Bad Omens, an American rock band from Richmond, Virginia, announced the departure of bassist Vincent Riquier in 2018 due to a severe back injury. Riquier, a professional bassist and tattooer, played an important role in the band and was involved in the management aspects. Born in Husqvarna, Sweden, Riquier became involved with the band through his association with the original bassist.
The first and only lineup change in Bad Omens occurred in 2018 when Riquier left for health and personal reasons. A statement about this was published on social media. Bad Omens is a Los Angeles-based metalcore act that formed out of several different projects in 2013. Vocalist Noah Sabastian began writing music outside of the band.
Ruffino filled the bass position and Bad Omens downsized to a quartet. The band took several months off the road before Riquier’s departure. The only album featuring Riquier, who left the band in July 2018, is the only one.
Bad Omens has evolved from plucky tour openers to one of the most talked-about bands in metal over the years. Riquier’s departure from the band was welcomed with respect and understanding by all members of the band.

One of the most touching parts of this performance for me was how Noah sung every line except “don’t you dare say I’m gonna make it ” and “there’s a sickness living inside me” to which he left for Keaton’s original vocals. Being there right up front.. they came out and my soul shattered. I can’t even describe it. I knew they’d been performing it during this tour and was so excited to hear it, but when the band came out, I lost it. Literal historic moment to me and I’ll never forget being there and then getting to watch this and relive it over and over again.

Too Close To Touch is a band that I would go to during hard times, from the weight of the world being a little too much to handle, to when I lost my grandpa nearly 9 years ago, when I would feel too overwhelmed, and earlier this year when I had lost my dog, who is more than just my best friend. TCTT helped me through so many things in my life that I could never put into words on how much they have helped me. Losing Keaton hurt so much and I haven’t had the heart to listen to TCTT or watch his streams. I thought the world had forgotten about him but this performance brought me to tears listening to TCTT again. Thank you so much for bringing Too Close To Touch and Keaton back to life, it truly means the world to hear his voice one last time.
I recently got into bad omens songs about a year ago and shortly after I came across too close to touch. The “Haven’t Been Myself” album has healed me in so many ways than I can even put out there. I love so many of their songs and the more I discover too close to touch the more I understand why Keaton Pierce was so loved. And the fact that the rest of the band was invited to be a part of this specific performance makes it even more incredible. I’m a 59 year old retired Rock singer who just discovered Bad Omens a week ago by chance when I heard ‘The Death Of Peace Of Mind’ on terrestrial radio which I rarely listen to. thank you for doing this for Keaton. he was definitely there that night. i met Keaton and the rest of Too Close To Touch at 2016 Warped Tour. they were handing out “Nerve Endings” to anyone that passed them. didn’t once ask for money, nothing. they were just standing there greeting fans and interacting with all of us. i was hooked ever since. Keaton will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I’ve watched this article for about hundred times since noticed it at first and even on 101 time i’m so so so proud of bad omens and especially noah. he’s such a great friend. I have watched this entirely too many times and I cry like a baby every single time. Noah is amazing and the way you can tell he cared he for Keaton is so touching. Such a great way to pay tribute to a friend. It just makes me love Noah and Bad Omens so much more. They have definitely become my favorite band over the years. When I saw you perform this in Toronto, I was just crying in the crowd. I hope wherever Keaton is, he knows how much he was loved. I had the pleasure of meeting him once and giving him a hug and telling him how much his music meant to me and I was so embarrassed about how excited I was but Keaton was the sweetest person about it. As a fan of both Bad Omens & Too Close To Touch, this was such an incredibly special and touching tribute. I watched in awe and with pride in how Bad Omens honoured Keaton with the first few performances and then when I found out that TCTT were able to perform the song as a whole band, alongside Noah…. I was a weeping mess. I never had the privilege to see TCTT perform live with Keaton and that’s something I’ll always regret. I was devastated as a fan to learn of his passing earlier this year. Their album “Haven’t Been Myself” has always held a special place in my heart, alongside with Bad Omens self titled album (as I discovered you both around the same time and that was a really strange and turbulent time in my life!) I could write for hours about how meaningful this performance is to me personally but I’ll be going around in circles. I’m glad he acknowledges how Keaton inspired him down to the way he sings because you really do get that. It’s easy to compare metalcore bands—any band, to another…any comparisons would make sense because metalcore is that one dimensional & more or less all sounds the same. But if you read Keaton’s lyrics and compare it to his execution, it’s a wonder where his melodies come from & amazing he can draw such a melodic, soulful execution…his melodic intonations particularly unique & very much entirely all his own even if it’s in a familiar metalcore style.
