In UnReal World (URW), players can acquire rituals for sacrifice by visiting a shaman in a village. These rituals come in two types: asking the spirits for help and sacrificing something to the spirits. Players can perform any ritual they like, starting with two.
In the current version, rituals can be acquired through quests in villages. General Sacrifice is a ritual used to thank guardians and sacrifice an item as a sign of gratitude. Tutorial missions are recommended for learning how to do things and providing basic items to get started.
New rituals can only be used after a sage teaches you, and new spells can only be used after starting a new character. Spells are both a way to communicate with otherworldly beings such as spirits and affect the mundane environment with magical means. The only way to learn new spells is to start a new character, which limits the use of spells in the game.
Players can choose whether to pick skills or attributes, such as fishing, survival, and bow. If their attributes are great, they can put points into Fishing, Survival, and Bow, while the rest can be put into whatever sounds good.
The starting scenario “I Want to be a Fisherman” can be used as a method of grinding ritual skill and balancing large numbers of sacrifices with butning fox summonings and hunting. UnReal World has been around for over 20 years, and players can find information on who is playing the game and how to get gud.

Hi, thank you for this tutorial, I’m still struggling to do anything in this game and it’s not exactly easy for me, as I’ve never played anything like this before. I am a history nerd who’s got ancestry from northern Sweden (southern Sápmi), so the game’s setting and the lore etc really piqued my interest when I heard about it.
arrows used to have a silly recipe. Branch, stone, some feathers, some cord and a knife. I don’t mind having to make the bowstrings, arrowheads and slats for the arrow blank but why tf do you need yarn specifically? Why isn’t cord okay? You can make yarn without trading it but nettle doesn’t become harvestable till the latter half of the summer.
I would love this series to continue, Just build more stuff a living house. Create more valuable trade goods, try to get a set of metal armor, Kill some of those pesky “evil” villages to get XP to your bow and fighting skills… There is still alot of stuff to do. But first of build a main house….
