The Usual Amount Of Magic Mushrooms In A Chocolate Bar?

Magic mushrooms, containing the active ingredient psilocybin, are psychedelic compounds that alter your state of consciousness. Consuming psilocybin converts it into psilocinin, which binds to serotonin receptors in the brain and causes changes in cognition, perception, and behavior. Magic mushroom chocolate bars and gummies have become common in smoke shops and illegal cannabis dispensaries. The best magic mushroom dosage depends on the species and their potency. Recreational doses range from 1 to 5 grams of dry mushrooms and 10-50 grams of fresh mushrooms.

The effects of magic chocolate typically begin within 30 to 60 minutes of consumption and can last between 4 to 6 hours. Each chocolate bar comes with 3.5 grams of high-quality magic mushrooms infused within the chocolate, making it perfect for consumption. Research indicates that chocolate can synergize with psilocybin to enhance the psychedelic experience. The use of psychedelic mushrooms continues to grow in popularity, including different types of edible products.

As grey-market psilocybin sweets grow more popular in the US, doctors warn of risks to unsuspecting kids. The integration of psychedelic mushrooms into various forms, including chocolate, has garnered significant attention among enthusiasts and consumers. Magic mushroom chocolate bars, also known as “shroom bars” and psilocybin chocolate, are one of the most popular kinds of magic mushroom edibles available.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning the public to avoid Diamond Shruumz chocolates, cones, and gummies following an outbreak. Two new studies estimate psychedelic use in the U.S. and both find magic mushrooms gaining in popularity, including some individuals who just want to experience the benefits of magic mushrooms.

  • I am a 78 year old man who recently ate one of these chocolate bars and now I finally understand the meaning of life and now that my life will be coming to an end in the next 5-20 years I am able to die happy and content knowing that there is way more to life that what I previously thought or could even comprehend. God bless you all.

  • Personally glad I didn’t kill my trip that turned into an ego death experience. It was like experiencing 10 years of therapy in the span of a few hours. I truly thought I was dying. Like I was 100% convinced. Very long story short, once I stopped fighting death and I accepted my own death, the terror and pain and anxiety all stopped and I was engulfed in an overwhelming feeling of love and acceptance. It was wild. I wouldn’t want to go through it again but I’m grateful that I did in general.

  • You are 100% right that if you are not happy with yourself and life, don’t take high doses. I took 4 grams or more the other day, and for a solid half hour I could stop thinking about how I am messing my life up, massively paranoid and felt like everyone hates me. What actually helped me was getting up and doing something productive while I watched a funny movie, 15 min of sweeping and cleaning and I was back to my happy place.

  • Ate two pieces of a 3.5 gram bar the other day, and it was my first experience with mushrooms at a trippy level. It was beautiful. Until then I have been microdosing and it’s been so helpful… I’ve quit smoking cigarettes (month and a half clean), I’ve stopped eating sugar and drinking soda (also a month and a half clean) and I’ve lost 20 pounds from that and exercising and resuming skateboarding after a three year hiatus. It has turned my depression filled, self loathing brain into a much more positive and healthy functioning mind. Im so greatful for your articles, as I’ve watched for years without feeling ready to try any psychedelics. I finally jumped in when I felt ready, and it’s been life altering.

  • I only have eaten a mushroom chocolate once in my life. I was used to that 30-45 minute wait time. It hit me like a bullet. I was in full trip in less than ten minutes. Caught me and my two friends totally off guard. We were trying to set up a camp site and instead ended up on the ground in hysterics. Love the giggles.

  • I don’t normally comment, but when I started perusal your articles, Adam, I had never tripped before. Now I have a few experiences with various substances under my belt and, though some were challenging, I always was able to face what came at me and always found the positives, and have been able to integrate what I’ve learned into my life in this reality. None of that would ever have been possible without your safety and harm reduction articles and I am truly thankful.

  • It’s true you get what u need not what you want. Tripped on lsd yesterday and ended up playing with my daughter almost the entire time. I connected deeply with her and understood her world. We watched YouTube shorts together and I understood the fascination with it and stopped judging her. I was able to see the meaning behind every clip and fully understand now why she likes it so much. I saw it through the eyes of source. Woke up next day feeling a better parent, more connected and caring and understanding. Exactly what I needed. I am so happy!!! She didn’t notice I was tripping because I am usually quite crazy and quirky. Thank you god for this experience! I am eternally grateful for the healing that is taking place now. Love ❤❤❤

  • I randomly was given acid one day, I was so deep into an IV heroin addiction, living in a really small black hole of a town where no one knew who I was behind closed doors. I took the acid w my neighbor, but ended up alone (first time tripping alone) I wakes around my hometown and even tried using heroin ( I know you can’t get high while tripping but I tried bc of my addictive tendencies) I was so disgusted in myself. This trip was such an eye opener and if I could go back, I would have only done it way sooner. I decided in my trip that I was going to leave that shitty town and get off the dope. Within 2 weeks I reached out to my whole family and told them what a POS I had become, I moved out of that town to a small city 2 1/2 hours away & finally put the needles down. I’m no saint and have def fucked up since, but that’s the acid trip that redirected my whole life and changed me and my position 💕

  • Shrooms def helped me a lot mentally. I was a barely functioning alcoholic drinking a fifth everyday, obese as hell (almost 300lbs), super depressed and had suicidal thoughts all the time, and just felt like my life wasn’t worth anything. Started taking shrooms to try and offset my alcohol withdrawals when I decided to finally go cold turkey, and not only did they offset alot of the withdrawals, but the trips I had made me realize so much about life. About not to be negative and do something finally in my life, fix things and turn shit around. 8 months later, take them couple times a week, but I’ve lost 90 lbs, I’ve gotten way more active in life and have changed my lifestyle around, no more gaming or nerd hobbies, was hitting the gym, stargazing, camping, etc. And finally got my self out of that depressed hole, learned to love myself, and most importantly learned to love someone else. Overall I’m always gonna be grateful for shrooms, I was really heading towards the end and now I feel like I’m living life at the best. Wish they’d be legal everywhere, yet alcohol and tobacco you can buy anywhere 😂 makes so much sense

  • I just did shrooms two days ago. I did 2.5g. I was in my room, under a pillow fort and with dim lights and some sitar music. I was alone which I know isn’t recommended but I truly felt I needed to be alone my first time. And my intention was to just have an intimate experience with myself and honestly I handled it really well. Whenever things began to get too deep for me I was able to steer my perspective somewhere more mellow or shallow. I touched a lot on childhood trauma and I cried a lot. I regressed into this child state for a bit or would speak to my child self. I addressed so much and I’m really excited for my next trip where I’m allowing myself to go in deeper. So glad I began this journey

  • I’m someone who is probably never going to experiment with psychedelic drugs personally, but I still find these articles really interesting and entertaining. I also think it’s great that you’re educating viewers on how to have a safe and comfortable trip when they would be trying the substance regardless and might risk hurting themselves. Keep up the good work☺️

  • My last small mushroom trip (plus a little alcohol) felt like a 3 hour+ The Office episode. Every time I was moving my head, it felt like a camera movement that switched between person. Remember the movie Django when sometimes the camera quickly pans and zooms in on someone face? Exactly like this. It also felt like every piece of conversation my friends were having were scripted. It was hilarious, but nothing psychotic.

  • I just tried shrooms for the first time about a week ago, I took 4g my wife took 2. As they started coming on I instantly felt sick so we put on step brothers to take my mind off the nauseous feeling. Their voices started changing in pitch from low to high and changing to purple and green. I knew shit was about to get too intense to watch anything so we went to go lay down. As I started to come up it felt like something was coming closer to me like an entity in my mind. Then it was like an alien language was communicating with me through patterns and non legible writing but I some what understood it. I could barely open my eyes and when I did the room looked like it had an Aztec theme to it and it felt like I wasn’t living in our current time. I went to go take a shower to see if that would help and I was trying to remember things in my past to see if would help and I couldn’t remember anything but my name. I had visuals of everything that made me, me being smashed down to basically nothing and that put me in a panic state. Then the entity was getting really close and I was seeing like an 8 bit version of something that looked like temple run of this thing shooting fire out of its mouth chasing me and I could feel the heat on my back. The shower made me uneasy so I tried to sit down and take a bath. As soon as the water stopped it was dead silent and whatever it was spoke to me and said nowhere to go now. I freaked out and hopped out the bath and my wife was standing outside the door with an ice cube in her hand.

  • I had a very similar DMT trip that really addressed my need to please people or get people to like me. My “entity” represented a person that I wanted to connect with, but it was very scathing and demeaning. The frustration and sadness as well as the hits to my self esteem were devastating. I sat there, spiraling. ‘Why can’t you level with me? Meet me in the middle. Please, I don’t want this discord. Why do you hate me? I just wanted to love you’ It sort of snapped in my mind that this was all coming from within, that this voice was a verbalization of my own mind against me. I realized this was shame, and I had to let go of the relationship with this entity that promoted that shame. Once that idea popped up, I was able to look up with a grand ol’ smile and dismiss those nasty thoughts with confidence and closure. It really gave me a sense of dignity, and I also learned to select relationships better and respectfully cut off the ones that were no good for me.

  • I’m proud of you for continuing to learn from these experiences. You’re pioneering a platform that a lot of people haven’t had a way to learn about and in the way you present it, allows for someone to understand where dosing that high can help show you what needs to happen in their life. Nice work, brotha.

  • I once had a spoonful of peanut butter while on shrooms n freaked out cause I couldn’t swallow it, had to wash my mouth out. Another time I was on lsd and ate a peanut butter m&m on accident and it caught me so off guard. I had flashbacks to the first time 😂 That stuff is deadly while tripping, avoid at all costs.

  • The first time I took a psychedelic (LSD), I had an amazing trip. I took a shower, and my color perception turned the water droplets red. I immediately asked my self “is this blood?” then calmly reminded my self “no, I’m just tripping” I was proud of my self for remaining so calm 😅 rather than potentially turning my experience into a bad one.

  • Back in 2016, my first ever dry mushroom experience I consumed a quarter, starting off with an eighth and doubling within an hour . It was an incredible experience to say the least . I was in a beautiful setting with the love of my life at the time and everything just flowed together to make a very memorable experience . All outlines of objects became defined with reds and greens . I went on a nature walk at night on a night with a crystal clear sky absolutely filled with stars and the tracers were absolutely intense . My experience lasted about 8 hours .

  • I live in WA. Back in 2014 when I was 16, a friend from my skatepark gave me about blue small 4-7 mushroom cap in the ziplock bag on Halloween . Before I head inside my apartment, I ate the whole bag (taste like mushroom on a supreme pizza) and walked inside. After playing a little bit of need for speed on the win against my little brother, I have to head into my room from his room because I told him, I feel like I’m swimming right now and I need to head to bed. I open my desk drawer and empty my pockets into as I hop on the bed. While closing my eyes, it was the craziest experience I ever had. I smoked weed and got drunk before but never have a huge body high in my life. I can relate to your consciousness during your trip with mine because I did too felt connected about my thoughts more than just thinking about them. I want to hear a women tell me everything I needed to know and my trip gave me what I asked for. I heard a beautiful women sounded like a 25-40 yrs old telling me all kind of stuff about my intentions that it will all happen. Last saying was that She told me “Also the ziploc bag will be filled up with more mushrooms and weed tomorrow morning as you wake up” I smiled so greatly dozing off to sleep like a baby. I woke up 7 hours later remembering my thoughts and got so excited that I jumped out of bed and open my desk drawer in the morning just to face sadness as I’m staring at a empty crumple up ziplock bag. I went to the bathroom and looked myself in the mirror and said “Damn, what a shame” .

  • Excellent presentation man. So glad to see someone represent that puts health and diet first and foremost. Nice mic and nice article and well spoken. Not just some stoner in a car with a cell phone saying dude I’m fucked up😂. I was told some who have ate shrooms stay high the rest of their life so I ate 2 polkadot bars at the Pink Floyd light show at the planetarium. Sadly it wore off😢 but that’s ok I’ll take more 😂. Peace.

  • I’ve never tried the chocolate bars. Back in the day, we used to to pick them out in the field. The choice was eating them or making mushroom tea. Mixing koolaid in the tea made it drinkable. Wow!!! What wonderful trips I’ve experienced!!! Patterns of colors the sky and you realize that you exist beyond your body!!!

  • I took acid while unemployed and was with a bunch of my best friends but became mute and insecure due to my job situation while knowing everyone there was balling out in NYC. The “tough love” you talked about is exactly what I experienced as it really refocused me and made me realize I had to get my shit together before I partied again. The acid basically told me to fuck off and I concur 😂

  • Just did mushrooms for the first time the other day and I can say it was so absolutely amazing and fun. I was with friends and on the come up we were listening to music, playing games and smoking some weed. Then we decided we needed a change of scene and left to go visit a nearby park. As soon as I left the room I felt a huge change in my mood; I got really deeply scared as we were walking and honestly a sense of existential dread hit me. We got to the park and sat down and was keeping this to myself which was only deepening the feeling of dread, until one of my friends asked me how I was doing and then I aired out that I was not feeling great. My friend told me to breath and said a lot of comforting things that made the dread feel a little smaller each minute she was talking. Pretty soon that feeling was gone and the rest of the trip was euphoric. TL;DR Put your intentions/feelings out into the ether, it really does help

  • Accidental therapeutic venting comment: I did shrooms last weekend after being really afraid to AND after being in a bad mental place for weeks prior. It still felt like the right thing to do tho. I got a trip that was partially just absolutely beautiful (we went out in nature which is my FAVORITE place to be anytime). I felt extremely euphoric. The second half of the trip was very confronting. It wasnt “bad” in an unbearable way (i’d been feeling so bad that I didnt think I could feel any worse anyway), but it did show me that “hey this is something youre struggling with and you’re going to have to deal with it”. And tbh? I’m a wreck right now. I also couldnt really verbally communicate for a while. But it still feels like a good thing?? It’s like I’m breaking myself down so that I can heal and rebuild myself, and it feels like shrooms helped me create an image of what I want myself to be. Or more specifically: what parts of me I absolutely no longer need. I am on the waiting list for a psychologist, but writing this felt like a therapy session on it’s own. I’m safe and I’m going to be great. Thanks 4 reading, stranger on the internet.

  • I tried mushrooms this year and I wasn’t in the right place mentally so I spent 2 hours feeling like I’m in the movie Midsommar and was having intense emotions that I couldn’t even name, but once I went into the backyard and sat on the grass I was in such peace and bliss that I managed to figure things out and realised I am lacking purpose in life and that’s what’s causing my depression. I would do it again just for that sense of calm I had..

  • I was sooo afraid of using shrooms due to past trauma and not being in control. My husband convinced me to try. He helped me set up a calming environment. For me it was a beautiful peaceful experience. I learned we are very much connected to nature and I could see the connections to the plants and sky. It taught me that I don’t have to dwell on the past abuses and it’s ok to heal and experience all life has to offer, as I’m in control of my journey now. I started hiking that week for the first time and now I’m an avid outdoorsy hippy with lots of hiking for the last 5 years now. I lost 120 lbs too! They totally changed my life. I also tried LSD but it was too superficial for me.

  • The depression feeling is one that I fully embraced. I allowed myself to feel it fully and began to sob, I remember staring at this wolf picture and it was coming out with eyes that glowed. This moment made me realize I hadn’t fully processed past trauma and pain. I compartmentalized it and put the pain in the wrong place. My entire trip 6 to 7 hours was in a dim light room alone. I came out of it knowing I wanted to live fully and I needed to move on from some past things. I now have a wonderful girlfriend and my life is moving forward. I don’t recommend it for everyone. I literally was hugging myself. I did it four months after my divorce.

  • “Usually you don’t get the experience that you ask for”… yeah, this is so very true. But having asked for it so many times, I finally got it. It was so intense and overwhelming that I could not do much else than just put my face in my hands, close my eyes and lie down on the floor, face down. But while forced to be with my eyes closed, I got the visuals I’ve always been asking for; while also forced on a cruise through all possible negative feelings like guilt and sorrow and the combinations of everything… -_- But, as you also said; “You get the experience that you need” is also very true, and happened with this same trip. While I feared I’m gonna die and felt like everything was my fault, I staid calm and my other tripmates didn’t even know what was going on. But it was somehow… how could I say it… purifying to say the least. Been stressed out and focusing on the wrong things for a long while before the trip, but it really turned it around for me. I feel like I was reborn or something! That said; need to continue building this new tower… EDIT: Now that you mentioned those morphing tunnels and all that… Oh boy, I had the same thing. I took a little over 2 grams of golden teachers (I think) and those were all small shrooms.. It was something I had NEVER experienced before. But the worms, tunnels, whatever… Jesus fucking Christ. And everything were also in an endless pattern, so no matter where I “looked” (eyes closed still, ding ding) the same loop just kept going everywhere.

  • The first time I did mushrooms was at a friend’s house. People I trusted were present but there were also bunch of other people in the space that I feel like affected my trip. I had probably done 1.5gs of mushrooms, I’m not sure what strain it was. The trip lasted only about 4 hours but it was probably the most terrifying beautiful experience I’ve ever had. The initial part was uncontrollable tearing up and laughing. I lost some time and everything started to morph and shift, patterns started forming where they didn’t start. I ended up in a loop where I was talking to a friend, drinking water and sitting down. My friend had tripped before and tried to explain that I was just confused and that it was fine, but I was trying to rationalize my trip at the time and it only made it go crazy. I eventually ended up laying down on a couch and that was when it went into hyperdrive. I felt like I was jumping through times in my life that I had experienced and some that I hadn’t. I felt like I was having sex multiple times throughout the trip. I eventually ended up feeling like I had become everyone around me, trying to rationalize the meaning of life and it came to me as the distance between my heartbeats. Every beat of my heart felt like hours apart, and so much has happened between each beat that I started to realize how much matters in that small span of time. I’ve begun appreciating life more completely since my trip. Part of the problem for me is my exceptional imagination and the trip was so strong I’ve had some difficulty wondering if I’m not still caught in the trip at times.

  • I had the same transition from blissful, to depleted. The best trip of my life was on new years when I took a chocolate dosed at 5 grams. I took it a t a friend’s place but in about 20 minutes I had to walk home before it was too strong to walk. The utter euphoria was almost painful. With jolt/wave feelings coming randomly and very intensely. After an hour of geometric spirally visuals, and waves of euphoria, I started to notice my visuals going away and all I could think about was all the bad memories from my life and all the things I messed up, this guilt and worthless feeling made my absolutely lose it and I just rolled on the floor crying for almost 2 hours just stuck in the worst headspace. But by the time I started to sober up I had my come to Jesus moment, when I realized I’d lived my whole life without putting faith in myself to get through whatever’s next. And I stood up, cleaned the snot out of my carpet and went to bed. Never doubt yourself, and always trust that you can get through anything

  • As a paramedic, the benzodiazepine route for bad trip termination is definitely handy and not something they teach us. That being considered, we would normally use some sort of sedative like droperidol, or ketamine for patients who have a very high potential for harming themselves or others in a seemingly agitated delirium state. Though I feel like sedating someone who may wake up still tripping may make things much much worse than reversal of such things. So using a non-sedation dose of a benzodiazepine such as Versed would prove to be much better. This proves this being an educational article.

  • Last time i took mushrooms i was in my basement at night with it all blacked out, i couldnt really see much (everyonce in a while ill let the mushrooms paint the pictures w no light assistance) but i was down there for about an hour until i passed the come up and i decided to go outside. It was mid-late winter and pretty cold this night, i stepped outside and everything was iced over. Every single blade of grass had ice on it and the whole neighborhood was like a ghost town. One of the most peaceful snd surreal walks of my life

  • One part of this article i liked . When people ask “how does a heavy trip feel? ” it breaks your ego. In a way thats how it connects you to nature and your life itself. It breaks down any actual idea of what the outside life wants you to be and shows you, your actual insecurities. Without them actually even having to show you anything besides patterns or taking you to dmt world. That’s where mental health is needed as soon as you can feel anything going out of the ordinary one has to grab a grip and say i got this.

  • 18:30 Adam becomes a holy deity You can see the nirvana in his face. The willingness to accept the adversity and see the beauty of the moment. The detachment from anything but his experience. I wish we could all be there. I’ve been on enough shroom trips to read his face like a book. Beautiful article Adam

  • I love the included meditation and Intention. Intention is extremely powerful, and I use it many ways to explore my very own dreams. I have only had psychedelic mushrooms in my dreams and they have been great. It will be interesting to see when I do get my hands on shrooms & then compare waking trips to dream trips.

  • I used to sell mushroom chocolates with 2.5g in each and they would send you into the shadow realm for a good 8 hours. Chocolate does something to strengthen the shrooms I reckon, same as honey because if you took the same amount of the same shrooms without the chocolate you would trip but no where near as hard. They were good mushies but the chocolate just made them insane. I used to tell ppl to warm a cup of milk and a teaspoon of honey and dissolve the chocolate bar in the milk, Best hot-chocolate trip ever! Many times I warned ppl to maybe take half and nobody ever listened and ALWAYS came back and said “Bro……I should have listened!”

  • Adam dude it really sounds like you were separating yourself from the kratom addiction! You are flowing from bliss to down because of how you feel about your kratom addiction as high and low and you can in-fact break through the addiction on your own. You relayed a message to me I’d been asking the universe for. And it’s just to go with the flow of life allow yourself the peace to break the addiction. Anyway man fucking love you, you made me confident enough to have my own experiences which have been truly life changing. Don’t ever stop your articles are amazing how vulnerable you are willing to be with the details of your feelings and experiences is truly touching your the king of YouTube in my world.

  • I did mushrooms once and it was like the trip he described in this. Good at first and then it got intense with what felt like dark energy haunting me when I was laying in my bed, felt like I was locked in and couldn’t move it was honestly terrible I’d much rather be in my natural mindstate. I truly believe these Psychedelics aren’t as profound as people like to think.

  • Mushrooms have always been a fantastic tool for me. I have been fortunate enough to have them at times in my life when the emotional depths and introspection have helped me enormously. Although I feel that each time Ive done mushrooms in my life it has changed me fundamentally I still could not come close to putting the specifics into mere words.

  • I’ve done shrooms twice. In chocolate bar form. One of my concerns from the get go was really just how much mushrooms is in the chocolate bar. Just how accurate are the people making the bars. As well as when the chocolate is melted and the shroom powder mixed it. How diligent are they in keeping the mixture homogenous and ensuring that some bars aren’t getting more or less powder than others. Let me tell you. My first experience was 2 grams. It was a mild trip. Full body high, was smiling like a Cheshire Cat, spending ridiculous amount of time staring at stupid things. Like the bottom of my sink. Experienced distortion of the room, saw patterns in the ceiling. I have popcorn texture ceilings and the pattern on the ceiling looked like pattern on bounty paper towel. I came to the conclusion that the fabric of the universe is bounty. Still hilarious! I took this dose on a full stomach was otherwise feeling well. Never experience any nausea. Took a good 30-40 minutes for it start being noticeable. Was constantly googling should or can I take more. A few weeks later, I ate an entire bar 3.75 grams supposedly. I didn’t experience anything I felt was truly psychedelic the first time so I wanted to make sure. I like a moron did this fasted. Well before 15 minutes was up I knew, I fucked up. It came on like nothing else. Room got bright, tv was on, pictures in the tv were traced with bright lights. Colours got really intense. The room became distorted. I started feeling extreme panic/anxiety.

  • For me, that cold feeling feels more like a moist feeling. Like I have a half inch thick bubble around my skin that’s breathing itself and it feels good. My first trip ever was about 3 grams and after the chill hit, all of my meat turned into porous mushroom material and I knew what it felt like to be one. I asked my friends “Why am I a mushroom?” and they said, “Because you ate mushrooms” and it made sense. If in a way you really are what you eat, I wonder if that’s part of why so many of us are depressed. Because we eat animals or plants who lived their whole lives in depressing conditions.

  • Food for thought regarding your claim of the bars being over-dosed: Rather than consuming a single bar at 3g per, you consumed portions of a few bars. If 3g goes into a bar, is it evenly distributed? That seems rather unlikely. Could you have been ‘unlucky’ in having consumed the more potent distributions of psilocybin in those pieces you ate?

  • The last time I did mush, my friend realised that she had to go buy pads for her menstruation. We were like 10 people, all high on mushrooms, and of course we went with my dear friend to the drugstore! I have no idea how long we spend in this drugstore but I remember laughing and having an excellent time while being there and I I can honestly say I never had such a great time again.

  • That’s so cool that you’re able to do this in document it for people A lot of people are interested in this. Also sounds like to me that you may be getting to a place where you might be getting over doing mushrooms if you’re starting to experience a negative in it. People can do substances for a while and then the body changes positives become negatives. Keep your eye open pay attention to what your body is telling you 💪🏼

  • What has helped me IMMENSELY while being extremely high on psychedelics is having someone there that I can simply ask “hey, we are good right?” And have someone to just say yeah dude, we are good!! And also reminding myself that it will eventually go away, and time will not fail me and will eventually take me to sobriety and to try to just try and enjoy the experience

  • First time I did shrooms, I bought an Ounce with my buddy. We took 3G to start and had a mellow high. After we came down, we decided for whatever reason to split the bag and take the rest, so we each took 11G. I broke through to the alien plane. I laid down in my bed and saw 3 mantis like humanoids standing above me with a fire on my bed. It was like some native ritual going on, and they danced around my room, bounced off the walls, and vortexed for hours. It was the most surreal experience I’ve ever had. I was happy the whole time because I thought it was so cool. I wish I could go back to that trip! Weirdly, I didn’t get anything mentally from it.

  • I got a hold of some mushies a couple years ago that were just nuts. I’m not for sure what kind they were, looked similar to golden teachers but slightly different. I’m fairly experienced with shrooms and have ate a hero’s dose a couple times. These were just different. I only ate 2.5 grams and within 45 minutes I was catapulted into another dimension. It was like an alternate reality. It was like having the most vivid lucid dream ever except I couldn’t tell it was a dream. Felt as real as I feel right now. It was about 6 hours before I could even open my eyes and begin to participate with “reality” again.

  • My first mushroom trip was absolutely incredible. I was in the marine corps and took them with some close friends and hung out for a while but I decided to lay down with no lights by myself. I closed my eyes and let my brain just run wild and I saw myself at home with my family and it was almost like I was actually there. I hadn’t seen home in over two years at that point and it really showed me what I needed to see and to be back home gave me such an amazing feeling of happiness that I forgot I could even have and gave me a much needed break from the awful and miserable environment I was stuck in. It definitely made my quality of life after that much better even if it was all in my head. The only sad part was when I opened my eyes I was still in that shitty place instead of where I wanted to be.

  • I remember after doing dmt about a week or so later I smoked some weed and was doing shadow work trying to reach the root cause of my depression and suicidal thoughts and I experienced the fractals of personality as you describe and I remember asking them if they wanted to kill themselves too and they all said no except for me, this right before I began to speak to my sub conscious who claimed to be me but at 4 years old when my dad died, I’ve since lost contact after I got in contact with what I believe to be spirit guides and/or source/God. <3 just wanted to share my experience for anyone who's had anything similar

  • I had 1.5 grams last Friday, my first time. I didn’t trip super hard but my partner has a huge Georgia O’Keeffe painting on the wall which I stared at for like 15 mins just perusal the colors move around like flowing water mixing into each other. I also saw what looked like a 4D grid over everything and made me feel like I was in a computer game but it went away after a little bit. Also when I looked at people’s faces it looked like static and like their facial features were glitching around on their heads. 10/10 tho looking forward to doing some again ✌

  • I definitely recommend trying to draw or paint during the trip! Its such a beautiful feeling seeing there be a blank sheet of paper and then you being the one to create something from that. Animals being near you is also an amazing experience (i have a black lab). I try to walk outside also each time and just look around.

  • I truly truly wish that I had seen this article before my first big dose trip that I had last weekend. Only 4g in one whole chocolate bar so I didn’t think much of it. Just me and the cats at home and somehow I had the thought of reaching out to a trusted friend to call them and talk to them for a little while until I came down from it. Easily the most terrifying experience of my life but also one of the most profound and educational ones as well. When you feel like you’re both losing your mind and dying at the same time, and it all exists within one moment of time that lasts for all of eternity as far as you’re concerned, shit goes downhill really quick and you learn what you really value in life very quickly.

  • Thank you for taking your precious time out of your life and helping the psychonaut community. It’s crazy perusal your come up, it triggers a sensory in my mind and i almost feel it physically from all my previous trips. That uncomfortable feeling, the cold, the uneasiness etc. It’s wild how mushrooms can help you weeks later and you don’t even realize that it’s almost like a delayed side effect from the psilocybin. I am a fan. Thank you again brother.

  • Man big props to everyone who can do this type of stuff all the time. Last trip i ever had was on acid and i did not have a great time. Havnt taken any psychs since. All was fine and dandy giggling at first. but then it hit me like a freight train. I quickly transformed into some glowing spherical ball for what felt like hours… Then my buddy took me to a gas station for a drink (was night time) and the lights threw me so far off… it felt as if the whole world was staring at me and they could tell i was absolutely blasted. Then when leaving the gas station we were on a back road and there was a flashing yellow stop light… it seemed like we kept looping backwards and not making any progress towards the light.. then found some horses on the side of the road, and i swear they were staring right through into my soul. Last thing i remember during all of my visuals was laying in his back seat and somehow having strong visuals of the inside of the seat of his car… A lot of cogs and springs and what not. I think what made it not fun for me was the gas station and the glowing ball part… I felt like i had died and that was why i was that glowing ball.

  • I think the intensity of a trip can also differ greatly depending upon where you are mentally. My first trip and all my previous trips have been 4 grams, but my most recent trip was only 2. However, that 2 gram trip was the most intense experience i’ve had with shrooms, at least emotionally. Maybe the more dire your mental state is the lower your dose should be. Sounds kinda counterproductive in a way but thats been my experience. Maybe the smaller the dilemma the more freedom you have with dosage. A good analogy could be driving while tired, where driving fast is equivalent to a higher dosage and reaching bed is representative of overcoming your dilemma. The more tired you feel, the slower you should drive, despite wanting to get in bed quickly. Further, the more awake you feel, the faster you could drive, despite not having the desire to get in bed quickly.

  • Whenever I do mushrooms the first 40 mins for me is usually horrible, I just feel cold and nauseous, but then after it’s always a great time. I personally haven’t taken more then 1.7G cuz I’m kinda worried about taking more lol, but also totally open to it sometime. I just feel like mushrooms are something most people should try at least once in their lives.

  • Thank you so much for sharing. Especially the end. I’m 55 yrs old and 2.5 years into recovery from Oxy. Had my first mushroom experience last Tuesday (5g of B+) with a close friend in Asheville NC. My trip was near identical as you described this one. 80% of my trip was profoundly uncomfortable (at moments terrifying) but EXACTLY what I needed in this season of life. I am sold and absolutely intend to explore the use of this medicine further. Thank you for all of your efforts.

  • Hey Adam just wanted to say, I appreciated your speaking into the universe and setting intention and open minded perspective, regarding the mushrooms as the teacher, and although sometimes you may not get your intention, you will get what you need. In hindsight I love having this mindset, and it’s great seeing it in other people. I appreciate you and your articles much love ❤️

  • Definitely worth perusal as this brings me back to a time in my life when I was doing drugs similar to this but could never quite explain how I was feeling. I found drawing was my answer to express myself and it felt natural and almost intuitive like something was doing it for me straight from mind to paper. Love the work you’re doing its so informative and enjoyable to watch.

  • I tried mushrooms with a buddy and an ex at the time and ended up feeling paralyzed and had incredibly vivid visuals that were so strong. She said I had 3 eyes and that my face was melting. While I was perusal the office I saw everyones skeletons through there skin. All in all it was a wild experience not the best 1st experience.

  • I’m a big lover of making art when I was doing acid so when I tried shrooms I joked to a friend that was going to paint the face of God. Well after 6 hours of weeping to the unveiling of suppressed memories and emotions I came out of it with one of my favorite pieces to this day. A blue scribbly hand reaching to a figure in the sky, four black wings emerging from its back, draped in flowing white robes, its face a shifting dripping black mess. It’s entire form turning into a face looking down on you tears streaming from its eyes, surrounded by bloody red clouds a few of which morphed into what seems like hands beckoning almost in a plea to the blue hand. Two forces separated and yet still reaching for one another. Needless to say I treasure it a lot and I hope to do shrooms again eventually and seeing what experience I can paint next. Edit: I should also mention I don’t know what’s it like to trip with a person so I’m curious if that would effect my creativity. (I’m really isolative and while loving to do art in general I’ve found it helps immensely during bad trips. Being able to put the feelings and experience down artistically helps me rationalize the craziness to myself. Kinda like talking through pictures to myself.)

  • Dude I just discovered your page. I haven’t been in the right frame of mind to do psychedelics for many years. Heroin addiction, homelessness, prison, all these things have been sitting heavy on my mind for some time. I used to do mushrooms alot. We even made our own chocolate bars out of them. We would eat up to 10 to 12 grams at a time. I did a fair amount of acid too. I thought I would never want to do psychs again. But perusal your articles is getting me excited about the idea of doing them again. Your articles are very on point and informative. Thank you for creating thid content for all of us

  • Please be cautious doing mushrooms. My first time trying them was definitely one of the scariest experiences of my life. I had no idea “trip killers” existed but that is such a comforting thing to have ready like Adam said just in case your mind goes down a dark road. I have never experienced anything like what happened that night and unfortunately I had to “ride it out”. While it did teach me things I could have most definitely gone without it. Being safe and cautious should 10 out of 10 times take priority because your mental health is nothing to play around with and a bad trip { speaking from experience} can legitimately ruin your state of mind for a period of time or even permanently. Mushrooms are not always scary and can be super blissful and enlightening however I am glad Adam mentioned that sometimes it does not always end up fine. Stay safe and remember to ask for help if needed, if it wasn’t for my best friend how I see as my brother I don’t know if I would have made it though that night. Stay safe y’all

  • I took 2 grams my first time and even in the moment i felt it was too little, but i was glad that i started low, because the novelty of the experience felt magical even at that playful dose, and yes like he says, youre anxious the first time, you dont know what to expect, so starting low is always best.

  • I have Charles Bonnet syndrome and I have mushroom/dmt type experiences everytime I smoke cannabis. It started when I was using alot like 3 gram dabs a night but it ended up happening when id use small amounts like a few hits of flower. It was fun for a few months but ive had to step away because I started having panic attacks along with them. Love the content

  • I remember my first time on shrooms I ate 3/5ths of a 3.5g Psilocybin chocolate bar I bought in DC. It was the singular most spiritual experience of my life and I decided from that moment on that shrooms are fucking great. I’m relatively new to the Psychedelics community so that actually only happened about a week ago and I only finished the bar yesterday.

  • I’m always curious about other peoples come up on psychedelics (specifically mushrooms) because it hits me like a train. I can feel myself trying to grasp onto my known reality and feeling and the more I resist the more uncomfortable it is. It feels amazing when I can finally let go and watch things unfold 🙂

  • It’s funny how things have changed over the years. When I was in high school (’79 – ’82), everyone just ate them by the handful, sometimes at a party or in the woods. I liked eating some before school and try to hide what was happening inside my head from the teachers–never got caught, so I guess I was successful. A couple years later, I was working & living in CT. A co-worker showed me a pasture on a nearby dairy farm where they grew like crazy. Very good times were had…

  • Never seen your website before – I’m 64 and used to eat LSD like candy (well, some of it was) back in the 70’s. A trip was normally 12-14 hours, and ego loss was common. We followed Dr. Leary’s ideas of tying the ego loss with Tibetan Book of the Dead. 1st, 2nd and 3rd bardo. 3rd bardo was when you were being shown the way back, and that’s typically when you bum out, because the material world blows and you can see it for what it is. Sometimes the hallucinations were just as vivid as 2nd, but more “machine” like. I’ve done mescaline and mushrooms (1/2 lb of the former – fresh picked), and they were very different especially the freaking cactus. I stopped around 1980. Back then, it would be a dream to have commercial products – just as we used to dream about the reality of pot shops today. I do know a friend who was a connoisseur of mushrooms (he grew) had some varieties that would put you on a 10-12 hour trip with just 3 grams. I’d definitely be up for a test drive sometime before it becomes too much for an old phart.

  • The strain very much matters. My favourite is golden teacher. It helps me put chaos into order systematically (I’m a programmer so I really appreciate that). Really great for planning shit out and thinking through things in the later stages of the trip. On the other hand, blue meanie was just terrible, dark closed-eye visuals reminiscent of a blend of organic and cold technological, downright alien patterns sucking into themselves and then bursting out…Didn’t quite cause a bad trip, but just ended up annoying me lol. Also, take a shower while you’re peaking, make sure you use a shower gel you like the smell of, it feels amazing both during and after.

  • My train of thought from experience has come to be “strength” is the ability to let go and submit and accept when dealing with this stuff you can’t control. You can’t fight the wave but you can relax and ride it and enjoy the experience and let it take you where it may and just like surfing it can be amazing. But try fighting the wave and overpower it or go against it…. You will end up in a panic getting pummeled underwater and possibly drowning. Learning to let go and relinquish control and accept has been the key for me personally. That has been my strength when doing this stuff.

  • Awesome. Experiencing mushrooms is a blessing. The chocolates are much more potent than straight mushrooms. I think it is how it is delivered in the chocolate, it is all up front. Takes your body time to break down the mushroom if you eat it whole, therefore metering out the active compounds. The chocolate is melted and psilocybin ready to go before the it even hits your stomach.

  • Yesterday I got magic truffles from Amsterdam sent to me in the US. It is also legal and not that expensive and they are basically the same as regular mushrooms. Also avoid taking a high dose of benzodiazepines. They will give you a pretty shitty hangover that makes you feel super tired and anxious the next day.

  • 20.57 You said you literally microdose with shrooms on a daily basis. What are some (significant or mundane) changes that you witnesses inside you and you life. I think if you can share them with us, it can really help the beginners if someone wants to microdose only rather than full blown trips. Thank you

  • Yes, benzo is absolutely spot on I get ODT clonazepam I suffer from extreme PTSD and extreme panic disorder along with GAD let me tell you! Those are perfect thank you for telling the viewers such as myself as those are prime for trip killers and all of the issues I struggle with that I just wrote about!

  • It’s funny, you’re probably the first person I’ve seen get the effect that I get every time. Any time I’ve ever done shrooms, about mid way through, everything feels hopeless and as you said, like there’s nothing to look forward to. I’ve never had a shroom trip that didn’t do this. I have to supplement the trip with mdma if I want to feel anything besides misery during a shroom trip. Acid doesn’t do that for me, but acid also always has moments that are overwhelming and also like you said, where it has overstayed its welcome. It makes me very paranoid socially. Feels like I’m speaking wrong and people are going to notice that i’m being weird and that i’m ‘not like them’. Even if it’s people who know and are alright with the fact that I’m tripping. The only time this didn’t happen for me is when I went to the girl I knew in my early 20’s who synthesized it, and she would usually sell us blotters but this time she didn’t have any, and offered to use a dropper to dose me and my friends. She did this nasally, and by the time it got to me, she accidentally dropped a lot more than one drop. I remember she told me not to worry about the cost, and to enjoy the ride. About 2 hours later, after the one sober friend drove us all to his house, we were walking inside and my vision filled completely with fractals of fallen leaves (this was in fall, in new york). I sat outside in the rain, overwhelmed but in a good way. It was reminiscent of DMT, a full blown breakthrough which I previously didn’t know could happen with acid.

  • I really enjoyed seeing you go through this process. It’s always uplifting to watch someone explore their own self awareness. After all, we each hold pieces to someone else’s puzzle. I don’t believe the “presence” is specifically associated with mushrooms though. I usually experience the same familiar being for every tripisode – every time has been on different substances and a few times while stone cold sober.

  • I took shrooms without researching them or knowing anything at all. I ate a lot because I thought the light buzz at the beginning is the top level I can reach but after 30 more minutes I was already puking and thinking im going to die so I searched for ”how to stop a shroom trip”. And another of your articles popped up which made me become calm in the first minute and I started to enjoy the trip. It was 3 years ago and I never thanked you 😀 I think I took 7 big mushrooms in 30 minutes and I weight 65 kilograms

  • I make psilocybin chocolates for a living with Enigma and we have 8g bars that feel like you’re taking almost 16. The potency of the Enigma we use is INTENSE and I made the mistake of taking half an 8g bar at a rave, without setting intentions or anything. It was one of the most profound and unraveling experiences of my life, and it completely changed me. The mushrooms showed me truths I had been ignoring about my relationship with my girlfriend and my new fatherhood.

  • I’ve been consuming Kratom for about 4 years now, and it wasn’t until about a year ago that I realized it had become a problem. Surprised it took that long to see it but I’m tired of the green sludge consuming ME and not being able to live my life without it. Can’t be at work for 8 hours without dosing upwards of 4 times, I can’t simply go to the store down the street without dosing beforehand. I’m addicted to the sludge, I belong to the sludge, and that is no longer a life I want to lead.

  • my trip was just like this. The come up was really aggressive, and I ended up projecting my inner child trauma on him and I cried the entire time. I stopped dissociating about 2 hours in and was hyper aware of myself for 8-9 hours. It was definitely the therapy session of a lifetime (dont do shrooms in lieu of therapy, its okay to need a little help). Definitely had a lot of random highs in the lows but I cried the entire time. Everything was so beautiful it made me sad. The come down was pure exhaustion though. It was soo long, I wish I knew trip killers were a thing, but it felt good to see myself different.

  • Once I made a tea with 10 grams of penis envy mushrooms that I grinded up and put in a makeshift tea bag. That was the hardest I’ve ever tripped in my whole life and I’ll never be able to explain with words what the experience was like. Edit: It was a HORRIBLE trip but it had beautiful visuals, it was very weird and scary.

  • 1st time for me was in 1972, picking ‘Liberty caps’ in the Auburn Valley in Washington state on the Smith Brothers Farm. A natural high that had me communicating with the local cows. They circled around me, heads pointed towards me & I had a soft spoken, non-threatening conversation with them. Finally one of the ranch hands came to boot me off the property, but said he’d never seen cows behave like that. I told him ya just gotta know how to speak COW. We both laughed out loud….good times.

  • 28:05 so interesting to hear you talk about this because it happens to me all the time and i’ve never taken drugs before. :O it happens a lot to me right after the alarm goes off in the morning and i know i need to get up. but if i lay there and start to go back to sleep, i’ll have these really bizarre looping mini-dreams where i feel myself getting out of bed and going into the bathroom to take a shower, then it repeats. so weird.

  • I stared taking mushrooms after perusal Psyched Substance at the beginning of the year . It started with a curiosity but seeing someone else (Adam) do it it gave me the sense and comfort that I could do it too; since I had been told stories from my mom (who was a nurse) about how bad they were and about some lady she had to take care of who went crazy from them . Mushrooms can be intense and scary at times for sure, but having trouble with anger, tourettes and also trouble with dealing with and understanding people ; I’ve now become more able to manage and deal with these things. I found most of the things had been from childhood events and realizing the people who had done wrong to me that I had always focused on the bad and not the fact of how my dad was the person who had actually been there to look out for me, even though at the time I was a kid I never realized it.

  • Amazing pupil control on shrooms… — nevery seen anyone with such a small dilation. And other thing — these chocolates should ALWAYS have huge ALERT written all over the package. Have heared stories that people might forget or mix up things and not very expected situations can appear without difficulty. Not much moral here, just random thoughts.

  • 3grams and im gonna lay there and die or not tea is the best for me considering the digestion discomfort and how fast it comes on vs just eating em…like 45min to an hr for eating and like 15-20min for the tea…far less of the worrisome come up quit tripping cuz my body fought it hardcore after many many trips over like 10-12 years…hours later i would be throwing up parts of mush that refused to digest…deathly cold with shakes and tremors that hurt ect

  • So true about strength, I had 1gm of Australia Gold Top’s. I’m VERY familiar with Psychedelics, but it had been a minute. Lemon Tekk’d it, and 20 min later….HOLY SHIT BALLZ…FULL PSYCHEDELIC FRONTIER BREAKTHROUGH LOL! LIke..the DMT entity’s came out to say hi, and play, BUT this was from Shrooms, that had NEVER happened for me before, except with DMT, and once or twice with Clearlight, long long ago ..was AMAZING, MIND BLOWING AND AWESOME, BUT, not for the feint of heart, or fragile of mind. <3 tyty 🙂
