In Elden Ring, Glintstone Staves are used to cast Sorceries and Incantations. To use these magic spells, you need to equip a Glintstone Staff or a Sacred Seal. Most staves don’t come with any skills, but they can be infused with a single Ash of War.
To add a spell to your staff, select the desired spell and equip it to your staff. The spell will automatically fill the first available slot. Having the staff in your left hand allows you to buff your weapon with the same strength as your right hand.
In Elden Ring, there are two flavors of magic: Sorceries and Incantations. Between these two, there are several subcategories, from pyromancies and dragon magic on the Incantaion side to Glintstone and Sacred Seals.
To find a Glintstone Staff weapon, go to Starting Equipment for the Prisoner Class. You will need a catalyst and an equipped spell to use incantations and sorceries. A catalyst is an armament that you will use to cast spells and incantations. For sorceries, you’ll need to equip a staff.
To equip spells, rest at a Site of Grace and select the Memorize Spell option to open up the spell selection screen. You can equip as many spells as you can fit into your spell slots, and you can equip both sorceries and incantations at the same time.
To cast spells, first rest at any site of grace and select ‘Memorize spell’ in the list of options. Once memorized, you will only be able to cast these spells by equipping the necessary catalyst in your left hand.
