Which Song Is The Seer Listening To?

“The Clairvoyant” is a song by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released as the third single from their seventh studio album, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. The song, written by bassist Steve Harris, explores the concept of premenitions of the future and foresight. The term “claivoyant” refers to someone who can see the future, and the album is centered around prophecy and such themes. The song was released as the seventh track on the album and features three live performances from Maiden’s 1988 headlining performance.

The song is a powerful and hauntingly beautiful piece that explores themes of prophecy and the future. The lyrics of the song, which can be heard on Spotify, are reminiscent of the lyrics of the song “Dance of the Clairvoyants”, a song by American rock band Pearl Jam. The song was released as the lead single from their eleventh studio album, and it peaked at number six in the British charts.

In summary, “The Clairvoyant” is a powerful and haunting song by Iron Maiden, showcasing their ability to predict the future and foresight. The song is a testament to the band’s musical prowess and the power of their music to shape the world around them.

  • Be courteous, kind and forgiving, Be gentle and peaceful each day, Be warm and human and grateful, And have a good thing to say. Be thoughtful and trustful and childlike, Be witty and happy and wise, Be honest and love all your neighbors, Be obsequious, purple, and clairvoyant. Be pompous, obese, and eat cactus, Be dull, and boring, and omnipresent, Criticize things you don’t know about, Be oblong and have your knees removed. Be tasteless, rude, and offensive, Live in a swamp and be three dimensional, Put a live chicken in your underwear, Get all excited and go to a yawning festival. (Okay everybody!) • Well, Steve, I still reference this album some 47 years after its release… And, my dad and I laughed about when he slapped me sideways for telling the “…Wow, look at the tits! I’ll bet there’s 57 tits up there!” Everyone laughed, and I was suddenly looking right with a stinging left cheek. He died of a stroke in 2002.

  • i think this shows real artists…letting the world, personal experiences, cultural shifts, etc affect them and then express themselves from that place…organically. instead of trying to “be like they used to be”, “trying to please fans”, “trying to just make music that sells” …. i applaud and appreciate the “evolution” and look forward to the rest of album

  • That old Eddie seems to have changed his perspective on life. Last few albums like this. A change, a change in wisdom as we grow older and learn from past triumphs, failure and heart break. The new album sounds like it is going to have personal connection themes. Between people and our connection to this planet we all live on.

  • Hey guys, know its a long time since you posted this article. But just gotta say, you really made my day. Love listening to what you are saying. Sorry for any text errors. (Im not that good at writing english.) You guys are just awesome. Keep being you!! Have a beautiful dag. Peace.. 😉 Greatings from Denmark. ❤

  • This new album it’s about nature. the title album it is Gigaton, here is what this means: A gigaton is a measurement of mass, equal to one billion tons. While we’ve become used to hearing about nuclear weapon explosions being expressed in megatons, a gigaton has three more zeros – 1,000,000,000 tons. In terms of water, a gigaton is around the amount found in 400,000 Olympic swimming pools. Current estimates suggest that Antarctica is losing between 92 and 159 gigatons of ice per year.

  • Huge PJ fan here..to be honest, I have disliked every single album the first time I listened to it..no joke..then I would listen to it over and over and eventually love every one of em..never fails! The songs I dislike the most usually become my favs..I LOVE THIS BAND..can’t wait to hate the new album!! Haha

See you guys. 🙂 Pearl Jam the best

  • Depeche Mode, talking heads, David Bowie with a fourth mix of Pearl Jam new sound but I disagree….it sounds EXACTLY like Vedder’s voice — all the grunge guys have a distinct sound in their voices that are their own. But, I don’t think Sori will dislike anything Ed sings — crushing on him — lights up when she hears him. : )

  • There are two lines that don’t work for me musically because they just feel a bit choppy, but overall really digging most of this and excited they are pushing themselves into some new territory. While there were good songs along the way, the last handful of records while definitely not sounding like the same songs have definitely fallen victim to them doing a few different types of styles/songs. Hoping this is a precursor to the album and not a sort of one of song stylistically.

  • For the first time drummer Matt Cameron felt so relevant. Well that’s not a stadium song like Alive / Even Flow Black and so many others on which we use to swing rapturously. This is more like a club song / a film OST more in tune with David Bowie certainly don’t feel like Brendan O Brien production. Give this song a U2 edit and the song will become smoother. We’re not use to with Eddie Veddar doing this stuff. With time the song will grow on us.

  • Hi Vin and Sori!!! Huge fan here, love the show, not Christian or otherwise, but PLEASE… Do a reaction for Bloodbath – Hades Rising… Much akin to Behemoth style writing… And the article isn’t bad. Bloodbath is a super group comprised of members of Opeth, Witchery, Hypocrisy(on one album), and other groups. The lyrics I think you will find intellectually interesting!!

  • You guys gotta do a reaction to Architects! Either Doomsday (please look up the history of the band and the meaning behind this song, their guitarist passed from cancer and their drummer is his twin brother) OR Royal Beggars LIVE. Best live band on the planet I’m telling you. Do both? You’ll thank me I promise.

  • This song absolutely sucks. Sounds like Bowie…. I lived in Seattle when Pearl Jam broke out, “Still Alive,” “Jeremy,” then other classics came out. Sure, i didn’t like “The Last Kiss,” or this song, they both suck BUT I still love Pearl Jam. No disrespect for those who love this song but I personally hated all that 80’s electronic bullshit, being a metal head, classic rocker then hard rocker.
