Is Tarot on Netflix?

In the Netflix series Tarot, a group of college friends are stalked by supernatural evil after pulling a FAAFO on a creepy box of tarot cards. The film is based on Horrorscope, a 1992 novel by Nicholas Adams. The cast includes Harriet Slater, Avantika, Larsen Thompson, Humberly González, Adain Bradley, Wolfgang Novogratz, and Jacob Batalon.

The group is enjoying a weekend away from their studies at an unnamed college in an unnamed Northeast city. Haley and Grant have just split up, but Paige and Elise are going strong, Lucas and Madeline are emerging, and Paxton is around to keep everyone cutting up. When the beer runs out, they find a locked door and a cobwebby basement filled with oddments.

Paxton’s discovery of a wooden box with the signs of the Zodiac carved in its lid is the most significant. The box is packed with hand-painted cards of a type not recognized by self-taught Tarot expert Haley, who is hesitant to read their horoscopes. The group clamors for Haley to read their horoscopes, but she hesitates due to the risk of combining Tarot with astrology.

Once the friends return to their daily lives, the Major Arcana cards closest to each of their character traits start coming around to stalk and kill them.

Is the Tarot movie 18+?

“Tarot” is a poorly made film that lacks scares, GGI effects, and memorable characters. The violence is abysmal, skewing closer to the 12A side of the 15 certification than the 18. The cast is poor, with Jacob Batalon being poorly drawn and making it hard to care about their demises. The film tries to be “Final Destination” by ham-fistedly foreshadowing the deaths in Haley’s readings, but it is genuinely laughable.

The trailer shows Elise being killed with a loft ladder, and the reading is a ham-fisted attempt to foreshadow a nasty fall. The music used to destroy any mood of foreboding or threat is also poorly done. Overall, “Tarot” is a disappointing film that fails to deliver on its potential.

  • this movie is so bad. last segment got me so stressed out over how dumb the main character is — thats not to say each segments main character arent dumb, just the last one was so stressful. each segment is based off misunderstanding so there goes the ‘twist’. after you finish the first one, you know each following isnt ‘what it seems’. predictable, lazy writing.
