Faith is a key attribute in Elden Ring that affects a player’s ability to cast Incantations and equip the necessary weapons. It is one of the 8 Main Attributes that players can spend Runes on to level up, increasing the Stat’s effectiveness and influencing their relative secondary stats. The strength of incantations is based on the incantation scaling stat on the seal, which increases the more faith + other stat the seal says it scales on in the description. Faith will increase weapon damage and spell damage if the scaling on your weapon/seal is good. Spell damage will be much greater with a higher faith and good scaling seal.
FromSoft generally gets specific with what things get what buff for balancing, so it’s best to test it out. Faith builds get a fantastic spread of armaments and varied spells for both offense and defense, and ties to the lore as “faith” can be associated with any religion in the game. Faith dictates which level you can cast the spells, and Mind equates to your FP pool. For a successful Incantation-based build, it’s likely to practice leveling up both Faith and Mind.
In Elden Ring, Faith Incantations cover Fire, Beast spells, Lightning, and holy spells. They can provide healing to you and your allies during combat. Int and Faith do not help each other out, but each point allocated to the Faith stat increases the effectiveness and damage dealt by Incantations cast with weapons with Faith scaling. Leveling up Faith and upgrading your Finger Seal with smithing stones increases the damage of your incantations, only needing to increase Arcane.

Is faith stronger than hope?
Faith is a stronger form of hope than hope, as it involves trusting in a greater power and the belief that everything will work out for the best. Faith can come from various sources, such as trust in a higher power, belief in oneself, or confidence in others. It goes beyond just hoping for the best and gives the strength to take action and make things happen. When having faith, one is not just waiting for good things to happen, but actively working towards their goals and taking steps to make them a reality. This is different from just hoping for success in business or relationships, as it involves nurturing and thriving relationships.
What stats make incantations stronger?
The stat needed to boost a spell is “Sorcery/Incantation Scaling” found on the equipment used to cast the spell. Different equipment scales with different stats, such as Int, Int ‘and’ Faith, and Arcane. To increase the damage a spell does, the stat (faith/int) or the staff/seal’s upgrade level is the key factor. The stat provides a higher amount of increase, while the staff/seal’s upgrade level improves the scaling of the stat.
What makes spells stronger in Elden Ring?
The author, an Astrologer, suggests that increasing Intelligence is not effective for increasing damage. Instead, it is recommended to increase Intelligence to the level needed to cast a desired spell and then increase Vigor or other stats to increase survivability. Intelligence can raise the “Sorcery Scaling” attribute on staffs, which increases damage. To improve stats, it is suggested to get enough Intelligence to use the desired spell, with 26 Intelligence being sufficient for most spells. Starting out with Glintstone Pebble is sufficient for most situations. Mind increases the FP pool, allowing for more spells before needing recharge.
What stat makes spells stronger?
Understanding the Elden Ring stats and attributes is crucial for surviving the game. These stats determine a character’s damage, toughness, and spellcasting power. To maximize your character’s stats, focus on boosting Strength, Intelligence, Faith, Arcane, and Dexterity. The game doesn’t favor a jack-of-all-trades approach, but rather focuses on boosting select stats and building a playstyle around them.

Recreating your character is not easy, so understanding Vigor’s function and deciding if Intelligence is better than Faith or Arcane for a magic build is essential. What makes faith spells stronger in Elden Ring?
The Gravel Stone Seal is a sacred seal in Elden Ring that enhances the power of lightning incantations, allowing players to defeat even the hardest bosses. It can be obtained in Leyndell, Royal Capital, by climbing a petrified dragon and activating the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace. Killing Leyndell guards and obtaining the Seal will drop it. The Bolt of Gransax is a powerful melee and ranged hybrid weapon found in Leyndell, Royal Capital. To obtain it, head North-West along the raised walkways above the city and look for a large golden spear twisting out of a building. Leap down onto the spear to find the Bolt of Gransax at the end.
What increases spell power?
Spell power is an on-use effect found on trinkets and can be increased with potions. It does not apply to bandages or potions. Prior to patch 3. 0. 2, spell damage only increased the effects of damaging spells, while healing spells were only increased by the healing attribute. As of patch 3. 0. 2, spell power affects both types of spells, but some items increase bonus healing independently of damage spells and grant bonuses only to certain magic schools.
Do incantations scale with faith?
The potency of sorceries is contingent upon the user’s intelligence, whereas incantations are dependent upon faith, unless a spell tool has been designed with unique scaling capabilities. The scaling of fire sorceries and incantations is dependent on the respective factors of faith and intelligence. The scaling of lightning incantations is dependent on faith, whereas lightning ashes of war are scaled in accordance with dexterity. The status is updated when Waluigi gains respect.
What is the strongest faith spell?
Faith in Elden Ring plays a crucial role in a player’s ability to cast incantations and equip powerful weapons, such as Lansseax’s Glaive, Flame Of The Fell God, Erdtree Heal, Fortissax’s Lightning Spear, Death Lightning, and Elden Stars. These spells and incantations make the journey through The Lands Between enjoyable and less daunting. However, only those who dedicate time, effort, and hard-earned Runes to maximizing their Faith skills can access the world’s deepest magic secrets.
The Ancient Dragon Lansseax, once an unbeatable foe, is now well past her prime but still poses a challenge with lightning and swift claw sweeps. If players defeat her, they receive the Lansseax’s Glaive Incantation. Despite the variety in the game, only those willing to dedicate their time and effort to maximize their Faith skills can access the deepest magic secrets.
How to increase the strength of incantations?
Incant Scaling is a stat exclusive to Sacred Seals that increases the damage caused by Incantations cast by the seal used. Tarnished players must meet the required attribute stats to wield the weapon, while exceeding the Faith requirement increases the Incant Scaling of the seal used. Incant Scaling can be increased by upgrading sacred seals. It only affects the damage or healing of incantations cast by the seal and does not affect the duration of buffs or other incantations.
Incantations that heal over time do not benefit from Incant Scaling. For Healing and Weapon Buff incantations, only the portion of the Scaling from Faith counts, making hybrid seals weaker for casting these spells.
What stats does faith increase?

📹 Top 5 BEST Incantations! Must Have Faith Magic Spells in Elden Ring For Early-Mid Game!
Yooo guize, today we go over the top 5 incantations in Elden Ring for Early-Mid game! Will update this list for later game as I …
You can actually skip Rodrick for the lightning spear by going from the grace at the scavenger’s shack. Get to the grace, and head north to the broken bridge, where you’ll see the Finger Reader NPC. Pass her and jump off the end of the bridge, and turn southwest to find the path around the back of the castle. At the top, you’ll find the grace you would typically get after beating the castle.
A note on Flame of Frenzy: If you can get within touching distance of a big enemy like a dragon then this incantation does nutty amounts of damage. I managed to stagger the crimson-rot dragon with two casts of it. Also, I’m surprised you didn’t mention bloodflame blade since it’s more or less the go-to weapon buff for physical weapons. Bloodflame can be gotten by looting the fire monk camp on the west side of lunaria. Blackflame blade is also worth mentioning as a short term weapon buff that works like Black Flame. I’ve been using both buffs(not at the same time obviously) on a pair of spiked caestus and punching giant monsters to death.
4:15. You do not need to kill Godrick to get past. You can walk around the castle on the right side and walk all the way through. You’ll meet the golden knight. if you walk a bit further you will see the Church of Vows with the Turtle Pope. He can teach you the Black Flame incantations if you give him the book that you find in the rat cellar with the Stonesword Key. After that I killed Godrick with black flame. Worked wonders.
Quick bit of advice with the ogre from the Black Flame portion of the vid, it is obnoxiously easy to fish for backstabs with that guy, especially if you have good enough stamina and shields to block his swings. Circle around counterclockwise and you’ll be at his back constantly. I’ve backstabbed him more often than I’ve hit him normally.
Theres an exploint if you go to the third church of marika to the pond behind theres a teleport gate open the door and bring a bleed weapon/golden fowl foot (whatever its called). Once through the portal turn around and open the double door, theres a grace past the first status on the left with an npc in the room (you give gim deathroot and he gives you items) proceed down the road grabbing the golden seed from the tree, eventually you come across a bridge before that to the left is a grace hop back on your horse and sprint past the dragon, there should now be a minor erdtree in sight head arounce it to the left, behind is a spirit spring. At the base to a fort is a grace, hit that. Theres a massive dragon laying on the ground its unabble to move or attack you it simply debuffs you with its roars, proceed to bleed the tail untell its around 20 percent eat the gold chicken foot, then finish it off go level up (25 requirement for dragonrot breath so keep that in mind. Now go back to the third church of marika, proceed up the hill to the north where youll find 2 spirit stream jumps follow the road you find there (stick to the left once up top as theres an npc invader or kill her if you want theres a bonfire in the church. Follow the road untell the second left curve there will be a dragon along the route just sprint past him and keep a lookout for ruins to your right. Stick to the left of the ruins and enter through a collapsed wall. Get the site of grace and look for the dragon communion alter, get scarlet rot breath and now you can sink 4-5 breath attacks into a boss and simply avoid its attacks while you watch it die.
You can actually get into Learnia and get lightning spear without even looking at Marjit lol, you just follow the road from Rodrika’s shack, and you’ll see a split that goes up in the map. Follow that and you’ll see the finger reader/old lady sitting on a bridge, then you follow the bridge till you get to the end where it’s broken off. There’s actually a ramp to your left from there (if you’re facing forward) that you can go down. From there you just follow the path until you end up in learnia!
Getting ready to do a respec on my build just debating on how to assign levels. I started out a vagabond and I’m at lv133. Not sure how to level as for vigor i will go 40, mind 30, endurance 20, strength 30, dexterity 20, intelligence 18, faith 40, Arcane 11. All i know is a wanna run a blasphemous blade and do a faith build. Any recommendations on my leveling would be appreciated.
where do you get a better thing to cast these? and should you level them up? I assume so like you would a magic staff? I am going to pump points into faith as well to have access to faith spells as well. I have been playing as magic dex so far, but definitely want to use some faith stuff as well now I’ve seen how good they can be. I only have the basic catalyst for faith magic so far though, so don’t want to waste materials levelling it when I know i can get better.
My top five best incantation list, mid to late game: 1- Swarm of Flies, this is by far the most useful incantation in the game period it shreds 90% of the bosses in this game and works quite well in pvp as well 2- Ezekel’s Rot/ Rot Breath, very good against bosses and it’s absolutely busted in pvp 3- Fire’s deadly sin + blood flame, this is by far the most devastating incantation combo I’ve ever used, if you cast FDS and then BF, standing near any enemy will start to build up bleed based on close proximity, with a few exceptions (won’t work on Radagon/Elden Beast or anyone else immune to hemorrhage) but if you pair this with blood hounds quick step it’s atrocious because in pvp, players without bloodhounds quickstep can’t run from you (this will probably be receiving a nerf very soon) 4- Unescapable Frenzy, terrible against a large majority of enemies including other players but against npc invaders and any enemy that is tarnished and human sized it’s basically a one shot kill grab move and it even works on Sir Gideon Ofnir The All Knowing 5- Frenzied Burst, madness only works against tarnished enemies but this incantation has the best range out of them all and can collateral multiple targets at once easily one of the best pvp incantations in the game Honorable mention: Unendurable frenzy, shoots out a wide arch of frenzy similar to flame of frenzy but can be held and allows you to walk while casting
Hey Moxsy, I want something like this but with bleed ashes of war on dual curved swords or something (maybe other dex weapons like daggers). How viable would it be? I’m just hesitant because of the added need to put stats into arcane. Making all stats but intelligence/strength important… which could honestly open up dragon magic as well I guess
As an explorer i’ll let you k ow you dont need to kill Godrich! You can skip the castle by going to the broken bridge and taking a left, follow the road up the side of the castle and you’ll end up at the grace behind the castle! So technically you can make the first lord you fight the queen since shes is not that hard! Especially if you have the frost axe to AOE the mobs!
Is Holy damage the only Faith-scaling weapon upgrade? It looks like Faith only has one weapon damage type and Faith doesn’t seem to get any special bonus like the other attack stats. I’m still early in the game, though. Just trying to figure the Faith path out. I have always started Souls games with Faith characters. I was hoping for something like Blessed regen given the stat doesn’t seem to give you any extra bonuses.
