Did Lauren Daigle have mono?
Lauren Daigle, born in Louisiana in 1991, was influenced by zydeco and blues music. After a severe mono case, she considered music professionally. She attended Louisiana State University and majored in Child and Family Studies. Daigle has released two major albums and won numerous awards, including two American Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, numerous GMA Awards, and several Grammy nominations.
However, she faced controversy when she performed on the Ellen Degeneres show, where some Christians felt she was endorsing homosexuality. Despite this, many Christians support her in a Christ-like manner, regardless of their support for homosexuality and gay marriage.
What religion is Lauren Daigle?
Daigle, a singer from Lafayette, Louisiana, was raised in a Christian family and a laid-back Cajun culture. She was surrounded by music made for dancing, and her grandfather encouraged her to learn the waltz. Hurricane Katrina hit when she was 14, and Daigle remembers the bonding that comes after a hurricane. Her parents made pots of gumbo and distributed them in Lafayette’s red-light district.
When she was 15, she contracted cytomegalovirus, which required her to complete her education at home. She began singing as a creative outlet and later became a religious calling. She competed in the audition rounds of American Idol and signed to the CCM label Centricity Music in 2013. Her debut album, How Can It Be, topped the Christian charts, and her 2018 album, Look Up Child, was a blockbuster hit, reaching No 3 on the mainstream US albums chart. Daigle’s family’s openness to loving people and her desire to break barriers have been a part of her life.
What is Lauren’s religion?
Lauren, a young girl from a gated community in Robledo, California, grows up in a world of poverty and exploitation. Her father, a Baptist pastor and college professor, holds the community together through religion, mutual aid, and resource-saving practices. However, Lauren is increasingly concerned about the deteriorating society and the potential for societal deterioration. She secretly prepares to travel north, seeking rare paid jobs.
The newly elected President Donner loosens labor protections, leading to a rise in company towns owned by foreign businesses. Lauren develops a new belief system, Earthseed, based on the belief that “God is Change” and humanity should “shape God” to aid themselves.
Lauren’s younger half-brother, Keith, rebels and runs away, eventually being found dead after torture. Her father disappears while leaving the community for work. When Lauren is eighteen in 2027, the community’s security is breached in an organized attack, resulting in the destruction, looting, and murder of most of the community. She travels north, disguised as a man, with Harry Balter and Zahra Moss, two survivors from her community.
The society outside the community walls has reverted to chaos due to resource scarcity and poverty. Travelers face constant threats from attacks for resources, pyromaniac drug-users, cannibals, and wild dogs. Interracial relationships are stigmatized, women fear sexual assault, and slavery returns in the form of indentured servitude.

I actually saw her in concert a couple months ago and heard an interview a while back that the Lord had been putting on her heart to go back to her roots of why she became a singer and that’s to sing for HIM and that is exactly what she’s trying to do again and has been for some time. On Kaleidoscope Jesus, some of her songs tell stories, some talk about Jesus. So my prayer is that people can stop judging the outwards and realize that we have all fallen off the track at some point and God always pulls us back when we are His ❤️ I went through a period in my life too when I was more concerned with pleasing others than him. I’m sure we’ve all been there And those words are used in the Bible as well. the enemy is the one that came and tried to mimic Jesus because he wants to be like him as scripture tells us. But because the true Christians have not been stepping up and showing who the real God is, in his beautiful manifested presence, the rest of the world is getting the deceptive view of it through New age and other religions but it’s not the true Spirit! The closer we get to God’s spirit the more we will see mysteries of him unfold. The word reset is not uncommon in the Christian churches. It’s good for us to get rid of our flesh and reset ourselves on the mind of Christ. Just because certain words are used in new age does not mean that they were originally not intended for God. Being in his presence alone strips all of the chaos and we do find that stillness with him again. It was obvious she was talking about God, especially since she mentioned Him in the beginning.
I used to work in clerical work in a hospital. One day a bunch of us girls went to have lunch together. A girl (I can’t even remember her name) had a newspaper and was reading horoscopes. When she got to me I told her I didn’t get involved with that stuff. She asked why and I told her the Bible is against it. She got furious! It was crazy. She told everyone that I was a “religious nut”. Well I should have known my answer would create a riff but I had to be truthful.
My husband and I went to one of her concerts, right when she was coming up in her career. Jesus was not mentioned at any time of her concert. I was very disappointed in her and since then, I don’t listen to her. I pray her eyes will be opened, she will repent and make amends to all who listen to her before it’s too late. I believe all of us really need to stay close to the Lord bc we can be led astray easily. We have to know God’s Word and all things are to be compared to it’s truth !!! Keep speaking truth Spencer, praying for God’s protection over you !!
Sad but true. I’m a worship leader at a church and my husband and I have decided to leave. Our original concerns was their light view of scripture in a sense that they could “stay in His presence” all service and be ok with not preaching a message. As more days pass and I am able to pray and study after the meeting we had with the pastors, I see the consequences of not regarding the word of God as the primary source of our growth in Christ. Without the word as our foundation, we gravitate to some really weird, heretical behavior. I love to praise and worship the Lord because HE IS FAITHFUL and I am grateful. But I only know what I know because of the precious word of God.
I agree. I go to a small church close to my town, (same parish) and my church is full of older pple who have been there since they were kids! Our pastor and his wife haven’t been there 10 yrs yet and are not as old as most of the members. His wife asked us the other day if we woukd mind if they would switch out some of the old hymns for more modern “christian” music and me and my husband and kids quickly all said No! Lol we love the old hymns even if we sing it off beat♡ a pot of pple don’t come to our church bc of the old music they say, but I say give me the authentic music and worship!! Thanks for all you do spencer!!
I came into the Kingdom during the Jesus movement. I am a musician and have been a worship leader for roughly 50 years. This stuff began to creep in way back in the beginning of the Jesus People. I do believe that musicians and singers are especially vulnerable to spiritual deception. And I totally agree that there needs to be accountability and a holding to Biblical standards. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not saying we should only sing old hymns but our music/worship should be Biblically based and those that lead it should be held to a moral, spiritual, Biblical standard.
With all that being said, we must pray for these preachers, musicians, etc.- that are lost and being lied to by the enemy. We are christians that need to be praying for the lost when we hear and see things like this. I pray that Lauren and anyone else that is blinded by veils of the enemy, that those veils be lifted off in Jesus’ name. Blessings to you all. Remember to be kind and gentle when talking to or about the unsaved…that’s in the Bible as well.
I love your ministry! I have been called an extremist and doomsdayer for preaching holiness and repentance and to discern the spirits and being careful what we listen to and what we watch etc. because it’s something “good” that will lead us always from Christ. Something that’s evil but masked with good!
Mark 3:35 For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” >> Fasting, Meditating on God, Praying, and lets not forget introducing thousands a month to Christ through her music (which cannot realistically be conceived of as being about anybody but Jesus Christ) makes Laruen the sister of anyone else doing the will of God.
1st Corinthians chapter 1:17,18, – 1st Corinthians chapter 2 : 2. The true and only object of faith, Jesus Christ and him crucified . Who he is ( God ) and what he has done ( Calvary ) – he has overcome the world, the flesh, the devil, death, Hell, and the grave. Basically everything we face in our Christian life . Praise God hallelujah !
If Christian musicians should be held to the same standards as pastors then so should Christian bankers, Christian librarians, Christian paper boys, Christian lawyers, Christian UPS drivers, Christian teachers, Christian ditch diggers, Christian carpenters, Christian authors, Christian doctors, Christian assembly line workers, Christian salesman, and Christian everything. Technically we should all hold the same standards but Christian musicians are not always teachers even if they do share their faith.
I don’t understand why people say she doesn’t use God and Jesus in her songs. Look at the lyrics, in mostly every article she references the Lord! Elevation worship, red rocks, Hillsong…are all amazing people and bring certain people closer to God, maybe not you. None of what she is saying is occult like, we can take anything out of context and make people think what we want. And quite frankly that’s what YouTubers and the government does.
Needs update…. She recently said that she used to worry about being inclusive and she realized that how can you talk about love without talking about the one who is love and also that worship precedes miracles. So these negative things should really be updated. She’s young, people change and update their opinions.
I present this with love for my Christian brothers and sisters. 1.Transcendent: beyond the material exsistance.(Any encounter we have with Jesus can move us beyond the physical limitations of this world. In fact, it should.) 2. Reset: to set again or anew.( We experience a reset in our relationship with God when we repent and turn from sin. We are “set rightly” again with the Father.) 3. Mystery: something not known.(The word “Mystery” appears 28 times in the bible. Salvation through the crucifixion is a mystery. The marriage union is a mystery) (Definitions taken from excerpts of Miriam-Webster) To say that someone is a practicing occultist based on the words they choose to use sounds “fear mongery” and maybe a little ignorant to me. Should we be discerning? Yes! Should musicians be held to the highest standards? Yes! Should we judge a person’s spiritual walk on the basis of using the word “mystery?” Not unless you plan on judging God for the same thing.
‘Do not judge by mere appearance, but judge RIGHTEOUSLY.’ That’s what the Word says. That being said, that song of her’s, ‘You Say’, definitely has the Holy Spirit. When I listen to that song, it always inspires me to begin praising and thanking the Lord. Cursed music doesn’t do that. Music from a cultists do not do that. I don’t know why she chose that wording, and I know the wording is often used by new agers, but I do believe that it would be dangerous for a Christian to judge her salvation based solely on wording. And if you don’t think she’s a believer, then you’re wrong to judge her that way as well because the word does tell us that we are not to judge the lost, because they are already under the Lord’s judgment. Do not be wise in your own eyes. The Holy Spirit is there for a reason. Not so we can dismiss or invalidate someone else’s salvation based on what we just see.
Staying within the context of her tweet this is a reach by the original poster. She stated she fasted, she never mentioned meditation. For those that do fast and focus on God and Jesus during that time many can experience what could be described as a re-set mentally spiritually and physically. I’ve done 3,7, and 21 day fast. When I was going through a spiritual and emotional crisis I finally understood one day no one can help me but God. I prayed fasted and received words clear as day from the Most High, when I hear from the Lord there’s no confusion in the message I understand it completely no second guessing and it’s up to me to listen or be stubborn. This is the power in fasting and praying, humbling ourselves and seeking the face of God. Some that fast will understand completely how this is like a reset in all phases of our being.
Question, the Bible does talk about the mysteries of God, the bible talks about the stillness of God. Tell me how is this demonic or any type of way unbiblical or undocturine when the Bible actually speaks of the mysteries God. The Bible says in Corinthians that I understand all mysteries, all knowledge
To the people who still listen to her music and have felt God talk to them, remember that God can use anything to talk to you. We look at the Bible where God spoke to Balaam through a donkey. He can use anything and anyone to talk to you, to help and to show you his glory. The Bible even says that when the Lord comes for his people there will be some outside the door saying but Lord we did miracles in your name and preached and he will tell them, depart from me I do not know you workers of inquity. God works everything together for good for his people. So he will get something good out of her music regardless if she is living according to his word or not. Paul said in phillipians that some will preach God out of envy and rivalry while others will teach sincerely. And that whether they are teaching out of pretense or truth, the gospel will be proclaimed either way. That doesn’t mean the people preaching it are always living by it. I personally do not think she is standing on God’s word because she refused to call homosexuality sin in an interview. I also noticed she never mentions Jesus in her more secular interviews. She talks about the “power of music brining people together” but she never mentioned Jesus. The Bible also mentions people who regard godliness as a means of gain. Meaning they want to see what they can get from it financially hence things like the prosperity gospel came about. Seems to be she Is trying to serve two master and please the world which the Bible tells us is impossible to serve two masters.
When they have THAT much influence on people and especially our kids, you are 100% right. Even when I was a kid, I always rolled my eyes when celebrities proclaimed thst they did not “sign up” to be a role model. I always thought that was a lame cop out as far as responsibility. At some point in time, we came to a place where the “that’s not my job” mentality became exceptable. I see it in my own generation. We cannot fix it without calling it out.
This is nonsense. The words she used are not at all occult. You can’t say “Oh, this one word sounds a little weird, and I have some personal associations between that word and these other things”. Take the log out of your own eye and encourage and edify your viewers, don’t sit here and snipe at other Christians, planting divisions, paranoia, judgmental attitudes, and fraciousness. Build relationships, not walls.
She had an opportunity to share the good news of the gospel on the Ellen Show, her response was I don’t know, I don’t judge anyone….Huge miss. I also heard her testimony on Christian radio about trying to make it in music and she was approached by a Christian label and so she accepted. It was nothing to do with her faith and everything to do with her desire for fame. It’s sad that there are many musically gifted bible believing lovers of God who are not given her platform.
I loved her music years ago, so when she gave a article about her testimony, I was excited to hear her story. She talked about her grandfather on a farm or something. She never mentioned the gospel or anything slightly deep. The most I could make sense of it, was the she didn’t really understand what they were filming her for, or she was having an off day. As time went on, I enjoyed her music less and less, since I was doubtful about her believing/understanding what she was singing. And then the interview happened, of her saying she doesn’t know if sinful things are actually sinful. I just went, “Ah,” — she hadn’t been having an off day. 🙁
This might be slightly off topic, but while perusal this article, it brought to mind a “gospel” song that I used to hear sung in the churches (black Baptist) years ago. It was calles “Two Wings” by the Christianiers. The song song basically refers to becoming the Seraphim upon dying and going to Heaven. Anyway, I go to the article and start reading the comments. As you can imagine, people are on there claiming that they know their deceased loved ones are in Heaven, with wings! Believing they are now angels! So yes, church music has to be screened for heretical lyrics.
Lucifer was the Chief Musician. He is also the Prince of the Power of the Air. IMO no one sees success over the airwaves without selling out. This rabbit hole can go pretty deep but eventually everyone shows their hand. Thank you, Spencer, for your hard work and dedication to this topic. It’s important and everyone needs to know this!!
Speaking as someone who suffers from anxiety (which is not something you can just get over and not worry) Some little thing can literally set me off and put me in fight or flight mode in my brain. My mind and heart will be racing all because you asked me a seemingly innocent question. The website on meditation is exactly what I do everyday to control and stop my anxiety from getting out of hand. Grounding is just used to keep your mind in this present place. Grounding for me is either to prevent or come back from an anxiety attack. Meditation is not always connected with the occult.
Rimanns 12:1-2 “Therefore, I urge you,(A) brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,(B) holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform(C) to the pattern of this world,(D) but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.(E) Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is(F)—his good, pleasing(G) and perfect will”
I am Roman Catholic. And I thought I was a music nerd LOVING Gregorian Chants! However, some of these “worship” songs have brought people to Christ. I am a first responder and some of these songs gave some desperate people enough hope to carry on. I don’t know…myself…I was raised that true worship songs are biblical and bring the listener into deep meditation with Christ. I would love to see these musicians hidden on stage BEHIND THE CROSS. It’s not about them! It IS about JESUS CHRIST! Shouldn’t we be loving, forgiving, Christ followers?
I don’t get why some people think that as a Christian everything you’d peak has to be out of the Bible.. speaking from your heart or what’s on your mind in that moment is not occult speak.. it’s just you speaking how you felt God was moving in your life. The Bible talks about Gods mysteries. There are also several examples of being still. Spending time in prayer and fasting is a spiritual reset and that is not bizarre.. and in a way is like meditation. Meditating, yoga etc. is not religious or a religion. It’s an act of being still. Listening to God. Praying. Reading the Bible. What your spewing is judge mental nonsense in my opinion.. reaching for something when you don’t know the persons heart
@6:31 a consulter with familiar spirits… that is also people who have “spirit guides” or who communicate with a spirit (even one they may believe to be the Holy Spirit) through journaling, etc. Thank you for this article. As a person who was saved out of the occult/new age and then the new age/self help version of Christianity, I can 100% attest to the truth of everything you have said here. The worst part about being deceived was that I legitimately DIDN’T KNOW that I was walking in darkness. “If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6:23b KJV Just to say, some of the people in this movement are deliberately deceiving people, and others are sincerely deceived. We need to be aware of the deception, grounded in the word, and ready to share the truth with them in love. Thank you for your ministry.
I went to a women of faith concert/revival whatever in Portland once and I felt eery when the artists started singing a song in african dialect that mentioned the enemy’s name, my reasoning is WHY even mention him? Almost every body were singing and standing/dancing to the lyrics except my daughter and I. Didn’t care about that show any more.
Thanks for doing this article on Lauren Daigle. I did a article on her a few years ago and got LOTS of hate comments people calling me judging just bc I questioned her clothing/necklace choices (half moon, hippy weird beads & such that came across to me as occult like) I also questioned WHY she couldn’t call homosexuality a sin. And she was partnering with Ellen & others that I didn’t think was appropriate for Christians to be exposed to. She has many new age elements & I quit listening to her music after noticing her going down the cult like trail & she doesn’t even mention Jesus or anything “Christian” on her website. She’s very worldly. After getting lots of hate on my you tube post of her article I kinda quit talking about these things bc it was exhausting how many in the church are so far into the new age, mysticism without even realizing they support it. (Like Bethel & their sozo junk) I wanted to do a article on that but our old church did so much bethel at time I instead brought awareness to church leadership & then we finally left that church bc they were involved with the Global Leadership Summit (that Bill & Melinda Gates, TD Jake’s & many world “leaders” false teachers & straight up baby murderers spoke at) I had hard time that the church advertised & hosted this garbage! Anyways. Left that church and honestly I haven’t spoken up much about any of it for a few years bc Christians have gotten so far into these things and they don’t realize. I can see how it happens…I just pray the Lord be with us all give us discernment!
I was getting a KJV Bible after I first started perusal you. And at the same time I was picking one out, a young girl was looking for a book of witchcraft and black magic, her mom was trying to talk her out of it, but the girl still got her way, I think. Crazy how those books are kept in the same section and so available for anyone and everyone yet publishers stopped producing a few Dr. Seuss books… 🤷♀️
Eventhough she has some beautiful songs, I have felt an uneasiness about her spiritually for quite a while and have since steered away from her music. Unfortunately, our Christian music stations seem to lack discernment in some of their music and messaging. I understand the love message, but we cannot abandon truth. As Christians, “The Belt of Truth” is the first piece of our armor and Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life! Truth is required for true repentance. We have to understand and accept that if we stand in the Truth in Jesus Christ, we will be disliked and persecuted. He was persecuted and told us that it would happen to us also. “…In this world you will have tribulation, but take heart, I have overcome the world!” John 16:33 “Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep your’s also.” John 15:20 KJV “Therefore, stand! Have the belt of truth buckled around your waist, …” Ephesians (Eph) 6:14 CJB
She’s a witch. A real one. Denied she is a Christian and called that adjective a ‘label’ Stated her music is not ‘Christian’. All over social media doing occultic hand signs and gestures If she was a Christian she would PROFESS that fact without ANY ambiguity whatsoever. Beautiful face, crystalline voice, but NOT a Christian by her own admission and therefore OF THE WORLD
“Every singer and every song should be held to the same doctrinal standard as every preacher…” Amen! There are songs that are sung in church that I refuse to sing because they are doctrinally incorrect. What I sing has an impact on ME. I won’t sing a song – Christian or otherwise – that I feel is damaging.
Sometimes it takes some people to come into the full truth of the gospel, she’s probably still searching. The lord is great and merciful, he will reach her in the name of Jesus. Lauren is young, beautiful and talented may the lord forgive and guide her to the truth,if she’s dabbling in the occult and misleading people in her music. That’s my prayer for her and others like her.mercy🕊
Brother I am a devout Christian…the things you quoted about Lauran about fasting is true. I fast often and she is correct. I don’t know her life entirely but the little quote she quoted is true….If you ever go on a 7 day water fast…you will understand what she is talking about. Paul mentions ” I have meat but you are not ready for it as you are still on milk.” According to Matthew 6 the real hypocrite is the one throwing stones. I thought you had some real legit stuff on Lauren…that is ridiculous. Judge not brother. Why do you folks take pleasure in judging Jesus said “Let them grow together I will separate them in the end.”
I’m a professional singer and songwriter in the country genre. I have been singing professionally most of my life, but I have been a Christian since I was 3. While I do sing country, pop, folk, and light rock, I never sing vulgar, hedonistic material, nor do I write it. My first love is my Lord and Savior. He blessed me to be able to sing and write and I know my talent, whatever it may be, is directly from Him and every time I sing I know from where it comes. My Lord did not and will not forsake me and I will never deny my Lord.
Hey Spencer. You say a lot of good stuff, but I’d like your articles a lot more if you spoke truth without mocking. Jesus didn’t mock. So many people are in need of Truth and correction but they won’t be open to receive it when delivered by someone who mocks them for their lack of knowledge. We were all there at one point in our life.
This is a person that needs our prayers and our witness. So many Christians have adopted new age ideologies without even knowing it. Recently I had the great honor to witness to a person that attends my church who was deeply steeped in New age ideas and practice, who HONESTLY thought she was following God. This is NOT uncommon these days. I gently but firmly pointed out to her this truth and she immediately turned from it and to the LORD. I was once deep in the new age occultism myself for thirty plus years. God called me back to him six years ago. I asked Him why he let me wander in the wilderness of the occult for so long and after nearly three years of asking and praying about it, He finally answered me. So I would know where and how the New age ideology was creeping into our churches, Bible studies and Christians consciousness. Do not cast her out, because she is probably as misinformed as my friend at church. PRAY for her, witness to her through email, fan letters, whatever. God can use her, just like he used me!!!
I don’t propose to know the heart of Lauren Daigle, but I do know that her music has brought me into a different knowledge of God’s biblical power, like the dry bones song. I propose a different interpretation to her tweet, and it’s based on 1 Corinthians 9, where Paul speaks of becoming all things to all people. IMHO she is speaking their language because she is talking to them. The content of what she said is not problematic, only the lingo. She wasn’t talking to Christians. She’s talking to New Agers.
I quit listening to KLOVE and any “christian” music bc it just didn’t seem pure anymore. And I have always completely disagreed with the “fan awards” that KLOVE does. I wondered why they need to mimic the world an these singers, etc already gave what reward they may have received. But is the Christian community even holding those with a platform to doctrinal purity? I don’t think so.
Good eye opening article! In 2020, in the months before Christmas, I noticed more witchcraft books than ever in BAM (Books A Million). They literally had 10 tables of it scattered over the entire store (half of it actual witchcraft, spell books). I confronted them in a Christian way, firmly but nicely. There were books in the top 10 section with vulgar language on the cover. The kids section was in the far back left of the store where the adult section should be. So children have to go all the way back, seeing all this filth to get to a “good children’s” section? They said it was free speech and refused to do anything. I told them “so is mine and I’m taking it elsewhere with my money”. Church, we need to take a stand or the next generation will be poisoned forever. We need to be firmly vocal and starve the Beast.
I came more closer for God Because of Lauren and I feel the presence of God from child of God Lauren and Lauren brings hope and Light and Love and happiness of God always and forever. there are so many people came for God and so many people’s Lives was saved because of Lauren. In the spirit of God Lauren is Blessed and protected always and forever. I would say Spencer Smith you are going far away from God day by day.
Thanks for sharing Spencer! This is precisely why the early Christians especially during the Reformation period and later the Puritans only sang Psalms. They were so strict on this rule, as God’s word (Psalms) is trustworthy, and is beatifully written by men who loved the Lord. I love the Psalms, but I am open to other songs and Hymns that bring glory and honour to our Wonderous God! I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit who protects us from, guides us, and leads us to decernment when it comes to ideas, ideologies that are not Biblical and give Honour to our most Holy God, therefore we must be sensitive when the Holy Spirit speaks to us on this matter. I always ask myself these questions; Is it Biblical? Is it to the glory and honor of God? Is the preacher or whoever is singing a living example of someone who loves the Lord? Their speech, lifestyle, dress, their belief honour God, do they stand out as a child of God. God bless your work.
Classic hymns are biblically sound in doctrine. Listen to the lyrics of “Amazing Grace”, “Nothing But the BIood of Jesus”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, and “I’m On The Winning Side”, to name a few, and you will see they match the scriptures. Meanwhile these apostate evangelicals sing about the “reckless love of God”, when the Bible tells us NOTHING ABOUT GOD IS RECKLESS, absolutely NOTHING. Everything God does, including His love for His creatures whom He created in His image, is PURPOSEFUL. The lyrics of our worship songs must be biblically sound, or they do not worship the one true living God who manifest Himself in Christ. These apostate evangelicals make their songs about man, and they glorify mankind rather than God. The true biblically sound hymns glorify God, and portray us as the wretched sinners we are, who are only saved because of God’s mercy and grace, through faith in the shed bIood of Christ. The latter doesn’t appeal to the worldly, apostate, counterfeit “church” though. Too many people don’t read the Bible and they’re getting caught up in this apostate mix of Luciferian New Age religion and unbiblical “Christianity”.
Transendent means beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience. Its not simply a new age word. It is not an occult word. Its an English word. It may not be popular in IFB circles, but I think you are reading a lot into a word in order to slander someone who is being obedient and learning to do what scripture says. For all those who have jumped on the bandwagon, maybe if you took some time to fast and pray and seek Gods face then you too would understand the secrets behind obedience. Maybe you would have a kinder heart and maybe you too could have a transendent experience.
This is a serious matter of what Lauren has been doing. It’s almost the same with my lady. She’s so involved with her tenants who are very worldly and enticed her what’s your signs and even listen to bad music. Worst of all, she’s bonded with a Muslim older woman who treats her like a real mother, which is a blatant lie from the pit of hell! 2 Corinth 6:14-18. Yet my lady says she reads the Bible every day. She has no idea what troubles she will have if she doesn’t come back to repent before the end times do come. Lately I found out, she cheated on me the second time with another man while doing her studies in the Yukon and she’s living with that loser! It’s against God’s Word and she knows this?! I forgive her for this, but this crushed me! God forgive her for her wicked ways! May she come to repent before her time comes.
REMEMBER: To her own master she stands or falls. And she will stand, for the Lord is able to make her stand. .. Judge righteously and do not condemn, for there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Berean Literal Bible But Michael the archangel, when he was reasoning with the devil, disputing about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring against him a blasphemous judgment, but he said “The Lord rebuke you.” Do not be an Accuser of the brethren 🐍 ❤️🔥 Forgive even as you are forgiven 🕊️🕊️🕊️
I think it would be more beneficial to have Lauren Daigle on your show and ask her clarifying questions. I can see how you could see it one way as being occult like but quiet time in prayer can be hard to describe. What about the Book of Revelation, wouldn’t that be transcendent? “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day” Rev 1:10. Bashing people on Social media is not profitable, it is like Slandering someone in a Newspaper article. How about we build relationships with people to Build up God’s kingdom and not tear it down. Just a thought
Spencer, I really admire what you do. I have been calling out false teachers and so called prophets. I made some points about doctrine and before I knew it, I was being bombarded with hate and told I was not a Christian. What started as a conversation with 3 people became 20 or 30 people attacking me because I dared to call out the false doctrine of Word Faith. I gave them a bible verse Matthew 5:10-11 and everything went quiet. These people are unreasonable. I think I will stick to encouraging people, who need hope, which is found in no man but Jesus.
This is precisely why I walked away from the Christian church, after being raised Christian. And I don’t mean Lauren Daigle. People who claim to be Christians are more concerned with the Church doctrine, than the love of God for all mankind. I do not care if Lauren loves homosexuals or that she doesn’t mention Jesus in a song. Music ministers to the soul, just as sermons do, provides hope and inspiration for those in need. It is about sharing the love of God, not a biblical doctrine. I have found most Christians to be judgmental, cruel, unloving hypocrites, claiming to be righteous and Godly people. Implying they are right and everyone else is wrong. Arrogance. There is a difference in believing and knowing. That’s why Christianity is based faith and trust, isn’t it? In fact ALL religions are based on faith and trust. Because NOBODY KNOWS, we all can choose to believe, regardless as to how strong your faith is people. And the arrogance is pushing people looking for God or Christ away. That is not love. I have no desire to associate with unloving people, who claim to be Godly.
Completely agree with you, you tackled this with such compassion and concern aswell God bless you bro, it would be amazing if this could convince people to think about what they are really doing! I pray and hope it will. I have family members who I am concerned for, for this kinda thing aswell. I don’t want to name names of course but one of them just keeps getting darker and darker, and as they get darker and darker I see also less talk on the bible, more talk on the Occult. I just can’t reason with them though, even sometimes they will agree but then I’ll see them sharing their interests into the Occult again and some of it just isn’t even discreet either. It’s like people get addicted and dissociative with it. God says no, because he wants to protect you. Thats all it is. Satan does NOT care, he just wants to sabotage you.
To be a Contemporary Christian Artist is to compromise ( following the same ideas: running alongside) with the world: this started with Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. ( in my generation) I’m not saying all Christian music is bad. But what I see is music that creates emotion without changing the heart. These artists sing great songs….. I’m referring to artists who live what they sing and sing what they live….. Billy Graham ( compromised)was the man who put DCTalk on the map. Billy wanted to reach the young people but the gospel, if preached with conviction will, with the Holy Spirit coming alongside change the youth not rap music wrapped in Christianise.
Surely the Lord God does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets. Amos 3:7 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 Transcendence, mysteries, stillness are ALL mentioned in scripture. Grasping at specks in someone else’s eyes maybe?
I can say a few months ago a friend invited me an paid for me to attend a Lauren Daigle concert on Lafayette, Louisiana in the cajun dome. While looking for the entrance to my seat section I stopped to get a Sprite and noticed lines formed at BEER and mixed drink concessions I was in shock. I’ve been to countless Christian concerts but never have I seen alcohol served there. She also joked around and sang some secular tidbits of songs as people around us raised their Beers in the air and laughed. Needless to say I left the concert early and Do Not plan to attend another one of her so called CHRISTIAN concerts.
The music at my old church started creeping me out. I’m convinced they were trying there best to copy elevation “church”. It’s funny elevation=high place. It got really strange and no one seemed to notice. No one would speak scripture either. This crap has demons behind it. People don’t know they’re really pagans.
Nothing can separate me from the love of Christ, I spent hundreds of pounds on Hillsong and bethel music, I just don’t understand do they sing about a counterfeit Jesus because quite a few songs I find are worship songs, I mean do I stop listening to them songs? I don’t listen to the preachers in them churches. What do I do Spenser? Help?
I enjoy her music. It has lifted me up many times I was down. People can judge all they want. Luckily I have a solid relationship with Christ. I love listening to her music and reading the bible. If the Holy Spirit convicts me down the road to stop listening to her, I will. I dont listen to man’s interpretation of the bible. Psalms 118:8
I do hear the occult “talk” in her comment, as well. It’s so sad cuz I really loved her music when it first came out. I really would sing along, worshipping & praising to The Lord…But now I have such a hard time listening to her music. I hope she isn’t lost for very long… I pray The Lord shakes her awake!
God transcends us through prayer and meditation as well… its interesting how we are constantly stimulated these days and we all have unconcious lust towards everything we are doing. In ancient times they sat in silence all the time as a by product of NOT NEEDING TO BE STIMULATED to not be bored. Its dangerous to not talk about the opposite of meditation which is constant stimulation, which stems from lust and then you poop on meditation and say its evil without decerning the root meanings of the words. ALL MEDITATION TRANSCENDS by the very definition of the word itself. DOWNSCENDING is what happens in constant stimulation which stems from lust (having other gods or external things that control our emotions)… nowadays this goes unseen in our lack of understanding basic truths.
Without meditating on the scriptures The MIND becomes empty and void and then demons can and will come into an empty mind. Read the scriptures and especially at night when going to sleep. Listen to the scriptures on those sleep websites on youtube. Go to the last 30 minutes of each one, cause they are soooo long. And fall asleep with the scriptures. Don’t give the devil one second of your MIND ! COME LORD JESUS !
I will not hit the like button! This guy is reaching for something that is not there in her words. Transcendent = beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience. surpassing the ordinary; exceptional. Lauren could have just said fasting is spiritual (surpassing the ordinary) and it would mean the same thing as transcendent. Job 11:7 “Can you fathom the mysteries of God?” I know I can’t and am still listening and learning little by little everyday and it’s seems Lauren is seeking God and discovering Him day by day too. And as this guys says, let’s commend her for it …and build her up and love her for her, and all the amazing good that has come from her following God and expressing that in her music. Go Lauren!!
Thank you for sharing this. I know for a fact that everything you said in regards to eastern philosophy and the wording is true. I am a Christian but got off on the eastern path through an organization that like you said, has a lot of wording that makes one think it’s ok. When it is not. The deception of satan is real. And he was also in charge of music when he was in Heaven hence the reason he uses music to draw people in and deceive them. Most people don’t want to wake up the spiritual truth that is in the scripture. Sad but true
New subscriber here! Thank you for saying what needs to be said. I am learning to work the sound booth at my church and the lady I work with is a HUGE Lauren Daigle fan. I am trying to educate her to the evils of music such as Hillsong and Bethel and others, but it is REALLY difficult. All I can think of is how we are to represent the TRUE character of God and not HIT the rock instead of speaking to it. So happy to have found you on my feed today. Gods blessings to you!!!
Thank You for putting words to what I’ve felt for so long regarding so much of what I see around me. I never caught it about Lauren but it’s everywhere if you just pay attention. I am leery of anyone in the christian community who has a ginormous following. I like TobyMac and have wondered about him. I’ve not searched that out. I was saying earlier in a post about the movie redeeming love that too many Christians Love a counterfeit more than the real thing. Jesus IS the Word. They love a feel good word more than the real Word. Books music articles. Satan is slick. People know that but they don’t see it.
I know this is a Christian website and I respect that, but just because one is Christian doesn’t mean one can throw hate at others for not being Christian. If she feels more at peace with incorporating old spirituality into her Christian beliefs, then she can. Her music is not harmful or shady. In contrast, I would argue that the reason she is played so much is because of her uplifting music. She is a valid Christian and should not be treated differently. She is just a gifted Christian singer, not a preacher. Also, shame on every Christian who has nothing better to do than insult another Christian who makes music for other Christians. Ya’ll are doing way too much. Also, she does use Jesus’s name. That is why I stopped listening to some of her songs, as I am not Christian.
I watched this major reach rhetoric your throwing around. You said let them talk. You’ll find out who they are.. I took the time to listen to a few of you other stories.. I guess you decided your thoughts and your words are in line with God and the gospel. Seems to me you spend very little time speaking Gods words and the gospel. How to walk with him. How to be in his spirit and presence. You pull folks more into the evilness and dark side with this kind of rhetoric. Away from where their thoughts and energy should be focused. Read the comments.. Your words are affecting other people.. They aren’t speaking about God. They are speaking darkness against people they don’t know.. Looking for evilness in not just them but in music and in all kinds of things.. Especially on the cusp of what The Lord God of hosts is preparing to do. I listened and what you are putting out there tells me who you are. In need of speaking God.. Jesus.. The Holy Spirit. Faith Trust.. Hope.. Love.. Filling those who follow you on utube or wherever.. With light.. Not darkness. Praying for you.
Sir, buzzwords, as you call them, are not New Age. Transcendent. Reset. The New Age does not own these words. Lauren is simply testifying to how she fasts and prays and finds renewal in it. Maybe you’ve forgotten that she speaks not only to Christians but to a large non-believing audience. You are straining for gnats and missing the simplicity of a sister in Christ speaking truth in a general way.
I see a lot of reading into things in a short post here. I could do another article showing how this post means the exact opposite of what you assumed. And I could be wrong too. The fact is neither of us can know what she believes based on this one post. Maybe do some research to verify her beliefs, or interview her to ask directly rather than condemning her publicly based on your interpretation of one post. Just cause she said the word transcendental doesn’t mean she’s talking about meditation.
Or. Ok or now hear me out. She is using modern language that lots of young people use to connect and help the younger generation understand what she is saying. Stillness is biblical. “Be still and know”. It’s very easy to assume things about the people who put themselves out there for you to judge. If you are preaching about someone and the way they speak make it less judgmental. If she is sinning her sin is no different then yours and the way your judging her.
I’ve been feeling off about her new album as well. Who she is working with, to my knowledge, are not involved with the holy scripture. In addition, there is way less of a Christian perspective. Lastly, she comes from New Orleans, that place is known for witchcraft. One more thing, why isnt she forthcoming in interviews about Jesus and God and her relationship with the holy Bible. She mentions God, but not that of the holy Bible. She mentions scripture but not that of the holy word, and she talks about Jesus but not the one from the Bible. Is she confused? Or, does she not know what she’s doing? Did she unknowingly sell herself? And why is she getting so famous from the world. Scripture says, James 1:4-8, friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God. That we should be faithful to Him.
“Great is the “MYSTERY” of God.” That is biblical. She bears all of the fruits of the spirit. “You will know them by their fruit.” “Be still, and know that I am God.” “Meditate on God’s word.” “Everyone who believes Jesus is Christ is of God.” She mentions God in more then one song, such as “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” and “O’Lord.” Idk why you are always bashing Lauren Daigle for.
Can you dissect those words rather then just give “correlation” to english spiritual buzz words. This is a very dangerous way of judging and its not being done through the spirit of humility, love, etc YOU need to decern and preach to the people what you came here to preach, which doesnt mean regurgitating buzz words without any discernment on the matter. She has a darkness in her that can be seen if your truly looking… but that has to be discussed with true discernment.
I absolutely agree with your stance on Lauren’s music and mystical words/practices. Also, the fact that music artists are given a pass on doctrine is terrible. What is worse…it breaks my heart that, as you said, to people who aren’t christians and read or hear this christianese…its sounds so intriguing. I am super curious though….how is it that talking about a “force draining you of your energy” not considered new age or mystical? And if you felt this book was “dark “, why then would you even mess with it? Your stance against Lauren’s words does not match up with your own words.
Wow…..you should really watch your articles…maybe have someone else view it before you put it out to the public….You are not speaking facts…You pick apart a girl’s paragraph and put together a hate speech to get views….You are what’s wrong with the freedom of speech. If you believe in god….God. That is great….be a servant of his, and speak his word. Not get views by Judging someone else when only Lauren Daigle knows her intention….the more you talk…the sadder and more unintelligent you sound. Have a Great Day!
Spencer, I say this with the love of Christ, why don’t you ask Lauren exactly what she believes? It would give you an opportunity to correct her with the love of Christ if she is in error. That is what the Bible tells us to do. We can’t base our opinions on a few posts on what someone actually believes. It concerns me though that so many Christians make youtube articles that tear down other believers rather than going to them and talking about the concerns in doctrinal error both in preaching and songwriting. God bless you.
Totally agree Christian musicians and singers should be held to the same accountability as a preacher. The number of times i hear people quoting songs instead of scripture is concerning. It’s not just the new material some of the older hymns are confusing at best. One of our church worship leaders wanted to sing a song one time that i knew was well dodgy. When i said i couldn’t play it i was left of the band for an absolute age. What concerned me most was the fact that not one single musician from a team of over 50 spoke up about it. It’s a nice song they said…..
Her songs have literally stopped people from killing themselves. Her words are clearly encouraging, uplifting, and influencing people in the right direction. Why are you looking to take out the stye in your brother’s eye when there is a log in yours. I understand the concept of warning about false prophets and being careful about divination, but there is a line between that and digging and searching deeply into every little thing someone says and does to try to twist it into a bad agenda. I work for a record label and yes, she was welcomed on Ellen and other secular platforms. Because that’s how labels promote their music. And Lauren is here promoting the freedom we can have in Christ. Meanwhile, people who are trying to say she’s bad for doing so are perusal movie stars with their whole bodies exposed and listening to artists pushing worldly agendas. Why are artists who are more outward about their worldliness more “accepted” than artists like Lauren when trying to get their message out to the world? Might want to think on that one… God is moving through her in mighty ways and I pray that no spirit of discouragement reaches her.
I don’t think this was her “coming out of the closet.” I think she doesn’t know. She has become too comfortable in her riches, and doesn’t even realize the idols she has fashioned for herself. You are right about her choice of words, but she herself doesn’t see it. I weep for Lauren, and will pray for her. Jesus loves her, and wants all of her…not the scraps left over after she gives herself to mysticism.
She sings a song that says “Turn your eyes upon Jesus” not sure why your saying she doesn’t mention Jesus. I attended one of her concerts and she sang and old hymn worship song too “We exalt thee oh Lord” and I could feel God’s presence. She also has a huge missions for kids and helps provide food, water and shelter for kids around the world and in Africa that you could Sponser. I think God has called us to serve and help others. I think you are over analyzing a paragraph and not looking at the big picture of how many she has blessed and helped. Let’s not be like the Pharisee’s who critized and condemned Jesus for healing on the Sabbath.
This article is a reach. I’ve encountered the Holy Spirit powerfully through her songs. They have always brought me to the feet of Jesus and reveal the heart of God. That is the fruit of her music, and Jesus says to judge a person by their fruit. Just because she mentions the word transcendental and reset, isn’t evidence of anything. That sounds like exactly what fasting does. It brings us out of our flesh and causes us to focus on the spiritual. God is spirit. He transcends the physical. Sounds transcendental to me. lol
The first time I heard Spencer speak about some of the “Christian” musicians I liked to listen to, I chose to dismiss what he said. I have since discovered that most of the “Christian” music industry is corrupt. I think some of them are themselves deceived, but some know exactly what they are doing. He is right about these artists and I really appreciate his exposing them for the wolves they are.
Psalm 100 1)Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2) Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 )Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4) Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5) For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations… If you’re making a joyful noise for people / to build your own kingdom/ to lead hearers away from our lord & saviour – and doing it in the name of Jesus – it’s deception and every action has consequences…
When you fast, your vision is clearer, everything is sharper, the way of thinking. The weight of being “immersed” in the world, the gravity that makes our conscience to stay in the world is light. we don’t know this until we experience these things when fasting. Even unsaved people experienced it when they fasted.
A quote from a friend and the Bible – “Mysticism was taught to man by the fallen angels to the nephalim then with humans.. That’s the counterfeit & perverted version of Gods (secret knowledge).. Duet 29:29 “”The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed and disclosed belong to us and to our children forever, so that we may do all of the words of this law.”” I’ve just discovered there is such a thing as a the International School of Temple Arts… So disgusting and abominable the things being taught that claim to bring freedom but actually bring more harm and bondage. To anyone “soul searching” don’t go to these places. They do everything that God hates and constantly had to judge Israel for in the Bible, only so they would return to Him and He would be glorified. None of this sick self-indulgence
We all have so much to learn in our spiritual journey. What does John 7: 24 say about judging? John 7:24 tells us, “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” The Bible has told us to judge, but we are to judge by what is right. There is Christ in every human being if you believe it… God will work things out….
I understand most people don’t read their own Bibles on a regular basis. They refuse to read and study for 15 minutes to 45 minutes of their day. This is basic stuff or beginners methods and learning and building an intimate relationship with their Creator and spiritual development and learning the scriptures….. I wish everyone the best. You challenge yourself to want a deeper relationship with Our Spiritual Father… WOW!
I find it unsettling that none of her songs mention JESUS….Once in awhile she may say God…..but unless I am wrong JESUS never & God only once or twice. That is enough for me to be Leary of Lauren & her music (I do not buy her CD’s). She once during an interview was ask about homosexuality and she said (paraphrasing) she couldn’t comment, because she has friends who are homosexuals….as a professed Christian why didn’t she simply say I DO NOT BELIEVE IN HOMOSEXUALITY, BUT I LOVE MY FRIENDS AND WILL PRAY FOR THEIR DELIVERANCE.
