  • That sucks that regular websites we should be able to watch for free do we have to go through all this crap because half the time you’re in town if you’re in the wrong window and you’re living in a certain part of the country you can’t even get this to come in I’m only 9 miles from Portland Oregon and it’s hard to get any kind of local websites I was lucky I got 30 and then a couple of them didn’t want to work so I did it over again now I’m not getting any so I’m ready to throw in the book and it’s a brand new TV I just bought

  • I am partially deaf.. I call myself ‘socially’ deaf because I cannot hear in a group environment, nor hear the radio or tv clearly, but I can hear one or two people in a quiet room.. it depends on the air in the room. Also I do not know if all deaf people experience the same but I am directionally deaf. I can hear mobile phone ring but unless I can see it or it is somewhere very close to me I cannot tell which direction the sound is coming from. To really test any hearing device you would need to give it to a person with hearing impairment because we hear differently. just a suggestion. All those cheap devices I have tried have the same problem which you outlined … they can’t reduce background noise and focus on just voices.

  • I bought mine from Walmart it’s different than yours mine has a microphone on top and in the front I noticed you didn’t have one on top you must have ordered yours I think the biggest problem with mine is the headphones are piece of crap they sound really cheap I had to set it underneath the phone and turn the phone down real low in order to barely hear it I can’t hear it whisper across the road can’t hear my TV with it but I can hear it without it even if I turn up the miracle you’re all the way up if this is military grade those guys are dead but they’ll never hear anybody come and get them

  • Unfortunately these things never work and the reason why is because of the feedback in the microphone that’s why you always get that double type of feedback you yet and they’ve never been able to fix it when it comes to these cheap products. The only way you’re going to hear better is if you spend a lot more money than 15 or $20 for these devices there are devices out there that do work but you’re looking around 100th $200 for them. And if you have a problem hearing then you might want to go to a specialist and get your ears checked it might just be a buildup of wax in your ear and that can be removed from a doctor so stay away from these products they don’t work and it just a waste of money and don’t even think about backing them on Kickstarter or Indiegogo because you’ll really get ripped off

  • It was the same for me, as well. It’s a condensed microphone, so it basically picks up every piece of noise in the room and doesn’t actually amplify it that much. It just give you the illusion that it does by being overly sensitive. (That’s why you can hear your fingers so vivid while handling the device. You’re basically rubbing the microphone while you hold it) That’s whole gimmick. You’re like, “Oh, wow! This thing IS pretty powerful!” When really it’s not. Like when you were listening to the television with the Magic Ear first and could hear it real well, but when you took the buds out, nothing really changed (other than over sensitivity and distortion from picking up everything in the room)
