A one-hit wonder is an act that has won a position on the national pop Top 40 record chart just once, as defined by music journalist Wayne Jancik in The Billboard Book of One-Hit Wonders. In the U. S., a one-hit wonder is an artist who cracks the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and never returns to that position. This definition can include acts with greater success outside their lone pop hit, but excludes those with multiple hits overshadowed by one signature song or those who never hit the top 40 but had exactly one song achieve mainstream popularity in some other way. Is Radiohead a one-hit wonder?

After the tour, Radiohead performed “Creep” as the opening song of their headline performance at the 2009 Reading Festival. They did not perform it again until their 2016 tour for A Moon Shaped Pool, when a fan shouted for it. In 2023, Yorke admitted that his vocal range had dropped with age and found “Creep” difficult to sing.

This takes me back to after my mom died and I was living in the Children’s Home in Oberlin. This was always on the radio…… So bittersweet for me…….. Soon it will once again be the anniversary of my mothers death. You will never understand how hard it is for a young child to lose their protector, their mother and how even a lifetime never takes away the pain
I was 8 years old in 1975 and had two teenage brothers. The music that they played (this song amongst them) had an indelible and profound effect in my life. So much so…that now, at the ripe old age of 55, this song makes me feel an absence for my youth. And yet I feel greatful. This music is like art for my ears…it will forever paint colors in my life.

Pilot are one of the greatest bands ever formed and when I heard this song for the first time back in 1995 it blew me away completely. I bought a best of PIlot album and then over the years I’ve bought all of them. You can’t lose with Pilot. They had amazing songwriting and melodies. You’d probably be surprised to know that their last album with just David Paton and Ian Bairnson Two’s A Crowd is one of the best and most sophisticated albums made during what was a tumultuous, but rewarding time for popular music unlike now. From the go Pilot were an album band who wrote great singles. “Magic” is an appropriate word for everything they recorded.
David Paton on bass and vocals — in 1995 in the middle of a tour Elton John’s bassist was hit by a car and seriously injured — with virtually no notice David Paton flew to the USA and within days was playing bass in the Elton John Band — the shows were two hours and forty five minutes long and David learned all those songs over night and stepped in and delivered flawless bass guitar and backing vocals — now you have to be an amazing musician and performer to do what David did for that 1995 EJ tour — i was at one of the shows at Madison Square Garden — and Elton told us this story — incredible and i have never forgotten it and have the highest respect for David Paton, I hope he is happy healthy and well
Ian bairnson is a real underrated dude. Gave this band a real rocky edge with his guitar work and his playing was class with Alan parsons. His lead playing is very reminiscent of gilmour, may and green. He didn’t get the credit he deserved Edit: Just found out of his passing there and I’m quite gutted tbh one of my favourites and a true influence of mine RIP sir. Always have sentimental values to this song as a 20 year old guitar player this was actually my first exposure to an electric guitar through the 2005 magic roundabout film. Loved this song ever since I was a Kid
Forgive me, but this song brings me back to an awesome summer at Boy Scout camp when we boys heard this song on the assistant scout master’s radio and all shouted/sang along with our own words, “oh oh oh it’s my DICK’,. we did this until he had to turn the radio off and still it went on for another five minutes. Ahh the good old days.

when humanity didn’t suck. when people were nice, normal and actually human. but now this world is the biggest disappoint the universe (or god) has ever made. now we can only dream of when humanity actually had colour and fun. anyone who is reading this comment, have a good day/morning/afternoon/night/midnight, enjoy life while you, don’t let bullies or racists get in your way, don’t let sextists treat woman like dirt, don’t let your disabilities get in your way, so what if you have glasses? is that going to stop you? No, it won’t. like Shia beiaf said (possible grammer mistake) “just do it” make your dreams come true. If you have to use a wheelchair to get around that doesn’t make you weak. It makes you special, it doesn’t matter if you have to have robots limbs, and even if you live somewhere poor, you still have a chance. it doesn’t matter. just live your life. don’t kill your self, don’t do drugs, don’t murder, don’t rape, don’t kidnap and don’t be racist. I hope this comment helps you. and also one last thing, life is magic. you just have to belive. and waste years of life of work. But it’ll probably be worth it.
I can literally feel the sun of a summer day at the pool whenever I hear it. And then hitting the Dairy Queen on the way home. The early seventies were so rad. Honestly. So glad to have been a kid then with magic like this or Bachman Turner Overdrive or Sly and the Family Stone coming over the radio.
