Morehouse College, an NCAA Division II school, competes in various sports, including football, basketball, cross country, football, golf, tennis, and track and field. The Maroon Tigers, mascot of the college, are known for their maroon and white colors, with black and gray as secondary colors. The college’s official visual identity colors are maroon (PMS 202) and white, with the secondary colors being lighter.
Morehouse College’s sports chaplain, A. Van Smith, is known as Uncle Van, who can be seen roaming the team’s sideline during games. The college’s signature colors and the Maroon Tiger mascot are featured on the Nike Terminator High shoes, which spell out “MORE HOUSE” in the school’s font.
Terance Mathis has been appointed as the new head coach of the Maroon Tigers football team, a former NFL star and accomplished coach. The Maroon Tigers have won numerous victories, including division titles in football, track and field, tennis, cross country, baseball, as well as individual titles.
Morehouse College is a founding member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and home of eight sponsored sports for the only HBCU dedicated to Black male excellence. The college’s alumni chapter is sponsoring Alumni and Greek Day, where they invite fans to grab their Maroon Tiger gear and letters.
