Should I trust Vedic or Western astrology?
Vedic astrology, also known as Hindu astrology, is a more complex and less fixed system compared to western astrology. It is less generic and involves more moving pieces, making it less accurate than western readings. Vedic astrology, which has its roots in Babylonian and Hellenistic tradition, uses the sidereal zodiac and assigns houses based on birthdays, sun signs, and location. It has 12 signs and uses earth to gauge an individual’s birth perspective.
Western astrology, originating from the 2nd century BC, is based on Ptolemy’s Tetrabiblos and has roots in Babylonian and Hellenistic traditions. It assigns houses based on birthdays, sun signs, and location, with 12 signs. Vedic astrology, on the other hand, has its roots in an ancient Indian text and dates back to around 10, 000 BC. The Sanskrit name for Vedic astrology is Jyotisa or Jyotish, which can translate into a heavenly body.
Vedic astrology is believed to be closely tied to spirituality and was born from sages and seers and the Four Vedas, which are centered around mantras, rituals, philosophy, and divine revelations. While western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, Vedic astrology is more concerned with the physical placement of constellations and applies the sidereal zodiac.

Which astrology house system is most accurate?
The equal house system divides the ecliptic into twelve 30 degree divisions, with houses measured in 30 degree increments starting from the degree of the ascendant. This system is more accurate and less distorting in higher latitudes, especially above 60 degrees, than the Placidean and other quadrant house systems. The definition of houses involves the division of the sphere into twelve equal lunes perpendicular to a fundamental plane, with the Morinus and Regiomontanus systems being notable exceptions.
Houses are measured out in 30 degree increments starting from the longitude of the midheaven, which acts as the starting point of the 10th house. The ascendant does not coincide with the cusp for the 1st house.

How real is Vedic astrology?
Astrology has been criticized by the scientific community for lacking explanatory power for describing the universe. Scientific testing has been conducted, but no evidence has been found to support the premises or purported effects outlined in astrological traditions. Despite its status as a pseudoscience, astrology retains a position among the sciences in modern India. In 2001, India’s University Grants Commission and Ministry of Human Resource Development introduced “Jyotir Vigyan” or “Vedic astrology” as a discipline of study in Indian universities, stating that it allows for accurate predictions on time scale. This decision was backed by a 2001 judgement of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Despite widespread protests from the scientific community and Indian scientists working abroad, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition in 2004 that astrology was not a promotion of religion. In 2011, the Bombay High Court referred to the 2004 ruling when it dismissed a case challenging astrology’s status as a science. As of 2014, astrology continues to be taught at various universities in India, and there is a movement to establish a national Vedic University to teach astrology alongside the study of tantra, mantra, and yoga.

📹 Why is Kala the Best Vedic Astrology Software (Brief Overview)?
Kala Vedic Astrology Software: https://ashevillevedicastrology.wordpress.com/kala-vedic-astrology-software/ Astrological Classes …
thanks Mr Ryan for providing tutorial on benefits of kala software. who has developed it? who supplies it in India? what is the cost. whether this software has capability to show natal chart as well as transit chart (in one south Indian mixed chart- outer and inner modes) for a selected past event with aspects or conjunction between natal vs natal or natal vs transit planets and when similar or trinal positions would reoccur in ones life (dates) to such completed events . what is the convenient ist time to speak with u on this? what is your mail I’d for obtaining few more clarifications? in jaimini different scholars follow different variants for dasas and arudha calculations. whether kala has these variants duly built in?
Fantastically many thing one can do with this software! I find though that it doesn’t always calculate the dignity of planets in different vargas accurately. For example: Venus dignity is said to be neutral in a varga when it is placed in leo together with the sun. As far as I have understood that situation will make venus a great enemy. Similar things comes up every now and then, so I always determine the dignity myself, not depending on Kala.
