Exist Any New Signs In Astrology?

NASA has revealed that due to changes in the Earth’s axis and the movement of the solar system and stars, there are now 13 zodiac signs. Astronomy has shifted these astrological signs, with the 13th zodiac sign being Ophiuchus. Anyone born between November 29 and December 17 would no longer be a Scorpio or a Sagittarius, but an Ophiuchus.

The concept of the 13th zodiac sign was first proposed by Steven Schmidt in 1970 in his book “Astrology 14: Your New Sun Sign”. The new set of zodiac signs would look like Capricorn: Jan 20 – Feb 16, Aquarius: Feb 16 – March 11, Pisces: March 11 – April 18, and Aries: April 18 – May 13.

However, NASA has added a new 13th zodiac sign, Ophiuchus, to the mix. From December 13 2023 to January 1, 2024, Mercury will appear to move in one direction, then slow down after days of observation. NASA has denied claims that it changed the zodiac to include a 13th astrological sign, as it is not a new sign.

The Babylonians divided the zodiac into 12 astrological signs, each occupying 1/12 (or 30°) of its great circle around 500 BC. Many of the Babylonian zodiac signs were named after the gods, but the 13th zodiac sign is not Ophiuchus.

Are there new zodiac signs in 2024?

Ophiuchus, the ‘Serpent-bearer’ astrological symbol, has been suggested in sidereal astrology as a 13th sign in addition to the 12 signs of the tropical zodiac. Originating in 1970 with Steven Schmidt’s suggestion of a 14-sign zodiac, a 13-sign zodiac was promulgated by Walter Berg and Mark Yazaki in 1995. This idea gained popularity in Japan, where Ophiuchus is known as Hebitsukai-za. However, in sidereal and tropical astrology, a 12-sign zodiac is based on dividing the ecliptic into 12 equal parts, rather than the IAU constellation boundaries.

Astrological signs do not correspond to their namesakes, especially in the tropical system where divisions are fixed relative to the equinox and move relative to the constellations. The latest revision, reviewed on 23 September 2024, confirms this.

What will be the zodiac in 2027?

The Goat is the eighth animal in the Chinese zodiac cycle, representing the Earth. It is often referred to as the “Ram” or “Sheep” sign, as the Chinese word yáng is more accurately translated as Caprinae, a taxonomic subfamily that includes both goats and sheep. The Year of the Goat is associated with the 8th Earthly Branch symbol, 未 (wèi).

The Chinese word yáng refers to both goats and sheep, while the terms shānyáng (山羊) and miányáng (绵羊; 綿羊) refer exclusively to goats and sheep, respectively. The interpretation of goat or sheep depends on culture, with Vietnamese referring to it as mùi, Japan as hitsuji, Korea and Mongolia as ram or sheep, and regional distinctions within China.

The Chinese regard sheep as an auspicious animal, and the year of the sheep signifies a year of promise and prosperity. “Yáng” is a component of the character “xiang” (祥), meaning auspiciousness, and also a part of the character “shan” (善), which counts kindness and benevolence. The Year of the Goat is associated with the 8th Earthly Branch symbol, 未 (wèi).

What are the planetary changes in 2024?

From June 5th to June 6th, 2024, a rare planetary conjunction will place all five classical planets in the zodiac sign of Taurus, affecting all Aries. This cosmic energy can cause significant life shifts, heightened feelings, and profound personal transformation. Aries may desire to probe into life mysteries, spiritual realms, or the occult during this period. Some may undergo severe changes or near-death situations, but this is also a favorable time for conscious transformation, letting go of negative behavior patterns, complexes, or destructive tendencies. This is the best time to face addictions, compulsions, or psychological problems and be reborn.

Are there 14 zodiac signs?

The Babylonian zodiac system, which was divided into 12 astrological signs, is still used today. The ancient Greeks called the zone zōdiakos kyklos, “circle of animals”, or ta zōdia, “the little animals”, as the constellations through which the ecliptic passes represent animals. The Chinese zodiac system also involves a cycle of animals, with each symbol representing one year in a repeating cycle of 12 years.

The precession of the equinoxes has caused the constellations to shift eastward, causing the dates of the zodiac signs to no longer correspond to the astronomical constellations in which the Sun actually appears. The Sun does not spend one month in each constellation, and even passes through one constellation not considered a member of the zodiac.

Despite astrology not being supported by science, the belief that one’s personality is determined by the zodiac sign at birth is still widespread. A 2022 poll showed that 27% of Americans believe in astrology, with 37% among those under age 30.

Is Ophiuchus an official zodiac sign?

Ophiuchus, the 13th constellation of the zodiac, is often associated with the sun born between November 30 and December 18. Although not an official zodiac constellation, it can be seen near the southern horizon from the Northern Hemisphere during July, August, and September evenings. The constellation is located on the Scorpion and its red star Antares. From the Southern Hemisphere, Ophiuchus is closer to overhead, with its brightest star being Rasalhague. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) established the official boundary lines for all 88 constellations in the 1930s.

Why did they add a 13th zodiac?

NASA claims that Ophiuchus, one of the 13 major constellations in the zodiac, was not created by ancient Babylonians. The Babylonians chose to exclude Ophiuchus from the zodiac because they followed a 12-month calendar and assigned other zodiac signs to different months. NASA also clarified that it does not study astrology, which is considered pseudoscience. The Western zodiac is based on real constellations, which inspired ancient Greek mythology.

Early astrologists assigned meanings to each zodiac symbol, believed to inform the temperament of people born within each sign’s duration. However, there is no scientific basis for each zodiac’s meaning.

What zodiac will 2026 be?

Commemorative certificates are available in accordance with the Chinese zodiac, which is based on the lunar calendar and comprises twelve animal years. The current year, the Year of the Horse, is one such year. These certificates are designed to commemorate the Chinese zodiac year of the horse, which is traditionally associated with qualities such as honesty, outspokenness, and a certain ease of manner. It should be noted, however, that these certificates cannot be used as proof of identity.

Are there new astrological signs?

In 2024, two new zodiac signs, Ophiuchus and Cetus, are proposed by astrology. Ophiuchus, located between Scorpio and Sagittarius, is related to Greek mythology and is compatible with Pisces, Aries, Cancer, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. It interacts very little with Earth’s orbit, affecting the distribution, elements, and dates of other signs. The idea was first floated by Steven Schmidt in 1970 and validated by NASA.

Did NASA change the zodiac sign?

NASA has refuted allegations that it has modified the zodiac to incorporate a 13th astrological sign. The agency asserted that the alteration was not an alteration of the zodiac itself, but rather an addition to a previously unspecified sign.
