Japan’s Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) has announced that its official mascot, Omaneko, will be a PR appearance at Kemoket, Japan’s largest airport. Staff Sgt. Mamoru and Airman 1st Class Reina are the Air Self-Defense Force’s answer to the MSDF’s off-the-wall mascots. The mascots have been a part of the scene for Japan’s professional baseball league’s ninetieth birthday this year. An ICBM carrying a dummy warhead was launched at 8.44am AEST on Wednesday and fell into a designated area in the Pacific.
In Japan, there is no “air police force” corresponding to the police on land and the Japan Coast Guard at sea. Therefore, the JASDF is the only organization with responsibility. Contemporary artists who have made therapy a major part of their practice share a feeling that relief from their pain is possible. The official Omaezaki Sub Base website lists all their mascots, including Omaneko. The first mascot, Momoe, was introduced in July, and the first mascot, Mizuho, was introduced in August.
