Which University Has A Viking Mascot?

The Viking mascot is a popular choice among schools, including high schools, colleges, and sports teams. Portland State University adopted the Viking as its mascot in 1893, and Del Mar College revealed the new “official” Viking mascot during a pep rally-like unveiling on April 27, 2017. The design had been under wraps for several months.

Several schools have adopted the Viking mascot, such as Kendall College, Lawrence University, Long Beach CC, Elizabeth City State University, Augustana College, Missouri Valley College, Salem State University, Dana College, North Park University, Geneva, Gibraltar, Glen Oaks Community College, and Glendale. The Bethany Viking is the beloved campus mascot, known for his imposing figure yet friendly charm and Lutheran taste for Lutefisk.

Western Washington University may scrap its Viking mascot and is currently conducting an investigation to help make a final decision. The new LBCC athletic logo features a black outline side profile of a Viking wearing a helmet accented with red, with a gray face reflecting LBCC’s pride.

On September 20, 2017, the Official Mascot of the Westchester Community College Athletic Department was introduced to the WCC campus community. Ragnar The Viking is a costumed human character from the NCAA Div III, College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, and is also known as The Norse NCAA Div III.
