A Magic Home LED controller is a cheap alternative to Philips Hue LED strips or smart bulbs. It enables wireless control over RGB LED lighting systems and connects to your home WiFi network. The integration allows local control over your LED lights/strips and can be configured to auto-scan your network for controllers or for you to manually configure individual lights by their IP address.

To use the Magic Home app to control LED strip lighting, follow these steps:

  1. Register/Login account.
  2. Add devices.
  3. Open phone Wi-Fi interface and connect to the “LEDnetxxxxx” signal.
  4. Connect to your home.
  5. Choose controller type.
  6. Connect lights.
  7. Connect to WiFi.
  8. Link controller to app.
  9. Configure settings.
  10. Open the Magic Home app.

If the Magic Home app cannot connect the LED strip controller to your Wi-Fi network, download the Magic Home Pro App, initiate the add device process, connect your phone to the Magic Home signal, and enter the “Add Device” option within the app.

How do you connect many LED lights together?

To connect multiple LEDs in series, use a constant voltage source and limit the current with a resistor. However, this solution is only partially solved due to the property of diodes that applies to LEDs as well. The forward voltage decreases with temperature increase, and a drop in forward voltage increases the forward current, heating the LED more. The exponential curve between forward voltage and forward current also needs to be considered, as small changes in forward voltage can lead to LED failure due to thermal runaway.

To solve this problem, use a constant current source and integrate circuits designed for driving LEDs with a constant current. While it may seem that if one LED fails, the entire string will be inactive, LEDs have become so reliable that if the circuit is properly designed, there is very little chance of an LED failing over the quoted lifespan.

  • Not sure if there is a worse piece of software out there but if there is I would be surprised. Seriously, you want me to lower the network speed for all of my devices in my router just to connect your lighting system? WTF? And even then, none of this is working, nothing will connect. Calling this software a piece of poop is giving poop a bad name.

  • Hey, so I’ve reset my device, restarted the app, and tried this over 5 times, and it keeps bringing me to the “turn off mobile data” which I’ve done. Is there a chance that my led controller is just outdated and doesn’t work with the new app? It used to work perfectly with the magic home app, and now it won’t work with the new magic home pro version. (the controller is nearly 5yrs old) Any thoughts are appreciated!
