will know that you are my disciples. That you have love one for another. If Father is not hiding your salvation form the world then he not hiding it from the body of Yahshua. They scripture says that there are some characteristics that you take on as a member of the body and behaviors that as you put on the new man becomes your new nature. The fruit of the spirit are evident in your life, the gifts of the spirit are also evident. The scripture says Mar 16:14-18 KJV 14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
You can have free will and predestination. After all, look at Joseph. There is no such thing as coincidence when God is involved. The delineation between agnosticism and modern/progessive supposed Christianity is difference between someone saying “sure there is a god, but I don’t know who it is” and someone saying “sure Jesus is God, but I’m not gonna do what he says I should do”. One is a claim of ignorance and the other treason aka rebellion against God.
Thy biggest secret in the occult world is that while everyone just assumes without question that this is life and what comes next is death but its the opposite that’s true.. this isn’t life thus is death and we are all in the underworld.. why do you think they say Satan is the lord of this world? Because this is hell my friends..
You gotta be suuuuper disconnected if you go so far down the rabbit hole that you 1 believe in god and then 2 think magic is real 😂😂😂 But to be fair – Pagans – hate that word, its a religious nword – were known to practice a craft and were also aggressively recruited to Christianity. Christianity even adopted alot of their holidays. Religion is brain washing 😂
So I used to think like this ‘Christian witch’ as well I was perhaps a little misguided in my own unique way in that I thought a flexible God did not put all of his eggs in one basket meaning the occult practices were simply tools from different cultures to worship or expressing their beliefs/faith and to serve God. Praise the Lord he has answered my questions and shown me the truth and I have long since repented of Tarot card reading.
