In Hindu astrology, Ketu represents both good and bad karmic collections, spirituality, and supernatural influences. It signifies the refinement of materialization to the spirit, which can be both malefic and benefic. Ketu is a karaka or indicator of intelligence, wisdom, non-attachment, fantasy, penetrating insight, derangement, and psychic abilities. It is believed to bring prosperity to the devotee’s family, remove the effects of snakebite and illness, and grant good health, wealth, and cattle to his devotees.

Ketu is the lord of three nakshatras or lunar mansions: Ashvini, Magha, and Mula. It is responsible for moksha, sannyasa, self-realization, gnana, a wavering nature, restlessness, the endocrine system, and slender physique. People under Ketu’s influence can achieve great heights, most of which are spiritual. Rahu, a karmic planet, shows the need to work on areas of life where there was ignorance in the past life. Ketu can emphasize every positive quality of the planet.

  • Ketu can destroy a person completely to make him spiritual…and I have been through this…my ketu mahadasha started at the age of 11 in 2006 and till 2012 everything was fine but I was a bit atheist who believe in only himself…but in 2013 I suffered the punishment from Ketu and it made me spiritual…believe it or not it happened to me…now I am completely different person…

  • Thank you. I was having a conversation with my daughter the other day. She is at the end of a Ketu period. And doing so much better. I told her that Ketu is entering my chart this month. She responded with, ” Oh mom. Just make sure you think about what you need to think about. Don’t overthink about what you don’t need to think about. And just stay balanced.” She knows nothing about vedic astrology. I know little. She also surprisingly transitioned from the “Im not spiritual” child to adopting all the pictures of dieties and hanging them in her room. She is a different person. Wonderful, helpful, and supportive article.

  • Coming to end of Shani (Maha dasha), Ketu bukti. Loss of brother. Much of my family have abandoned me, feel isolated, and I have been seeking to isolate myself. Feel estranged from majority of society. However, have felt completely detached from all this negative stuff. Meditation and Spiritual matters have helped massively. Ketu is in 12th from Gemini Lagna, and 9th from Moon. Very good article, KRS.

  • This is so profound I felt a paradigm shift in my mind… My Ketu is in Aquarius which is a very powerful place for me… I’m starting to see it so clearly now thanks to astrology ( the missing piece of my spiritual puzzle) I wish I had started studying it all sooner but this/you have opened my eyes to “see my spiritual path” so much more clearly thanks for all you do!

  • @Krschannel, I have already completed my Ketu dasha and now I’m working on completing my venus dasha. During this Ketu dasha i was given full knowledge to tackle and made my dream into reality but I realized Ketu also took away one of my life cherished person in my life, Ketu has ways to give the best things in life and Ketu also takes away something or someone in life to teach life lesson for life.

  • I moved to New York City around the beginning of my Ketu period, and was there for 5 out of 7 years of it. It was the most difficult time period of my life, but the most important spiritual turning point. I gained true devotion to the divine, as well as my life’s work. During this a new sense of ambition was stimulated and then any of that which was unhealthy and ego-based was burned away, painfully. It was a great time, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I also started doing meditation and disciplined spiritual practice during this time.

  • Effects of ketu mahadasha are highly intense. It’s just come in bang and your mindset changes to life . Ketu gives you strong lesson to understand that everything is temporary God is permanent . Destroy your ego .Mental depression, anxiety, slow progress, breakup, divorce etc Are negative effects of dasha Because ketu hate materialistic things .In order to keep ketu happy do charities, good karma, meditation. Do not do things for materialism just do for the name of God and for your parents you will succeed and go to pilgrimages and temples whenever possible . If it’s help you plz like 🙂

  • I am going through my Venus Mahadasha and Ketu Antardasha. My fiance and I broke up after 4 months since it started in January, we been in a relationship for about 2 years and I proposed her last December. My only obsession was her. Now I just listen to your articles before sleep just to have a clue or get an answer as to why things happen the way they do. Thanks brother, you are like a spiritual counselor.

  • You are correct, I was fond of non veg food and alcohol. We both hubby and wife were having non veg alternate days, alcohol I was having on regular basis. No idea this Feb 2021 something strange happened all of a sudden we stopped non veg completely. I threw 7 bottles of alcohol in dustbin. No idea why we took that decision but it showed us the path towards spiritualism. Life changed after that dramatically and my goals for life changed. 🙏🙏🙏

  • This is one of the best of the best article Raj! I was like yes…. this is what happening to me! I ate chicken all my life and grew up in costal part of India. And here I’m all of sudden… there is a different urge, don’t feel like anything with chicken. I cook for kids, hubby, I buy from fast food for kids but I don’t feel like eating it at all! If I’m too hungry and if I take a bite, I just feel like throwing up! I have been listening more spiritual stuff, there is this quest to know more. I got separated from many things like my job, city, many changes but ultimately everything for my highest good. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge in such passionate and interesting way! I got astrological consultation from you, almost 2 years back when I started my ketu dasha!

  • Man, Kapiel, I gotta say something. Till February 2018, I though that Astrology was Hogwash (sorry if my language offends you, but I am being straightforward). Then one day, on Youtube, (now that was a time period which wasn’t particularly pleasantr for me.) I came across this article describing Venus in Bharani Nakshatra. I clicked on the article by MISTAKE (I was looking in a different direction from the phone. Wanted to click home button but ended up clicking the article). And man, you just described my mom (she’s in healthcare) and several of my personal characteristics! I never thought THIS would happen and guess what: I was going through my Ketu Mahadasha! Then, I watched a few more articles uploaded by you, such as rahu in 1st/ketu in 7th (agreed it was long, but, I just got hooked hard!) and boy, you described me! From then onwards, I learnt from your website how to make a birthchart and interpret signs and houses. And today, I am an astrology enthusiast! With eacvh article of yours, I am learning how much effect astrology has on our life…and I kinda got even more motivated to seek my actual path and how to work at it. Thank you Kapiel for changing my life!

  • Thanks a lot, you have make me more strong in kethu dasha, today I am nothing means no money, no relative support, my father died on 6 may, who support me all the way. But now I can believe in God completely. Thank you very much all the blessing to you from my heart. I can understand that the knowledge you are sharing that show that you have done lot of hard work!!!!!!1

  • Action is important but more important is desire/reason/purpose behind that action. 1) Mahakali trying to kill rakhtbeej asur, but after killing that because boon given to asur multiply according to their blood on earth and asur army was created and so on . then she start drinking blood of that asur. After drinking all blood of that asur she was mad with blood lust(like vampire), and start killing innocent also and enjoying and dancing. To stop that innocent killing lord Shiva come to picture and when Kali stepped on Shiva and soon She realized her mistake. From above story we can make summary that also if mahakali can’t control her self after drinking blood, its too much tough for human to control them self after eating body parts of animals(it also contain blood and many other things). 2) In bhagwad geeta lord krishna has relieved all secret, but human been digest things according to their hungriness and mindset.

  • Wonderful and heartfelt presentation of Ketu, Kapiel. one of your best. BTW, it is praarabdha karma that is totally unpredictable that one cannot do anything about (eg being born in good or bad circumstances). Sanchita karama is the total stored karmas from past lives. Agaami karma is the fresh karma that you keep accumulating through your actions.

  • Omg, your thinking and speech brought tears to my eyes, s realization. Felt like you are saying all these things to me and enlightening me with your pious knowledge. Whenever i see stray animals in India from inside i always pray for them to God, to bless them and give them food so that they don’t have to suffer from mean humans. I like that concept of garlic and masala, you are indeed right to feel the happiness immensely one must have to go through immense pain. Thank you brother for everything you do for us. Thank you Guru Ji 🙏 love from India.

  • No. No. You haven’t taken up too much of my time. It’s been a pleasure and well worth it. You are here right on the money with my circumstantial with respect to Rahu Mahadasha. I am taking notes and studying Rahu and Ketu. I highly recommend you for astrological consultations. Your work reflects you as both competent and qualified. Thank you for thee teaching.

  • This is your best article – can’t agree more that our ultimate goal is to get closer to GOD (Generator Organiser Destroyer). I am so happy to find this article, it cleared most of my doubts about so many things, especially about planets that are here to show us the true power of God. Life is definitely not a punishment. It’s a journey of realisation about the things that are keeping us away from God. It’s a journey of purification and cleansing ourselves to get closer to God. Every word you said is true.. very true.

  • I don’t understand why people keep thrashing our guru kapiel . One has the right to live the way they want considering that they don’t hurt people . I have seen hard core vegan having fickle minded and people eating meat, boozing having a golden heart. It’s kindness and emphaty that matters not having a clean slate of character. M practicing vegan diet nd i dont drink or smoke but I don’t go around thrashing my non veg diet friends and family. Kapiel sir is such a rare and wonderful soul and we should respect him for the precious knowledge he is sharing with us.❤

  • Absolutely! You are the person i like the most. your knowledge about astrology is amazing. Last four months i realized i am in spiritual path. I didn’t even understand what was going on to me,but then spiritual knowledge come to me automatically. Now i am getting astrological knowledge and my understanding about astrology is so deep and easy. I am feel like master of astrology😎. Because my ketu in 8th house and rahu in 2nd for scorpio ascendant. From astrological knowledge i understand whats happening to me.I feel i can use my spiritual power to material world and can maintain balance between spiritual and material life😃.Thank you very much for your guidance.

  • I has ketu and Saturn conjunction in the 3rd house as Gemini ascendant. I gone through very tough times in all areas of my childhood, specially in school. The experiences just haunts me till now. I was living in ego dispite knowing “I’m not this kind of person actually”. Few months ago I gone through spiritual awakening where I was questioning why I experienced such events and encountered specific people. I was isolated myself in the house to know myself, universe gave me free time to explore myself. I’m thankful for that. I started to do yoga and engaged in meditations. Than I realised it was Saturn retrograde in 9th house. Now I’m moving in other city for higher studying 😅😂

  • When I’m listening to you i forget that you’re using English, i hear as if it’s in my native tongue 😄 Sometimes i feel like I’m perusal myself in your articles. I’m learning much from you and trying to integrate Vedic astrology in my life so thank you so much 🙏 I have Saturn Ketu conjunction in my first house in Scorpio and Moon is in Moola, so i cannot think a life without spirituality ☺️🌸

  • Its not a question of meat being pure or not pure, that is such a selfish viewpoint. You can have all the philosophy you want but if you can’t kill the animal yourself than you cannot agree that it is a compassionate act. Yes definitely since we cannot see past lives we are not able to discern if its “their karma”., who are we to judge.. It is just not necessary to eat meat, the desire for that is the a demon’s wish. Chickens are feeling animals also and are generally terribly abused in their short tortured lives.

  • I very seen many articles of yours but this one is your best…..it seems you have a good connection with ketu. . . And that’s the reason your understanding of astrolgy is so deeper. You are learning every day and I could feel that. I have received so much from you and I think I will meet you once to show you gratitude. Whenever I meet pandit Sanjay Rath I speak about you. And I am so glad to see the interview of both. It was truly special when you both discussed. Thanks for your good and consistent work

  • very cool article. Thank you. i mentioned another time that i had a similar experience with red meat. I had a vision of my mother and then of a cow as if she was telling me that the cow was my guardian – and in my spiritual practice I do not eat my guardian animal. Thank you for this most important article and teaching.

  • I wish I would had known this in my ketu period. exactely with ketu I came back to my home country, I started my hedge fund and was positioned to make a killing – Ketu took it all away although I was right. Ketu definitely isolated me I read plenty of books and studied many spiritual paths I actually was talking to god – I had an heart attack . I spend plenty time with dogs. As Ketu ended I returned to the big city

  • Brilliant Kapiel I agree 108% 13 minutes in on “divorce” – Perfectly correct! So simple!(Sooooo many people mis-understand & distorte & confuse & exaggerate the function & purpose & outcomes of the Nodes-Rahu/Ketu on a typical dogmatic explaination & understanding) I have deeply studied & meditated on the “Nodes” – God reveals mean & knowledge to me during meditation & my long studies of Jyotish. Then it gets confirmed when I hear 👂🏼 the confirmations. (My rasi lugna Swati @16* & Ketu Swati coruled by Rahu &&& Rahu Aswini in 7th co ruled by Ketu) I constantly think about cause/effect & Dharma-1st/Kama-2nd … mars/jupiter mahadasa cycle started oct23 … my d9 Ketu capricorn 12th & Rahu cancer 6th moon 1st Aqu (Ashwini+Magha+Mula

  • I don’t know why is this happening to me since i have discovered this website I came to know about Rahu and ketu. And now my concepts about astrology are becoming more clear but the twist is that why I’m i seeing things representing Ketu in this 3d world. Like i saw K2 written on stationary shop. Then since months my mother was not cooking onion and garlic but since 2 days we are cooking. I mean why ?????????? Since sir told everything about Rahu ketu that people tend to go for isolation and all and here I’m crying for that isolation in (healthy way). Like literally i was crying few days to find that solitude and i really want yo move forward on spiritual journey. Since 2k16 I’m practicing spiritual but the way right now I’m feeling an urge to seek more knowledge and everything is on another level. Thank you so much Sir for making this website and giving us this quality content. 🧡💛💚

  • Wow! I only yesterday explained to my sister about our memory with hard drive as a metaphor. It’s stunning because I never heard anyone talk about it before and then you say exactly that. Stunning for me. I discovered your articles and have been perusal it for about 2 weeks. It’s really helped me learn. I would like to do a personal consultation with you regarding my lagna.

  • I wasn’t aware during the time it happened, but I ended up suffering a great injury to one of my legs while dancing during ketu’s activity in the sky (few months ago if i’m not mistaken October 25, 2022) i’m glad to be making spirituality a priority in my life because divinity speaks. I should atleast listen to what ‘s happening

  • The word SPIRITUALITY derived from “Spirit”…What is Spirit?? How it’s formed??? Where does the Spirit exist??? Simple yet powerful explanation “A Force that animates LIVING BEINGS”…Hence, giving importance to Spirituality means giving importance to all LIVING BEINGS, including plants…It’s ok to eat Leaves/Fruits produced by plants or trees because we are not Killing it actually, because the Tree or Plant has the capacity to produce them once again…Similar like Milk, we don’t kill an animal to get it, and it can be reproduced…The act of Sin is completely Nullified here…If we cut down a plant or tree, than we aren’t actually giving the importance to the SPIRIT of a Plant/Tree, thus Sin is Committed… Spirituality is just a simple concept…We are the one that make it to look complicated…However, Following the Path of Spirituality is not that easy by just understanding it…The Reason is, when we are giving importance to all Spirits, Matter need to be sacrificed…Which is very difficult in these days…One has to be really devoted and dedicated to follow this Path, to attain the Eternal Bliss/Happiness, Liberating from the Temporary Joy/Life, which actually gives more pain, if we analyze properly…

  • I m Leo moonsign with ketu in magha nakshatra. Ketu gives so much knowledge . I like multicolour, rainbows and never knew ketu is multicolour. As I am being more spiritual I could see things that are going to happen. I see lots of events, deities, gurus appearing just a flash and few weeks later I visit those temples or see those events..its like dejavu..

  • Thanks a heap! for making this article on Ketu. I have heard people say that Ketu represents spirituality. I had no idea the depth of Ketu and importance of Ketu until now. There’s just a ton of information presented in such short time. I do like the part where you say, without Ketu there would no moral standards. This couldn’t be further from the truth. especially in the current state of world affairs.

  • Sir, I listen continuously to you because the way you make us undestand in a simplistic way i really salute for that. I am the gifted face reader and serve some celebrity in India but you really helped me to clear some doubts so thank you from my heart. One day i pray that i meet you personally like a Sonu NIGAM SIR.

  • My husband is going through a ketu period right now in his 40’s. He wants more, thinks he can do more, and gain more IF HE COULD JUST CUT OFF THE THINGS THAT ARE HOLDING HIM BACK. (his words not mine). I’m like does that even make sense, really!? 🙄 He’s trying to cut off his ketu so his Rahu can be free. 😂 thanks for the analogy.

  • Your experience abaout your feel when you eat the goad…same thing was happened to me last 17th years back sir…i know exactly how you feel…from last 17th years till now i never eat red meat again and i am thanks God for gave me that experience so i have more emphatic for such lovely animals…and it really make me feel better in deep of my hearth..

  • Live life to best of your knowledge and capabilities. Yes, have a balance. You don’t necessarily have to follow the herd. Your time spans in life will lead you through your own changes. Don’t force people to do something against their will. Becoming a vegetarian doesn’t make you pure either. Each their own evolution if not in this lifetime, perhaps in another. This is what he basically means and I agree with him.

  • One thing I want to say. I might be wrong. Ketu is most beneficial planet. In Astrology. Ketu represents mastery. Lord Ganesha ji represents ketu. How could it be malefic?? It’s actually a bhoga karaka planet. Think why. In order to get bhog we have to do something. Whether you are selling something, creating something. Any work you are performing. We need mastery over it. Without it we can’t accomplish anything. We can’t get our bhog. Ketu gives wealth. But we always want material wealth. Its actually nothing. Ketu gives us a wealth that is beyond money. Our soul and body is the highest and most advanced technology in the entire universe. Ketu gives that power to get mastery over our body. It’s makes us iccha briksha. We can have what we desire with a very little effort. Ketu can make us what we want. If we want to be the president of earth? Ketu can make us. I believe. Ketu doesn’t relay on five senses. It takes us to our ultimate senses. We can sit in a corner, with close eyes we can see the entire earth, each and every person, what they are doing. Ketu is infinite sense. But we have to achieve that mastery over our body and mind and senses. Attachment is good. But only problem with attachment is our entire focus got stuck into this matter. Ketu want us to tap that potential that we all have within our body. That is the main difficult part. Going beyond that first level. And yes it’s risky too. If you can’t handle when energies start to evolve within. If we can’t handle it properly.

  • thx for your insights on your life Journey & astrology talent! i love listening to you. Ketu interests me as it’s in my 7th house it keeps cutting my attachments my whole Life. it keeps driving me within myself but it also asks me to find balance with material side of Life as i tried renouncing everything & live as a sanyasi in an ashram but Life kicked me out after 8 months bac to society. i am vegetarian since 2010, but i stil have this desire oof being abundantwhile doing humanitarian work….my darkest times were during Rahu dasha itwas such a confusing time of my Life now it’s Jupiter so i keep studying spirituality & ayurveda, yoga. Blessings OM

  • Kapiel, So, if we maintain this balance of work and prayer during ketu Mahadasha, will it reduce the ill effects of Ketu during the Ketu Mahadasha if any ? I know some one who is going through a Ketu mahadasha, who has changed his beliefs, has made a mandir, prays day and night, yet he sees no results. He trys very hard yet has so many obstacles. I have emailed you numerous times and have even ordered a chart from you of this person back in 2014. I cant understand exactly what it is. Do you do consults?

  • Ra Dasha, Jupiter up next (What a chapter …can’t tell difference in Ra and Ke, Confusion and Losses, the earned through work and People transitioning to non-physical, by far the most hurtful. Be in the Now, Conscious Thought + apply Higher-Mind, and KNOW – the “Law of Attraction” trumps everything and it is Absolute, we are creating all of this reality. God answers as soon as we ask in desire, we must reach the matching frequency. Anything we can conceive we can receive. Master the Self and Live in the Now + Higher-Mind and using “LOA” From there it is another up. 😘 balanced self-love and knowing worthiness. Now you are OK.

  • I have Ketu conjunct Sun in Leo in the 1st house, Mercury in Virgo in 2nd. Moon in Taurus conj. Jupiter. I love food and I am Vegan. Animals are not food, it’s as simple as that for me. I was born and still live in Europe, but I love Indian food very much 🙂 We live in day and age where Vegan food can be very tasty (and healthy – I like that combo 😉 ). I don’t care if it’s “right” or “not right” to eat meat, I just know I don’t want any part of it if there is such a simple solution for nourishment. If I wouldn’t eat my dogs, why would I eat a pig/cow/lamb/fish… I don’t care about the possible bad Karma of that soul, even if I knew 100% that the animal was a murderer/rapist in a past life, I still wouldn’t eat it. Those things are only convenient excuses. I think everyone knows what’s right or not (at least deep inside) but because of their ego and acquired taste for meat, they chose to ignore that because change is hard. They choose to brush that bad/guilty feeling off until they forget it ever existed, if it reappears, just repeat the brushing off.

  • Recipe My favorite meat is Veal, talk about Guilt… (To achieve the flavor of Veal mix equal to 2/3 parts ground beef or broth and equal or 1/3 parts ground turkey or chicken broth) When making Osso Gucci Soup – make small meatballs with onion, garlic, graded finely carrot and celery, bread crumbs, Parmesian cheese, sea salt, fresh ground pepper, and a beaten egg – roll in small balls and drop in medium boiling broth (sliced carrots, celery, onion, parsley, chopped tomato, and seasoning already in broth) Low boil 3 minutes, then cover and simmer 20 minutes. Bring to light boil again and add Whole Wheat, gluten free noodles – half box or bag to 8 cups of broth. Return to light boil until al-dente’ (Do not over-cook the pasta!) Serve with a chilled lettuce and tomato salad, cucumber sandwiches, and serve soup in dinner bowl with fresh Parmesan graded on top and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Italian bread and olive oil with basil and garlic, Iced Tea and Key-Lime Pie for dessert. If anyone wants details – reply. Enjoy this dinner, meat may be replaced with Portabella Mushrooms.

  • 😂 wow it’s great to know that I wasn’t the only one going through the no meat policy. I had same story. Spiritual awakening then I couldn’t eat any meat for a while. No scary stories, my body just felt disgusted after eating meat. being a vegetarian is a problem in social groups. I started eating a little bit of meat 🍖 🥩 because my environment and I could only nibble at it and before I ate it I gave thanks too. Lol. A year later and I still feel bad for nibbling on any red meat or chicken.

  • ha ha ha That’s just incredible with the goat curry, i went through the same thing, wait for the Rahu Anthardasha and pratyantardhasa’s, that same baby goat meat and the few bites of it will give you a calm, peaceful and serene, almost like 3rd eye opening kinda feeling, your whole body just gets relaxed, this feeling is so hard to put it in to words. Anyways, meat eating will never be the same again, you will be conscious and pray for the animal before you eat, and eating meat will gradually lower down, you nailed it in explanation.

  • Ketu in 6th in Shravana, conjunct with Sun less then half a degree apart. Ketu has lower degrees. Ketu dasha was so painful I am surprised I didn’t kill my self. I believe if I got the right support during this dasha, I could have been a possible professional athlete.I had two nightmares in my ketu dasha, where a shadow in a dark room picked me up by the neck while whispering to me.

  • Ketu 2 house here and Rahu Moon 8 House. During Ketu ~ Rahu major accident happened on my toe, still in pain after a year and numb. Then My mom died, i lost Money, soon homeless, heavy Depression, turned into a heavy smoker. Before Ketu ~ Rahu i was very into health and sports altough Ketu gave me challenges, i standed them like a champ, but Ketu ~ Rahu destroyed me. Ketu ~ Venus was the best time in my life, 10k in my savings, lovely relationship, but i suffered from skin rashes where my face itched like a motherfucker and made me look like a monster. Now im in Ketu Jupiter… everything is fucked up. I listen Mantras every day, Mah Mritunjaya, om Namah Shivaya, Lakshmi, Navgraha Mantra, Mahakali for enemies… it helps! But life still hurts

  • ✡ Star David in Judaism and Shri Durga Yantra in Hinduism is combination of our past life Karma stored in 1-5-9 all the ketu houses .We get prize or punishment through 3-7-11 houses all the Rahu houses.I request all to store good karma in their Dharam Tricone 1-5-9 to enjoy a good life stored in 3-7-11 houses.

  • What means if Ketu sits in 9house, is there struggling with fortune, guru, religion, knowledge or does it change it somehow? You said it so nicely that asrology is the bridge to start practising real spiritual life, i know many in west are thinking mutulal intresting towards spirituality means they come spiritual, astrology helps then to understand this material world and it elements and how Karma keeps us here to looking for enjoyment . I am devotee of Sri Krishna and i like milk products so i’m not fully vegan 😅 Krishna is protector of brahmins and cows, boys and girls, we need to establish better culture where people value bramins, those how have absolute knowledge of universal principles of material energy, soul and supersoul (Visnu expanding in hearts of the each living entities)

  • As always, great insight into the astrology. Strongly disagree with some of the stuff about eating meat, though. Common sense and compassion point to avoiding the killing of animals to satisfy our tongue. Great souls or avatars may be able to see someone’s Karma and act accordingly, but the average person is not on that level. Extremeism isn’t protesting against animal cruelty, but I would say slashing a throat and the consequent bloody mess because I like the taste, is. Chanakya Pandit is quoted as saying – “The earth is encumbered with the weight of the flesh-eaters, wine-bibblers, dolts (dull and stupid) and blockheads, who are beasts in the form of men.” And what wise man would argue against that? Good that you’re trying to stop, and that you don’t eat cows, though.

  • kapil how you ever practiced Vipassana meditation?…………………….whatever you telling here is all get experienced by that. you realize what you are and how to separate out from body and materialistic thing. if you haven’t i would like to recommend that . As you already has astro experience .I think you can get new idea to relate past, present life, karma and astro.

  • Dear brother, make an article on what Astrology and Vedas say about food, what God and Goddess use to eat, how come Rishi eats human meat and killed him saying Vathapi jeernobhava, he saved many people by killed by his brother, I think it’s a very tough thing to decide as 90%+ people on earth eats nonveg, even Budda followers, please make an vedio it will be very interesting. Thank you

  • !?..OK..wow..I was lucky enough to believe Yoganada (Lahiri/Babaji)..in the Autobiography of a Yogi..disregarding any of your arguments about the effects of Ahimsa and its role in affecting ones ability to attain enlightenment.. meat carbonates the blood to such an extent that the heart and lungs have to work twice as hard..thus making it impossible to attain Seva Culpa samadhi.. much less Nirva Culpa.. sure you really want to influence your listeners this way?..Yuketwar said intelligence is a double edge sword..you are obviously a genius.. and that’s a very sharp sword you’re holding there.

  • Kapiel (am I spelling it correct?), I have been perusal your articles and am like binge-watching them since last 3-4 weeks but in this article, you have made a killing (err, in a vegan way, really). 🙂 The point, am trying to make is, you have demonstrated in this particular article that how Jyotish is really a science and art of living wherein one gets to see “in”, “out” and “beyond” the self. You did that by sharing your personal experience without any ado or baggage or pompousness. I think, I did not make any mistake in sending you an email earlier to enquire if you could do my Birth Time rectification so I could really use some helpful hints that Vedic Astrology has to offer, in my quest for divine realization. (Oh, I know, you are busy like anything but I know, you will respond to my email). Am a numerologist, graphologist and learning Vedic Astrology at the cost of losing some time from the technology innovations that are so crucial to be aware of in my line of work. Thank you for posting the article. Keep up your good work. And, it’s not much of a big deal but yours will be the first website I have ever subscribed to. Go man!

  • Nice of you man, the same situation faced n stopped NV. I am purely Vegetarian from my birth. In the middle after getting married l ate few years NV, the same experience I too faced and stopper NV. Chicken 🐔 my experience. Best to have vegetarian food dear. Everyone should learn from their own experience. I liked ur article

  • My Ketu is in Aquarius in 11H & i must admit that i feel the separation from my Aquarius father figure who was very distant emotionally and i also feel separation from opp. sex when they are supposed to be close to me. I dont feel i will ever find a male that i can trust completely or have a loyal true relationship with them. I have been single & celibate for years bc of this heartbreak & dont feel like i want to ever experience that pain again. Can u explain my Ketu in better terms? 7-25-21

  • Kapiel…needless to say that you are doing an amazing job propagating this science and enlightening all of us in this digital world. Now,honestly…the way you went about pronouncing the name of the yuga’s left a bitter taste personally. Though you are settled in a western world, your origin was in India and you should be the harbinger in teaching the right pronunciation of vedic words in the right way with a neutral accent which will help others and you in return too, remember PT speaks about ‘centering’ first before any other step at all towards reaching higher states. I wish you well, hence thought of pointing this long lingering ‘mispronunciation’ bitter bites in your well cooked articles…I hope you will take it in the right spirit:)

  • Thank you so much for your time. Appreciate your thought and story what it meant to you when eating meat I have been subscribed to you forever now and now I see S*** getting real!hahaha I am not a astrologer but enjoy your articles.Thank you for your knowledge and blessings to you and your family this year! 🙂

  • Hello Sir!. Learned a lot from this and the Rahu article. Great respect for your knowledge and insight. You say create a balance. But the ultimate aim for any soul on Earth is to reach God to attain moksh. If we create a balance how will we attain moksh. To attian moksh we have to get rid of all moh maya take control of our mind and senses and perform all our deeds for God only(as Lord Krishna says in Bhagwad Gita). Yes we are not to take sanyas and leave eveyting but If we create a balance and don’t let go of the onion and garlic and the meat in our lives how will be able to detach ourselves from all this and go to Him be united with Him?

  • Hey! I think your articles are great, but we have the same Jyotish Guru and are friends and so I want to add some commentary. You are an amazing Jyotishi and I’m so happy that we have the same Guru. I’m also happy to hear that you are not eating red meat. The reason you don’t want to eat cow meat is because that’s literally how Kali Yuga got started. Science and Shastra both say that it is bad for you to eat meat filled with fear in Kali Yuga. I really hope your journey with your diet continues to improve. Also, the word belief is an Abrahamic way of distracting from direct realization from the Vedas. If you read Bhagavat Purana it expands that Bhagavan does not like it in Kali Yuga for people to sacrifice animals. When they do this, they still receive karmic reactions. All of this is in the 5th Canto of Bhagavata Purana. These narrations happen based on time, place, and who’s present to experience them. When horse sacrifices used to be done the animal would receive a new body, but since this really is Kali Yuga it’s not the same. Anyone with common sense can see that animal slaughter is not dharmic because Mother Bhumi is creating global warming which is a direct response from the Devas and we reap the karmic negatives from us not using our intelligence as a collective to be more sattvic. So craving meat and all of that is connected to neglecting the yuga dharma. Love all your articles, but it’s important to have perspectives like mine because Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita for a reason.

  • hi, thanks very much for the article. Can you answer one thing: I sometimes wonder why this is happening after all? Why god created us all. The story of Vishnu which says that once god thought of becoming many from one and then one from many seems incomplete. After all what motivates god to do so. As Guru Gobind singh illustrated god’s characteristics in Jaap sahib that it is “AKARMAN ADHARAMAN” i.e. without karma without dharma. What is the secret?

  • Does a strong ketu means more difficulty detaching (due to more attachment) or the opposite? Why I make this claim is because the original ruler of Ketu is Scorpio and the very energy of the 8th house and Scorpio is difficulty letting go (clinging on) and that is overdue and needs to be released by the soul in terms of karma (karma is bondage due to attachment). Based on my personal belief, Ketu is exalted in Pisces and Pisces is a karmic sign too as mentioned above (sign of the 12th house). But I’m not sure what is the difference in terms of karma between the 8th and 12th house.

  • In my Navasma, Ketu is situated 12 houses from the planet with the highest degree, my Atmakarka, Jupiter. So in my Karakamsa Lagna, Jupiter is my Atmakarka in the first house of Pisces, with Ketu 12 from Jupiter in the 12th house of Aquarius. See you in Moksha bitches. Add the fact in my Lagna Jupiter is my 8th Lord in the 8th house.

  • I know you have said lots about ketu here. But can you please elaborate more on Ketu Laguna in gemni. I really what to know about the past like aspect which Ketu brings. How the person behaves? How will she overcome nightmare that she gets each night and wake up distributed? What could be solution or will it wear off on its own?

  • When it comes to meat, I have felt discomfort even looking at it since I was born. Fortunately, I was born and grown up in a vegetarian family who has never cooked meat or brought it in the house. If my friend next to is eating meat, I don’t look at her plate so much. I love animals and love them the same way as humans (as my fellow beings living on the same planet), but meat has always given me discomfort. Perhaps, I am an empath who feels too much of their sufferings. I understand that they are paying for their karma and you became a medium to make them free from their karma, but you keep creating karmic account if you keep repeating the same deed. Mercy is divine deed that can forgive as well!

  • The dasha calculators say I won’t experience ketu mahadasha until I’m in my 90s. What does it mean karmically if I never live to experience it? I did go through rahu mahadasha until 2021. (According to the calculators.) My chart is interesting/challenging(?) with a stellium of 4 planets in the 12th house. Sun,mars, venus, mercury all pisces/meena. Maybe the calculations are wrong, I’m new to this.

  • I’m going to enter Ketu Mahadasha in 2019. I’m currently running Mercury-Saturn. I’m a Gemini Ascendant with Ketu in Aries in D1 and Ketu in Scorpio in D9. Mars is in detriment in the 12H in D1 and debilitated in the 7H in D9. I’m strongly involved with the occult, just quit my job in South America and relocated to the US along my Venus lines. Kind of wondering what Ketu dasha will bring me.

  • My nakshatra falls under Ketu rule. Detachment and suffering irrespective of being good or do not unto others philosophy has a dual nature of showing, rather compelling to look beyond the conventional unseen realms of nature and universe. Yes non vegan food may not interest you as you grow with inner strength or will power. Will make you refrain or sacrifice anything that doesn’t feel right. That is also detachment of a kind making you aware of your ability to grow in a spiritual sense. Especially if you are under Ketu nakshatra you might have strong feeling of a meaningless pursuit and difficulty after seeing life merely as a gift for petty gratification and rather an exercise and obligation to do right by for a higher purpose of being born for. Madness and chaos in world will bother you.

  • Greetings sir I have K2 in my first house along with my ascendant sign that is in Capricorn and I can tell you that I am extremely anxious about my upcoming k2 mahadasha which is going to be next year; I know that I will be assessed in many ways but I’m assured that this dasha will eventually lead me to the path of spirituality.

  • Don be self conscious about making healthy conscious choices, I know activists have a bad name but if you truly cared for peace, you wouldn’t care how crazy you come across to people. The middle ground of peace has been stretched so far to the extreme that you no longer recognize it as such. You must balance life by chasing your passion and serving God but there is no reason your passion should ever come in between God and if it does, you gotta reconsider how you express that passion. You can be whatever you want and also not unnecessarily take life. The two are not mutually exclusive. You must be more creative in how you achieve this

  • Its a good thing not judging what to eat. However, there is no point in praying and then eating non veg. Food. Its the same as slapping someone everytimr and then saying sorry everytime. You are trying to save your self from the guilt of being reason for killing of that chiken, not for the peace of them. So either you freely enjoy white meat without praying or you leave it without eating. There is no logical spiritual emotional point/sense in doing both together.

  • WOW!!! Did not think of that, to know God we can’t rely on our senses, memories & body. Thank you for that clarification. Too many people saying we must know our past lives, don’t get it, is that not the past? How does a person live in the moment & enjoy life if you’re not just worried about this life now you should also deal with past life?. Why would the memory be erased at birth if it’s so significant.

  • Ketu wants to give anything. But first he wants only thing, first learn the whole place, where we exist. Like our body, senses, space, and who and how its created. Then go and concur the world. Without it, ketu says how can you explore the world, without using map, gps, vehicle. We all will miserably fall. We all have highest of technology. But without knowing what it is, and how to use it. it’s truly useless.

  • Don’t you think its more about amorality, going beyond the concept of morality and immorality. Dettachment from the three dimesnion world, and as you put- from body, mind and emotions. (I will also say feelings, I think emotions and feelings are two things). In bigger perspective it says go beyond the materialism, don’t let the enchantress maya(rahu?!) tangle you in this world. This dettached view of this world(ketu) can also help in achieving a kind of mastery over the three dimensions existence of ours and helps us in catapult towards our higher selves. Be imbibed in it but dettached from it(balance rahu and ketu?). If you follow their lead(offcourse after achieving the balance), then your materialistic requirement(whatever little desires are left) will be taken care of. As you put, planets wants us to leave this life in a manner, if we go otherwise we might face the brunt. Having said all this, ones you realize you are more then your thoughts, that there is a bigger reality to your existence. When you become a seeker, planetary influences in your life diminishes, if not totally vanished.

  • Rebazar Tazs a great eckankar living master was once denied fire to cook his meat. But he call sun to cook his meat. He still living in Hindu Kush mountain.God realized Master who enter higher god realm. He been living 300 year old. But when you enter mental plane the cosmic world want us to descipline our soul so that we could enter next level that what soul plane. where could separate from physical nature to earn god true love. When you eat meat find your self hatred more that unconditional love for god. We shall not take life of creature for hunger grave there are more food to eat to please lord. Now the great master go deep samathi for 40 day after the 40 day he only consume a hand of rice and tea.
