I can totally see why it didn’t seem worth it for yall. We drink! 😂 We also had our kids when we did it so we got that excited energy from them and other families around us. When Tink flies right to you my kids exploded with excitement. The table next to us jumped up and started waving it was just pure Disney Magic 😊 Also camping out for a hub or mainstreet spot is not our vibe. The kids have a hard time seeing over adults and then you have sweaty rando’s mouth breathing all over you lol I just can’t. The biggest downside for sure was the trees being in the way of the projections 👎 and the desserts were very mid. I’ll give yall that for sure.

The post dessert party is the best option in my opinion. Did it a few years back. You can get your spot in the hub grass about an hour before fireworks. Then, post show while all the crowds leave the park, have to wait for a long time for transportation, you get to sit and enjoy dessert! It was so worth it.
I considered doing the pre-party last year just so we didn’t have to camp out in Main Street with 2 little kids, but just walking up and finding a spot 15 minutes before fireworks worked perfectly. You’re right, there’s just something about the energy of the crowd! I’m looking forward to perusal from Fantasyland on our next trip!
I love your honest reviews! I’m always so tempted to splurge on these parties, but we’ve become such an alternative fireworks viewing location family we’re hardly ever in front of the castle now. Plus taking advantage of the alcohol is the only way to come close to ‘breaking even’ and I’m currently pregnant sooo that’s out 😂

🎆 I did the pre fireworks dessert party this year and the post fireworks dessert party last year where you get to be on the job grass during the actual fireworks and not have a extremely large crowd around you which is nice. The desserts are okay. There is no AC in the seating area which I was surprised at. Doing the pre fireworks gave us. A chance to go rides after the fireworks (but getting through the crowd is insane). Doing the post fireworks show was nice because you had a place to relax and eat after the fireworks but it is very late at night and you’re so tired. I have no had the experience yet of finding a spot in the crowd to watch on Main Street so I cannot review that yet-
I agree about the value. I have done all three dessert parties at MK, the before, after and this one. I give this one an edge because of the seating. It’s hard for me to get up and down and it was nice to not have to do that. But I found the desserts to not be to my liking. I would rather just stake out my spot on main street and get some snacks and go that route. My most favorite fireworks party was back before 2020 when they did the Star Wars Galactic something at Hollywood Studios. It was a dessert party, that also offered some savory selections and you got a little gift and there were interactions with the Storm Troopers. it was so much fun. Then you got to go out and have a prime location for the show and fireworks there. It was really nice. I wish they would bring that one back.
🎆🎆 Yes, it’s not really worth it and we had the Desert Party where we sat out on the grass .. .. Now, having said that, I did pay for my family of six to do it twice and was glad to do it .. .. I have a 98YO mum who was still able to walk a lot so instead of the carnage on Main Street, I decided on the Party and I was glad to do it just for the peace and space of the reserved viewing!
🏰🎆I agree with you that it isn’t worth it and it’s sort of a one and done for us. That being said, I would agree there are certain circumstances that something like this makes sense – for example, one of my children has ASD and he really wanted to see the fireworks, but is easily overwhelmed with crowds and loud sounds. We did the dessert firework party as an introduction for him to give him more space and he wore his headphones and loved it. Thankfully since then he’s become used to Disney crowds so we watch from elsewhere in the park, but the first time was a great way to introduce a sensitive child to the environment.
🎆 My hubby and I were just talking about “dad tax” a couple days ago in Disney 😂 bought our daughter a Mickey Rice Krispie and he took a bite and said it was “dad tax” I think all dads do it haha never done the fireworks dessert party but we have thought about it. I have a hard time getting behind the kids price. Our 4 year old just wouldn’t eat/drink that much. Or sit there for that long honestly!
The desserts were ~*only ok*~. Not bad, but not life changing. I drink occasionally so I got a champagne to start, and then a blue moon. A few sips in to the blue moon I realized “I don’t really want this, I’m just having it because it’s here.” So I had some pog juice. The chocolate strawberries were great though! I was really disappointed by the hub grass viewing area (or rather by the people) because we were all sitting while waiting for fireworks to start and it seemed like we all had a perfect view. Then about 5 minutes before they started, as if on cue, everyone stood up and crowded to the front of the area 😩 I did figure out that if we moved all the way to the back of the viewing area we still had a good view, and my 3 year old was able to run around excitedly cheering the fireworks. So it wasn’t a total loss. 🎆
🎇🍰🍪🍭🧁🧚🏻🎆8-5-2024 Hey Ashley & Dean 😊 -We went to this exact Dessert Fireworks party in November 2021 (during the 50th anniversary celebration) They had 2 seatings, one early like you guys did and one like an hour later. The first seating (us) the cast members MOVED the whole first seating to the grassy area roped off (hub grass?) We did not get to stay in the restaurant seating area. But we didn’t want to, our view from the hub grass was AWESOME❣️ And the hub grass was packed but we very much enjoyed it. Thanks for your review and different perspectives. Sounds like they changed it to one seating??? We are going in March 2025 so we will see….
I really wanted to take my family of 5 to Disney in the near future, but I feel like the company is trying to just nickel & dime EVERYTHING & it’s pricing a lot of families out of going…even if it’s a bare bones trip. I really appreciate creators like you who are passionate about the parks, but also tell it like it is. One day, hopefully after Disney comes to its senses, we’ll be able to go without going into debt, but for now, it’s looking like a trip to Universal Studios will be a much cheaper option. This was great. We go to WDW almost monthly and decided this was great for our daughter’s bday. My only concern would be dealing with having to wake up at 6:45 am to get the que and then first pick with genie+. This usually leads to a departure around 5 pm because girls are exhausted by then. But we have always pushed though. Does it feel crowded even when people stand up in reserved are/? Do they “overbook” it because then it defeats the purpose. Love to hear what others with kids between 11 and 8 have to say. Thank you all
