The practice of meditation involves connecting the tips of your thumbs with the tips of your index fingers to form a classic mudra. Place a chakra crystal on one of your hands and place your hands on top of your knees. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax. The root chakra, located at the base of the body, is the first chakra.
Some meditation hand positions for chakra activation include Muladhara Mudra (Root Chakra Gesture), which provides grounding, stability, and vitality. Gyan mudra (AKA Chin mudra) is a gesture of wisdom, understanding, and focus. Focusing on the sensation in your hands during chakra meditation can improve focus and concentration, reduce stress and anxiety, and enhance energy flow.
There are various ways to open the hand chakras and restore energy flow, such as holding hands in water or using Reiki techniques. Mudras, ancient hand symbols or gestures, are used in many yogic and meditation practices. There is a specific mudra linked to each of the seven chakras.
To practice Dhyana Mudra, bring your hands in front of your lower abdomen, place your right hand on top of your left hand, bend your ring finger to touch the base of your thumb, press your thumb over your ring finger, and place your left hand on your forehead and right hand on the back of your head. Take a deep breath and say silently in your mind when you exhale: “I am safe”. Hold your hands in the specific mudra assigned to the chakra.
To close the meditation, lie down on your back or sit cross-legged with your back straight and your hands resting on your knees. Close your eyes and enjoy the benefits of meditation.
