Which Cards Have Access To Mystic Mine?

Mystic Mine, a deck from the 2019 Dark Neostorm set, is a popular choice among players due to its ability to stun opponents and prevent them from activating monster effects or attacking. It is an OTK-based deck that uses Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max to finish off opponents. The goal of the deck is to set Fire Prison, which can be searched with Pots, Demise of the Land, or Terraforming, so only Link Monsters can access it.

The deck is designed to be used alongside other decks like Burn, Exodia Final Countdown, and Destiny Board, as it shuts down opponents while being practically unaffected. Some popular decks to use Mystic Mine include Burn, Exodia Final Countdown, and Destiny Board. The game plan involves getting mine on the field with various search cards and pots, protecting it from self-destruction with Field Barrier or Silent Wobby, and protecting mine from self-destructive effects with Field Barrier or Silent Wobby.

Mystic Mine has gained popularity in the competitive scene, with its initial success in burn decks but being adopted by other decks. As of December 1, 2022, “Mystic Mine” is no longer playable in both the TCG and the OCG. The top 16 decklists for all Yugioh tournaments show that this deck is no longer playable as it is banned in both the TCG and the OCG.

In summary, Mystic Mine is a versatile deck that can be used alongside other decks to shut down opponents and prevent them from activating monster effects or attacking.

  • Once I played it while having Compulsory Evacuation Device set and only 1 monster on my field. Then, my opponent tries to “balance” the field by leaving only 1 monster on their field… and THEN I use Compulsory Evacuation Device to return my ONLY monster to the hand… and blocking their effects and attacks again 😉

  • The only reason people hate mine is because Yu-Gi-Oh has gotten to the point where people don’t want to main deck multiple pieces of backrow hate. Back in like a meta with plant synchro people were main decking 3 mst and other outs to backrow, since we can’t afford to do it right now mine is an issue. It’s just a sign of the times.

  • On one hand I get it. On the other hand, now they know how it feels to just get completely shut out. “Oh, you’re just gonna flood your board with stuff that negates any card I play just so you can play with yourself, doing your 15-minute combo while I just sit here? How about I play ONE card that stops you from doing ANY of that, and now YOU get to just sit there and get decked out/get OTK’d when I’m good and ready?” I know it ain’t right, but some part of me gets a chuckle at people complaining about ‘not getting to play the game’ when the meta itself seems built around not letting your opponent do anything.

  • Everyone hates Skill Drain, I can only imagine the hatred for something that basically can negate a monster card from everywhere – hand, field, Graveyard, and possibly even banished. I can then see the game changing into flooding your opponent’s field and/or outright preventing your opponent from using a Field Spell while you use your own – Mystic Mine or something else.

  • Jiang flipped Afterburners to destroy Lyna and Ritual Sanctuary before passing his turn. Singh switched Natasha into Defense Position and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew a card and Set a card to his back row. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and Set a Forbidden Droplet. Jiang sent a face-down Trap Trick to the Graveyard with Multirole to Set a new card from his hand. Singh drew a card and passed, discarding Forbidden Droplet in the End Phase. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed. Jiang drew and passed. Singh drew and passed, and with 3 cards left in his Deck, he conceded, destined to run out of cards in his Deck before Jiang, who still had 7 cards in his Deck.

  • It saved my life. It was my 1st time at a tournament I was getting demolished. Drew mystic mine, activated it, mans saw it and looked at me and we both started laughing. I kept passing turn and he could not do a single thing and we just kept laughing. I lost though, only kept me safe for like 6 turns… very funny to see players reactions. It was a GG

  • Man it’s either Mystic Mine stall or facing down Therion/Despia boards. Hilarious article although i think the article title should be changed to “How every Yugioh player responds to Mystic Mine” lmao A really good player at my locals main decks backrow hate regardless of going first or second because of cards like Mystic Mine, Floodgates, and Scythe. Of course he plays Tri-Brigade, which is already consistent AF as to not be hurt by including backrow hate but it is something to consider when deck building. It has come in handing when popping that annoying Despia field spell though lol.

  • Don’t worry lads, this is never gonna happen to you in any officially ranked match, let alone master duel (because they won’t implement it in the game 🙂 ) because, as we all know, your opponent will have 8 negates on turn 1 on the field anyways. They don’t need mystic mine. And even if you should resort to using it yourself, don’t worry, it will never resolve because guess what?? 8 Negates haha! Yugioh is such a fun game nowadays! (:

  • I dont hate mine as a card but I dont like how you can play 9 copies of mm and how the mine player is always going to have more outs than their opponent will have removal. Last few formats mine hasnt been an issue as dracoback and verte were omnipresent Post-banlist neither of the best decks swordsoul nor despia have an in-engine out to mm It just ends up simplifying the game to “who draws more outs” 3cosmic3twin vs 3demise3barrier3judgment3bribeprohib

  • “Oh … neat. mystical space typhoon.” “Dark bribe.” “Ok. Oh hey cool! Another one.” “You run back row removal?!” “Yeah what kind of idiot wouldn’t run back row removal? Granted I haven’t played in ten years…wait people don’t run back row removal?!…anywho, summon Sonic Duck and attack directly.” “Ok my turn. Summon (any monster) and attack duck.” “Gravity bind.” “What?!” “What?” “…I concede. Can’t out it.”

  • The fact that a father and son are playing Yugioh together I really applaud them both. By the way how you been doing buddy good to see you we need to hang out again cimoooo. The past couple of months I’ve been going undefeated at our locals just picking up bulk OTS packs basically for free with Mystic mine all day they took away a couple things but they are so far from crippling the deck.

  • Yo, Final Countdown, Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell, Prohibition, those are cards I remember from my childhood in 2006! Holy shit, I just went down memory lane, damn I feel old lol I do like how the build was made because he really created something interesting with Mystic Mine despite Metaverse at 1, using older cards and new ones, I enjoyed that. And that D.D Guide, I got those in packs as a kid too and I never used them. Now they’re useful in this deck lol

  • This dude is freakin’ awesome. I love to see older people kick ass with cool decks. If there’s a tournament with this guy playing in it, I’m rooting for him. haha I bet you some people that don’t know who this guy is come to the table and think they’re going to win because it’s a dad looking guy, only to get burned. Wave motion cannon is like my favorite burn card since I started playing in 2005.

  • I’m really glad that people my age and older play yu gi oh still. I sometimes feel like as a 29 year old I should get a different hobby, then again, I’ve been playing since the starter set was 2 X 20 card decks based on yu gi and kaibas anime decks so I have a sentimental investment (despite still only being half competent at the game). Really cool that the community is welcoming to the older of us that still play, especially since I’m the oldest at my locals by about 5 years.

  • I ran degenerate decks in duel links usually duel with me take more than 20+ minutes and I’d laugh all the time, it doesn’t matter if i lose i had a great fun. Idk about the big tcg i know very limited cards compared to tcg players, but i know mysic mine, when i hear him explain his 1st card “I want to give my opponent the card” i know he is my sensei.

  • Anyone else get wronged by PPG buying from them on TCGPlayer?!? Listen, I know cimooo has nothing to do with it but myself and 3 other guys at my locals were missing cards in pre orders from PPG from the megatin, all missing cards were cards that doubled or more in price after release. Hate to be that guy in the comment section but as being an anonymous face to them and their “customer support” is doing nothing, maybe if it happened to others, those people can post comments on here to let them know its not okay to pick and choose what cards to deliver..
