Sidereal astrology is a branch of astrology that focuses on the position of planets, stars, and other celestial bodies in relation to distant fixed stars. It differs from tropical astrology, which is based on the precession of the equinoxes. Sidereal astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, an energy mandala oriented to the fixed stars, rather than a literal map of modern constellations. Astrologers use twelve zodiac signs, each with unique characteristics and traits, to understand an individual’s Karma and soul nature, predict events, and prescribe remedies.
Sidereal astrologers use a system based on the position of the Sun in relation to fixed stars, dividing the ecliptic into twelve equal segments, each representing a zodiac sign. They maintain the alignment between signs and constellations via corrective systems known as ayanamsasayanamsas. Sidereal astrology also accounts for the Earth’s axial precession and maintains the alignment between signs and constellations via corrective systems known as ayanamsas.
The sidereal system adjusts sign boundaries to match their actual sizes in the sky. Most sidereal systems use thirty-degree zodiac signs, which are considered more accurate than tropical measurement. Vedic astrology, which has used sidereal for its entire tradition, has eclectic meanings for its signs.
In summary, sidereal astrology is a branch of astrology that focuses on the position of planets, stars, and other celestial bodies in relation to distant fixed stars. It uses the sidereal zodiac model and the sidereal zodiac sign model to observe celestial bodies and their movements.

What is the difference between sidereal and true sidereal?
The Sidereal Zodiac, used by Vedic Astrologers, uses 12 Zodiac signs and a 30º slice of the 360º chart, while the True Sidereal Zodiac uses 13 Zodiac signs and honors the actual sizes of the constellations in our sky. While it is assumed that each Zodiac constellation takes up the same amount of space along the ecliptic plane, this is not the case. Virgo, the 2nd largest of 88 total constellations in our Solar System, occupies 44º of the Zodiac calendar, while Cancer takes up less than 23º.
The Sun and other celestial bodies spend more time in the Virgo constellation than in the Cancer constellation. The True Sidereal Zodiac calendar accurately reflects the constellations and our alignment with them as we know them today, making it the only calendar system based on astronomy that accurately reflects the constellations and our alignment with them.
Is sidereal astrology more accurate?
The text Mastering the Zodiac posits that the most accurate system of astrology is sidereal astrology, which employs the original celestial configuration and the essential chart. While tropical astrology is still accurate in displaying physical characteristics, Vedic astrology is more accurate due to its reference to the visible sky. To ascertain one’s true sidereal signs, one may utilize the sidereal chart calculator.
What is the use of sidereal day?
In astronomical contexts, the term “sidereal day” is used to describe the time it takes for Earth to rotate on its axis. This concept is utilized as a reference point for timekeeping, as it allows for the comparison of the positions of distant stars over time. These stars appear to remain in the same relative position from one day to the next, as observed from Earth.
What is the most accurate form of astrology?
Nādi Astrology is a detailed and accurate method of predicting the future based on the combined results of all sixteen divisional charts. However, it requires precise birth time and knowledge of genuine Nādi texts, which are often unpublished and kept secret by custodians. This is similar to Samhitā texts in north India, such as Bhrigu Samhitā or Rāvana Samhitā. Atma, the’real’ self, is immortal and characterizes the real self. It changes only to the physical bodies during common stages such as birth, childhood, teenage, adulthood, old age, and death.
Atma enters a different body based on one’s Karma and takes form based on their good or bad deeds. In Karmic terms, a transition like this is like a person being promoted or demoted based on their sincerely, honest, and efficient work in an organization.

Is Vedic the same as sidereal?
Vedic astrology, an ancient Indian astrology, is based on the Vedas, a sacred Hindu text. It uses the sidereal zodiac, which is based on fixed stars in the sky, and the signs correspond to different constellations. Vedic astrology is based on the belief that the universe is a divine energy field and everything is connected. It sees planets and stars as symbols of certain energies and forces and interprets their movements to understand how they affect us on Earth.
Sidereal astrology, on the other hand, starts at 0 degrees right ascension instead of 360 degrees. Both schools of astrology have their adherents, but the difference lies in their beliefs and the differences between them.
What zodiacs are sidereal?
In astrology, sidereal and tropical zodiac systems are two different systems of ecliptic coordinates used to divide the ecliptic into twelve “signs” with each sign divided into 30 degrees. These systems also have different definitions of a year, applied in sidereal solar calendars or tropical solar calendars.
Sidereal systems calculate twelve zodiac signs based on the observable sky, accounting for the apparent backwards movement of fixed stars of about 1 degree every 72 years due to Earth’s axial precession. On the other hand, tropical systems consider 0 degrees of Aries as always coinciding with the March equinox (spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere) and define twelve zodiac signs from this starting point, basing their definitions upon the seasons.
These differences have caused the sidereal and tropical zodiac systems, which were aligned around 2, 000 years ago when the March equinox coincided with Aries in the observable sky, to drift apart over the centuries. Sidereal astrology accounts for the Earth’s axial precession and maintains the alignment between signs and constellations via corrective systems known as ayanamsas.
Tropical astrology typically considers the zodiac of the Northern Hemisphere to be applicable without change to the Southern hemisphere, but a small number of tropical astrologers modify the zodiac to reflect seasons in the Southern hemisphere, taking Libra as the sign that coincides with the spring equinox instead of Aries.

What is the purpose of a sidereal chart?
Sidereal astrology is a system that measures the positions of planets against a fixed backdrop of stars and constellations, unlike tropical astrology, which relies on the seasons and equinoxes. Tropical astrology aligns zodiac signs with the changing seasons but does not account for the gradual shift of the Earth’s axis, known as precession. Sidereal astrology fixes the zodiac signs to specific constellations, resulting in a chart that reflects the actual astronomical positions of celestial bodies. This can result in planets being placed in different signs than the tropical zodiac for the same birth data, which can be significant.
Sidereal astrology is primarily used in Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotish, the traditional Hindu system of astrology. Vedic astrology, which translates to “science of light”, encompasses a broad range of practices, including studying planetary influences on human affairs, timing important events, and determining auspicious dates for rituals and ceremonies. The sidereal zodiac is divided into twelve signs, each associated with specific constellations, and Vedic astrologers use a system of lunar mansions called Nakshatras, which further divides the sky into 27 segments.
Why is sidereal period important?
The Earth’s orbit and sidereal time are pivotal in determining the appearance of other stellar objects in our sky, as they appear to move in relation to the Sun. This process is utilized by astronomers to predict the movements of celestial bodies.

I identified as Aries under Western astrology for such a long time and it actually made a lot of sense. Being categorised as a Pisces-Aries cusp person made even more sense! It just fit perfectly… until a few days ago through SideReal I found out I’m in fact Pisces Sun with Aries Moon! This. changed. my. life! Like I never understood why I was never as aggressive and short-tempered as other Aries Sun individuals but finding out Aries is my moon sign made absolute sense because internally I’m a hot mess with the shortest temper and ready to fight anyone even though i don’t project it outwards and always opt to just be ‘nice’. Like i was reluctant at first to delve further because my current chart is wildly different to what i knew (and resonated with personally) but my new findings have BLOWN. MY. MIND! I cannot believe i’ve been deceived and gullibly so) for so long!!! Then again I have a Gemini Rising + Pisces Midheaven which now makes sense how easily I can adapt and identify with different personality traits even if they’re not the most accurate and/or authentic descriptions of me (I can make any shoe fit lol) 😀 much unlike my previous Cancer Rising identity which was honestly very hard to accept (since i’m skinny + very tall + HATE cooking) but I’d always pick-and-choose what resonated with me… LONG STORY SHORT – SIDEREAL IS THE SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you, much appreciated.
I am a long time topical astrologer. Back in the early 80’s I attended a lecture by a Quebec astrologer by the name of Gilles Beriault. He presented on sidereal versus topical astrology. WIth benefit of having had 2 twin daughters he had numerous occasions to observe them and their life through this lens. THe main thrust was that one was more spiritual (Sidereal) and the other more mundane in orientation (Topical). On one specific day with a particular (Venus Sun aspect? Or a progression?- It was a long time ago) one daughter got married, and the other became a Nun, ostensibly marrying the church. Playing between the two increases the depth of my understanding of Self and Soul – and so to does Helio centric astrology. If anyone knows of a program for sidereal that works with Mac products of IOS Please let me know! Namaste.
IMHO: While I agree with many points made by the narrator to both sides of this debate may I offer this for contemplation: ALL forms of astrology are from a Geocentric (Earth-based) reference point and that if one were in outer space these same points are non-existent! Why is it that we’ve placed so much significance to just our little corner of this universe? I believe we should encompass perhaps many theories (as ‘theorizing’ is truly all we’re doing with ANY form) to try and make a case for our own existence. We are becoming increasingly aware that we weren’t incarnated to simply get up, go to work, eat dinner, watch television, surf the web, go to bed, get up, wash, rinse, repeat! Our very existence has meaning… Sidereal Astrology has its merits, as does Tropical Astrology and every other form in between them. Have you ever seen your Draconic (reported to be an ‘Over-Soul’ chart) chart? Bet you would find ‘pieces of yourself’ in there too. The point is… to expand our focus in search for the deeper meaning of our very existence here on planet Earth <3
Theory: Personality traits, transits, and life events of an individual may be revealed astrologically in different ways through the Tropical and Vedic Sidereal birth charts. However, there is a possibility that a 13 sign zodiac which includes Ophiuchus and orients the houses in a clockwise order, may be more accurate for many individual readers. This would be due to a reflection of the actual constellations as they appear in the sky along with the clockwise system which represents the sun’s diurnal movement as it appears to us on Earth. Furthermore, comparing all three charts could present a complex and perhaps more complete picture of an individual when similar major life themes are analyzed in all three (aspect patterns, similar sign elements, relationships between houses etc.) Keep up the great work!
My Western had 6 planets in Leo but Vedic Sidereal had 6 in Cancer. True Sidereal told the truth that 4 were in Leo and 2 in Cancer. My 6 planet conjunction was either in Leo or Cancer and while I love the flattery, I felt both. Also, my rising and NN in Ophichius made total sense. Didn’t feel quite Sag or Scorpio but Ophichius fits and it’s so obvious to people that know me. I stumbled into True Sidereal on my own but feel validated now thanks to pioneers willing to buck the trend. I was a total skeptic until I saw my natal at 63. I’ve gone back over those years and the Equal House system has been right on target with the major events that have already happened. I can’t ever go back to the zodiac anymore.
I use true sidereal for myself and with my readings, and for many years dismissed western. Recently I started researching and tuning into the practice of calendar divinations grounded in the equinox/solstice rhythms, as well as the many different types of divination calendars (not only the solar, agricultural year) used in ancient cultures. I suspect “western” astrology has a stronger terrestrial basis, but in mainstream culture its true context and dynamic is missing – treated as star-based astrology vs. a planetary-terrestrial system. I still pay attention to both systems, which I suspect is yet another case of Both, And needing reconciliation.
I think this is my favorite among your articles explaining true sidereal astrology. For my part, I’ve found a blend of both mainstream astrology for seasonal patterns and general trends and true sidereal astrology for more focused daily and weekly forecasts to be most helpful. Your charts for sun signs have also helped me better identify my friends’ and family’s characteristics in a more accurate and insightful way. As for me, I’m an Aquarius in both 😉. I would love to know your take on “cusps.” Thanks, as always, Athen, for the great information and presentation and for making so many of us aware of true sidereal astrology! Namaste🙏
Thank you for addressing the problems that tropical astrology seem to have, I’m personally an astrologer myself though I’m not the kind of person who gives other people advice. I would rather research and do projects and try and attempt to decipher other peoples charts using my self-created entire division of astrology which is called compassition astrology, it bases of the cycles of human behaviour, the compass and the different types of energies that is prevalent in today’s society.
Some years ago, I was starting to lern western/tropical Astrology, but after many months, I found out that western astrology wasn’t astronomically nor scientifically at all, completely unrealistic. Some days later I found sidereal Astrology, which has many true astronomical calculations that are scientifically proven. I also found out that sidereal Astrology is basically accurate, and tells you even your own birth star, which is really awesome. But suddenly sidereal astrology is not 100% correct. The main reason is that any sign has different sizes, and not always 30 degrees. Sidereal astrology is indeed real, astronomical, scientifically correct, but only if we use the original size of the signs, and we should use the whole house system, like in ancient times, because any house has a different size, the houses are not equal.
Great article! I started using sidereal calculations about 5 years ago and find it to be more accurate even though I am using the Vedic equal house system with the idea that it is still in the energetic influence of the zodiac however after seeing the actual unequal zodiac house system I’m seeing the wisdom in the actual zodiac system.
While I agree that sidereal is more accurate of our true nature and should be just as prevalent (if not more), it’s not to say tropical is outright “wrong” per se. The truth is we live in a world full of distortions that seek to diverge people from their true nature by prompting us to create false identities and mistake them for the actual self– that is the what the tropical astrology seems to represent. Each sign evolves into the next, so it makes sense that a skewed delineation of the skies can be reflective of a skewed perception of self that may not be so far off from the true self, but still suffers from delusion, self doubt, and a lack of self-acceptance which can create attachments to false identities. For some that aren’t attached to a false identity and seek to heal these shadow sides, sidereal may be more accurate, but for most people (and the collective) there seems to be a harmonic that plays out between the tropical and sidereal, between the shadow self and true self as everyone evolves their consciousness. We are all challenged in this world to transcend these false identities and live as our truest, most authentic soul selves, thus I feel the addition of tropical astrology plays a important part in helping us to observe how the distortions of our reality warp our perceptions.
Hi Athen thank you. I think that they are both accurate!! The tropical is accurate in the material world, and the Sidereal for the spiritual world. I am thinking deeply about this subject and looking for clues to unify both. It’s like going meta above meta in astrology… like tropical is the Sun aspect and Sidereal the Moon Aspect. And learning both of them is the way to integrate our life and know THE TRUE ASCENDANT and direction of our life Journey. What do you think about that Athen. I am a subscriber many years now. Thank you 💐

I have a lot of respect for your level of questioning and ability to challenge the Tropical system. I have always had questions, and the Tropical system doesn’t make any logical sense. But then again, I also have questions about Sidereal. Even if a person is born under the constellation of whatever sign they are, why should that cluster of stars which forms an agreed upon, and arbitrary picture, of say, a Crab (cancer), or Lion (leo), or Bull (taurus), have anything to do with the person? After all, those clusters of stars don’t really look like these things at all. What if someone else doesn’t see a lion or a crab but something else entirely? Isn’t it odd to consider that these agreed upon star images have anything to do with us? Could it be that astrology in its entirely, is simply made up?
I still cannot seem to find the answer to: is the energetic influences that we experience (given that we believe in causality of astrology) coming from the stars/constellations themselves, the planets (vedic wisdom tends to say no- planets are empty vessels), the seasons, or something else entirely? Thank you for all your good work Athen. Long time subscriber here✌️ Fin
Constellations are a human construct. They do not exist as entities. Stars that are very very far apart in 3d appear to be “in line” to our perspective from earth. Constellations are used for mapping the stars, because they have fixed locations to the naked human eye. Astrology is based on seasons (both our tour around the sun and the moon’s tour around us matters in different cultures) and locations of “traveling entities” close to us. To measure the effects of these large entities close to us, we use constellations to map the sky and calculate equal degrees of the zodiac. Humans, namely people of Mesopotamia, have found out about the effect of seasons and the locations of planets at birth very cleverly. So our astrology is based on that.
Thankyou so much for this, I have changed my Sun sign over and I am now willing to ask a question that may appear ignorant but I feel that it’s important, if anyone can let me know that would be great, my ascendant sign and moon sign…will they remain as they were or will they also change? Thanks very much X
Since person’s born under Aries now still Carry the Aries characteristics how is it that the tropical astrology has shifted a whole sign and Aries is now Pisces according to sidereal astrology ? Can anyone explain ? Also the Uranus transits through Aries and Taurus people born under tropical Aries are feeling the effects according to tropical astrology predictions. How can this be explained since according to sidereal astrology Aries are pisces?
Looking at a sidereal chart for the day March 22th AD 313 Sun was at 0 Aries and that was the year when era of Pisces actually started. Year 313 AD is also known for Milan Edict, a year when Christianity was allowed. First Christian symbol was a Fish… Is this unintentional Tropical calculation fraud, somehow related to foggy and deceptive character of the Pisces era…?
This is an argument from ignorance. It isn’t anchored to the actuality of the sky anymore than equal tempering is anchored to the natural harmonic series in music. It is an intentional mathematical alteration to create a working system. It is a system based on harmonics (which don’t change) of planetary movements, not on what the constellations are doing (which are too far away to matter). Astrology is based on “wandering stars” (i.e. the planets), not the constellations so your entire argument falls apart, as it is based on a strawman.
I respect your opinion, but there is a fundamental problem with sidereal, it values the physical stars, whereas the actual influence in astrology is where the planet is along the wheel of time- the zodiac… in astrology we are studying the wheel of time, and have decided to break it up 12 sections… when you use visual positions of stars you are tampering with the fundamental nature of how astrology works… this is why you can diagnose physical ailments with Mars and Saturn in tropical astrology, and not with sidereal… tropical, 30* degree signs is the way to go
In my experience, only the tropical astrology that does work accurately to me. I am following your website in the last 3 years and Sidereal does not work for me. That’s why I’m just learning from your interpretations and applying it on the tropical chart. In my opinion, it doesn’t matter if we use the actual constellations or not, since astrology is rooted in the collective consciousness and not in nature like you are saying. Astrology is a man made idea, do we truly see a lion or a scorpion in the sky? It’s a human imagination. The sky and the stars do not care about us and they are not telling stories to us. It is just an ancient believe that is rooted in our collective consciousness.

I found that so many things made more sense once I made the switch to sidereal. It’s difficult to lose attachment to what you have been told and ‘think you know’ but in my case, I feel it’s paid off in greater understanding of myself and my life path. Thanks for the good work you do. I explain this system to interested people whenever there’s opportunity. They’re usually pretty open to it and want to learn the difference. I think this will gain momentum eventually and the West will make the switch. Else, how can we really say we subscribe to the notion of ‘as above, so below’?
Sidereal just makes more sense! Why wouldn’t we be using the actual locations? My birth chart now looks different, so I am going to study along side your articles and see if I can put the pieces together! Pluto in Scorpio is my generation based on the tropical and that is highly resonant for me though. So I want to look at the deeper energies involved.
Feels like tropical astrology relates to the badass person I thought (and actually wished) I was before my spiritual awakening and Sidereal / Vedic astrology relates to the amazing person, light of the world I didn’t realize I am and I woke up to be after spiritual awakening. I wish I realized this before but you gotta be spiritually ready to accept the position changes on your chart. It makes so much more sense. Thank you!
Just want to say congratulations Athen! This simple, short but very informative article explaining sidereal astrology has gotten thousands of views in a matter of hours! How thrilled you must be. I’ve been a fan of your work for over a year now and even got a personal reading from you last year. To see your growth as an astrologer and the effort you make to provide good, solid content is most appreciated. May the Universe continue to expand your vision and take you to heights you’ve never imagined.
Taurus sun, Virgo Moon and Gemini rising in sidereal fits me better than the tropical Gemini sun, libra moon and cancer rising. I’ve said repeatedly that I don’t relate to cancer rising. And IC in Leo fits me way more than IC in vIrgo. Aries mars fits me so much better than Taurus mars! Can’t relate to that either. There’s a lot of other factors too that are more “me”. Thank you for the article!
In Tropical astrology the planets are shifted clockwise by almost 30degrees, putting them into different signs (compared to the signs they are observed to be in). I think what astrologers need to do to solve this problem, Tropical vs Sidereal, is to decide; does the power of astrology come from allotted areas of space (judged by the seasons), or does it come from the stars themselves? I’m starting to believe that the power comes from an area of space, meaning that Tropical astrology would be correct in following the seasons. Then the only problem, and it’s not ‘really’ a problem, is the fact that Tropical ‘Aries’ is currently the constellation Pisces, and in 600+ years it will begin to be the constellation Aquarius, still ‘Aries’, just represented in the sky under a different constellation. I’m not yet sure though, as I found a Sumerian table of the Zodiac the other day, dated to the Age of Taurus… and guess which sign started the list. Taurus, and I’m guessing the reason for that is that the Vernal Equinox would have been in Taurus. When Ptolemy got his hands on the Zodiac in roughly 120AD we were already in the Age of Pisces, but in his book he states, “Aries, the first after the vernal equinox”, not ‘at’, or ‘in’. The Vernal Equinox in his time was at the start of the Age of Pisces, so Aries would follow, *after*. What is still conflicting (to me, at least) is that since roughly 100BC we have been in the Age of Pisces… so why isn’t the first sign of the Zodiac Pisces? And it’s not even like we say, ‘after Pisces’, we just put Aries at the Vernal Equinox as if he was Pisces.
I’ve been practicing Western Astrology for 24 years with the Tropical Zodiac and Vedic Astrology with the Sidereal Zodiac for about 10: none of these zodiacs are truly loyal to what’s happening astronomically. In the case of the positions of celestial bodies given by the Tropical Zodiac, they no longer correspond to what’s there in the sky so when the Vernal Equinox (start of spring) hits, the Sun is no longer at the zero deg of Aries but at the early degs of Pisces due to the Precession of the Equinoxes. Even the argument that the Tropical Zodiac should be used based on the original position of the Sun at zero deg of Aries at the Vernal equinox because this was aligned with the the seasons is flawed since tying certain signs to particular seasons is a model that is only valid for the Northern Hemisphere but not for the Southern. This means that if the Sun is at zero deg of Aries every time that the spring hits for those in the Northern Hemisphere, the Sun should be actually in Libra for those in the Southern Hemisphere since it’s Autumn Equinox in it. I was born mid January in the Southern Hemisphere and I can’t even fathom how the cold sign of Capricorn associated with the northern winter can be symbolically associated with the middle of a southern summer. Another flawed argument I see for the use of the Tropical Zodiac is that its use of the seasons is valid because the seasons are part of a natural cycle that’s created by the Ecliptic (Annual path of the Sun in reference to the Earth), however, the Tropical Zodiac uses the Gregorian Calendar that is man-made and has nothing natural in it.
I relate so much to both tropical and Sidereal combined. I have wondered about seriously going into astrology and combining both in one chart! I know it sounds crazy but it may be very interesting and most accurate. Both work well. I feel deeply connected to my Aquarius moon in my Sidereal chart. It was a big awakening moment for me. Yes I still feel a little like I also have a Pisces moon, but I especially feel connected to my Sidereal moon sign. I also am a Gemini sun in Sidereal and Virgo rising. I am absolutely obsessed with researching the planet Mercury and now I realize why. I feel if I use only tropical, half of myself is missing!!
Wow this totally blew my mind! In this I am the Libra rising, Aries Sun, with Virgo Moon. In tropical/vedic I am Scorpio Rising, Libra Moon with Taurus/Aries sun. I always felt very scorpion but that may be because of my intense interest in occult science in general, and I see now that with Libra rising that is also the case, also I feel very at home with the virgo moon. Never really felt connected with the taurus, but still can relate because my life path is 4. I never been about revenge either, but always trying to make people come together and I am very easy going. I have to check this more. But so damn interesting to NOT divide the signs in 30 degrees. Feel more correct.
I respect different systems and that you use actual constellation degrees versus the traditional 30 degree sign system. However, just to clarify for people that this is not part of the Vedic system and completely destroys the definition of sign, which based on the movement of the Sun and Moon meeting 12 times a year, or the principles used in this system just in case there is any confusion. This is a new form of astrology being practiced here.
both systems imo are valid cosmic ‘points of view’ using different measurment standards. The constellations are IMO random join-the-dot patterns along the zodiacal belt with mythological archytypes attached. I understand the influence of individual stars but not of random constellations per se. Both systems are valid perspectives on the same phenomenon. Tropical astrology does not relocate the positions of planets as you state, only measures from a different fiducial (vernal equinox)
I’m just getting into astrology, and unless the definitions for each sign is altered in sidereal too, tropical is more accurate for me Tropical: Sagittarius Sun, Scorpio Moon, Cancer Rising, Taurus Mars, and Capricorn in Venus and Mercury Sidereal: Ophiuchus Sun, Libra Moon, Gemini Rising, Taurus Mars, and Sagittarius in Venus and Mercury The things that make me believe in tropical more than sidereal is: 1. I feel emotions intensely, and am more instinctually biased, than what a moon in libra would be 2. My cancer rising is pretty apparent with my maternal ways, and initially shy demeanor 3. For my Venus it is the dead give away that Venus in capricorn is attracted to strong people, leading them to get into relationships with jerks, this is too true for me 4. Mercury in capricorn gives me many lessons to learn about communication, and essentially tries to make me a perfectionist when it comes to communicating, which should be apparent by this analysis I’ll do my due diligence to research my sidereal placements, but based on my current research and understanding, I should be much more charming, talkative, and blunt than I currently am today.
The tropical system is correct because the seasons relate to our lives on earth HOWEVER the one we are using right now is false because the position of the sun is wrong. The actual correct system is not invented yet it’s the tropical system that can calculate where the sun originates every year and every where in the world.
I have a lot of questions about the various methods used in astrology. I’ve studied and used the tropical/western method using the Placidus house system for many years now with great success. I am a sun pisces but according to the sidereal/vedic method, I would be an Aquarius!? How am I supposed to reconcile that? There are far too many coincidences and correlations in my life and personality that have proved to me beyond any doubt that I am, in fact, a pisces, so to simply go “oops, I’m an aquarius” is inconceivable to me. I’m either a sun sign Pisces or a sun sign Aquarius. So, which is it? Could you please comment on that?
Greetings. I am confused about these eras, some astrologers, talking about an era of Aquarius that has already begun, sidereal astrologers, say with all their suite of 3D devices, telescopes, and so on, that we are entering the era of Aquarius over 300 years. Please enlighten us as humanly as possible. Sincerely, Erwin. 👍👍👍
In the sidereal system how can you see the retrograde movements? From the point of view of the sun, the planets are never retrogrades. And more: how can you see the horizon line? It’s not by this line that you see the body? The body of a person is not the point where the constellations touch the line of the horizon?
Your utube clips are very interesting. I prefer sid.astrol..in my opinion its better use only 7 visible planets-eclipt.bodies..as ancient astrolog. behinde saturn isn’t it important because it has many different astro objects which we can include in system..as moons, comets, meteor belt..etc. However im very thankful with your presentation sid.ast.
According to the Sidereal i’m a Capricorn. But based on Tropical I’m an Aquarius. I’m totally an Aquarian & my life is Uranian. I listen to your daily & weekly articles as a Capricorn although I know that I’m an Aquarius. ( It’s confusing actually 😉 but both Sidereal & Tropical gives similar info about our daily life based on planetary aspects althoughI think Sidereal is not accurate about Characteristics. But for the universal changes & ages Sidereal seems more legit. Am I right?
Great articles and I fully agree that Astrology being an Interpretation of the energies and aspects of the planets at our birth, location in houses and transits should and must be a reflection of what is “up there”. Me being 05-13-54 at 1830, is difficult to see myself reflected on a Libra ascendant. I have been studying Astrology for two years and the western, placidus is more in synch with reality. So, I find a conflict: how can a static in time location of planets and constellations (Western) provide credibility? I have made myself that question for 2 years with no clear answer, Please help me!!
Sooo.. I’m a Scorpio now..? I’ve always felt like a Sagittarius tho (My bday is December 6th) I have checked my Sidereal chart and theres 0 Sagittarius in it so for me my Tropical chart is more accurate for me then my Sidereal chart. my sister is lucky, she remained a Leo (her tropical is Leo aswell) while my sidereal is completely different
Tried to enter birth info in your chart calculator, but it kept erasing when I tried to query the Atlas. (Hope this doesn’t mean my Mercury was in the sign of Stupid when I was born. LOL!) I’d really like to know the sidereal reading, and filling out the form for contact. Thanks very much, as I never knew the difference.
Not gonna lie, I am confused. I made my chart on your site and each time (using your auto look up and the other time I used UTC. ) Auto gives me a Pisces Asc. and UTC gives me (??? a black box with a U w/ squiggly line through it. When Vedic astrologers have done my chart I still get an Aries asc same as in my Western chart. Why is your site giving me completely different asc.? I know the lat. and long. 39W18 39N33 and UTC is -6
Hi. I’m confused. I understood that both Sideral & Tropical astrology use 30 degrees. But when I see these Sidereal Sun Signs By Date in your web, they do not take 30 days. Thanks for your clarificationAries (Apr 21 — May 12)Taurus: (May 13 — Jun 19)Gemini (Jun 20 — Jul 16)Cancer (Jul 17 — Aug 6)Leo (Aug 7 — Sep 14)Virgo (Sep 15 — Nov 3)Libra (Nov 4 — Nov 22)Scorpio (Nov 23 — Dec 6)Ophiuchus (Dec 7 — Dec 18)Sagittarius (Dec 19 — Jan 19)Capricorn (Jan 20 — Feb 13)Aquarius (Feb 14 — Mar 9)Pisces (Mar 10 — Apr 20)
All my life I thought I was an aquarius but turns out i’m a capricorn according to sidereal astrology??? I’m so disappointed lmao, I connected with aquarius so much, I thought there couldn’t be a more fitting sign for me! I cannot relate to anything about the capricorn, I don’t recognize myself in it at all. I am confused 🙁
