TRON Lightcycle / Run is a high-speed coaster located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom park in Florida, based on the TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland. The ride is situated next to Space Mountain and behind the Tomorrowland Speedway. The attraction allows riders to board a two-wheeled train of TRON Lightcycles. The ride is located in a new area in Tomorrowland next to Space Mountain and uses Virtual Queue. The TRON marquee, the new ‘Energy Bites’ kiosk, the arrival concourse, and the canopy are all part of the attraction. The ride is technically beyond the berm in Magic Kingdom, but is situated in a tight plot of land between the boundaries of Tomorrowland and Storybook. The TRON Lightcycle / Run roller coaster attraction is the largest expansion for the park and is seated in the back of the park, just behind the Tomorrowland Speedway and Space Mountain. Where is TRON in Magic Kingdom?

As of September 9, 2024, TRON Lightcycle/Run is no longer included in the virtual queue system at Magic Kingdom. To participate in the ride, guests are required to register for the complimentary Virtual Queue or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane selection through the Disney Genie platform. It should be noted that standby queues are not available. To reserve a position, utilize the My Disney Experience mobile application and confirm that the latest version is installed on your device.
How to get on TRON at Disney World?
Walt Disney World Resort offers a variety of convenient services for guests, including the TRON Lightcycle / Run ride. To join the virtual queue, guests can download the My Disney Experience app and request it no more than once per day during regular park hours. Boarding groups for the virtual queue are limited, subject to availability, and not guaranteed. Late arrivals may not be accommodated. There are two daily opportunities to request the virtual queue: 7:00 a. m. and 1:00 p. m. Guests do not need to be in Magic Kingdom ® Park to join the virtual queue.
To join the virtual queue or purchase individual Lightning Lane entry, guests must have valid admission and may need a theme park reservation. An opportunity to join the virtual queue will be available at 6:00 p. m. on select dates during extended evening theme park hours, benefiting registered guests staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort, or other select hotels. Cardmembers can enjoy extended evening theme park hours by booking their Disney vacation with special vacation financing.
Guests can purchase individual Lightning Lane entry through the My Disney Experience app on the day of their visit, including those staying at Disney Resort hotels and select hotels. Lightning Lane entry purchases are limited in availability, subject to change or closure, may vary by date, and are not guaranteed.
Can you ride Guardians of the Galaxy without a virtual queue?
To ensure a guaranteed ride time during Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for a specific time slot, ideally around 9:00 AM. After enjoying the ride, get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios using Complimentary Resort Transportation from your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. The most efficient route is to walk to the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT and hop on the Disney Skyliner to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort station and transfer to the Skyliner line heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Is TRON or Guardians scarier?

The most comparable coaster is Hagrid’s at Universal, which features similar launches, twists, turns, and drops but lacks stomach-pumping dips or surprisingly scary moments.
As you exit the ride, head to the former Space Mountain gift shop, which has been transformed with a Tron theme and a unique activation. Inside, guests can step into a futuristic pod, have their face scanned and voice captured, and receive a chip loaded with data. This chip can be inserted into various technology items, including an identity disc that doubles as a Bluetooth speaker, a remote control lightcycle, and a customizable action figure that displays your image on the toy’s face shield and plays your voice saying signature phrases from the Tron world.
Is TRON virtual queue only?
TRON Lightcycle / Run does not have a standby line, so riders must choose between a Virtual Queue Boarding Group or a paid Lightning Lane Single Pass to ride at Disney World. Disney announced that on September 9, 2024, a regular standby queue will replace the Virtual Queue. The Virtual Queue is active daily from 7 a. m. to 1 p. m., with a third opening at 6 p. m. for visitors eligible for Extended Evening Hours or hard ticket events. The Virtual Queue is available at 7 a. m. and 1 p. m. for visitors attending hard ticket events.
