Topper the Goat, a costumed character, has been the mascot of St. Edward’s University for over a century. The Congregation of Holy Cross (CSC), a religious order founded in France in the 1800s, works primarily in schools and dioceses. Topper is known for his cloven hooves and is often associated with the university’s Hilltopper pride.
St. Edward’s University has adopted a new identity featuring the university’s mountain goat mascot, Topper. The identities feature new artwork by local designer Matt Brown, who also designed the university’s athletics website. The official athletics website for St. Edward’s University Hilltoppers features the mascot on campus.
Topper is not played by a cheerful Hilltopper, but an actual goat. At Hillfest, the giant carnival at the start of school, students can meet the goat mascot of St. Edward’s. At dismissal, Eddie, the St. Edward’s Mascot, is always fun to see.
The St. Edward Eagles, a competitive high school athletic program, have won 78 state and 11 national championship titles. The primary logo mascot name is Blitzing Fle, and the university offers a variety of sports and activities to engage students.
In summary, Topper the Goat is a beloved mascot of St. Edward’s University, known for its unique and memorable characteristics. Students can show their school spirit by participating in university traditions, cheering on athletes, following the mascot, and wearing their St. Ed’s gear.

Wonderful stuff! So much pressure from humans upon the Earth’s very finite resources. Surely we can learn to share our territory with that of such magnificent creatures as the wolf? On a positive note, I live in Scotland where moves are afoot to try and re-introduce the wolf, which has been extinct here for generations. Best wishes with your project. Neil.
