I was brought up in a very Pentecostal Hispanic household and Pokémon was completely out of the question, like many other things like Harry Potter, goosebumps, smurfs, ect. I cannot be happy enough for my parents showing me the way to holiness. I understand what you said about quitting wether you feel that conviction or not, but I have noticed that as I walk closer in step with the Holy Spirit, he asks me to give up worldly passions and desires. I have heard the voice of the Holy Spirit actually say to me years a ago to get rid of my article games and to stop playing Hearthtsone. These games all have roots in satanism, neocramancy, paganism, occultism, ect. They all have some connection with real live demonic battles that witches and wizards have with each other. They fight using demons that they allow in their bodies to literally kill soemone else that also has demons. They do this until one person is left alive. Then they acquire the demons of the dead person so they are more powerful. This sounds quite a lot like what happens in Pokémon, hearthstone, magic the gathering, and many other RPG games. I’m so happy that the Holy Spirit has given me the gift of knowledge beyond what most people can ever have. Some Christians have even been angry at me and disagreeing with me about my personal testimonies and my walk with God as I tell them about avoiding these games and every temptation the media has to offfer. You see, I have been through way too much suffering and I am just way too thankful for Jesus Christ saving me to allow a simple demonic game to destroy my relationship with Him.
There are things you do in article games that you don’t do in real life and vice versa. I’m a Christian and I play pokemon and occasionally pathfinder (it’s basically dungeons and dragons) We play games, we shouldn’t live them. If you have trouble recognizing the difference between the two, stay away from them. Otherwise, just play them, don’t live them.
I watched Pokemon as a kid and liked it a lot. Along the years, I started collecting Pokemon cards and playing some of the Pokemon games. I liked Pokemon until…a few people & a few family members mentioned that Pokemon was EVIL. I can’t even play or enjoy Pokemon around them to be honest. I know Pokemon is just for fun and its fantasy but they don’t seem to understand. Since I was a kid, I knew that Pokemon isn’t real. Some Pokemon are creepy, but I just catch and keep the cute ones. I’ve heard a lot Christians talk about how bad pokemon is but none of them can seem to give any real provable examples of it causing harm. I struggled with whether or not Pokemon was demonic for many years. I grew up with it, and always loved it growing up, and even got back into it as an adult. Like with most, no one who told me it was demonic could ever give me a good reason as to WHY and HOW. However, I’ve come to realize that it is in fact demonic. The roots and symbolism found in Pokemon are in fact occultic, and what sealed the deal for me was coming to the understanding that a lot of the Pokemon creatures are based on Japanese Yokai, which are supernatural entities in Japanese folklore, as well as Egyptian deities, and deities from many other religions, etc.. I think that should say enough, but to drive my point further, I’ve seen countless testimonies of people who came out of other religions that worshiped these deities and are now born again believers in Christ. Most of them will tell you how demons manifested to them, and the cause was their involvement of these deities that were actually demons in disguise. With that said, to own anything physically or even digitally Pokemon related will most likely come with a demon because of the spirits inspired behind the Pokemon, thereby being an accursed item, which the Bible warns about. Scripture also warns us against our association with spirits, witchcraft, and necromancy. Pokemon is heavily involved in all of this. And to those saying, “Oh, I’ve never seen a demon manifest or harass me since I started playing Pokemon, so therefore this guy just doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Eh personally I used to like Pokemon but then I felt weird playing it and the game sounds like familiar spirits so I got scared. I only like the pokemon that aren’t demonic and look normal. EDIT: The more I thought about it, they seemed more like earthly creatures and not spiritual ones, but I’ve been messed up by legalism concerning pokemon. It makes me feel insane.

I think most articlegames are fine. As long as your not doing anything that goes against god then it is ok to have fun. I like to view pokemon as an over exaggeration of life,yes, there are demons and evil things, but most aren’t. There are demons and evil in our life aswell. Whenever i play a pokemon game I love to avoid using any sort of demonic pokemon and just treat it as going on an adventure with animals. I check wether a pokemon is meant to be a demon or not before using them and most aren’t. Pokemon can be a fun adventure, just don’t give into the temptation of demons, dont get addicted, and remember its fiction, not fact.

Idk how I feel but I like Pokémon my mom says if you knew what I knew about it you wouldn’t like it but she doesn’t tell me (I think she gets confused and thinks all anime are Pokémon too because one time I was perusal into the spiderverse when then anime art styled character came up she was like “what Pokémon?” Me and my brother laughed at that though because we know what anime is also I feel like it’s fine but my mom doesn’t I don’t want to disobey but she isn’t telling me what’s so bad and we watch marvel movies which in one of the newest movies (minor spoiler) the main villain says “There is no god so I stepped in” but she pointed that out and I also (yet I can still watch marvel movies and we still have a Disney+ subscription too) was like in my head “huh why was that there” (also the people who worked for him starting aiming guns at him too which I liked that they did that I’m just looking for what she says she knows but I don’t but I’m the one who plays the games and has a one of the books with all the Pokémon and none of the things have a connection to satan besides magic but I think it’s just unexplained so it’s just called magic so if anyone can help please with this please do
you are the first person to quote the bible when I saw this…i might quit cause its time consuming…but i saw other articles with mtg and they showed cards with no explanation. They wanted me to jump to conclusion and this is the first i am hearing all this. A lot of the so called explanations felt stretched. Like in MTG there are Angels etc. So i dunno.

There are things we can get into and can’t get into, and some things we don’t mess with. Here’s a few examples:I’m into DOOM and Harry Potter. DOOM does help me with my faith but Harry Potter books and movies I take as simply fiction and entertainment. Hey everyone! I’m a kid and I’m not allowed to play Pokémon. My parents always told me it was bad and I agree with that fully. Even if I had the choice to play or not I would never play it ever! Because I’m pretty sure as Christian we are supposed to stay away from all evil. The game literally has witchcraft in it and Christian parents are letting their kids play this? And doesn’t 1 Thessalonians 5:22-24 say to stay away from the appearance of evil? Well yes it does. We ALL fall short of the glory of God because we are sinners deserving of eternal punishment in hell because sin is so serious (it’s the cause of all pain, death, and suffering). And that’s why Jesus willingly died on the cross for all our sins and rose from the dead three days later! Hello Brother, this is where I would have to respectfully disagree. I know Pokémon is nostalgic and brings us all back to our childhoods. But if you are enjoying something in the flesh; the flesh is not going to condemn itself. Pokémon translates to “Pocket Monster” and obviously monster can stand for demon or evil spirit. I just don’t want my brother in Christ to loose sight in what’s important in life and that Jesus Christ.
This dude literally has a cult symbolism in his article in his home that cat represents Egyptian goddesses they used to worship cats and look at the photo behind it with the skull of that animal which is typically seen as an occult symbol I wouldn’t be taking advice of if Christians should watch Pokemon or play Pokemon or not from this guy.

I played it for 2 years die hard. The game pogo. I wanted to be the very best… and I got a lot of issues with other players. I normally have no issues with people. It was a first sign. Later on I met a guy played with him a lot and he begun stalking me for a year! Also in the game. I got ptss by his stalking. People fellow Christians warned me but I did not see the harm. Ok there is a magic component and a dark side but I looked at the normal things. But really I watched the film’s the cartoons and there are some weird occultism in the film’s. Still it did not stop me from playing but the shit I got and that God was not with me anymore made me believe after 2 years that pokemon is not a harmful game. It is occult. And thereby all the time I gave on pokemon I lost precious time to do things which matter… being with family and give time to God. Seriously I ran out of church to be on time for comdays! And was more in my head there than God’s word. It has given me loads of shit. What is by experience not blessed is my conclusion it’s not what God wants. This is my opinion. Time. God’s wants it all and didn’t want me to play every day a stupid game. And yes I loved it I had to stop because of the stalking and other things. God let me see it is not a game to play for a Christian. Fun fact I met no fellow Christians in those two years.
