How Do Satanic Rituals Appear?

The Satanic Temple is a US-based religion that uses Satan as a metaphor for challenging authority and embracing science. It holds an annual convention and performs Satanic imagery and beliefs. Satanism is a term for various religious, ideological, and philosophical beliefs based on Satan, a fallen angel or a symbol of rebellion. Theistic Satanism worships Satan as a devil.

The hysterical fear of satanic rituals has a long and strange history stretching back almost a millennium. The book outlines nine rituals and ceremonies intended for group performance, with an introductory essay to each. Some of the rites presented are inspired by “unbaptism”, in which participants symbolically reject religious rites performed when they were children.

The Satanism scare of the late 1980s and early 1990s did not involve an empirically existing new religion, but it shared many themes with the cult. Some of the patients in treatment for multiple personality disorder (MPD) have recovered early childhood traumatic memories of ritual torture.

The Satanic Temple is a non-theistic organization and new religious movement founded in 2013 and headquartered in Salem, Massachusetts. It uses Satanic imagery and beliefs to challenge authority and embrace science. The Satanic Temple’s annual convention features a variety of rites and ceremonies, including an impromptu ritual in a lava tube under Mt. St. Helens.

  • An ethical universe must be set up so that at some endpoint every being wins and every being wins equally regardless of religious persuasion. Excluding anyone, whether Satanist, Pagan, or Wicca is elitist. Ethical values are built into the universe independently of our perception of them, and they include the dictum that every being is equally deserving. A loving God does not play favourites.

  • Wow… Not more than fifteen minutes ago did I post a comment about a dictionary and its definition of “satanism” being totally, laughably inaccurate, and it’s gone already. So look up “satanism” in the most well-known dictionary, and compare it to the real definition. It actually calls it “wicked” and “evil”. I’m not a Satanist, but it’s just too wrong to post defamatory definitions like that on a site/book that people go to get facts.
