Which Class In Wow Has Aoe Spells?

The best AoE spells for mobile melee classes are Fire Mage, Fury Warrior, Ele Shaman, Marksmanship Hunter, Outlaw Rogue, and Windwalker Monk. However, new spells in Shadowlands have a hard-target cap, limiting the AoE damage capability of certain classes. To use AoE spells effectively, compare the best spells for Mage, Druid, Paladin, Priest, Warrior, and Shaman.

The Fury Warrior has passive AoE through whirlwind, but it is not great on mass AoE. Arcane mages are good for utility, displacement, int buff, and great AoE and ST. Warlocks are great for destro and demonilogy shine, and weaker caster classes tend to have powerful PBAoE spells.

The most versatile version in World of Warcraft is the Mage. Unholy DK has quadratic scaling on its AoE, but it can scale very high. Destruction can sustain AoE at strong levels indefinitely, but only Elemental Shaman can outperform it.

For World of Warcraft on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled “What class gets a good AoE spell the earliest?” discusses the Demonology Warlock with some of the strongest AoE abilities. The guide goes through all AoE damage and healing spells, noting how many targets each of these abilities can hit in the Shadowlands expansion. The answer is always a Rogue or Unholy Death Knight for leveling, dungeons, and raids. However, it is not instant burst AoE dmg.

  • Only one – Druid. If you get bored with your spec you can be a melee, tank, healer, or caster. You can stealth, pick up objects and herbs in flight form, instantly go to travel form, breathe underwater, swim faster, heal other players in any spec, and buff others. You also get a combat rez. Most fun IMO.

  • The fun thing about a character that doesn’t quite fit into an expansion, is that you can story craft their own reason to be there, not as a class specifically, but as a character. For example, I had my night elf demon huntress go there as a mercenary, searching for a cause amongst the remnants of the only place on her world untouched by the legion’s crusade, the only place left untouched by the war of the ancients and the sundering of the world thereafter. My draenei mage was tired of years spent fighting and was ready to be a peaceful arcanist again, going to the dragon isles strictly as a researcher.. or at least… she was until a bunch of element-crazed primalists showed up and now its her problem. You could have a paladin or priest that goes as a missionary, or an orc or death knight that wants to atone for the atrocities they committed against the red dragonflight. You could have a warlock that wants any forbidden knowledge or power that may have been locked away there for ten thousand years. A rogue who was just searching for draconic artifacts to steal and sell on the black market, but ended up getting roped into the expedition and stays to avoid getting caught for their true motives. The possibilities are truly endless!

  • First test mistake, eliminating hunters. Pets can tank. I have rescued a lot of dungeon groups over the years and a few raids with my tanking pet when the main tank or off-tank went down. This is also why they make the best solo class. You can tank and dps at the same time. Right now I am rolling my vanilla mage, pally, hunter and druid alternately through Dragonlands and enjoying the heck out of all of them for different reasons.

  • If you like to smash: paladin, warrior, demon hunter If you like mobility/kiting : monk, druid, hunter If you like to be a quick thinker and nimble with fingers: mage, rogue If you like to kill/heal in many different ways to the point of being a maniac on how you do it: dk, warlock, priest If you like to have just visuals: shaman If you want to be a fairy dragon : evoker

  • My favorites are: Warrior: you can’t go wrong with them, you can equip any shit on them like Swords, Hammers, Staves and G U N S, they are the G.I JOE of wow Rogues: too hardcore too play, and i like it, is the same feeling like playing a fighting game which you don’t know what combo can deal more damage Paladin: (insert Crusaders orchestral christian metal music) DK: (insert some grunch, heavy metal, or anime intro music)

  • ofcourse the class he chose to main this expancion won :P. Hunter fits perfectly as they love to explore new land for new hunting trophies. Mages love to find new lore and learn about magic so ofcourse they fit aswell. Monks are also explorers and love to find good food and alcohol and a good Brawl, who wouldnt want to fist fight vs a dragon when they are drunk?

  • Well, I found out by trying most of them and the only ones clicking are Holy Priest that for some reason has to be a Blood Elf girl and an Arcane Mage that has to be a human male. So if I played for Horde I would choose a Holy Priest Blood Elf girl and for the Alliance it would be an Arcane Mage Human man. Nothing else interests me for some reason.

  • After 13 years of playing as Hunter, Druid, and Magic-based mains, I actually switched to playing as a Preservation Evoker :). Like many others, I have dabbled in playing the other classes to see if I liked playing them or not including the different races as well. I think my favorite combo for the “Classic” WoW races and classes would have to be either a Draenei Priest/Mage, a Night Elf Druid, a Dwarf Hunter, a Troll Hunter/Shaman/Druid, Orc Hunter/Shaman, and a few others. However, ultimately, I decided to play as an Evoker because – Dragons. Dragons are awesome and I’ve always loved them, and the lore behind the Aspects just brings a whole new perspective into the story. Also, the Dragon Isles are GORGEOUS!!

  • I really wanted to love Death Knight’s but they just aren’t fun enough… if I had to be unbiased I would say Warlock is the most fun, with so many additional pets you can summon, you can be utterly surrounded in minions when all your Demonology talents proc just right. I really wished they would bring the Necromancer class from Diablo 3 to WoW, just right click and raise all those dead mobs as your own.

  • I think you’re off with the monks, they came from the wandering isles ———> dragon isles shoudl fit? Plus they have dragons, too, differnt type of dragons, tho and for whatever reasion Dinosaurs, allthought Pandaria got invaded by the Zandalar, i just say Oondasta. Remember the player corpses when this first released in MoP? I think devs tried to do the first hc/mythic world boss and how it pans out.(true mythic raids came with SoO)

  • But I wanna just dps :(. Tanking requires too much responsibility and already good knowledge of the instance you’re doing so that’s off for me. Healing, while it’s sometimes fun, more often then not it’s super stressing and you also carry the group. If there’s a wipe it’s automatically your fault. So i’m sticking to dps because then I have more control or how to say

  • nah, us druids can fly as birds without dragons, we can swim without potions or buffs and not die as fishes AND we can use many different forms, hide as feral and resist battles as bears. we can be warriors, stalkers, healers, somewhat of mages, we can teleport to the dream AND look good as human like forms… and also i better shut up before some wow GM from blizz comes and finish our coolness due to my enthusiasm…. really im scared of GMs

  • i would say druid with every specc of them being avaible in pve even cats are perfoming better then half of the speccs of other classes boomy boys still being on the higher end of the dps roster bears need more love but still are pretty viable and getting some love by blizzard from time to time (unlike other speccs *cough*arms warriors*cough*other mage speccs then arcane*cough*) Trees being top tier healer with in my opinion the best way of healing Hots! just put your hots on everything and drink your premium bio tea from certified unharmed plant from the Cenarion Circle sold by the Bilgewater Gmbh & Co. KG ( Tea might be toped up with non bio chemistry waste and might not contain any plants at all.Bilgewater Gmbh & Co. KG isnt liable for any damages caused by drinking, smelling or touching of the product in any shape or form )

  • It doesn’t matter for me which expansion. Joined in MoP, Horde, Destro. Green as hell and by expansion end gold challenge completed Mythic Garrosh down and having the best time. Then Draenor turns me into a slow moving battle turret and the love is gone. At same time our guild needs a healer to compliment our existing godlike one and despite everything I did with my lock inc Green Fire quest. I ask my PvP friend what she thinks. Btw my intro to the Alliance was bumping into a Skull plated Worgen in Hillsbrad, he watches me and steps into my RoF and PvP on and he camps and kills me for 1 hour. No idea who they even were til that point. My friend says well with Mistweaver you have huge mobility, awesome CC, major burst healing and in combat you will be able to kick the ally in the head with rising Sun Kick. Sold, she knew me too well. 350k Hk’s now and still laughing and brutal to Worgen.

  • For new players I do not recommend any classes with a focus on tanking or healing. You’ll most likely get booted from dungeons pretty quickly. Start with DPS. Demon Hunters or Death Knights specifically. Who cares if your class fits with the expansion. Most people don’t seem to get that into the story anyway and if you’re role playing, you’re most likely not a new player.

  • While i see nothing WRONG with the concept of your 4th test, there is no way in hell the warrior is winning that over a druid… not in bear form anyway. Sure i could believe cat claws would have trouble penetrating plate, but a bear whos multiple times bigger and stronger than a normal man would clobber him… especially considering that in wow lore, druids in bear form have incredibly hard hides not easily penetrated by blade or even gunfire.

  • multi role class doesnt mean other roles are enjoyable for you on that class, for dps i play frostmage, for healing i play resto druid, for pvp healing i play disc priest ( yeah i know it sucks, but i have 2.5k rating with it, so fuk it, i play it ), and dh for pvp dps. For example with frostmage you can have a lot of different playstyles, and with restodruid i dont play any talents like top players, and i do 90%+ logs on mythic raid. While disc priest has always been fun for me.

  • I’ve always mained druid & loved every second of it. being able to heal, dish out massive damage, tank, look cool in certain forms, and move fast were all I needed in a class. but recently I picked up WW monk & its easily the most fun I’ve ever had in WoW. I think it’s the fact I can 1v1 certain classes that I never could before. I 2v1’d a hunter & warrior in Twin Peaks yesterday and shit on them both 😭🤣 could NEVER do that on my druid. maybe I’m just bad with the rotations

  • Left after the “first test”, the classes have three different talent specs despite only being able to fulfill dps role. The three different specs in itself dictates the playstyle (burst? dots? melee? range?). They even change the way you should build your stats and the weapon you use. Even if you argue that you can ignore stat change and min/maxing the talent spec itself just changes the playstyle. Your role in dungeon/raid should not be the only thing dictating your playstyle unless we’re talking about different games.

  • The Paladin can easily fit in with the expansion, Simply because Turalyon is acting very SuS towards the Dragons and will be wanting to find ways of subverting the authority and influence of Dragons within the Alliance, speaking with Mathias Shaw on discovering underhanded ways of revealing Dragons that are in disguise and will be sending in his highest-ranked Paladins that are a part of his inner circle to investigate… Here’s to the inevitable “Siege of Stormwind” Raid or even the return of High Exarch Yrel through the efforts of the Infinite Dragonflight punching a hole through time into Alt. Draenor.

  • TBH DK’s haven’t fit in since Wrath. Cata was kind of an “all encompassing” situation, MoP…yeah idk why we’re here, WoD, this is literally for orcs so maybe Orc DKs? but not the rest of us, Legion we uh…we were being setup to be the baddies here pretty damn hard, SL…are we a fucking meme to Blizz?, DF Sindragosa is mom.

  • You clearly don’t know anything about WoW lore if you think Paladin don’t fit in; anywhere the Alliance goes the Paladins go. Paladins are the champion of the alliance and tends to lead the alliance foot soldiers aka warriors. Since this is not an all out war with the horde there would only be a few but there will still be some. And let’s not forget about Tyr; so yeah, clearly you don’t know about the lore. Then DK with what they did in BFA killing a dragon and all; they should be there to redeem their tarnish rep with the dragon flight.

  • Absolutely despicable! DESPICABLE. Not naming druids as your number one class will be your first and last mistake. Druids are the true emperors of this trash game, and the only reason that it has any amount of fun left in it. You should be ashamed of yourself, Nixxiom. Spewing such nonsense on this website. Why, I ought to call you out in a future article for this absolute atrocity. Maybe one day I will…
