In Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, players can learn various magic spells through storyline events. There are seven basic spells to unlock, each of which can be upgraded twice, with the final form being the most powerful version. To obtain new spells and upgrades, players must complete certain events according to their magic type.
Upgrading a spell causes it to counterattack with extra damage to the attacking enemy, which is vital in later boss battles. Aero has three stages: Aero, Merlin, and Fairy Godmother. Two of these are earned from Merlin and the Fairy Godmother by acquiring every upgrade for every spell and earning every summon, while one is earned from the white.
Magic is a command menu option in Kingdom Hearts and its Final Mix version, used to select a learned spell that is then cast through Sora’s weapon, onto a locked-on target, or centered on Sora himself. All spells do the same thing to note an upgrade – adding a suffix. Second tier spells are suffixed by -ra, and third tier spells are suffixed by -aga.
Players can find or upgrade magic spells through sidequesting and optional content. They can upgrade Fire to Fira by defeating the final boss of the Agrabah world, Jafar Genie, or Fira to Firaga by completing the Hollow Bastion world. Magic inflicts elemental damage to enemies during battle, and players can access a variety of different spells from the Magic section of the Command Menu. Curaga is gained by talking to Aerith at Hollow Bastion multiple times. The battle with the MCP during the second visit to Space Paranoids will reward players with the final Reflect Element, which will fully upgrade Sora’s Reflect Magic.

📹 Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix | Synthesis Guide | How to Get Ultima Weapon!
A complete synthesis guide to Kingdom Hearts?! You don’t say! And I can get Sora’s best keyblade, the Ultima Weapon?! What?
Also for anyone perusal the article, for the strongest magic possible equip Sora with a keychain that increases his MP by 2 or 3 points (the former can be acquired after obtaining the basic level of all seven spells in Merlin’s house, the latter from defeating the Ice Titan in Olympus Colosseum), and also equipment that boost his MP by one or two points each (such MP boosting equipment can be synthesized and two instances of equipment that boost MP by two points can be found in the game). Higher MP makes damaging spells and damaging summons exponentially stronger, Aero, Stop, and summons last longer, and Bambi to drop MP orbs that restore more MP (at 5 and 7 MP). Though, if you focus on MP over strength, Sora’s physical attacks may become very weak especially against bosses.
Wait, isn’t Gravity optional? You claim you can skip the Thunder spell entirely, but then claim Gravity which is later in the Olympus Coliseum storyline isn’t optional. Oogie Boogie and his manor are optional bosses which is why he gets stronger after Kairi is rescued, similar to Ursula’s optional boss battles.

Coming in from the xbox release yesterday, HOOOOOboi do I have my work cut out for me it seems!! But thank you for the clear and concise guide!!! I never did this as a kid when the game was first released. Always wanted to, but got bored too quick. Now that achievements are a thing to keep me focused, here’s hoping it goes smoothly! I just hope I can do this on my Proud run, cause I’m tackling that first Dx
Tysm for this guide! Was super helpful. For the serenity power I have a small tip; if you’re struggling with it and you’re in the 50-80 level range what I recommend is you go ahead and synthesize the items you can all the way through to 29 once you get at least one single serenity power. This will give you some BOMB magic accessories that raise your MP a lot. In combination with the Lady Luck keyblade that should give you quite a bit of time to spam Ragnarok hit on the mushroom guy’s head. I ALMOST went and did the NeverLand secret boss and got the improved stop spell to help cause omg so annoying how many times I had to do this dude.
Very awesome guide, thanks! I particularly like that you organized them by worlds, so i don’t have to jump from world to world a billion times. For those intimidated by the task, it’s nowhere near as bad as it sounds. I waited til i was at the end of the game, and i had already gathered a large amount of what i needed. Everything else is going rather quickly, i’ve gotten most of it in 4-5 hours.
4:10 You say that this part sucks, but you make it sound like killing those Sniperwilds is better. With the Pink Agaricus you have to have a certain amount of MP to get the serenity powers and even then it’s only a chance, but it doesn’t take much effort to make them respawn so redoing it is pretty easy. I’d say that it took me about 30 minutes to get all 7 serenity powers that you mentioned. You also said that you can’t let Donald and Goofy hit the Pink Agaricus at all (because it subtracts 1 point per hit), but they never attacked when I did it, so that must have been changed or something, because I’ve never experienced that… At least it’s a set pattern, you don’t have to think on the fly. Though I agree that getting the cap by hitting it 100 times is absurd, not to mention that you have to have chosen the staff at the start to even have a chance, but to get serenity powers, you only need 40 to have a chance, so it’s not bad. But with the Sniperwilds, if your strength isn’t high enough, they don’t die thus alerting each other and making it impossible to kill them. Sure you can use stop, but if you can’t even kill them then it really doesn’t matter. I’m just saying that at least the Pink Agaricus takes little effort to do in comparison, but of course I chose the staff, so that didn’t help, but I wanted 100% as well. I don’t mind grinding for levels, but I really wanted that EXP accessory earlier 🙁
I may consider giving up on trying to get Ultima Weapon. I still have to go get every item from grinding all enemies on different worlds which isnt as bad. The sniperwilds are pain in my ass. Its stressful and frustrating trying to grind Sniperwilds for hours and hours. Idk why they had to make it harder to obtain the Ultima Weapon. Is it still possible to beat Ansem without it? Cuz I want to move on to the next games.
Okay so I am going for the 15hr trophy and am waiting for the clock to reset after 100hrs. Are you able to get ultima weapon prior to completing game? (I ask b/c in the guide he is in the “final rest/linked worlds” area) which I assume is the end of the game. I am currently farming everything and doing other cleanup trophies till the 100hr reset.
Ok so this is after reading the wiki but if you go to wonderland in the bizarre room(I’m almost at the end boss for reference) and use Bambi along with any keyblade and equipment that enhances you mo and summon you can summon Bambi and he has a 20% chance to drop a frost gem when you fill his gauge three time and I can almost fill it twice in one run in the bizarre room
Almost imposible doing this cause of the bad drop item system this game have you have to spend like 1hour to get 1power stone and you need a lot of them wtf they need to drop like 2 or 3 of each item drop materials damn i have the drop perk with each character and still takes me hours and still no power stone
