  • sigh It was just pointed out to me that elixir of water walking was added in patch 2.3 during the Burning Crusade 😔 as well as the fact that I didn’t highlight the fire resistance potions usability in core raids and boss fights. That’s 2 things I sort of missed so far! Bear with me I’ll be making a follow up article after this series polishing all of the mistakes. 🙂 thanks for being so understanding, I’m pulling most of this information from ClassicDB which is notorious for having misinformation. I’ll do my best to research and pick my friends brains so I can produce great quality guides for you all!

  • Alchemy makes bank that’s for sure vanilla had this great synergy where every item worked together tailors needed potions for specific robes, Raiders needed protection pots for aoe fights, Try hards want flasks for overkill dps, quests need all kinds of silly pots and getting to arcanite transmute before 40 basically refunds the cost of leveling it and gives you passive income the rest of the game

  • A good start for Classic+ would be filling out the professions. Fix the broken leather working sets. Add in more level appropriate gear that would actually be used and wanted for all crafting. Add synergy between the professions. Add in the buff storage device to engineers, this is so obvious that only blizz could see this and add it to a vendor for gold.

  • Maybe it’s just my server’s economy, but Alchemy right now feels like a complete waste of a profession. Every herb on the AH is priced so tightly, that the alchemists making the potions are breaking even if they were to buy the herbs from the AH. Meaning that it’s better to just pick the herbs and sell, then waste a valuable profession slot on Alchemy.

  • The reason why there is a regular holy resistance potion and not an Arcane one is because ORIGINALLY Holy was one of our baseline resistances, not Arcane. I think they swapped Arcane in place of Holy in build .8.. But don’t quote me on that. Anyways, so while our baseline resistances originally housed holy we had the holy resistance potion. Then, later, when it was swapped to Arcane they must have added more potions for Alchemy, adding the greater arcane resistance potion…. but failed to change the holy resistance potion to arcane also… That’s my best guess anyways. Hope this helps to shed some light! Neat article btw!

  • MP5 potion is great for paladins and shamans since they do not benifit from spirit the same way priests and druids do since they do not have a talent that allows for the spirit regen to occur during the 5 second rule between casts so MP5 is a high value stat for paladin and shaman even at low amounts.

  • In an early alpha or beta version of the game all abilities that did “yellow” damage actually did holy damage. Holy protection potions would soak things like mortal strike or eviscerate. Obviously, this was broken. It was fixed in beta, but the recipe for the potions remained in the game even though it’s more or less worthless.

  • This is a good article that packs a lot of useful info into nine minutes. Studying up on the key items driving server progression will be incredibly important, especially in the initial burst of players. Resources will be extremely limited and making sure that the limited recipes and trade goods are harvested from the server as efficiently as possible is paramount to a smooth progression curve and attracting talented players to a server or guild. Although, many people will be camping and timing these recipes so that their character, guild, and faction has opportunity to produce these sought after elixirs, weapons, and armor first! A more in-depth or advanced guide could take the information presented in this article and apply it as a sort of meta-analysis of overall server demand for trade-skill produced goods and how feasibility of obtaining an item/recipe may influence player decision for professions, leveling path or zones, etc.

  • holy absorb can be good against a paladin or priest. If I still had my pc come classic, I was thinking of rolling either a holy priest or ret paladin and then teaming up with the other one since paladins not only have an aura than increases holy dmg, but also the crusader judgement which increases holy dmg taken.
