Is It Unconventional To Hold Chakra Beliefs?

Chakras, or the body’s energy points, are often discussed in New Age discourse and may not be entirely a religious concept. However, some Christians argue that their belief in chakras does not necessarily conflict with the Bible, as they represent aspects of human consciousness created by God. In Eastern belief, chakras are like the body’s power stations, connecting to Kundalini energy.

The Bible does not mention the seven chakras found in Eastern religion, but each is governed by spiritual laws and principles of consciousness that can be used to cultivate greater harmony, happiness, and wellbeing. The number of chakras worked with depends on the practices of the school, which may focus on deities or other practices.

Chakras are part of the Indian tradition and not the Jewish or Christian tradition. While there is no direct mention of the chakras in the Bible, it is important to note that electricity, yoga postures, breathing practices, and meditation are ways of unblocking your chakras. Chakras have roots in Hinduism, the world’s oldest religion, and while they are not mentioned specifically in the Bible, it is possible that just as God created our bodies with pathways for energy, the seven main chakras should remain open, aligned, and fluid.

In the Orthodox Church, the soul and body are meant to be healed, while Buddhism teaches that nothing has intrinsic value. Understanding the truth about chakras and Christianity from a biblical perspective can help individuals navigate the complex relationship between energy, religion, and spirituality.

What religion has a chakra symbol?

The wheel of dharma is a symbol in Buddhist, Jain, and Hindu traditions, representing morals and codes of conduct. In Buddhism, it represents Gautama Budhha’s wheel, with eight spokes representing wisdom, truth, cosmic law, and Buddha’s teachings. The Sanskrit and Pali terms for the wheel of dharma are dharmachakra and dhammacakka.

What religions forbid astrology?

Early Christians and early Jews were strongly opposed to astrology, with some even attributing it to demonic origin. The Church Fathers imposed strong sanctions against astrology to protect their flocks, with mathematician Aquila Ponticus excommunicated from the Church in Rome for astrological heresies in A. D. 120. St. Augustine believed that the determinism of astrology conflicted with Christian doctrines of man’s free will and responsibility, and that God was not the cause of evil. He also grounded his opposition philosophically, citing the failure of astrology to explain twins who behave differently despite being conceived at the same time.

The first astrological book published in Europe was the Liber Planetis et Mundi Climatibus, published between 1010 and 1027 AD. Ptolemy’s second century AD Tetrabiblos was translated into Latin by Plato of Tivoli in 1138. Dominican theologian Thomas Aquinas proposed that the stars ruled the imperfect’sublunary’ body while attempting to reconcile astrology with Christianity by stating that God ruled the soul.

The thirteenth century mathematician Campanus of Novara devised a system of astrological houses, while astronomer Guido Bonatti wrote the Liber Astronomicus, which King Henry VII of England owned at the end of the fifteenth century.

Is astrology ok in Christianity?

In Matthew 28:18, Jesus asserts that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him. This contradicts biblical wisdom, as chasing after false gods is a sin. There is no biblical evidence that God has given authority to stars or astrologists. Pursuing predictions about our destiny or personality is biblically sinful, as it takes power from God and gives it to something other than God. A horoscope cannot change what God has already ordained before we were even created.

Is meditation against any religion?

Meditation is practiced by all religions, with each religion having its unique orientation and focusing on specific practices, subjects, and goals. The five major religions – Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam – all practice meditation. It plays a significant role in all aspects of Indian spiritual life, depending on the individual practitioner’s chosen path and stage of life. Meditation’s importance varies depending on the individual practitioner’s chosen path and stage of life.

What does the Bible say about yoga?

What does the Bible say about yoga?

The text emphasizes the importance of equipping children to distinguish between issues that the Bible clearly addresses and those over which Christians have some disagreement with how to apply biblical principles. It highlights that there is nothing in the Bible that explicitly states that thou shall not do yoga, but rather that these are things that are taught in scripture that we should believe and follow.

The Bible is clear on the deity of Jesus, his attributes, and salvation through Jesus alone. It also outlines certain commands for sexuality, such as being chased by unmarried individuals and being faithful to their spouses. It also teaches us to speak the truth, put away falsehood, and be kind and compassionate to one another.

When considering various choices as Christians, such as media consumption, career paths, and practices like yoga and meditation, it is crucial to teach our kids to understand the difference between these two things. If someone denies the deity of Christ, they are not a Christian because they are not following Christ. This is because the teachings of Christ are clearly outlined in scripture, and Jesus is God.

In conclusion, it is essential to teach our children to distinguish between issues that the Bible directly addresses and those that Christians disagree on. By doing so, they will be better equipped to navigate the world and make informed decisions about their beliefs and practices.

Is chakra meditation against Christianity?

The concept of chakras, which are believed to be spinning vortexes or wheels of energy, is often regarded as pagan by Christians, who view them as a form of “Eastern” mysticism. Nevertheless, the New Age chakra movement eschews Christianity as an oppressive belief system. In ancient Indian spiritual traditions, chakras are described as spinning vortices located at various points in the body. In the early stages of yogic practice, practitioners identified seven key nodes that could be used to regulate pranic flow.

Which religion believes in chakras?

Chakras, believed to have originated in India around 1, 000 years ago, are mentioned in ancient Hindu and Buddhist spiritual texts like the Vedas and Yoga Upanishads. These beliefs were later integrated into various systems of healing and spirituality, such as Ayurveda, yoga, Hinduism, and Buddhism. These systems focus on the flow of life energy through our bodies and the universe, and the use of chakras is believed to help connect with this energy.

Yoga uses breath and movement to bring energy into the body, while Ayurveda uses herbal medicine and meditation to open and balance chakras. Chakras gained popularity in the West in the 1960s-1970s as part of alternative spiritual movements, including psychology, complementary medicine, and spiritual practices.

Can Christians do meditation?

Can Christians do meditation?

Meditation is a crucial spiritual discipline for Christians, as it helps shape their thoughts, character, and actions. In the Old Testament, Psalm 145, a poem about God’s character and works, encourages meditation on God’s attributes and actions. This practice shapes a person’s thoughts, character, and actions. Psalm 1 and Psalm 119 also call for meditation on Scripture. Psalm 1 explains that regular meditation on the Bible will nourish the soul and help resist sin, indicating human flourishing.

In the New Testament, passages like Philippians 4:4-9, Colossians 3:1-3, Romans 8:5-7, Hebrews 3:1, and Hebrews 12:2 encourage Christians to focus their minds on God and his plans, aligning their thoughts, emotions, and actions with God’s purposes. These passages also encourage believers to focus on Jesus, filling them with hope and enabling them to emulate him. The writers of these New Testament passages emphasize that a person’s thoughts determine their future, making meditation a critical spiritual discipline for followers of Jesus.

Can Christians do energy work?

Christians can express gratitude for God’s providential care in energy healing, as seen in mainstream medicine, prayer, and healing miracles. They have a strong theological foundation, not pragmatism, and have a brief glimpse of God’s general presence and revelation. However, many non-Christian energy healers refer to the source as an impersonal force or the universal life force.

The issue lies in the healer’s failure to give glory to God for the healing. They develop a “reality construct” or metaphysic to explain the phenomenon, leading to spiritual darkness and a new age spirituality. The root cause of spiritual deception lies with the sinful individual, and when God is not acknowledged, the truth is distorted by idolatry. Idolatry is a process that begins in the fallen human mind, suppressing and repressing God’s knowledge for idols. Christians must not forget that the warning about idolatry applies to believers, as they can easily slip into a nonacknowledgement of God’s work and replace it with idolatry.

Apologists are right to alert us to the faulty metaphysics found in new age healing, and Biblical discernment of correct teaching is essential. However, Christians should not just identify false teachings but also take the positive initiative to offer Christ as the completion of what is dimly grasped by non-Christians.

Are Christians OK with meditation?

Meditation is not a sin, but rather a way to draw closer to God. It is encouraged throughout Scripture and is not forbidden or discouraged. God will never turn away a wholeheartedly seeking after Him. Spending time daily in prayer and pondering God’s Word helps draw closer to Him, not away from it. Jesus had issues with those who relished the Law more than they worshiped God. Christian Meditation is a form of prayer that helps answer the question, “If I meditate am I sinning?” The Old Testament often translated “medicate” as “muse or ponder”, which helps answer the question of whether meditation is a sin. The psalms are the most prolific purveyors of the concept of meditation, with over 87 of the references to the word “meditate” in the English Standard Version found in them.

What does God say about chakras?

The Bible does not explicitly mention the chakras or energy, which may seem like a cause for concern. However, it is important to note that the Bible is not the only source of information about God’s creation. It also shares God’s promises in the world. The Bible was not intended to be an exhaustive text describing the intricacies of God’s creation. However, we can find concepts like the “breath of life” in Genesis 2:7, which refers to the vital life force or life-giving energy. This highlights the importance of considering the Bible as the Word of God and not as an exhaustive description of God’s creation.

  • Yes I did this exercise a few months back. I asked my future self what to do about my relationship. My future self was so wise she told me to not see my husband as obstacle and see him as my best friend that he truly wants the best for me and our family. He might not use the right wording sometime but that’s why we have each other because I sweeten him up and he makes me tougher. ❤️

  • So beautiful. I hear you on the voice sounding different. Over the last few years, I’ve been able to website the Divine Feminine. She’s SO funny and firm. When clients speak to Her they are just amazed. When I’m back out of my trance I feel like a potato by comparison, but it’s a blessing to have such a clear experience of what I can aspire towards. 🙂❤👑

Marie, the work of art on the wall behind you, I would say that it is a visual representation of your favorite expression “Everything is Figureoutable.” We start, and we find and figure out a way toward our goal! Best day to you!

  • Perfect Timing! I’m dealing with a situation of working on my goals of drum wellness group working with seniors and had to put a pause because lately had setbacks, from health (once going to hospital), and car repairs. I didn’t know if this was a sign to pause until end of August, or if it was a sign to facing challenges and push through them. I sat and meditated asking Universe to let me know what I should do….your article and another motivational person came up in my recommendations saying the same message. Take care of myself to be of good use to others. 😁

  • Wow. I’ve been trying to get clarity on the next step for my business because I’ve been feeling very frustrated with not seeing much results in 5 years of doing it. I did the writing exercise and my higher self told me that I’ll find clarity once I get my life together first. That my business is a mess because I’m a mess. That I need to detach from it. I care too much about it. That I need to first focus on my health because it’s deteriorating and focus on being a mom and making the house a home. That’s all I got. So then I wanted more and asked for more. Higher self told me that she isn’t giving me more until I work on my mindset for 2 weeks and take a camping vacation that I’ve been saying no to for awhile. That the answers will be waiting for me when I get back. 🤣

  • Marie Marie Marie!!! Had no idea this just dropped in the last day – was right on time!!! OMG 😱- the clarity, calm, and peace after meditating and journaling from the POV of my higher, wiser self. I gained clarity and insights that were FAR BEYOND anything my mind or heart had to say from my current vantage point. I was totally drained from all the internal confusion. I’m so glad I did this. I’m feeling energized again. 🤩 I can not thank you enough!!! Will definitely use again and will share these techniques!

  • – When we are in situations where we don’t know what to choose, we’re used to looking externally for answers (calling friends, hiring experts, reading books, perusal content) but we forget that we have an internal well of wisdom already available inside us – To find clarity from inside out: 1. Tap with your higher, wiser, future self • Close your eyes and put your hand on your heart • Ask yourself: What do you really know about this situation? What do I need to know and understand? What’s my next move? • Answers usually come in sensation (lightness/dread, fun and easy/difficult) • Yout voice when you tap into your higher self is not harsh and it is always kind 2. Guided Writing • Meditate for 20mins to let the chatter in your mind to slow down and access a different part of yourself • Tap into your higher self, ask the same questions above, and write all your answers. • Don’t judge your writing, just continue writing. • When you reach a stopping point but don’t feel satisfied with the answer yet, ask “what else do I need to know about…?”

  • The first one sounds really good and it makes a lot of sense but it can also lead us to bail anytime a situation gets hard, especially in committed situation. It seems more “follow your heart”, when sometimes the right thing to do is to do the hard thing, to do the work, to endure, to self sacrifice for the better good of your loved ones. Etc. For me, that hire wise yourself actually the Holy Spirit and it’s never going to tell me to abandon someone just because it’s inconvenient or dreadful for me. But if I don’t have that external guidance, then it’s easy to think I should just do what feels good and is the path of least resistance for me. I don’t think that’s the answer. I would really have to rely on the Holy Spirit and on the strength that Jesus gives me walking beside me to carry out the hard things, the uncomfortable things.

  • About method number two, of course something can write for you. After all, we are much more than the physical body and what we can seeing. The question is, what is writing for you? What is influencing you? The Bible says our hearts are deceitful above all else. Even when I spend time with God, I have to be careful I’m not deceiving myself and telling myself what I want to hear and labeling it God, or the Holy Spirit, or my higher self. I have to consider, who am I appealing to, truly? In whose interest?

  • I hope this doesn’t get deleted. Just my opinion. You don’t know your future self, you can just speculate. So the literal interpretation is not a possibility. So, essentially, the only thing I can think of is to Image ourselves without any emotional blocks, so we can tap into that wisdom, that is mentioned in the article. But why would you do that? To gain something? Trying to gain something is rooted in fear, which is exactly what prevents you from being unconditionally free, thereby accessing your whole knowledge. This will be deleted, I’m sure of it.
