Both UPSIDE DOWN and PATEMA INVERTED is a great movie, both shared the same director. Everyone stares each other by looking up at the sky in UPSIDE DOWN, but in PATEMA INVERTED they looking down to greet each other. What a brilliant concept! except in PATEMA people affraid of falling down to the otherworld sky rather than try to go to the otherworld sky in UPSIDE DOWN.
For all my fellow weebs saying this is a Patema Inverted rip off, it is not. This movie was released 2012. The anime film released in 2013 as a 4 part series and in 2014 as a full movie. If any copying was done, Upside Down can rightfully claim to be the original. Let us praise anime all we want but please don’t put other genres down and appreciate them as well. Its embarrassing.
I’m actually really surprised with how bob was and he still treated Adam like a true real friend and they were different as in for gravities and lives differently and he got fired but yet still was ok with it and wanted to still help him Oh wow didn’t think this comment would have this much I thought one person would see but ty and also he only worked at the other gravity side for not that long and he grew that friendship quite quick id say
I was always amazed this movie didn’t get more attention. Yeah, it’s cheesy, but there are moments that are unforgettable. I’ve shown people the “falling between worlds” scene many times. it’s jaw dropping. If nothing else, that whole segment deserved some recognition. It’s also unjustified to criticize it for its scientific inaccuracies. Right at the beginning they back out and describe a reality with different physics as a given. In fact it covers its bases on that account far better than nearly all movies in the sci fi genre that we consume unquestioningly. Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar being the WORST example. THAT one stars out screaming at you that it’s hard SF, and invoking NASA, and by the end it’s got the physics of a bad Stargate episode. He actually misinformed millions of people about what black holes are while pretending expertise. Any time Nolan touches sci fi concepts he fails pretty badly, and very few people call him on it.
At last someone recapped this, I actually didn’t finished this and never got to know the title since I was perusal this on a bus, the law of things burning when one matter from another planet to the other is absurd, we actually see some Moon and Martian rocks here on Earth and doesn’t burn even a close planet would definitely smash to each other because of the gravity. Can’t blame it’s a science fiction, now I want to watch the movie again to finish it 🙂
Writer: “Man, I have this awesome idea where kids can play basketball with other kids on the ceiling.” Studio: “That sounds crazy, but how are you gonna explain it and what’s the title?” Writer: “Wellll…. SPACE JAM!!” (Movie Sta-…) Studio: “Hol’ up… That’s already taken!” Writer: “Wellll…. UPSIDE-DOWN!” (Movie Starts)
this movie takes the fantasy of 2 world representing the poor and the rich to the next level, combine with incredible actors who fulfill they role extremely detail on characters’s emotion, thoughts and narration. this movie is one of a few masterpiece movies that bring me on a rollercoaster of mix feeling and mind bogging twist, execute them perfectly. this movie is beautifully underated.
This movie is actually pretty interesting if you ignore physics for a while. The visuals of this movie is great and excellent! The love story is pretty great. Even our great Einstein or Isaacs would approve and appreciate this movie becaused of the quality (becaused in their time there is no kind of this film) and they probably understand that this movie is not documentary about physics but a movie fantasy about our imaginations!
The idea that two planets could exist so close to each other with a physical gravitational dividing line is physically and scientifically impossible. If this was real life, the two planets would have collided due to the gravitational forces between them. This would also disrupt the orbital patters of the planets.
OMG what an amazing movie. I had a dream a long time ago where a planet was silently moving past the Earth just like in this film. We were sitting on a ridge at Mount Shasta at night next to some other people. We were all there to encounter this new planet or ship. We could see the same type of residential homes and gardens lit up by the sun as we have on Earth and at the same time down on Earth it was night time and dark.
i love this movie, instead of the generic “they treat us like poor animals so we’re gonna overthrow them and treat them like that creating a cycle of hate” it actually looks into the story of the hardships and wrongdoings suffered to enact a few instances of equality, it relates alot to our own world with slavery, female voting and alot more (i wish not to offend as i dont have a broad knowledge on slavery and it was horrendous, but the pain and deaths endured led to evolutions, slavery to my knowledge wasnt ended because they fought back, but because knowledge was shared and religion started dying off)
How can they use the oil? If they’re just getting crude oils from drill sites then where do they refine it? It would all catch fire, or machinery processing it would. Why not just create thermoreactors that just has dirt and inverse dirt burn? How do people eat food from the other side? Wouldn’t it come back up, or burn the person from the inside? Anything absorbed from it would boil the blood it’s carried in.
So the MC made a breakthrough allowing down below to walk up top and then his best friend(Bob) made a another breakthrough to allow up top people to walk down below. So he made a breakthrough with his friend(MC) breakthrough and help both worlds while also making billions probably. this was a Really cool story love story was meh but The Who idea was amazing and unique.
Well if that’s the case, since we’re getting a prequel and if its successful, we’ll get mini series follow the further experience from the film. Hopefully in the series Mirabel, Luisa and Isabelle make this journey in finding the men and leader who dissed there grandfather like the “wonderful” piece of Xbox 360 history Bulletstorm. Who also wants Alfred Molano as the leader since he played another South America film as a river pirate featuring a particular football headed boy.
