Thanks for the guide. Wayfarer and Wanderer, the two classes that allow you to be a mage without reading a proper class text, both have skills that boost the power of various cantrips. I am also pretty sure that arcane weakness does not trigger of having low mana, but from spending a high percentage of your maximum mana at once. So if a mage uses 10 spells that use 5% of his maximum mana, they will get no weakness, but if the use one spell that uses 50% of their maximum mana, they will get some weakness. The higher percantage of a mages mana used, the higher the amount of weakness they get. I think weakness starts showing up at 25% of maximum mana used.
You can craft gems of insight to fabricate new spell casters, though I think they also spawn as a rare drop from destroying the portal during elemental invasions. Crafting them requires an existing wizard with 6 crafting and 12 intellect, and a table that needs uranium and jade, but the gems only require 500 magycyte each (about 3-7.5k depending on difficulty and negotiation bonuses) its practical to make every colonist some form of wizard.
Has anyone experimented with the “Spirit” class? Up until now, I had no idea it even existed. Its not mentioned anywhere on the wiki. But through testing around, it seems to become accessible when you use a Magic Circle to summon a spirit. The spirit can possess other pawns, effectively giving them a trait & class called the “Spirit”. Reading the tooltips of the abilities, and trying to learn more about this class. I tested it on one of my pawns, possessing a Death Knight (Fighter class) and it gave them basically 2 classes in one: Fighter (Death Knight) + Mage (Spirit)! My problem is, I am unaware of how to reverse this. The tooltip of Possess mentioned that you can return to “spirit form”. But I see no button to undo/stop the possession of my Death Knight. Anyone got experience with this class? I need help! Any tips/info about this class appreciated.
I use character editor to add the magic/physical affinity traits to colonists too, but there’s a way to add those traits without cheating. It involves crafting “gems of insight”. You probably need some research for it; I’m not sure if you cover that later… sorry, I just thought it was important for getting starting using regular pawns; re-rolling isn’t the only way to get them.
