Is The Sprint Magic Box Still Functional?

Sprint has unveiled the Magic Box, an LTE-Advanced User equipment (UE) Relay product produced by small cell manufacturer Airspan. The Magic Box plugs into the wall for power and acts as a cellular signal booster, providing 4G LTE service. It currently provides data coverage only.

Sprint’s Magic Box is free to qualified customers and appears to be a win-win for both customers and Sprint. Customers get better indoor coverage and Sprint gets inexpensive backhaul for its network. Distribution of the Sprint Magic Box has risen sharply, with on average more than 30,000 units being distributed per unit.

The Sprint TREBL with Magic Box is the world’s first smart home small cell solution providing enhanced LTE coverage, integrated Alexa voice assistant, and exceptional Harman Kardon sound. Since T-Mobile took over Sprint, they discontinued the Magic Box in March, leaving customers without a signal booster at all.

The Sprint Magic Box is designed to send out a cellular signal for enhanced LTE coverage, integrated Alexa voice assistant, and exceptional Harman Kardon sound. The TREBL Magic Box is Alexa enabled and can increase upload and download speeds by 200 within areas of 30,000 square feet. However, the Magic Box is intended for fixed-location installations only and relies on having a strong LTE Band-41 signal outdoors.

The new device requires no set-up or in-home broadband and will boost 4G LTE coverage indoors and in the surrounding area for Sprint customers. If you decide not to keep your Magic Box, try making it useful for you first. If not, collect some for your own reuse.

Does Sprint complete still exist?

Sprint, the fourth largest US mobile network operator, has merged with TMobile, creating a single power company. Prior to the merger, both companies had their own phone warranties, Sprint Complete and Protection 360 from T-Mobile. As a result, T-Mobile insurance is taking over, with Protection 360 being more comprehensive than Upsie’s smartphone protection plan due to its higher monthly cost.

Can you still use Sprint phones?

Following the merger between Sprint and T-Mobile in April 2023, the Sprint network has been fully integrated into the latter’s network. Consequently, the last Sprint SIM cards have been deactivated. Is Sprint completely gone?

Sprint Corporation and T-Mobile US merged in 2020 for $26 billion, announced on April 29, 2018. The merger was approved after a two-year process, and T-Mobile emerged as the surviving brand. The Sprint brand was discontinued by T-Mobile on August 2, 2020. In December 2013, Sprint and its parent company, SoftBank, were working on a deal to acquire a majority stake in T-Mobile US for at least $20 billion. The proposed merger would have bolstered T-Mobile’s market position and resulted in the country’s major national carriers being controlled by only three companies.

However, the government was skeptical about the acquisition’s approval by regulators due to antitrust concerns and the FCC chairman’s goal to maintain four national carriers in the US. In April 2014, Sprint was in talks with its lenders to ensure financial readiness for the $24 billion bid, which was planned for “summer 2014”. T-Mobile CEO John Legere was the top contender for a merged Sprint/T-Mobile, and Sprint insisted on a low termination fee to prevent regulators from being given an incentive to block the deal.

Why did Sprint fail?

Sprint, once a major player in the telecommunications industry, has been acquiring T-Mobile. The company, which had over 50 million customers, was acquired by T-Mobile after a rollercoaster journey. Sprint’s roots can be traced back to the 1800s, when it was part of the South Pacific Railroad Company. The company installed telegraph lines along its tracks, which later transformed into telephone lines. In the 1980s, the U. S.

Government broke up AT and T’s monopoly, allowing customers to choose their long-distance carrier. Sprint seized this opportunity and entered the long-distance market, leveraging its existing infrastructure. This strategy was not sustainable and contributed to Sprint’s downfall.

Are SIM cards deactivated?

The text discusses the benefits of having an extra physical sim card, which can be used on multiple phone numbers without the need to buy another one. However, the process of deactivating a sim card is more complex than a simple yes or no. Deactivated sim cards can be reactivated and used on another phone number. However, sim cards have an expiration date, which means they cannot be reused if the card is not active when the expiration date comes up. If the sim card is active on a line when the expiration date comes up, it continues to function properly.

To view the current status of a sim number, the text suggests that the sim number can be DMed, but it cannot be updated to a phone number. However, it can save the recipient a call. The text emphasizes the importance of having a backup sim card to avoid the need to buy another one.

Is T-Mobile shutting down Sprint LTE?

T-Mobile has confirmed that it will shut down the Sprint LTE network by June 30, 2022, and its 3G CDMA network on January 1, 2022. T-Mobile’s plan to assimilate Sprint is part of its $26 billion purchase of the operator, which closed last year. T-Mobile has already moved about 33 of its Sprint customers onto its network.

Is Sprint Magic Box discontinued?

The author, who used Sprint’s Magic Box Gen 3 as a signal booster, reported poor reception in their rural area. Since T-Mobile took over Sprint, the Magic Box was discontinued in March, leaving the user without a signal booster. • Apparently the signal at my house is so bad that it’s been in that final stage where it’s connecting to the LTE network for well over four weeks. From the review given in the article I can see that it works well but it just doesn’t seem to work for me. Any ideas on how I could get it to work would be appreciated.

  • This is a Known issue, Im not sure what the issue exactly is but, I believe it’s a defect with the screens not working and going on I have been sent 6 magic boxes 3 had bad screens the screen would go in and out horizontal lines. The other 2 were stuck at 30 % for days at a time. The 6th one finally worked. This is sprint for you folks the only way to fix this issue is cancel them and get a new provider.

  • 1) sprint magic box works like an extension cord it connects to the tower and then relays the signal to the paired device. 2) I believe it only helps you with data (lte ) 3) you may need to know where is the closest tower in your area and position your magic box in a window or on a ledge in that direction with lease interference as possible ie if your window had a very big shrub trim it 4) you need to talk to sprint to acquire talk to them and tell them that you need a magic box also ask them what band does the tower near you operates on .your phone ( usually not the issue ) but your magic box needs to support that band. 5) You need to use an app or sprint magic box app on your phone to locate the best location to place the magic box. 5) You power up the box # it turns on boots up and goes thru configuring this takes maybe an hour if it takes longer unplug it try again. If it fails move try again if it fails again move try again if it doesn’t work it’s a bad box call sprint.
