To What Extent Is An Old Astrological Conjunction?

A conjunction in astrology occurs when two planets are within 8 degrees of each other, with the exact degree range varying slightly depending on the astrologer and the chart. The aspect of a conjunction describes two separate points in the solar system that unite and blend their energies together. These points are often planets such as Earth, Mars, or Jupiter, but can also be sextiles (60°), squares (90°), trine (120°), and opposition (180°).

The exact degree of a conjunction holds significance in astrology. Closer degrees often indicate stronger influences, while wider degrees may indicate less influence. For example, if the Sun is at 7 degrees and the Moon is at 13 degrees, the Sun will have more “authority” or power in this conjunction.

In astrology, the exact degree of a conjunction is not strictly treated as such, as it can vary slightly depending on the astrologer and the chart. However, if the planets that are conjunct have completely different energy, it can be considered a conjunction.

Aspects in astrology include the Conjunction (0°), Sextile (60°), Square (90°), Trine (120°), and Opposition (180°). Degrees in astrology are precise measurements within the 360-degree wheel of the zodiac, and each sign spans its own space of 30 degrees.

In summary, understanding and interpreting degrees in an astrological chart offers deeper insights into celestial influences and the relationship between planets.

What is the conjunction of degree?

Adverb clauses of degree or comparison are used to express how much, how little, or how many things are. They are often introduced using conjunctions such as as, as. as, so. as, and than. Examples include “she is older than her husband”, “she is as intelligent as she is beautiful”, “you are later than I expected”, “she is as pretty as a doll”, and “she is not so intelligent as her sister”.

Is a conjunction within 10 degrees?

The table provides data on Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions between 1200 CE and 2400 CE, showing similar longitudes every 60 years, with a slight forward drift. The series number progresses 1-2-3-4-5-6 through different series except for triplets. Series 2 and 5 have similar longitudes, as expected. Series 1 and 4 and series 3 and 6 have similar longitudes. The last columns show whether a conjunction is particularly close, easy to see, and if there is a group of three associated with an opposition.

A ‘?’ indicates the conjunction will be relatively easy to see at some latitudes, but not others. Triplet conjunctions are easy to see because they are visible in the middle of the night. After a triplet conjunction, the series moves to the evening (positive elongations), aligns with the Sun (decreasing values), and then to the morning sky (negative elongations) until again getting close enough to opposition to have a triplet conjunction.

The closest conjunctions occur in specific longitude ranges, and all conjunctions are within 1. 3 degrees. Triplets aren’t too common, with 54 single conjunctions and 7 triplets within the 1200-year interval.

Great conjunctions occur every 20 years when Jupiter overtakes Saturn in its orbit, making them the rarest of the conjunctions between naked-eye planets. Very close conjunctions occur less frequently, with separations of less than 10 arcminutes only happening four times since 1200, most recently in 2020.

Great conjunctions have attracted significant attention as omens in the past, with topics discussed by pre-scientific and transitional astronomer-astrologers, scholastic thinkers, and authors such as Dante, Lope de Vega, and Shakespeare. This interest in conjunctions can be traced back to translations of Arabic texts, particularly Albumasar’s book on conjunctions. A planetary conjunction is an event where two astronomical objects, such as asteroid, moons, planets, and stars, appear close together in the sky, as observed from Earth. This can occur when planets appear to occupy the same space in the night sky, even though they are millions of miles away. The distance between objects during a conjunction usually ranges from 0. 5 degrees to 9 degrees, with the last great conjunction occurring with Jupiter and Saturn in 2020.

  • I totally agree that people with 4+ conjunctions are better out of their homeland. And now that you have mentioned that Moon is important if Saturn is exalted it open a new perspective for me. I always get so emotionally without knowing why…now I can blame the moon 🙂 This is mine 4 planets conjunction. I’m Sagittarius, accented in Aquarius. Moon Libra 26°33’36 in house 8 direct Jupiter Libra 29°16’32 in house 8 direct Saturn Libra 18°24’53 in house 8 direct Pluto Libra 25°40’19 in house 8 direct

  • Hi, I’ve been following your website from past 3 years, and you’ve been awesome. Its so kind of you to share the bundle of knowledge and philosophy with masses out there, through YouTube. Hats off to your efforts! I do have a 4 planetary conjunction of Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Magha Nakshatra in Leo sign in 12th house. I love expressing my creativity.

  • 💜…Taurus Asc. with Mercury 1°, Moon 20°, Venus 21°, Sun 24° in Sagittarius. — Moon holds the lowest degree in the conjunction…But…Mercury holds the lowest degree in the house. I’m not exactly sure how to interpret this. KAPIEL, to answer your question – My Moon is at 20°… I’m a bit of a dichotomy. And yes I do feel my Moon is Powerful. On one hand, I’m very loving and nurturing – depth and emotional connection is a must in my close friendships and partnerships. I like to say, I LOVE To Love! 🥰 — I’m an artist as well as a mentor. On the other hand, I’m also an ENTJ Personality type, which accurately identifies that I can be incredibly practical and discerning, sometimes even to the point of having clear cut emotional detachment when a decision must be made. My Saturn isn’t at 20° though, but it’s in my 4th house conjunct Regulus exact. ✨🙏✨🌷💜🌷✨

  • I’m studying a friend’s chart. his fascinates me. he has a lot of conjunctions. his life’s a mess. lost it all. marriage,career,kid..he was in the military and now moved back. moved away again. I’m a lil confused tho. when u say homeland do u mean USA to another country or just moving to another state? great vid😆

  • Hi KRS i am a great fan of your articles. Especially your articles on Nakshatra really intrigued me and i started following your website. I was also introduced to your book Conjunction speed of light through one of my friend where i read about 4 planetary conjunction already. Hope you will reveal more. Though you just said in this article about confusion which holds true but i have also read that conjunctions can harness great energies – negative or positive – which you we all hope will reveal. For e.g. Amitabh Bacchan, Mick Jagger, Robert Redford and many more. Excited about your articles. Incidentally I also have 4 planetary conjuncton – Sun, Venus, Mars & Mercury in Leo in 11th house.

  • sun Sagittarius 9th House (27° 13′) Ascendant Aries 1st House cusp (15° 48′) Moon Leo 4th House (1° 23′) Mercury Sagittarius – 8th House (13° 51′) Venus Scorpio – 7th House (14° 3′) Mars Pisces – 12th House (16° 0′) Jupiter Pisces – 12th House (15° 43′) Saturn Sagittarius – 8th House (13° 57′) Uranus Sagittarius – 9th House (22° 51′) Neptune Capricorn 9th House (5° 13′) Pluto Scorpio – 7th House (9° 7′)

  • First the ascension & now 4 planetary conjunction. You don’t talk abt sign or Nakshatara or anything else bt your interpretation is so true abt every single thing pinpointed exactly. Thanks to your articles I got to know my life path what I need to do even though I’ve been little confused previously. Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Venus in Leo, Jupiter holds lowest degree (Magha Nakshatara, Mars in Purva Phalguni) Moon arnd 26 degrees. Yes I’m desperate to join Indian civil services still no luck though & want to work for social welfare. I find peace in Reiki & spirituality. Thanks a ton. Pls if possible open an Academy in India we need more of intellectuals like you. P.S. I procrastinate a lot I’m one hell of a lazy person.😅 I love you for all the gr8 work you’re doing. I hope I can meet u in person as well. You made my day. Namaste 🙂

  • my moon is at 20° in a 4 planetary conjunction and i definitely agree with what you said. i get many comments about my strong and disciplined personality and i feel as though i have a lot of mars energy. i can sense when my body generates energy quickly, which throws me off balance. working out is something that keeps my mind clear and that i enjoy. i also make a conscious effort to control my temper; i have an inclination towards using force – physically (mostly when i was younger) and verbally (in debates). people, especially my relatives, tend to think i’m angry when i’m not. the reason why i want to move out of the country is because i can’t connect to many aspects of this society; there’s not much depth and i value my privacy. this could also be because the conjunction includes saturn and is aspected by mars. have you done research on Out-Of-Bounds planets? my moon is OOB, as is my ruler uranus, which is in conjunction with my moon. what i’ve read about that makes sense to me as well.

  • Hi, I know this is an old post, but I am currently trying to dive deeper in Vedic astrology and I happen to have moon on 28th° of Taurus in 7th house together with Jupiter 29th°, and also mars 4th degree and Venus 14th degree in this very same house. I wish this position made people very aware of their goals, but this is not the case for me. I’m rather struggling. I shared this if this might be of any help with your research. Thank for your articles 🙂
