As a resident of eastern North Carolina, I can tell you that generators are being bought (or in some cases, donated) for people in the western part of the state. I assume they would be airlifted there, considering the condition of the roadways right now. Asheville (the largest city in the mountains) is completely cut off from the outside world, as most roads are (as Ana mentioned) badly damaged or have completely been washed away. Considering Trump’s disastrous response to Puerto Rico’s hurricane hit a few years ago, I thank God he is not president right now and hope he does not get reelected. he clearly knows nothing about how to help any people other than himself or corporate elites.
