TRON Lightcycle Run, first announced in 2017, is a thrilling semi-indoor coaster at Magic Kingdom, Disney World Resort. Based on the “TRON” franchise and 2010 Disney film, “TRON: Legacy”, riders can join Team Blue and race against other teams on the ride. The ride speeds up to 59 miles per hour at the start, making it, along with its sister ride, TRON Lightcycle Power Run in Shanghai, the fastest at any Disney park in the world.
Located in Tomorrowland, the Magic Kingdom attraction is located north of Space Mountain. The coaster’s track takes riders inside and outside the attraction’s building, reaching a maximum speed of nearly 60 mph (97 km/h). This makes it the fastest Disney roller coaster at the time of its opening in 2016.
The ride is short at only about 60 seconds, making it suitable for those who don’t tend to get motion sick on shorter coasters. TRON Lightcycle Run is the newest roller coaster to make the thriller attraction line-up at Disney World, with speeds reaching nearly 60 mph. It is the 2nd fastest ride at Walt Disney World going 60 MPH, with the fastest being the test track at 65 MPH.
The silver lining of TRON Lightcycle Run is that riders don’t have to grip the metal handle for very long due to its short ride time. The 59 mile-per-hour launch sends riders into a digital world with programmers and users, making it an exhilarating experience unlike anything else found on property.

Just rode this ride but couldn’t ride the motorcycle aspect of it because I’m “too tall”. I’m 6foot 2 inches and couldn’t ride the bike because my legs extended too far to the wheels 🛞. So I had to ride it the traditional way which sucks cause I wanted the bike. A lot of people had the same issue as me as well, over weight or just tall people had issues with the comfortablility of the ride. Bad design in my book. This ride was compared to the hulk of universal a lot because it had impulse like the hulk. But the hulks impulse was WAY more intense and the hulk lasted 2 minutes and 15 seconds while tron was only 60 seconds long. A lot of people around me hated it and said it was a let down. I don’t disagree with them. The staff ontop of that was rude to people riding. Disney sucks. Universal you can’t compete with that sorry Disney
To be honest, it was dissapointing. At least I didn’t have to wait too long, like 20 minutes in the line. But the ride is too smooth, drops are not very thrilling, too short, no air time, no fun. I am a mountain biker, maybe being in a similar position than the bike took all the “scary part” away for me 😂
Rode this today at WDW, and found the experience overall to be disappointing and filled with noise fatigue. For starters, the lineup is LOUD. Almost a dizzying level of noise pollution combined with an extremely repetitive “epic” soundtrack that doesn’t vary. The high point of the ride is the “reveal” of the launch area when the “digitize” effect happens part way through the lineup. Once making my way into the ride vehicle, it has a fairly awkward fitment to get the head forward seating to happen. Launch is moderate, like perhaps a 5 ish second 0-60. Certainly not staggering or on par with many other modern LIM launch coasters. From there, it’s one big sweeping outdoor corner followed by some indoor corners, which are VERY brake-checked before each one. Like right down to a crawl. Ride time is SHORT. Like 1 minute. Honestly, Hagrids motorbike adventure is easily 10x more fun than this ride, with a gorgeous lineup, longer ride time, and WAY better flow, fast corners and overall sensation of speed and fun.
There is a levels of darkness coasters of Disney world I can handle three Level one is seven dwarfs level two is test track level three is tron Level four space Mountain level five is guardians of the Galaxy Level six is expedition Everest level seven is tower of terror level eight is the most impossible one in Disney World rockin roller coaster from gianmarco enjoy guys
Hate to be negative. It looks amazing. Opening launch is great then it’s just over? Could have been epic. It’s bizarre that no one at corporate said maybe this thing is too short of a ride time. It was delayed by the Covid era. Why not extend the track another 15 or 30 seconds? They have the room back there. Another bizarre decision by Disney corporate.
