How To Compute An Astrological Chiron?

The Chiron Sign Calculator is a tool that helps individuals discover their deepest wounds and healing powers within their astrological makeup. By entering your birth date, time, and location, you can uncover the Chiron sign that highlights your most profound vulnerabilities. This calculator is available for those who don’t have their natal chart or have trouble reading it.

To calculate your Chiron sign, you need to know your birth time and place of birth. A birth chart calculator can help you find your Chiron sign by analyzing the zodiac constellation the planet was under at the time of your birth. The glyph for Chiron resembles a key and is composed of an “O” and a “K”, representing “Object”. In astrology, Chiron represents healing, deep wounds, and personal growth, symbolizing the journey to overcome and learn from life’s challenges.

Cafe Astrology offers Chiron sign tables to help users find out their Chiron sign and current sign. The Chiron calculator provides a detailed report, identifying your Chiron placement and offering insights into your greatest wounds and healing potential. Unlike your Sun sign, which is determined simply by your birth date, calculating your Chiron sign requires your time of birth, birth date, and place of birth.

In astrology, Chiron represents “the wounded healer” and can explain how you heal from trauma and pain. To determine both the sign and house placement of Chiron, use a birth chart generating program like this.

Discovered in 1977 by Charles Kowal, it was the first-identified member of a new class of objects known as centaurs. Named after the centaur Chiron in Greek mythology, it was initially classified as an asteroid and classified as a minor planet. In 1989, it was found to exhibit behavior typical of a comet.

Today, it is classified as both a minor planet and a comet, known by the cometary designation 95P/Chiron. Recent occultation events have revealed that Chiron hosts rings, making it one of four minor planets and the only known comet to host a ring system.

Chiron was discovered near aphelion in 1977 and was given the temporary designation of 1977 UB. It was later found on several precovery images dating back to 1895, allowing its orbit to be accurately determined. It was not discovered at perihelion in 1945 due to few searches being made at that time and the lack of fainter searches in the 1930s and 1940s.

The symbol for the centaur Chiron, ⚷, is a combination of a key and monogram of the letters O and K, inspired by the name of the object, ‘Object Kowal’. This symbol was proposed by astrologer Al Morrison, who shared the idea with others. Another symbol popularized in Paul Clancy’s astrological publications is based on Pluto’s bident, which is described by Dane Rudhyar as suggesting the planetary character of the Pluto mind by the circle floating above the open cup.

Does Chiron matter in astrology?

Chiron, an asteroid discovered in 1977, is now classified as a centaur, a group of comet-like objects orbiting between Jupiter and Neptune. It has gained significant attention in the astrological world due to its profound insights on mental health and trauma. Chiron’s mythological background reveals that he was an immortal centaur, half horse and half man, who was a master of healing arts. After suffering a severe injury, he retreated into a cave to heal himself. Zeus, the god king, granted him the ability to die, placing his soul in the constellation Centaurus.

Chiron’s story is not one of hubris or human folly, but rather a wise teacher who did not let his injuries make him hard. He taught legendary heroes like Jason, Achilles, and Hercules, but he was repeatedly wounded by circumstances, reflecting a key characteristic of astrological Chiron, which represents hurts done to us, usually in childhood.

  • Ha! Steve, the horse theory for the ascendant/1st house chirons is spot on! I have always had an affinity with horses, especially wild ones. I started horseback riding when I was about 10 years old- but quit after the first day because I really did not appreciate how it takes 55.3 hours to “saddle up” and I refused to put the metal “bit” in my horses mouth( can you imagine how painful that is?) Also, one year my sister bought me Mane n’ Tail (horse shampoo) for my Birthday. It smelled off kilter though, so I returned it, but apparently some people swear by it. Take care Steve!

  • OMG! ~ This is so funny! … lol 😉 I have my Chiron (Rx) 22’10deg on the MC 19’45 PIS while my Asc is at 18’00 deg. Cancer! … When I was a young girl I always accompanied one of my class mates to her horse-back-riding lessons and I was happy to get on a horse at times too, or to just watch them, pet them, and so forth. There was no money for me to take those lessons too, but I loved being there in their company, so I went. Ironically by the measures of the Chinese Horoscope I’m a Fire-Horse as well! 🙂

  • I hope you are over the worst part of the dental procedure and that today will be easy and all will go well. Or if it is difficult, it will soon be worth all the discomfort. I believe that by getting dental implants you are protecting the bone structure of your jaw. If teeth are merely pulled and nothing replaces them, fairly quickly the bone erodes away. So although it has been taxing, if all goes well, you have been very fortunate to be able to get implants.

  • I love horses. Born in a fire horse year. Then.. centaurs and Chiron Sagittarius. Jupiter in cancer. Native horse art. Celtic braiding of horse hair. Klaus hempfling is a great author of horses and body language. Healing. I wear the triple spiral horse epona amulet. Many stories and myths about horses.

  • Lol my soon to be husband’s last name is Red Horse (he is a Lakota Indigenous man) and his Sun is conjunct Chiron by 5 degrees and exact conjunct Jupiter. I have Chiron and Pholus in the first house and I am a 1 degree Saggittarius Sun. His NN is conjunct my Vertex, his Venus is 1 degree conjunct asteroid Athene. My soon to be wife’s (his first wife) Chiron is 5 degrees conjunct my asteroid Athene and her moon is conjunct my Venus by 2 degrees, her NN conjunct my Saturn. Yes we are not a common couple in this era, but my NN conjunct both of their Pluto’s may argue otherwise a transformational revolution of past lives, my Sun is 3 conjunct Pluto/Juno.

  • Chiron in pisces conj. sun. Trine cancer 12th house north node and Venus in Taurus 10 th Had a fear of horses til I went to work with kids in a drug rehab facility that used horses as therapy. The horses that had been abused would come to me and Noone else when I sang to them. Then as I opened up realized I had the same emotional issues as the horses . I was an abused child also. The kids and I were healed, but I’d been so afraid of them til I turned 40. Good luck with your teeth.

  • I have found that my spirit animal, the one I share my vibration with, the one I share the same purpose with, is the Centaur. My personal qualities are so much like Chiron in particular. I am so sad that I neither have access to the 25 dollar that is needed, nor that I am available at the time you will be live… I have my Yoga Nidra teacher training that weekend, and I really wouldn’t want to miss the teacher training nor this Chiron course… Is there another way to join, or gain the knowledge and wisdom you will be sharing?

  • I just recently addressed Chiron in my natal chart. Turns out I have Chiron in Aquarius in the 4th house. This explains a lot about my wound: never having felt accepted or like I belong to either side of my family (my parents divorced when I was young) or any group. Heck, I’ve never thought I even belonged on earth. 🌎

  • Conjunct sun in 7th house, in the middle Of a stellium with Mars and Mercury. Lately I feel that relationships, generally, are hell; but I tend to have one that is pure love and healing, which evokes a tremendous amount of loyalty, and willingness to defend the beloved, within me. Stellium in Taurus, of course 😏
