The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories, with some theories suggesting that certain heroes and villains are actually heroes. Some fans believe that Bucky Barnes was brainwashed into killing Peter Parker’s parents while he was the Winter Soldier, while others believe that the Stamford incident was an in-universe operation by either the U.S. government or SHIELD.
One popular theory is that the Secret Invasion crossover event turned the entire Marvel Universe upside down, but one series reveals a potential conspiracy that dwarfs the Skrull invasion’s impact. There are also fan theories about the Avengers, Spider-Man, Loki, and more, which have come true in various ways.
WandaVision on Disney+ is sparking interesting conspiracy theories all around the internet, with Episode 4 in the books and Episode 5 coming soon. An in-universe conspiracy theory is that the Stamford incident was an false flag operation by either the U.S. government or SHIELD.
There have been many Marvel characters who are written as independent entities, aware of the medium and their own identity. Here are 17 Marvel fan theories to consider:
- Bucky Barnes was brainwashed into killing Peter Parker’s parents while he was the Winter Soldier.
- The Secret Wars are a grand, multiverse-spanning epic that will feature universes where classic Marvel events are still unfolding.
- One of the most popular theories behind Red Skull’s existence is related to the power of the Tesseract.
In conclusion, there are numerous conspiracy theories surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with some theories suggesting that certain heroes and villains may be pawns of the villains.

📹 Top 10 MCU Theories That Turned Out to Be True
We’re all a little smug when our theories are proven. For this list, we’ll be looking at fan speculation about the Marvel Cinematic …
My conspiracy theory: Wandavision- Agatha Harkness was trying to be the hero. 1. She knew how powerful Wanda was. 2. She knew that she was dangerous and mentally unstable. 3. She did little to no harm to Westview residents. 4. She tried to keep Wanda calm. 5. When all else failed, she had to defeat her.
That the Fury that got dusted was actually Talos was easy to spot. “Hill” kept calling Fury “Nick”. In Captain Marvel Fury explained that everybody calls him FURY. No exceptions, Mother, children (if he ever gets around to fathering any) and his fellow agents all call him FURY or just Sir. That’s also how Fury knew his boss was a fake when he called him Nicholas. The real Director would have never made that mistake.
Bucky killing Peter’s parents would actually make a lot of sense as it ties into the main comics canon in which they were in fact undercover agents who were assassinated. I don’t think it’s likely in the MCU for two reasons though: First. since they already did that angle with Tony’s parents. Second, if Bucky had killed them, Peter and May would likely have been on his list of people he made amends to in “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.
Would it be soul crushing to see Tony Stark Iron Man come back in the MCU after what happened to his protégé in Spider-Man No Way Home where everyone including Happy Hogan has forgotten about his existence and his classic Spider-Man suit is going to get him easily killed if he fought against another Thanos level threat?
10. The Parker’s death – or even darker maybe they were HYDRA members and SHIELD Killed them 9. Agents of SHIELD is in my opinion 100% in the main universe – it was affected by Winter soldier, Dark World, it was the opening mission for Age of Ultron, it provided the helicarrier in that movie, and the 2nd to the last season even talked about the battle of new york from Infinity War, that season ended right before the snap, and the next season looked like it was more “mad max” as if it was in the 5 years of the snap – i will say maybe at the end of the last season they entered an alternate universe but i’m hopfull we will see the “SHIELD Coulson training center” in another Disney+ show. 8. not sure why would one evil person care about the other evil person? 7. nope i’m thinking Steve has died – as they have an exhibit for him, and SAM is the new Captain, also he would have been like 190+ years at this point and Peggy died so he died from a broken heart 6. RDJ will be back as the voice for the War Machine/new Iron Man armor – in Armor Wars 5. 100% yes – that Fury in Ultron cut his sandwich wrong 4. of course – Nebula lost her sister on that planet, she knew what happened. 3. again why would one evil person care about another evil person’s plans? 2. we know this is true from “What If?” – Vision could have killed Thanos, what Strange did was STOPPED at the 1st win, he never looked past that 1 win 1. yep – it’s why he had the fake one
I agree with #2, but not for the same reason. In Loki, it’s revealed that the TVA take in Variants once they create a Nexus Event that steers away from the “Sacred Timeline.” So yeah, Strange most definitely saw thousands, if not a few million victories. But only one that didn’t cause a Nexus Event.

My favorite is called the “Ragnarok Theory” which states that Ragnarok happen in another universe before in 616. 1: In Thor Ragnarok, Thor sees a vision of Ragnarok before the real event. Loki claims “It’s just a dream” but as we know Loki lies a lot. 2: Loki takes place during Avengers which occurs before Thor: Ragnarok, so it would make sense that Loki would want to keep the multiverse a secret. 3: Morever, we learn in Multiverse of Madness that dreams are events in alternate universes. And this vision was a dream, so it makes sense. 4: You may be saying that the multiverse created in Phase 4, but you are wrong. The multiverse was broken/open in Phase 4, which means it did exist. In conclusion, this could become a What If…? episode in the future.
I’m sure it’s already been said, Thanos was waiting for the death of Odin and Ragnarok to make his move on the 6 stones. You can make the argument he waited for Odin to die to go after the Power Stone in Nova Prime, and went after the Space Stone after Ragnarok. Also waiting got him the deaths of the Ancient One & Ego, making his path even easier.
AOS is in the main timeline, Coulson was resurrected after being killed by Loki, It was Coulson that told Hill to bring together the Avengers to raid the Hydra Sokovian Base to retrieve Loki’s scepter and it was Coulson who lended Fury the Helicarrier. None of this alternate universe shit, it’s all in the main timeline.
The way Iron Man dies in End-game is dumb af. The way how they had more capable heroes who could have done the snap (DR STRANGE) without even touching the glove, have DR STRANGE be distracted to hold back water (WAUW what a super heroe) etc. Was just dumb. I dont like END-GAME at all, was such a lazy movie, lazy plot lazy writing, INFINITY WAR was so much better.
Number 1 should be Steve went back to dance with Peggy but after that he freed Bucky from HYDRA and got together with him/married him. That’s why when Sam sees the wedding ring and asks ‘are you going to tell me about her’ all Steve says is ‘no, i don’t think I will’, because it’s not her, it’s him and it’s Bucky.
What if we get a skrull doubble agent who tries to warn the avengers about future takeovers or spies on shield or other power groups and what if hydra is still trying to remake cap’s super solider serum but they don’t care about the results and want to make an army of super soliders hence what the kraken brand means and that Tony AI theory might start a new wave of movies or shows espically what if.
The only one I’m all in on from that list, because I’ve thought it myself, is that if he saw all those possible futures, the only one he CONSIDERED a win was the one that he went with. E.g. the one where Tony dies. He doesn’t even necessarily have had to lie either. Maybe in all the other timelines, something worse happened after. Maybe there’s a timeline where whoever gets the stones then uses them for their own purposes (we’ve seen it happen in the comics). After all, they could have stopped Thanos in that timeline if Thor had just “gone for the head”, and Strange couldn’t see that? He couldn’t have used astral projection or something else to reach out to someone on Earth to tell them they could stop Thanos like that? But what if by killing Thanos and having all the stones right there, something worse happened? What if Thanos was the only one who’d DESTROY the stones (or scatter them into billions of pieces, since it’s also said they can’t be destroyed) and he needed that to happen to prevent something else? He knew they’d find a way to get them, but then have to return them so they wouldn’t be a threat anymore, and in doing so that was the only he considered a “win”.
I think a lot of these theories are pretty far fetched. But the one at number 3 might be more accurate. And so too might number 9. The later seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D felt like the Avengers didn’t exist after their first gathering. Why Hell! Maybe the agents even arrived in another universe in the series finale instead of the original timeline.
No. 9 is still an on-going debacle. It really should be addressed by Marvel Studios officially and canonically. I’ve done Main MCU TImeline on Reddit for years and I’ve been getting heat over it. Especially now I added Daredevil & The Defenders shows to Main MCU 616 Timeline, over the fact b’cuz of Matt Murdock cameo in NWH & Kingpin in Hawkeye & soon Echo shows. Regardless of the other heroes in The Defenders and such. The thing with AoS was that it veered off into its own story after few seasons (forgot which season) and concluded on its own without any ties to Main MCU.
I didn’t realize Dr Strange lying about there being only one way was a common theory. It is my head canon. He tried millions of possibilities but the one thing he had not seen was what happens if he did give up the time stone. But because he gives up the time stone he doesn’t have the ability to see how that turns out and go back so It was a gamble and it paid off
What type of person do you think Doctor Strange is in the MCU after sacrificing Tony Stark to stop Thanos in Avengers Endgame and agreeing to make everyone forget about Peter Parker in Spider-Man No Way Home? Both tech savvy geniuses have so much to contribute to the world and Doctor Strange dropped the bomb on both of them
The MCU actually began with Wesley Snipes’ Blade. Every time a character was recast, a new timeline branches and the old one is pruned. Also, Hulk can jump between dimensions, which has caused an incursion. That’s why there hasn’t been any Hulk solo movies. In 2008 alone, there was Ed Norton, Lou Ferrigno, and Bill Bixby in one movie.
About Cap being worthy of Mjolnir, one theory suggests that Steve was always worthy all-along. When trying to lift the hammer it hinted that he can lift the hammer but didn’t because he has a humble character and he didn’t want to embarrass Thor in front of the guys, and Thor somehow knew that based on his reaction. The principle of being worthy of the hammer is either you are worthy or you’re not, not almost.
Honorable Mention: *The Real Mandarin -I speculated this long ago that the “Mandarin (both of them)” we saw in Iron Man 3 wasn’t the real deal, but a red herring meant to throw us off his trail. Sure enough, I was right. The REAL STEEL DEAL finally made his proper debut in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Effectively decanonizing Iron Man 3’s Mandarin. In fact, he even took Trevor Slatery as prisoner for using his name.
I had read somewhere long before Age Of Ultron happened that Thor had decided that if he ever died, he wanted Steve to have Mjolnir because he believed that he was the most worthy to wield it. So that’s how I knew Steve would end up using it. And don’t forget that Steve using it led to one of the most chill inducing moment in the MCU! Him calling for the hammer after everyone arrived and he shouted “AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!”
It’s possible He Who Remains, from Season One of Loki, was responsible for the Titan extinction. If Thanos had not become the last TItan, then he would not have gone after the Infinity Stones and succeeded; the Avengers never would have traveled back in time; Loki wouldn’t have ended up in Outer Mongolia; and he wouldn’t have been arrested by the TVA. And he knew all along Loki and Sylvie were going to show up in his office.
You know what I want? I want Avengers vs X-men and then they need to become a team to take down beings like Galactus and Dormammu and then even more powerful heroes and villains and corrupted heroes from other universes to come in for the greatest showdown ever… causing a multiversal fall leading to a familiar enemy… causing the Watcher to intervene and break his oath and the creator himself comes to the rescue….. That would be amazing, to bad Marvel is stuck here with best characters dying and Black Widow CGI
not only was the time travel capabilities of the Quantum Realm integral to restoring everyone Thanos blipped in Endgame, but also in helping Coulson’s SHIELD team stop the Chronicoms in the series finale also the second Captain Marvel was announced people started theorizing that Secret Invasion would be coming….sure enough, we’re getting a Secret Invasion Disney Plus series. Given that the group of Skrulls we met in Captain Marvel were refugees and not villainous, it’ll be very interesting to see how things play out
The Marvel comic universe is nothing simple, but I’m glad Disney made it easier to digest for non comic fans. Hopefully Warner and Discovery will do this with the DC Universe cause that shit HARD AF to understand. I’ve been reading comics for 15 years and DC Comics is really entertaining because of that, Marvel was always easy to me.

Is Samuel Stern the Leader the best choice to be the main Villain of Captain America A New World Order instead of someone like Sin the daughter of Red Skull, Arnim-Zola, Iron Nail and Baron Blood? How is Sam Wilson Captain America Falcon and Joaquin Torres Falcon going to deal with all the Hulk villains in this movie?
13:26 Fun Fact When Janet says to stay out of the Tardigrade Field, she means “Tardigrade” as in the ones found in the Quantum Realm. In actuality though, Tardigrades are real life prehistoric bugs which roam people’s backyards and other such spaces and lands. They can survive anything, from a stab puncture to the vaccum of space. Just drip a drop of water on one to revive it (this cute creature will not multiply into freaky looking ones).
my MCU X-Men fan theory: keep First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 1 & 2, New Mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline as there is a massive gap between 1963-1995 with the Dark Phoenix cast appearing in Deadpool 1&2, these films can happen after the events of Dark Phoenix and since Essex Corps is referenced in New Mutants, this could happen in the Dark Phoenix timeline after these events, Professor X uses Cerebro to convince the world that mutants don’t exist and erase any new mutant activities from people’s minds whenever one is witnessed. however the only person who knows is Nick Fury, who agrees with Professor X to keep tabs on any new mutant activity. this is also referenced in a deleted scene from Iron Man 1, when Nick mentions X-Men the X-Men can work in secret between 1992 up until Endgame. when Tony Stark snaps his fingers, the mind stone reverses the effects of Professor X’s actions. resulting in the public now remembering who the X-Men are as for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Hydra’s meddling with the mind stone prematurely reversed Professor X’s actions, as it was mentioned that the mind stone unlocks dormant abilities already present in the brain my theory brings the Dark Phoenix X-Men cast into the MCU, thus eliminating the need to recast the entire X-Men team. the actors are young, they’ve expressed interest in returning and continuing their roles. it’s an option for Marvel Studios to do that I’ve explained my theory to a lot of people, most of whom say it works.
You completely got the Hulk/Hulkbuster prediction wrong. The idea was that people would think it was Iron Man, and Hulk would burst out in a surprise attack. Which absolutely didn’t happen, as Banner couldn’t transform and Iron Man was in a completely different planet at the time. So no, it did not come true. Not at all.
I have a few theories myself such as Cap wielding mjolnir so effectively points to him wielding it before i think he may have ran into the version of himself that stayed with peggy at some point and just kept it to himself also tony when he met his father seemed confused about his mothers pregnancy probably because it didn’t aline with his birthday meaning his brother is out there a smarter physically weaker him in the comics tony was adopted and his brother was kept secret so i hope part of that comes true
There is also a theory about dr strange seeing the future That they can only win 1 time in 14 000 probability Dr strange saw that the only way to win is to let iron man alive and thanos should snap at the right time where ant man is in the quantum realm So he buy some time with thanos then give the time stone so stark will be alive Why did I said tony should be alive and ant man should be in quantum realm Simple tony stark can create time travel but he didnt realize it until ant man get out of the quantum realm and he said time is different in that realm
Is there a theory about Adam Brashear the Blue_Marvel making his MCU debut in the Captain Marvel the Marvels movie since there are rumors about Shamier Anderson playing him? Would it be awesome to see him fighting alongside Carol Danvers, Spectrum and Miss Marvel Kamala Khan against someone like Korvac?

Is Kang the Conqueror the best choice to be the main Villain of Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumainia since he’s too OP for the shrinking heroes but the movie is going to end with him using them to escape the Quantum Realm and enter the main Marvel Universe so that he can set up the events of Avengers Kang Dynasty and Avengers Secret Wars? What would happen if we saw Swarm, Crossfire and the Living Laser as the main villains of this movie?
Apart from what Chukwudi Iwuji was wearing in the Comic book convention as the High-Evolutionary, Could that costume show him as just Herbert Wyndham and do you think we will see him as the High-Evolutionary wearing a comic book accurate suit with his whole body Armored? Would it be awesome if he survived the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 movie and appeared in Avengers Secret Wars?
